Words from the Author:

I'm going to keep this as short as possible because some times I don't have much to say. I'm pretty confident that there will be action, but it won't be action against SEELE. You guys will soon see what I mean by that. Enjoy the episode and know that I don't own Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Episode 4: Epic Simulation Training and SEELE's Preparations

Some more time had gone by as it has now been roughly two months since the day of the 3rd Impact and the year is 2016. The relationships between the children have been going well and with that, something interesting occurs. The children went through a discussion over something they really wanted out of the desire of each couple wanting to be closer. So the six companion's decided on confronting Misato and Kaji about their desire after they all finish eating as everyone is sitting at the table in the following order; On the left side of the table that's closest to the stove, which is the farthest point in the kitchen from the door to exit the house, it's Kaji sitting at the left corner. Misato's on his right, Asuka then follows, and Shinji is poised at the second to last seat of that region. With the table being capable of sitting ten people, meaning there are that many chairs, Touji's at the right corner while sitting ahead of Kaji upon the other side of the table. Hikari is on Touji's left side with Rei beside her and finally Kensuke, who's confronting Shinji.

Asuka looks at the others with determination and nods at them. 

The five friends nod back at Asuka while reflecting the same tenacity, although Shinji and Hikari are a little nervous by what the 2nd Child's about to ask. 

After seeing their response, Asuka nods once again, turns to the two adults and says with a sweet, innocent tone, "Hey, Misato, Kaji..."

Both Kaji and Misato emit curiosity as Misato inquires, "Yes, Asuka?"

Asuka momentarily takes in a deep breath while shutting her eyes and then views them once more with a hint of confidence. "Well, the others and I want to ask you guys something important. It means a lot to us."

Misato displays concern as she glimpses at each of the children all the way back to Asuka. "What is it?"

Asuka answers with a pleading smile directed towards both Kaji and Misato. "We were thinking about, maybe, we all could switch out rooms so that the couples will be in the same room together."

Misato's mildly surprised at first, compliments of the sudden request, until shifting her gaze to Kaji with a bit of intrigued demeanor. "What do you think?"

Kaji sighs as he closes his eyes and lowers his head. "I don't know, Misato." The male brings his gaze to Misato while lifting his head back. "As adults, it would be irresponsible to allow teens of the opposite sex to be sleeping in the same room." He then looks at the children with some seriousness showing.

Touji gets off his chair and gestures his arms a little while retorting in a pleading manner, "Come on! You can trust us! We promise we won't do anythin' perverted!"

Kensuke chuckles with his focus set onto Touji. "You know that you being who you are completely contradicts that promise, right?"

Touji glares at Kensuke out of the corner of his eyes with annoyance portrayed. "Shut it!"

Misato watches the kids as sympathy arises. "I'm sorry, guys. Kaji's right."

Upon hearing Misato's statement, all the children groan in disappointment while Shinji's quite sad as his head is dropped since he would like to be with Asuka. He eventually realizes something, causing his eyes to widen, before reverting his vision to Misato and Kaji with a light smile. "But Misato, don't you think it will benefit you and Kaji if you let us be in the room with who want?"

Everyone snap their concentration to Shinji as they're significantly caught off guard.

Not long after, Misato's overcome by curiosity while leaning towards Shinji. "How would it benefit us?"

Shinji leans toward Misato and confidently whispers, "If each couple has a room together, wouldn't that mean Rei's no longer in your room and Kaji's no longer in mine?" The boy chuckles with his eyes closed.

Misato's temporarily confused because she doesn't quite comprehend what Shinji's implying, however, suddenly blushes after discovering the meaning and quickly pulls away from the 3rd Child to look at Kaji with excitement as she gets really close to Kaji. "Let them do it!"

Kaji's immediately baffled due to misinterpreting Misato's outburst as he slants himself rearward a bit. "What?!"

Seeing Kaji's reaction confused Misato a little prior to faintly turning red when she realizes what she said and yells with annoyance brimming, "I didn't mean literally! I meant let the couples stay in the same room!"

Kaji nervously grins while shutting his eyes and lifts his hands in front of Misato. "I knew that!" The man reopens his eyes, scratches his head with his right hand until putting both limbs down as concern surfaces and draws himself towards Misato a tad. "But what made you change your mind about that?"

