The Yellow Submarine Fanfiction
A/N: I just realized that I have HELP! On dvd so that means I can get subtitles... Hopefully, if you know anyone who knows what the bloody hell they say half the time please let me know.
For now I shall continue the yellow submarine.
Now some people may know this or maybe they don’t but the Beatles didn’t voice their cartoon characters in the yellow submarine.
The person who did the voice of George (Peter Batten) got into some trouble half way through the making of the film so the voice of Ringo, the chief blue meanie (Paul Angelis) had to do George as well.
Paul Angelis wasn’t the only one doing three characters.
Dick Emery did Jeremy (No Where Man), Lord Mayor, and Max (Chief Meanie minion)
Geoff Hughs did Paul
And Lance Percival as Old/Young Fred
It is only at the end of the film do we see the Beatles to finish the credits off with a song.
Chapter 2 Help!
It took us a bit longer than expected before we reached what we hoped was a friendly place that will answer our call.
Now my uncle thinks this is silly, but I truly feel as though the yellow submarine already knew who could help us, I mean I know it wasn't uncle's sense of direction that got us to… whatever this place was.
I had finally had time to mourn for my hair pulling the dead buds from it, thankfully not all of them were dead but they turned back into baby buds as if frightened to come out of their protection. I do not blame them one bit I had half the mind to just get out of the submarine.
But I couldn't do that to Uncle Fred and certainly not to the people of Pepperland and the Lord Mayor. I couldn't let them down.
I was just sitting in one of the seats, looking at all the buttons and knobs and levers the ship had, however there was one that grabbed my attention. It was black but with white letters on it, as I took a closer look I saw the words 'The Beatles' it wasn't the most interesting but it was the only thing that had words on it. It was winking at me brightly and I could feel the submarine groan as if telling to push the button.
I looked to where my uncle was oiling a few gear, too busy to take notice of what I was planning on doing.
"I hope you are right." I whispered to the submarine before I pressed the button.
The next thing I knew a loud horn was blown and both my uncle Fred and I flew about as the submarine went full speed and the next thing I knew it stopped making Uncle Fred and I fly once again.
"What in tarnation was that?" My uncle asked.
"I-I-I pressed a button." I told him honestly.
Uncle Fred sighed and was about to say something that I could only tell was how I was not to touch anything when he was interrupted by… music. The submarine really liked to play music doesn't it?
Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people
Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been,
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for?
"Hey uncle, look." I said, gaining his attention. "There are people just like us… only with no color; do you think the Blue got them to?"
"Well they are moving about so I can say no, but I am not sure." My uncle replied. "Let's just look a bit more, maybe someone with more color."
"Good idea." I commented before going downstairs to where the sub scope was.
All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?
Father Mckenzie writing the words of a sermon that no one will hear
No one comes near.
Look at him working, darning his socks in the night when there's nobody there
What does he care?
"Not exactly the most cheery music is it?" I asked.
"I am sure it is just like a scan of sorts for the submarine." Uncle Fred explained.
"So, the submarine is looking for an Eleanor Rigby or a Father Mckenzie?" I wondered out loud.
“I wasn't the one to press the button Nemo now please get back to searching." My uncle commanded.
"Yes dear." I muttered looking back into the scope.
All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?
Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people
As we flew around this city I was surprised at some of the things I was seeing, there were steel contraptions that drove down and up streets, the people around here still looked black and white not one was in color and I was almost losing hope.
Eleanor Rigby died in the church and was buried along with her name
Nobody came
Father Mckenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave
No one was saved
…Honestly the submarine was not helping in cheering me up. That is…
All the lonely people (ah, look at all the lonely people)
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people (ah, look at all the lonely people)
Where do they all belong?
Until I spotted a man around my age whom was watching as an orange balloon floated by. He is a quite colorful lad what with his red and black striped jacket, a purple tie with a picture of another tie but the color was bright orange.
I had to do a double take, he looked quite familiar but I wiped that from my mind, I found someone in color.
"Uncle, uncle!" I called. "I found one."
"You did!" Uncle Fred exclaimed as he slid down the ladder and ran over to me. "Let me see!"
I moved to the side jumping in excitement as uncle Fred took a look.
"By Neptune's nibbles you have Nemo." He said to me smiling. "Quick now! Navigate our way to him."
"Aye, Aye Admiral!" I saluted him before running to the ladder and slid up and grasped the wheel.
