                    THE DISAPPEARANCE OF SETH AND RICHARD GECKO WAS A TRAUMATIC TIME FOR MARISOL ROJAS. She had to have been the last person to see Seth alive. And with the fire spun rumors that ensnared the brothers in vicious rumors that just couldn't be true... right? Seth Gecko, the boy she loved so intensely, would never have purposely set his house ablaze with his father left behind. There was no way.

It took years for Marisol to escape the nightmares. It took her years to truly find somewhere she belonged rather than somewhere she stayed just in hopes that someday the love of her teenage years would return. She had to get out of that rundown town, away from the whispering, the jeering, the rumors that filled her head with black smoke and blistering flames. And so she took off with a single bag and her mother's old Toyota Camry that had seen much better days.

She shacked up in Georgia for a good bit. She went to the police academy, became a decorated officer. She saved a few lives, took down some irredeemable characters and threw them away in a locked cell, tossing the key. However, with time, Georgia began to melt into her hometown. People began to stare, whispers began to surface. Her chest tightened out of fear that maybe, just maybe, they were aware of what happened so many years ago. And maybe they were thinking what she had the night before she left: she was an accessory.

She moved around often, never getting truly comfortable in one place. But as she did, she climbed and climbed the ranks of every department she filled until she reached the top. At twenty nine years old, she has made it to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. She stayed in Virginia, silent and alone. She preferred it that way, really. There was less of a chance of heartbreak, of the truth finding the light. And it seemed to work for her. Until she was shown a case file.

Someone was killing innocent women, posing them in horrific ways. She had seen many things that stained her mind, but this... This took the cake for the worst imagery she'd ever seen in her life. To make matters worse, the locations stuck out to her like red pen in a scheduling book, underlined three times.

It didn't take her long to connect the dots. The killer was following their path. Seth Gecko was not dead, she had concluded years ago upon hearing his incarceration. And neither is Richie. Richie, the boy she had loved the way a big sister would, was broken. And she knew that she had to fix him before it became too much and he'd be lost forever.

throwback to when i was hyperfixated on
this show in 2017. 👀

in all seriousness, i had started reading
some fics & then began rewatching the
show and the love i felt for it resurrected.
richie & seth were a big part of my life in
2017, and the show / movies themselves
really seemed to keep my head above water.
i feel so elated to be able to finally write
something for the show.

there will be changes to the plot line
to fit marisol in, so there will most likely
be unfamiliar scenes. i didn't want to
just follow it exactly because i know how
boring that can get. also, with the playlist, it
gets added to every chapter. i wanted to
make sure the songs really fit the story and
it seemed easier to add a song each chapter?
i don't know if that makes sense.