Misato intently stares at Kaji with a joyful smirk. "You won't have to be in Shinji's room anymore." The purple-haired beauty giggles while hinting something inappropriate.

At first, Kaji has a confused expression from lack of understanding, however, ultimately registers Misato's implication with his eyes widening and smiles. "Oh! Now I know what you mean!" He navigates his attention to the children. "Alright, kids. We'll trust you, but don't make us regret it, okay?" 

In response, the children nod in agreement while very happy as Asuka looks at Shinji with a grin and whispers, "You did it, Shinji!" She then gives Shinji a quick kiss on the lips.

Shinji smiles as he kisses her back prior to maneuvering backwards to properly view her. "I just really wanted us to be closer."

Asuka nods at Shinji amidst joy dwelling inside her person. "Me too."

With the achievement of convincing Misato and Kaji, everyone goes to the rooms they have decided on having. Misato and Kaji get Misato's quarters, Shinji and Asuka get Shinji's, Rei and Kensuke get the room that was abandoned by Asuka and Hikari, and Touji and Hikari get Touji's. Everybody's currently content with their new living arrangements as the day goes on up to its conclusion. The next day has been scheduled to be quite different for the pilots, training with guns for self-defense purposes. This is thanks to there being the possibility that NERV can be attacked by people again. After that, the six companions will go through their first team Eva simulation for practice to see how well they work together and how they fare when fighting simulations of enemy Evas.

As they go through the gun training, it instantly becomes obvious that none of them have real experience with guns. The only one who has a lot of knowledge of guns is Kensuke since he's a military fanatic, but that doesn't make it easier for him. In Hikari's case, she hates guns and doesn't like the thought of using them. Luckily, Touji helps her persevere through her disdain a bit and this permits her to complete the exercises that have been set. Soon after the children finish that, they get ready for the simulation training. Although Kensuke and Hikari's Eva aren't completed, they can still undergo the simulation because of the training being projected through the children's individual entry plugs. This signifies that it would be similar to a video game as whatever they do in the entry plug will occur in the simulation while the children must be careful due to the risk that comes from the training.

Following the preparation for it, the children go to the simulation room and are presently in their separate entry plugs while waiting for the training to begin. Unit 00, 01 and 03 look exactly as before while Unit 02's appearance has been modified. In the case of Kensuke's Eva, it has been defined to be Eva Unit 04 because it was based on the original's design. The color is even the same, which is silver. Asuka's Unit 02 is modeled reminiscent of the Rebuild of Evangelion's instead of the original Unit 02 from the series, compliments of the damage it took during the fight against the Mass Production forcing NERV to make some changes to its appearance. In the meantime, the Eva Hikari will pilot is like Rei's Eva, but instead of blue, it's the initial color Unit 00 use to be, orange. Her Eva has been dubbed the title of 'Extra Eva' instead of having a number since the Eva's considered as a copy of Unit 00, which if needed, parts will be taken from it to help repair Unit 00 thanks to the fact that it's prone for receiving damage. Until then, Hikari has the duty of helping the other children fight.

Shinji's currently waiting patiently with his eyes closed, his head hanging downward, while thinking, "I'm a bit worried about this. Misato said earlier that we need to be careful because our sync ratio will cause us to feel the pain that the Eva feels. This could actually be as dangerous as a real fight with an enemy." He gives out a depressing sigh and slowly opens his eyes afterwards.

In the red-head's case, Asuka's observing the small screen that's to her left as it shows Shinji and notes his expression while becoming very concerned with thoughts filling her mind. "I know it must be hard for him. This simulation will put all of us at risk of getting hurt. Shinji still remembers the feeling of not being able to do anything to help me." The teen veers her concentration to the main monitor and thinks, "He'll probably have a tough time at first, but I'll be sure to make stuff easier every way I can." Determination then overruns Asuka's person while nodding to herself.

Meanwhile, Hikari's hands are shaking from anxiety, her eyes are glued to them, and mumbles, "Calm down... Just relax... I need to be calm. I don't want to hinder the others."

Touji's image promptly appears on a small screen that's on Hikari's right as he issues her a concern look. "Hey, Hikari? Are ya okay?"

Hikari's startled due to hearing Touji's voice abruptly coming from nowhere, steers her focus to him and makes a shameful smile after seeing Touji while nodding. 