We followed the strange fellow through the streets, doing our best to hide from his sight, but I guess we were not good as hiding as we thought. However we were able to follow him to his house and parked the yellow submarine.
"Hey uncle?" I said looking from the window. "How exactly are we going to do this? I mean we can't just go up to the house and cry for…? Uncle?"
I looked around the empty submarine before looking out once more and fell in disbelief. There was my over dramatic uncle beating at the door crying for help. I gave a sigh and made my way out of the submarine and crossed my arms watching my uncle.
"Oh uncle." I sighed.
"Help! Help! Help!" my uncle cried out.
"Thanks I don't need any." A voice said through the door.
"No, he means us, we need help." I explained as the mail slot opened.
"Oh really?" the voice through the slot inquired.
"Help!" my uncle shouted, making wince, I think I saw the eyes of the man through the mail slot wince as well. "Won't you please, please help us?"
"Uncle you are being ridiculous." I muttered messaging my temples as my uncle made poises as he continued his pleas for help.
"Be specific." The man asked as if uncle's over dramatic yelling was nothing out of the ordinary.
I mean yeah it was important to get help but this was just embarrassing. When did a simple walk up to a person and ask become such a horrible idea?
My uncle started speaking gibberish as some words came out here and there.
"Is he like this often?" the man asked.
"Only before dinner." I replied, getting a chuckle from him.
"Submarine, explosions, and BLUE MEANIES!" my uncle shouted at the top of his lungs as he fell to his knees.
"What you two need is…" the man through the slot began to say before my uncle interrupted him.
"'H' for hurry, 'E' for urgent." My uncle began as he twirled about. "'L' for love me! And 'P' for p-p-please, help?"
(After watching this scene, who did not start doing this when asking for help?.... I DID!)
"… Wow uncle you could be a cheerleader." I said looking down at him as he was once again on his knees before the green door.
Before he could say anything the door slowly opened, we both looked at each other before making our way inside the place. Uncle was tip toeing through the door as I was walking slowly through when the green door slams closed making uncle and I jump in surprise. We looked at all the doors and made a wild guess as he went through a door.
Before I closed the door I could have sworn a saw an unidentified flying cupcake fly by the door. I shook my head and blinked a bit before following after my uncle.
We came into a large room where there were four large stair cases; I was surprised to see the steel contraption I saw in the sitting being driven by the man before as the machine walked down the stairs. It was quite something to see that was for sure.
Once the machine made it to the bottom it squealed around before coming to a screeching halt in front of my uncle as I quickly dodged from getting run over.
The man stood up from the machine. "Oh your story has touched me heart, my name is Ringo, now jump in, we'll get me friends."
I smiled in relief at him before jumping in beside him while Uncle Fred went into the back.
"Oh bless you!" my Uncle thanked him.
Ringo looked to me confused. "Did I sneeze?"
I shook my head confused myself. "We thank you for helping us out Ringo, my name is Nemo and this is my Uncle Fred but he goes by Old Fred."
"Well nice to meet you both, now let's go get John first before we get the others." Ringo said as he started his 'car' as he called it and made our way back to the hallway.
"Just park it here." Uncle Fred told Ringo.
"I'll just park it here." Ringo agreed as he turned off his car and got out, followed by uncle and myself.
We walked into a room where there were displays of junk food that made me kind of hungry just by looking at them, they looked so real.
“Hey, what would your friends be doing here?" uncle asked looking at the displays as well.
"Displaying." Ringo answered.
"Displaying what?" I asked looking to him.
Ringo turned and grinned at me. "Displaying around."
I snorted. "Nice."
"I do my best." He told me and we went into the other room.
While the last room was displays of food, this room was filled of statues, uncle Fred was very keen on a blonde woman in a white dress and a mole on her upper lip while I was looking at the couple that looked like they were about to dance.
"Can't we take one of these?" uncle asked, still looking at the blonde.
"No." Ringo shook his head, not stopping. "I only work this with me mates."
I turned to look at him confused, "Wait, what?"
He didn't explain as he opened another door and let me in first before following me with Uncle coming from behind.
Once we entered the room I came to a stop making Ringo bump into me than my uncle to bump into me. I would have fell over weren't it not Ringo's deep thinking to grab my arms.
"Frankenstein?" Uncle exclaimed.
"Oh yeah I used to go out with his sister." Ringo told him.
