One Piece Christmas Special! (2013)
A/N: Sorry...this isn't an update. I'm just really in the Christmas mood and I thought, "Why not spread some holiday cheer in 'Neko Pirate!?'" So, here I am, having Mira enjoy Christmas.

---------------
I woke up and stretched. Today is a great day. Wonder what the rest of the crew is up to... I got up from my cot and slipped on some clothes for the day before heading up to the deck. What I saw made me wanna go back to bed.
Garland and lights were strung all over the railing and on the masts. Glass ornaments hung from each loop in the garland and shimmering tinsel was everywhere. What looked like fake snow decorated the edges of the deck and up the stairs. Wreaths were fastened to the windows and a huge red bow was tied to the end of Luffy's perch.
What. The. Hell. Is. Going on?!?!?!?!
"Mira!" I looked up and saw Nami in the crow's nest stringing lights. "Merry Christmas!" She laughed giddily.
Huh?
"Mira!" I glanced over my shoulder and saw Sanji carrying a ton of food on his arms and head. "Merry Christmas!" What?
"Oh! Mira!" Usopp came up from below deck holding a ton of wrapped boxes. "Merry Christmas!" Eh?
"Merry Christmas, Mira." Zoro ruffled my hair and scratched behind my ears briefly. I shook my head and stared after him as he sat down and leaned against a barrel with a bow attached to it. Zoro had swapped his black bandana for a red and green striped one.
"MIRA!!!!!!" I was suddenly tackled by Luffy. "Merry Christmas, Mira!"
Ok, I've had enough. I pushed Luffy off me. "Can someone tell me what the hell is going on?!?!"
There was silence. No one dared to speak. Nami climbed down from the nest and stood beside me. "Mira, what do you mean?"
I took a deep breath. "I mean, what are you guys doing?"
"Mira, it's Christmas!" I turned and saw Sanji hanging something above the door to the kitchen. "The one time of year I can get free kisses from lovely ladies..." Hearts replaced his eyes.
"I'm never walking that way again..."
"Mira, don't listen to him!" I turned back to Nami. "Christmas is the time of year where all pirates take a day off to celebrate the time they have with their crew and exchange gifts and wait for gifts from Santa!"
"Tch!" Zoro scoffed. "Santa's not real."
Nami swelled up and puffed out her chest. "He is too! Just you watch! He's gonna give us all presents and you're gonna get coal 'cause you don't believe in him!" All he did was shrug.
I cocked my head to the side, one ear standing up and one laying flat. "What's Christmas? I mean, seriously..."
Nami suddenly went stiff as a board. She made jerked movements as she turned to look at me. She had a look of pure shock on her face. "W-what did you say?"
"What is Christmas?" I repeated. Zoro bellowed with laughter.
"Mira-chan!" I was suddenly spun around, Sanji holding my shoulders. "How can you not know what Christmas is?! The most wonderful time of year?!"
I shook my head. "I've never had a Christmas." It was so quiet, you could hear a pin drop. I saw Nami turn as white as a sheet at what I said.
Then something snapped in her. "Men! It is now our mission to give Mira the best Christmas ever! Sanji!"
"Yes, Nami-chan!"
"Make more food! A ham and all the fixings!" She ordered.
"On it!" He ran off toward the kitchen.
"Usopp! Luffy!" They stood at attention in front of her. "Keep decorating the ship to be perfect! I want these light working by tonight!"
"Right!" They scampered off.
"Zoro!" She did an about face, hands on herhips. "I want you to-" He snored, fast asleep. "Baka..." She shook in ager. "Fine! I'll wrap the gifts!" She headed below deck to get started on that.
Me? I just stood there, not sure what to do, or what this "Christmas" was.
"Luffy?" I called to him as he came back up with a box of lights, a few hanging out of the box. "What's Christmas?"
He thought for a moment. "I'm not sure, exactly," He replied. "I'm just doing what Nami told me to do." He ran off to go hang the lights. Knew it wasn't the best idea to ask him...
"Usopp!"
"Yes, Mira?" He came up with another box.
"What's Christmas?"
"Heh!" He set the box down and stood confidently. "Christmas. The time of year you get what you absolutely want. The time of year where we get to pig out on fine food and open gifts that others gave us. The time of year where we don't have to worry about monsters eating us! I once battled the great Santa Claus!"
"Santa Claus?" Now I'm even more confused.
"Yeah!" He nodded. "He's the man who flies around the world in one night, delivering toys and gadgets to all the good boys and girls! He and his flying reindeer, twelve of them!"
"Flying...reindeer? In one night?" That's not possible.
"But something had gone wrong one year..." Half of his face was suddenly covered in a shadow. "He was turned into a monster! I remember this year, because it was only two years ago! He was gonna keep the gifts and stop Christmas from coming! I fought him to the death with my trusty slingshot! I didn't kill him, simply because I didn't wanna be on the Naughty List, so I found a way to extract the monster from him and vanquish it!"
"Liar." I said flatly. He jerked. I shook my head and walked away from him. "Now I'm even more confused..." I walked past the kitchen and heard Sanji humming a tune merrily.
I opened the door slightly and saw him covering the ham in a honey glaze. "Sanji?"