In response, Touji displays a reassuring smirk while somewhat hyped up. "Don't ya worry! Remember, I'd do everythin' to protect ya! So cheer up a little! I won't break my promise, so just believe in me!" He utters that last part during him lifting his right hand to give Hikari a thumbs up and winks at her with his left eye.

Hikari blushes slightly, happily smiling at Touji, prior to nodding as she says with minor confidence shown, "Fine. I believe in you, Suzuhara."

Touji persists his attitude until Hikari's image disappears, allowing his smirk to slowly disappear and shuts his eyes amidst sighing. Afterwards, he speaks to himself while opening his eyes with sadness resonating in them, "I only hope... I don't break that promise. I don't want anythin' bad to happen to her."

At the same time, Kensuke's extremely hyper since he had been eagerly waiting for the opportunity to pilot. Even though the glasses-wearing lad understands it's only a simulation, that doesn't stop his excitement while thinking, "This is so freaking awesome!"

After Kensuke finishes that thought, Rei's image appears on a side screen that is to her boyfriend's right as a grin can be depicted upon her person. "You appear excited, Kensuke."

Kensuke hurriedly shifts his attention to Rei with a delighted smile. "Of course I am! I've been waiting for this moment for a long time. Sure it's not the real deal, but I'm still psyched!"

Rei continues to grin with a good amount of content showing. "I am glad to hear that. To be positive is a great aspect." Some fear then arises. "Be careful though."

Kensuke nods at Rei in a determined way. "You don't have to worry. I will."

Misato's voice unexpectedly comes through the intercom and says with a serious tone, "Alright, guys. Be prepared because the simulation is about to start. Remember, the whole point of this is to work together as much as possible. If you see someone having trouble, try to help them out." She briefly pauses before firmly remarking, "Now here's the situation, so listen up closely."

The children nod while attentive of Misato's instructions.

After noting their eyes on her, Misato continues to talk with no change to her conduct. "There will be a grand total of twelve Evas. They resemble the Eva Series that Asuka had to fight. Right now, you guys will be at a 2 to 1 disadvantage and the enemy Evas will be set to the highest possible difficulty. This is to check how all of you fair against strong opponents while outnumbered."

Asuka gives out an arrogant scoff as she bends forth a tad. "This will be nothing! I fought nine of those bastards and I would've beaten them if they never cheated!"

Misato rebuttals over the intercom. "Well, Asuka, this time don't stop fighting unless the enemy Evas are annihilated. So there's no possible chance they'll be capable of cheating." A teasing giggle escapes her lips.

Asuka grows annoyed for a moment, however, brushes it off while rolling her eyes. "Whatever."

Misato smiles as she's revealed to be in Central Dogma with Maya, Hyuga, Aoba, Ritsuko and Kaji. She's presently standing next to Kaji while concentration onto a giant main screen that will be demonstrating the simulation's landscape with her arms folded across her torso's anterior. "This will be interesting."

Kaji gazes at Misato out of the corner of his right eye with a grin exhibited and nods. "Yeah, we'll actually see how well they'll do. It definitely will be exciting."

Misato navigates her head to Kaji  while nodding as well with a hint of concern commencing to portray itself. "True. Let's pray nothing bad happens though." Her worry promptly rises as she turns her head to the main screen. "The simulation is actually too dangerous for it to be just training. One wrong move and any one of the pilots can be severely injured. I hope they'll be alright."

Kaji turns his sight to the main screen with seriousness showing. "I feel the same way."

With Kaji's words being the last thing stated in Central Dogma, the simulation commences as the pilots bear witness to the landscape they will be fighting, which is comprised of a rocky and vast while also containing multiple mountains. For some peculiar reason however, the pilots find themselves spread out in different areas and are confused since this is supposed to be a team based exercise.

Shinji portrays distress a tad while leaning onward as he examines the vicinity in panic. "What the...?! Where's everybody?!"

Misato makes a concerned expression, turning her head to the left so she can view Maya and sternly utters, "Why are they separated? They're supposed to work together. How can they do that when they aren't anywhere near each other?!"

Ritsuko suddenly stands to Maya's left as she's looking at Misato with her hands in her coat pockets and interrupts before Maya has a chance to say anything in a firm tone, "It was determined that we need to consider the possibilities of the pilots being divided. We must discern how they handle themselves with no one else around." The blonde commandeers her attention towards the main screen. "Afterwards, we'll have them work on teamwork if they manage to locate each other."