"His sister?" my uncle asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah. Phyllis." Ringo nodded before walking towards the lever. "Hey, I wonder what would happen if I pulled this lever."
"You mustn't do that!" uncle and I warned.
Ringo looked back to us and shrugged. "Can't help it, I'm a born lever-pooler."
And with that he pulled the lever; there was some sort of electricity going on before it spat out a bright ball that landed on uncle hat with a pop causing smoke to come out of his hat. Just as uncle turned away to wipe off the ash, Frankenstein decided it was time to wake up.
"Uh, uncle." I whimpered a bit, gaining uncle attention as he froze as well at the sight of the giant getting up from the examination table.
Frankenstein looked down at us and smiled before taking out a vial of some sort of purple concoction before a scream was heard and the giant zombie man transformed into a man around my height wearing glasses, had a moustache, and wore a Hawaiian shirt under a black coat.
He blinked a few times as if surprised. "Hey Ringo, I've just had the strangest dream."
Ringo shook his head at the man. "I warned you not to eat on an empty stomach. Now listen to Old Fred."
"Why can't I listen to the pretty girl next to him?" the man asked with a pout.
I blushed, and before anyone could say anything, Uncle Fred was speaking gibberish again. I rolled my eyes and face palmed my face as the man whom I am guessing is John look from uncle, to me then to Ringo before putting his arm around Ringo's shoulder and walked a little bit away from uncle and me.
"Submarine, Explosions and BLUE MEANIES!" my uncle finished. "What do you think?"
John looked down to Ringo and opened his mouth. "I think he needs a rehearsal."
I snorted.
After once again introducing me, the four of us made our way pass the statues and displays before coming out and back to the hallways… I swear I just saw an elephant wearing shoes, a little man and a spinning top beside us just now.
"When do we leave?" John asked us.
"Well, Ringo said there were three of you so let's get the other two." I suggest readjusting my hat a bit, they might not have seen a girl with flowers growing in her hair before, may raise some questions we don't have time to answer.
"Alright then, what day is it today?" John asked.
"Sitarday." Ringo answered.
"Sitar- what?" I asked, tilting my head curiously.
"Then George will be here." John pointed to the door next to his.
What I saw blew my mind; I was surrounded by the sounds of sitars playing and videos of flowers blooming forward and backwards and so many things. What caught my attention though was a man was standing on top of what looked like the world with the wind blowing through his clothes and hair with his arms crossed.
"George, what are you doing up there?" Ringo asked, looking as confused as me.
"That only one of the things I'd like to know." I mumbled looking around myself.
"Now, what is it, Ringo?" a voice came from behind.
I jumped and swerved my head around to see George driving Ringo's car up and down. I looked back into the room to find that the George up there was gone.
"Is there a matter you'd like to take up?" George asked as he drove by again before coming back and stopping the car. "Or down?"
"This chap here..." Ringo started pointing to my uncle who was behind him.
And cue uncle's gibberish, George did not look as amused by this as the other two was as he yawn and scratched his cheek but still paid attention none the less.
John, Ringo and I looked at each other as uncle came to the end and spoke in unison with Uncle Fred. "… BLUE MEANIES!"
Uncle looked at the three of us blinking a bit.
George rolled his eyes. "You're nuts, the pair of you."
And with that he began driving Ringo's car once more. Ringo seemed to now realize this as he made a face.
"Hey, wait a minute, that's my car." He said pointing at George and the car.
"How do you know it's your car?" George asked.
"I'd know it anywhere." Ringo told him.
"What's it look like, then?" George inquired.
"Well, it's red with yellow wheels." Ringo replied.
With a honk George was driving a different car. I blinked and rubbed my eyes a bit.
"I mean, blue with orange wheels." Ringo corrected himself.
Yet with a different honk George rolled up in a different car only this time it was yellow with light blue wheels.
George turned to us and tapped his temple. "It's all in the mind."
I watched as the boys all climbed into the car but began arguing on where to sit, I stayed where I was and waited it out.
"Come on move over, I'm driving." Ringo told George.
"I got here first." George pointed out.
"I'll drive, if you like." John offered.
"No, you sit in the middle." George said to him.
"No, I'm sitting in the middle." Ringo said.
"You said you were driving." John said.
"I am driving!" Ringo retorted.
"I'll get in the back, then." George told them as he sat down before looking over to me. "Well? Are you coming?"
