Mira

All of Buggy's gold coins and collected treasure were scattered everywhere like it had just rained. A piece had even found its way right beside me. I picked up the shiny coin and pocketed it. Might as well keep it of it's gonna come to me.

"Thank you." Nami told Luffy. "You saved my life."

"Ah, no problem." He replied. Realization struck his face. "Ohh, yeah, the map!"

"I have it..." She suddenly cut off and gasped. Buggy had gotten up and was oozing anger and hate.

"It's not over yet, rubber man." His cape was flowing in the current of emotions.

Luffy gulped. "He's still alive!?" I dead panned. We never get a break from this guy, do we? Nami looked ready to bolt at the slightest sound and Luffy was really shocked and confused.

"Shut up!" He shouted. "How dare you inflict so much pain unto me! I won't forget this!" Nami started to back away real slowly. Just before she took off, she looked at Luffy and nodded.

Nami fell to the ground beside me. "Mira! Help me tie up his body parts!"

I stared at her confused. "Eh? What for?"

"Just help me!" She whisper yelled. So we set to work tieing up his parts as fast as we could.

Luffy got into a ready position. "Reassemble!" Buggy cried out. "BARA BARA PARTS!" And I had to laugh when I saw the end results. Buggy was only two feet tall!!! It was just his head, stumpy arms, and short legs! I must say, Nami and I make a pretty good team.

All was silent except for a bird chirp. "Eh?" and that from Buggy. Under my foot, half of the rest of his body parts twitched against the ropes.

Nami had the other half. "Looking for these?" She asked as she pulled the ropes tighter.

Buggy gave a startled scream. "My parts!" Luffy couldn't handle it any more; he let out a loud laugh filled with so much humor, I couldn't help but laugh with him.

"No wonder you're a thief!" He told Nami as he stretched his arms way out behind him. "Hey Buggy!" Buggy was speechless. A wide grin spread across Luffy's face. "GOMU GOMU no..."

"I'm dead!" He cried.

"BAZOOKA!!!" And there went Buggy, flying off never to be seen again. Nami just stared.

Luffy stretched his arms back into place then threw them in the air in victory. "I win!" Nami and I sweat dropped. Then he let out a victorious chuckle. I looked over to where Buggy's crew were pretending to be "dead". They were whispering amongst themselves. I let them be, as did Nami.

Speaking of Nami, she watched Luffy walk over to his ruined hat, sat on the ground, and pick it up. His eyes were shadowed with grief. "Your straw hat is all torn up." She stated the obvoius.

"That's alright," He tried to seem happy. "I can still wear it." So he placed it on his head. "I'm not angry anymore since Buggy's been beaten."

Nami's face told it all that she didn't believe a word he said. "Don't worry. I'll help you patch it up later." She cast her eyes to the ground beside her, a bag of treasure in each hand.

"Eh?" Luffy looked over his shoulder at her. "What?"

"Nothing at all!" She said with a stubborn face.

I sweat dropped. "Nami, just give it up. I know you want to help him with his hat. We all saw how he reacted when it just had a small cut." Zoro suddenly snored loudly. "Well, most of us saw what happened."

She stuck her tongue out at me. "Anyways, I had to split this in two. Can you help me carry one? It's really heavy."

"You never give up, do you?" Luffy smiled at her.

She held up the sacks. "Buggy is really selective about his treasure, so everything here is high quality." She smiled broadly and smooshed the bags into her face. "All of this is probably worth 10 million Berrie!" Then she realized she was making herself awkward. She dropped the bags and held up the map to Luffy. "Here, take it." My eyes bugged out of my head. It's the map to the Grande Line! I left the Buggy parts and went to stand by Luffy.

"Why are you giving him this?" I asked.

"You wanted it, right?" She reasoned.

Luffy chuckled and held his hands out, ready to take it. "You're giving it to me?"

She nodded slightly. "You did save my life."

"Ooh! Thank you, Nami!" He grabbed the map from her and smiled happily. "I finally got a map to the Grande Line!" I noticed that Nami was reluctant to give it up. "Alright!" But she did give a small smile at seeing how happy he was. "Ah... Does that mean you're joining us?" he asked hopefully.

She scowled and placed her hands on her hips. "Didn't I tell you that I won't becone a pirate?" But she smiled slightly. "But it's okay. Being with you guys will earn me a lot of money. However, I'm only working with you. Remember that."

He smiled in agreement. Zoro let out another loud snore. I rolled my eyes and found my hat. After picking it up and dusting it off, I crouched down beside him. "Oi, you awake yet?" I asked as I poked his head. He grunted and sat up.

"Is the fight over already?" He asked while holding his head.

"Yah! The map and the navigator, I've got them all!" Luffy said happily. He straightened up and looked over his shoulder at Nami.

"Huh?" Zoro stared harder and she gulped. Then, he grapsed his stomach and shoulder. "Ah, crap. I'm gonna faint. I can't move either." His face started to turn blue from the lack of blood.

"Of course," Nami said matter of factly. "If you could, you guys wouldn't be human." Luffy looked up at her.

"Why am I included?"

I stood in front of Nami. "Am I in on that?"

"Yes." Was her reply. Then she answered Luffy's question. "YOU are the strangest of them all!!" She then sighed. "Anyways, we should take a look at the mayor."

Luffy looked back to Zoro, who looked like he was going to be sick. "Oh, right." He then stood up and turned to where the man was standing. "We should probably wake up the old man as well."

I blinked. "That would be a great idea." I knelt down beside him and started to poke his head. When he didn't move, I stood and shrugged. "Well, I'm out of ideas."