Misato thinks to herself while watching Ritsuko as confusion is radiating, "But it would be better if they work together and not go it alone." She temporarily pauses as she gaze at the large monitor with worry and thinks, "I understand there are moments a pilot can be fighting on their own, however, I'd prefer to never have that be a consideration for the sake of the children."

That thought having been accomplished, the focus changes to the children as each one goes through different qualms with what's happening in the simulation.

Hikari's currently tense amidst checking her surroundings in a frantic manner. "Why are we separated?! This isn't what Misato said was going to happen!" She then tries to calm herself down while setting her vision toward her hands that are remaining onto the controls with concern. "Where are you, Suzuhara...?"

In the meantime, Rei passively looks around, maneuvering her Eva with caution, and mutters, "I must find where the others are. The sooner we are united, the sooner we will be able to fight as a team." The teenager quickly notices out of the corner of her left eye that something has been thrown at her. This promptly leads to Rei responding by moving her Eva to dodge it, and after doing thar, aims her gaze to the object that she eluded. It's then revealed to be a miniature Lance of Longinus, causing the blue-haired girl to concentrate at the direction that the weapon came from prior to seriousness forming upon her face when she sees an enemy Eva that's not too far away. *Side Note: I will be numbering the Simulation Evas via their appearance in the training. So the first Eva is titled Eva 01, the second one that shows up will be Eva 02 and so on.*

Enemy Eva 01 smiles in an evil way at Unit 00, spreading out its wings, as it's about to attack. 

Rei reacts to the foe's action through Unit 00 pulling out its Progressive Knife with its right hand while taking a defensive pose. That way, she'll be ready when the opposing Eva launches its assault attacks and continues talking to herself. "I have to remember that I will feel pain if it hurts Unit 00. It is necessary that I avoid any damage." Rei tightens her grip on the controls as she waits for Enemy Eva 01 to make a move. 

Following a minuscule period of immobility, the adversary hurriedly lunges towards Unit 00 amidst extending its arms outward in the attempt to grab the blue Eva. 

Rei swiftly responds via generating Unit 00's A.T. Field, but the mechanical beast penetrates it and collides into her Eva. As a result, the red-eyed girl feels a bit of a shock at first until regaining her composure and retaliates with the Prog Knife by thrusting it towards the enemy. An instance later, the knife is successful in going through the Enemy Eva 01's A.T. Field thanks to it Unit 00's A.T. Field neutralizing it while stabbing the white-colored opponent's left rib region.

Enemy Eva 01 immediately screeches with its head vaguely cocked rearward while receding a tad. 

Rei registers her opportunity prior to bringing out another Prog Knife with Unit 00's left hand and then stabs the enemy's right cheek as the immense force applied makes the white behemoth lose its balance.

Enemy Eva 01 is about to fall over, however, abruptly prevents that and tries to reach out towards Unit 00 in desperation. 

Unit 00 hastily pulls out both knives from the foe's body during its evasion of that effort deployed by the harpy-like machine via taking a step back. Right after that, Rei's Eva thrusts the blades into the white giant's chest, leading to it cracking. 

Enemy Eva 01 cries even louder from the pain as its arms are stretched towards opposite sides of its being.

Seeing that, Rei comments to herself with urgency demonstrated, "I must destroy it, entirely!" The chick repeats her previous motion to drive the knives into the white Eva with as much impact as possible, resulting in them completely going through the enemy's body and exit out the posterior region. 

Enemy Eva 01 produces one last horrific screech before haphazardly stopping as a light begins shining from where Unit 00 had pierced through. 

Rei becomes quite concerned at the sight of the rays while bending forward a little. "What is that light?"

Misato's voice suddenly echoes from the intercom in a panicking method. "It's going to blow up!"

Rei's surprised by Misato's outburst while peering upward until closing her eyes with her head lowered and braces herself. As soon as she does that, a huge explosion is created from Enemy Eva 01 erupting like Misato declared. After some time passes, the wave of destruction and the smoke that was caused by the explosion disappear while revealing that Unit 00 is alright, having merely sustained minimal damage. Simultaneously, the blue-haired female continues within the entry plug as she breathes heavily with her head down. "That hurt. If it wasn't for my A.T. Field, it would have been a lot worse."