He looked up and hearts suddenly covered his eyes. "Mira-cha~n!" He leaped for me, lips puckered out. I glanced up and saw the thing he had hung up a few minutes ago. I panicked and slammed the door shut. Sanji slammed into the window, face smooshed into it.
I backed away from the kitchen slowly before running away. I tripped over a pair of feet. I caught myself before I fell. "Zoro! Pull your feet in!"
"Wha? Mira?" No apology, as usual. I sighed and sat up.
"Oh! Zoro, maybe you can tell me what Christmas is!" I cheered hopefully.
He shrugged. "Well, I know it's a time where we take a break from fighting, but that's about it. I didn't really celebrate it when I was training to be a swordsman." My hope shattered.
"Thanks, Zoro..." I muttered and stood, leaving him to his nap.
What is Christmas? Is it a mix of what everyone said? Who is this "Santa?" Can he really do all the things Usopp said? Is he real, like Nami said? Or is he fake, as Zoro stated? Does all the fighting stop, just for this one day? But why today? Why not any other day?
I leaned against the center mast and sunk down. Maybe I would know more about this Christmas if I actually had one. But of course, I never did, because my parents were never there. My island excluded me from everything. I sighed and brought my knees to my chest and just sat like that.
"Luffy!" Nami suddenly snapped. Where is your hat?!" I peeked around the mast and saw them standing there. Luffy had his hat on and Nami had red fabric in her hand.
"Huh?" Luffy questioned. "I am wearing my hat."
"No! This one!" She stuck a red hat over the top of his straw hat. The end had a large puff ball on it that pulled the entire thing to one side. That's when I noticed she had several others.
"Oohh..." Luffy poked the puff ball. "That's what you meant."
"Yup! Now, get back to making this ship shining with twinkling lights!"
"Yes, Nami!" He ran off, another hat in his hand, most likely for Usopp.
I faced back the way and stared out to the open waters. Something was suddenly stuffed on top of my head and I started to freak out. My wrists were suddenly stopped from swinging and slashing something by hands. "Mira! Settle down! It's just me!" Nami shouted.
I pulled one of my hands away and lifted one end of the red hat. Nami gave me a sheepish smile. "Sorry..."
"No, it's fine." I assured her.
"Good!" She reached into her pocket and pulled out a gold bell on a ribbon. "Then I hope you don't mind if I do this." She picked up the end of my tail and tied it on nice and tight, but not to where it cut off circulation. "Merry Christmas!" She ran off, maybe to give out the rest of the hats.
I lifted the end of my tail up and the bell jingled. My Neko instincts kicked in. I cursed them as I struggled not to mess with the little bell. My tail twitched and it jingled again. I fought to leave the shiny bell alone, but it was so hard!
I leaped to my feet and tried to run from it, but each step I took sent the bell into a jingling fit, driving me crazy. Finally, I began to spin in a circle to try and catch it to make it stop. My eyes were wide as I reached out for it.
I wasn't watching where I was going and didn't see Usopp with a bundle of crates. We crashed to the ground and I blacked out.
~~~~
I opened my eyes, and saw I was in a white field. No, a snow field, and it was snowing, but I wasn't cold. Must be a dream. I sat up and decided to go for a walk. Maybe I can wake up soon. My crew must be worried about me.
I walked for I don't know how long before I came across a cave. I entered the cave and ran my hand over the wall so I wouldn't get lost in the dark. Suddenly, torches lit up the wall all the way down. Confused, I followed the soft glow f the warm fires. I reached the end and saw writing on the ground. The ground was at a slant, making it easier to read.
"Christmas is a time for friends and family," I read aloud. "It's the season of giving and not expecting anything in return. This is a time of joy and happiness. Spend it with your friends and remember the times you had with them."
I blinked and saw my crew, my friends surrounding me. "Mira, are you alright?" Nami asked.
I smiled and sat up. "Yes, I am." I glanced around the boat. "Wow! It's amazing! You guys did all this?!"
"Yeah!" Usopp and Luffy cried happily.
I stood and smelled the most delicious food I've ever smelled. "Mmm! What's that?"
"The dinner!" Sanji confirmed. "Made it all myself!"
I laughed and spun in a circle. "Guys, I know what Christmas is. It's about being with people who care about me and who I care about!" I pulled them into a group hug. "Thank you for making me see this..." A stray tear fell down my cheek.
That night, we had a huge feast and later exchanged gifts. It felt good to give my friends gifts and see their smiling faces when they opened them.
Once the mood was starting to settle down, I was pulled away. "Zoro! What're you-" He placed a finger to my lips to shush me.
With his other hand, he pointed above his head. "Mistletoe." I looked up. We were at the kitchen. So that's what its' called... I looked back at Zoro to question him when he gingerly placed a kiss on my lips and let it linger for a few minutes. Soon, he pulled away. "Good night, Mira. Merry Christmas." And just like that, he walked away without another word.
I was too stunned to move or do anything. Did he really just...?
A smile slowly spread across my face.
Best first Christmas ever.
A/N: And that concluded the One Piece Christmas Special! Hope you enjoyed it!
The next chapter will be continuing with the story. I just made this as kind of a filler as I thought of ideas and whatnot for the next part. I promise, that'll be done super soon!
Hope you enjoyed this filler special!