… These men are going to drive me insane.
I shook my head. "No I don’t think there is enough room for me, I will wait here for you guys here till you get the last of you then just come and pick me up alright?"
"Sounds good." John said with a nod. "We will be back in a minute.
I gave a nod and waved to my uncle as they drove off; I gave a smile and turned around to the next door to explore a bit when I heard an explosion and screeching tyres. I turned my head to the sound and didn't hear anything other than something crash and making a lot of noise before everything went silent.
I raised an eyebrow as I saw Ringo, John, George and Uncle Fred running back towards me.
"I know you lot said you would be back in a minute but…"
"We decided that walking would be the better idea." George told me as the four caught up to me.
"… Okay." I said before standing beside John as he opened the door.
The next thing I knew we were looking into a room where a huge ape was looking through the window at the red haired lady that was sleeping in her bed. The ape grinned as he reached his arm through the window with a crash waking up the woman. The woman began to scream in terror as the ape's hand came slowly towards her bed.
"Do you think we're interrupting something?" George asked.
I slowly turned to him with a raised eyebrow.
He caught me looking at him. "What?"
"I think so." John answered before closing the door.
"We'd better find Paul, hadn't we?" Ringo asked.
Paul? Why does that name sound familiar, heck everything about these guys were familiar!
"Uh yeah Ringo." I replied. "I thought that was what we are doing?"
"That is what we are doing love." Ringo said to me. "But I was just wandering just where exactly we can find him."
"Probably through this door." John said as he opened the door.
At first it was just a face washing table… that is until a train popped out of nowhere and was coming straight towards us. John pulled me away from the door and slammed it shut just as the train almost came upon us and leaned against the door in alarm.
"It's all in the mind." George told John and I, twirling his finger around his temple.
"So you say." I said narrowing my eyes at him.
John looked down the hallway and pointed. "Let's try one of those doors."
"Good idea." Ringo said leading the way and opened the door.
Thankfully there was no large ape or an oncoming train charging us but cheers from an audience and a band going on with a modern Mozart playing the piano. I couldn't see who it was what with Ringo, George and John in the way.
Ringo closed the door and looked back to his mates.
"Yes, they do look very nice don't they?" George said nodding his head.
Ringo nodded. "Yes, they do."
"They do, though, don't they?" John asked over George's shoulder.
"Yes, they do." George replied.
“Don't dey, dough?" Ringo asked.
George looked back at Ringo with a confused look. "Dough?"
"What are you guys talking about!?" I exclaimed.
My answer was interrupted as the door opened up and boy with a mischievous smile came out, readjusting his tie as a bouquet of flowers flew through the door that he caught in his hand without even looking.
"Don't ask." Ringo told both George and I.
"Dat's dough." George said.
"Knock it off George." I told him, just slightly annoyed with the conversation.
George looked to me with a pout before looking back to Paul, I am surprised uncle hadn't said anything yet.
"What's the matter, fellas?" the guy asked. "Blue Meanies?"
Wait… how did he know- oh forget it.
The boy looked over to me and grinned. "Well hello love, my name is Paul and who are you?"
"My name is Nemo, this is my uncle Fred, also known as Old Fred." I introduced us. "We came here to ask for your help in defeating the Blue Meanies."
"Ah, well, since I really have no need for these, I think these beautiful flowers are much suited for a beautiful lady." Paul said, offering his flowers to me.
I knew my face went red and I gently grasped the bouquet of flowers. "Oh, thank you."
"Well, lads, what do you think?" Uncle Fred finally spoke up as we all began walking towards the green door.
"I think that-"
"Remember, there'll be rough seas ahead." Uncle interrupted John. "So, what do you think?"
"Well, then, umm-"
"Pounding overwhelming waves!" he this time interrupted Paul. "What do you think of that?"
"Well I think-" George began.
"As a matter of fact, I-" John cut in.
"I think-" they all said in unison.
"Well?" uncle asked.
"I've forgotten." They all said.
I ran ahead of them to the submarine that instantly opened its doors to me. My brain was whizzing back in forth with all of the confusion going on.
"Right, then, let's get this vessel shipshape." Uncle Fred said.
"I kind of like the way it is." George said walking past me. "Submarine shape."
I rolled my eyes and started the motor as I navigated us to the nearest waters which was at what John told me was the London Bridge.
And so with our help, we were on our way back to Pepperland.