That said, the scene quickly switches with the worse case scenario presently occurring to Hikari as she's surrounded by three adversaries and seems like she will be required to face them alone.

Hikari looks at every one of the enemy Evas with stress exhibited amidst yelling, "Oh my God! What do I do?!" The brown-haired girl tightly shuts her eyes as she drops her head. "Please, help me, Suzuhara!"

Misato shows dread while observing the screen that has Hikari's image prior to mounting her sight onto Maya. "Is there any of the other pilots nearby?!"

After hearing Misato's question, Maya emits a sad conduct and slowly shakes her head at the Colonel. 

Misato promptly grits her teeth with irritation brimming as she quickly reverts her vision to the main monitor and shouts in a commanding tone through her microphone that's worn on her collar, "To all other pilots: Hikari's in trouble! If you can, go to her aid as fast as you passible!"

Asuka listens to Misato's order while fairly worried about her friend's safety as she scans the area with seriousness and fervently rebuttals, "I'll go!" She then thinks while aggravation mixes in, "I can't believe how they singled her out so quickly! She has the lowest sync ratio and she's still not used to the thought of fighting!" Asuka's about to begin searching for Hikari, however, is interrupted when an enemy Eva appears right in front of her. This increases the agitation consuming the German female as she glares at it and sarcastically yells, "Great! Now I have one of those bastards in my way!" Asuka shuts her eyes and takes a deep breath to relax before reopening them to issue intensity toward the harpy-like foe. "I'm going to take you down in the blink of an eye, first!"

During that, Hikari strives to get away from the enemy Evas by feverishly maneuvering around to figure out an escape route. Unfortunately, she's unable to lose the mechanical beasts because of their determination and starts to panic while frantically glancing at her surroundings. "Darn it! They won't let me leave!"

Enemy Eva 03 is chasing after the Extra Eva from behind, wielding an evil grin as it's pointing its miniature lance at the orange machine. 

Hikari swiftly turns her Eva to confront Enemy Eva 03, having it stop in the process, and displays a terrified composition while trying to navigate her Eva backwards as it luckily dodges the extended strike of the enemy. She persists her Eva's journey until feeling like she's at a safe distance. After that, the Extra Eva halts while Hikari attempts to regain her composure as she profoundly inhales. "That was scary. I came really close to getting hit." 

Suddenly, a shadow covers Hikari's Eva, causing her to rapidly look upward while significantly startled.

Enemy Eva 04's right above the Extra Eva as it descends toward the orange behemoth while pointing its miniature lance downward. 

Hikari's stunned by the unprecedented appearance of the opponent and shuts her eyes while lowering her head as she readies herself for the collision. 

Enemy Eva 04's lance is a measly second away from striking Hikari's Eva, but it's blocked due to a Prog Knife being held by a gigantic, black, mechanical hand. 

Hikari hears the clash of the two weapons while swiftly setting her concentration to the source and witnesses that Unit 03 had just saved her from the adversary's assault. This concludes with the teen smiling as she happily yells, "Suzuhara!"

Unit 04 promptly pushes the enemy rearward as its feet land upon the ground. Following that, Touji turns his head to the left, seeing Hikari's image on the side screen, and remarks with a confident smirk, "I promised that I would protect ya!"

Hikari sharply nods at Touji. "Yes, you did."

Misato sighs out of relief, vaguely putting her head down with her eyes shut. "Thank goodness." An abrupt explosion then transpires from the simulation while resulting in Misato resetting her attention to the main screen, which deviates to the area that the blast happened, with concern radiating. "What was that?!"

Hyuga turns his chair slightly towards the left to view Misato during the presentation of a reassuring grin on his person. "Don't sweat it. That was only Asuka defeating one of the enemy Evas."

Misato gazes at Hyuga with surprise taking over and yells out in disbelief, "Really?!"

Hyuga nods at Misato while turning back around to focus onto monitor that's installed in front of him. "I've been keeping an eye on her since the main screen was on Extra Eva and Unit 03." He then quickly types something and looks upward when he finished. "Check it out."

Misato promptly sees the main screen displaying Eva Unit 02 as it's standing proudly in a victory pose after defeating Enemy Eva 02 and smiles while thinking, "Same old Asuka." She gives out a short laugh before saying in a commanding tone, "Don't just stand there, Asuka! Go help the others! Touji and Hikari are located east from your current location!"

Asuka nods with her confidence increasing. "I'm on it!" The red-head quickly has her Eva turn and go in the direction Misato instructed her. "Hold on, guys! The Great Asuka is on her way!"

Misato temporarily grins out of content because of Asuka's declaration until hearing Hikari screaming through the intercom, leading to the Colonel hastily navigating her attention back towards Hikari and Touji while significantly concern. "What's going on?!" Her question is eventually answered via the massive monitor abruptly portraying Unit 03 soaring in the air prior to its back crashing into a mountain.

Touji's expression reflects pain while maintaining his hold on the controls amidst momentarily looking downward before showing irritation and peering forth. "Those bastards fight dirty! They ain't supposed to be working together! That's what we're supposed to do!"

Simultaneously, Hikari watches Unit 03 as she's very worried. "Suzuhara! Are you alright?!"

Touji tries to regain some of his composure while Unit 03 pushes itself off the mountain to stand. "Yeah, I'm fine." He's then surprised by something he sees as he rushes to shout, "Hikari, behind you!" 

Thanks to Touji's cry, Hikari veers her concentration in accordance and depicts that two of the opposing Evas are dashing towards her. This causes the teenager to gasp in a startled manner while striving to back away, but isn't quick enough as both Enemy Eva 03 and 04 are now seconds away from striking the Extra Eva with their lances at the same time. All Hikari can do is tense up as the duo attack almost comes into contact with her Eva, immensely terrifying the girl. 

Concurrently, Touji passionately yells with Unit 03 positioning itself ahead of the assault as the right side of its stomach and the joint of the left shoulder are pierced. In conclusion the jock screams out of agony while grasping his body with both hands as the LCL in the entry plug turns a bit reddish and rapidly produces multiple streams of bubbles throughout. This represents the effectiveness of the two attacks through the synchronization between Touji and his Eva.

Listening to Touji's scream horrifies Hikari while desperately shouting, "Suzuhara!" 

The simulated Evas swiftly display an evil smile upon their strike's success, lift Unit 03 off the ground with their lance and hurl it into the air above them. The momentum throws Unit 03 behind the harpy-like behemoths as Touji loses consciousness in midair from the intense pain. After Touji passed out, Unit 03 heads towards the ground as it's moments away from crashing into it. 

Hikari shows a greater sum of distraught as she observes Unit 03's descent until noting Unit 04 catching it at the last second and is fairly astonished. "Aida!"

Kensuke issues a serious look at Unit 03 while sustaining it within his Eva's arms prior to carrying his companion towards a mountain and lies it against the structure. After that, Unit 04 confronts the two opponents as the glasses-endowed lad's really pissed that they hurt his friend while saying in a demanding tone, "Colonel Katsuragi! Give me some weapons to work with!"

Misato's surprised at first due to the way Kensuke's acting, however, quickly smiles as she focuses onto Aoba. "Give him what he wants!" 

Aoba firmly nods at Misato in response to her order, turns to his screen and starts typing as Kensuke waits patiently while staring the enemy down. 

Suddenly, a pair of giant buildings come out from the ground as part of the simulation while opening up to reveal two N2 Missile Launchers, which are round in shape like an RPG missile with a brown coloring.

Kensuke smirks amidst witnessing the missile launchers while rapidly making Unit 04 grab them, holding one in each hand, and possesses the end of the launchers tucked beneath the mechanical beast's limbs to maintain a firm grip upon them. He promptly points the weapons towards the enemy before exhibiting confidence as he passionately states, "Let's see if you like this!" Kensuke carefully takes aim for a second and fires both N2 Missile Launchers at the enemy Evas. 

Hikari's stunned at first, but once she sees the projectiles flying towards the simulations, hastily retreats so she doesn't get caught by the possible explosion that will be made. 

In response, Enemy Eva 03 and 04 spread out their wings as they're about to fly away in opposite directions from one another to elude the ammunition. Unfortunately for them, the duo's path are blocked via both Unit 00 and Unit 02 appearing without warning.

Asuka smiles while staring down Enemy Eva 03 since it's the one she's blocking with Unit 02's arms crossed as she laughs proudly. "Where the hell do you think you're going?!"

Rei coldly stares down Enemy Eva 04. "I'll answer that... Nowhere." She lightly smirks with her eyes closed.

Enemy Eva 03 and 04 simultaneously back step a bit until looking towards the N2 Missiles that are on the verge of making contact with them, ultimately leading to a giant blast when collision transpires while annihilating both of them. 

Asuka and Rei feel a huge shock-wave from the explosion due to the two pilots being moderately close to the foes, tightly gripping their controls for leverage while their eyes are shut. Following the dissipation of the eruption, they open their eyes while registering the two enemy Evas having been defeated. 

At that exact instance, everyone in Central Dogma cheer at the children's accomplishment.

Kensuke also sees the conclusion as he yells from joy while throwing a punch in front of him with his right hand, "Alright! My first victory!" He then chuckles while placing his hand back on the controls.

Asuka veers her vision to Unit 04 with a bit of irritation while mumbling, "Don't be so full of it. If it wasn't for me and Wonder-girl, those bastards would've dodged the missiles easily."

In the meantime, Hikari's amazed during her observation of the others and doesn't realize that Enemy Eva 05 is right behind her as it points its lance at her Eva's posterior. 

The white-colored behemoth swiftly thrusts the pronged tool in the attempt of piercing the orange Eva's back, however, fails because of Unit 03 catching the lance with its left hand as Touji's greatly enraged while the entry plug's LCL color has reverted to normal.

Hikari notices the sound that's made from the lance's ensnarement and commandeers her head towards the left, which is where Unit 03 is standing. Right after that, the girl portrays surprise upon depicting Unit 03's presence while gasping a little. 

Kensuke's equally rendered bewildered as he glance at the sector he had put Unit 03 before concentrating on Unit 03's currently located again. "I thought Touji was knocked out!"

Touji immediately shouts, not acknowledging Kensuke's words whatsoever, "Ya bastard! Quit tryin' to hurt my girl!" Unit 03 hurriedly shoves the lance backwards with a lot of force as the lance's bottom region pierces the ribs of the enemy Eva. 

As a result, Enemy Eva 05 roars out in pain, grabbing the lance with its other hand and strives to pull the weapon out through both appendages.

Then, with determination taking over Touji, Unit 03 draws out its Prog Knife from its left pylon via the oppossing hand and powerfully stabs the western side of the adversary's neck. 

Thanks to that, Enemy Eva 05 roars in agony again while foolishly removing its left hand from holding the lance so it can reach for Unit 03's right hand. 

Touji instantly ceases his opportunity, and with all the strength he can muster, totally drives the lance into the ribs of the enemy as this results in the lance going completely through the enemy's body at a diagonal angle while piercing the enemy Eva's core.

Misato snaps her attention towards Maya with concern brimming. "Did he beat it?! It didn't explode like the others!"

Maya gazes at Misato while demonstrating an assuring smile. "He indeed did. Not all of them will blow up when their core unit is destroyed, so don't worry."

Misato sighs out of relief as she briefly closes her eyes prior to setting her gaze to the giant screen again with a smirk forming. "Good."

Abruptly, Hyuga's shocked by what his monitor's showing and then steers his focus towards Misato through turning his head to the left while containing a stressed out expression. "Colonel Katsuragi! You won't believe this!" 

Both Misato and Kaji urgently mount their vision onto Hyuga. 

Hyuga soon yells with a distraught tone while retaining his sight on Misato, "Unit 01 has gone Berserk!"

Misato's baffled after listening to Hyuga's outburst as she released a gasp until reverting her attention to the enormous screen that has just altered the image to display Unit 01 and desperately shouts, "Shinji!" 

It's immediately revealed that Shinji's consumed with rage as the purple Eva is on top of the harpy-like beast while ripping the opponent apart. As Unit 01 continues to do this, it can be discern around Shinji's Eva that there are multiple remains of other mechanical foes lying on the ground while blood is splattered everywhere, signifying that the teen had defeated three Evas while dismantling them as well. Now, Shinji's focused on his fourth opponent and the simulation has been screeching out in pain the whole time.

Kaji hastily yells to Shinji while profoundly concerned, "Calm down, Shinji!" The adult shifts his attention to Misato. "Why is he acting like this?!"

Ritsuko calmly replies for Misato while making eye contact with Kaji. "It must have something to do with what happened to Asuka."

Misato exhibits shock as she looks at Ritsuko and thinks, "That's right! I had told Shinji to go help Asuka when she fought against the Eva Series! Sadly, he didn't reach her in time and saw Unit 02 in that horrific state..." Misato's filled with sadness, sighs with her eyes focused on the floor and utters, "He must still be angry with himself. Seeing the simulations that are purposely made to resemble those exact Evas pushed him over the edge."

Kaji sees the depression on Misato's face, resulting in him becoming sad as well, prior to directing his gaze towards Maya and the others while calmly saying with seriousness arising, "Terminate the simulation."

Aoba turns his chair to the left a tad so he can view Kaji while maintaining his right hand on the keys' of his screen and shows some confusion. "Terminate?! But this supposed to continue until all enemy Evas are defeated!"

Kaji calmly looks at Aoba. "That may be true, however, the main purpose was to display teamwork, which we did witness. That ought to be good enough."

Concern mixes in as he glimpses at Maya and Hyuga while noting that they're eyes are locked onto him. Afterwards, the pair shrugs with uncertainty established before all three of them return their attention towards their individual screens and start typing due to conceding with Kaji's order.

Meanwhile, Misato peers at the main monitor once more and speaks into her microphone with a sad tone, "Shinji... No one can blame you for being upset, but please... Calm down..." 

Shinji ignores Misato's request while relentlessly tearing the enemy Eva into shreds, even though the harpy-like behemoth has already stopped functioning. 

Worrying her further, Misato cries out with a commanding voice, "Shinji! You can stop now! The training's over!"

Shinji keeps neglecting Misato's plea as there's almost nothing left of the adversary until the simulation suddenly disappears with the 3rd Child's entry plug turning off. This snaps the teenager out of his rage while awestruck as he analyzes the entry plug that's presently dark. "What the...?! What happened?!"

Asuka rebuttals through the intercom as a somber and caring tone are reflected, "The simulation is finished, Shinji. You don't have to be angry anymore."

Shinji deviates his concentration to the ceiling. "Really? When did it end?" The boy rest his gaze at the left section of the entry plug's floor with concern radiating. "Now that I think about it, I don't even remember what I was even doing."

Asuka focuses on the right of her entry plug and mutters in a depressed manner, "It's best that you don't remember."

Following that, the scene diverts to Chairmen Keel with four members of SEELE while sitting at a table that has been seen a few times in the NGE series, but is a different room because of them required to relocate. *Side Note: I'll be calling the four members that sit with Keel, SEELE 02 to SEELE 05 since it seems like they are the most important members next to Keel*

Keel stares at SEELE 04 with a nonchalant demeanor. "Are the primary preparations ready?"

SEELE 04 nods at Keel as he's brimming a solemn conduct. "Yes. Evas 01 through 08 have been completed. Our tech team is currently working on Evas 09 through 15 as we speak."

Keel grins amidst viewing his colleagues. "Excellent. A different challenge will be instilled upon NERV with each of them, correct?"

SEELE 05 confidently retorts to Keel's inquiry. "Indeed, the majority do. Shall we have the ones that are done launch an attack on NERV?"

Keel specifies his attention to SEELE 05 with no real emotion portrayed. "That is unnecessary." He looks at SEELE 02. "Is that not right?"

SEELE 02 firmly nods at Keel with his arms interlocked. "Precisely." The male focuses onto the other members. "I made the decision to give out the order to send the first three installed with the Dummy Plug System and the S2 Engines that were recently completed."

SEELE 04 arrogantly smiles while observing SEELE 02. "We certainly wield the advantage then. They only contain Unit 01 with an S2 Engine. Our Evas will pick them apart, one by one."

Keel delivers a serious expression toward all four of them. "Let's not assume that. Even though we do have the advantage of the S2 engines, they own pilots with immense potential."

SEELE 03 nods in agreement while viewing the other members. "Keel is right. Plus, my resource has informed me that they presently possess more pilots. In addition, they used the Mass Production Evas' remains to remake Unit 03, making copies of Unit 00 and the original Unit 04."

SEELE 02 focuses his attention onto Keel while retaining his seriousness from earlier. "Speaking of which, when will we be using ours?"

Keel calmly looks back at SEELE 02. "We will use them when our ace is prepared."

All members promptly nod at Keel in acceptance.