"You there!" Someone shouted. I spun around and saw a huge group of people standing there.

I raised a hand. "Yo."

"You're not from here, are you?" He asked us.

"Yeah," Luffy answered. "And you?"

"We're the residents of this town." I noticed that most of them were glaring at us, others giving me a questioning looks. I patted my head and realized I didn't have my hat on. I gasped through my teeth and stuck it on my head and acted as if nothing happened. More confused stares.

"What happened to the pirates?" Another one of the towns folk asked. "If you know anything, please tell us."

Nami sighed in relief. "Oh, you're residents. I thought there more enemies." I face palmed and peeked through my fingers at the mayor. They'll soon hate us when they see their mayor lying there.

"Ohhh, Mayor." An older man called.

"What happened? Get a hold of yourself!" Another cried. Luffy just watched them, not saying a word. "Hey, Mayor!" They tried to wake him.

"He fainted!"

"The pirates must have done this."

"Why would they do such a thing!" Nami smiled sheepishly and looked away, hoping that Luffy wouldn't say anything. I silently hoped that as well.

What Luffy said made me want to knock him into next week. "Sorry. I had to knock him out." Nami gasped in fear and the towns folk slowly looked at us and glared.

"What?!" Not good...

"Hey! You didn't have to say it!" Nami shouted at Luffy.

"You saw it," He countered. I sunk to my knees. We are so doomed.

"I did see it, but there's a good reason-" she cut off and saw the towns folk glaring at us threateningly with pitch forks and gardening tools.

"Why did you harm our mayor?" One asked in a deep, rage filled tone.

"No excuses!" Another added. They surrounded us. "Who are you people? Are you connected with the pirates?"

Oh, no. Please, Luffy, don't- "We're pirates." Silence...

Then, "We thought so!" I jumped to my feet and smacked Luffy upside the head. Zoro clutched his wound as he left out a belly laugh.

Nami filled with hate and screamed at Luffy. "BAKA!"

"It's the truth!" Luffy said nervously as he leaned away from Nami. He stepped forward to try and make peace with the towns folk.

"Pirates, how dare you cause so much destruction to our town!" They shouted. "We won't forgive you, even if you're just kids!"

I dead panned when Luffy crouched down beside Zoro and not speak to the town. "What now? They won't listen to anything anymore." I heard Luffy give a small chuckle before I was thrown over his shoulder, and Zoro supported on his other side. His grin widened as he grabbed Nami's arm.

"RUN!!!" He shouted as he began to escape the angry mob.

"Don't let them get away!"

"How dare you harm our mayor!"

I jumped off Luffy and ran beside Nami. "Way to go!" I shouted.

"Why do you always speak without using your brain?!" Nami added.

"This is a good town." Luffy stated, ignoring her question.

"What do you mean?!" I shouted, confused.

"For the sake of their mayor, everyone's doing their best to fight!" He explained. He does know how to say something smart! "No matter what excuse we came up with, they'd still be just as angry!"

We ran a little further. "Hey, turn here!" So we did.

Nami missed the turn. "Ah! W-w-w-wait! Don't say it at the last second!"

"They ran into the alley!" We continued to run and jumped over a pile of stuff to see ShuShu on the other side, all patched up.

"ShuShu!" Nami said, surprised.

"What are you doing here, runt?!" I shouted at him as we landed. "Get out of the way or you'll be trampled!" He just growled at me for a second then turned to face the tows folk. We kept running as ShuShu started to bark and growl at the people following us. They jumped back in shock.

"Hey!" A man said. "Get out of the way, ShuShu! Hey!" We watched the show over our shoulders. "They're evil pirates! You shouldn't be barking at us!" ShuShu didn't move. "Why are you blocking us?!"

"ShuShu, let us through!" He still didn't move.

"Good dog!" I shouted to him as we got farther from the people.

"THANKS, DOGGIE!" Luffy yelled out as we all smiled and ran for our lives.

We only slowed down when we got to the docks to find a ship. Nami and I panted, out of breath. "Thank goodness, we somehow escaped thanks to ShuShu."

"That dog earned a portion of my repsect." I added. Nami gave me a confused look. I pulled off my hat. "Hello? Neko? Dog? Two animals that don't mix?"

"Uh, right." She cleared her throat. "Anyways, why do we have to be in this situation?"

"It isn't that bad." Luffy countered. "We finished what we wanted to do."

Nami shrugged. "Well, that's true..."

"Hey, is that your ship? NICE!" Luffy shouted.

I looked it over then counted bodies. "We're all not going to fit..."

"I took it from a bunch of stupid pirates." Nami stated.

"How dare you say that!" Someone shouted. Oh, boy. Those guys again. Three pirates jumped up from inside the boat. "We've been waiting for you, thief."

"Who knew we would see you again on this beach." The fat one said. I sighed, we don't have time for this... Nami gave a nervous laugh.

"You know them?" Luffy asked happily.

"Yeah, a little." Nami replied.

I took a step froward and glared at them. "Leave."

"EEK! It's the scary one!" The skinniest one shrieked.

"Guys, we can take her!" One shouted. "Besides, it's the girl with orange hair we want!"

"To answer you question from earlier," The one with weird black said, "Not just a little, we go back a long ways." He walked up to Luffy, who had an oblivious smile on his face. "So you have friends? We'll have to teach you all a lesson then," Luffy slowly turned his head to him. "About how horrible it is to steal peoples stuff!" He laughed. "Hey you!" He patted Zoro's head. "Don't pretend to sleep. Hey!"

They're in for it now... I thought.

Zoro raised his head. "Uh-?" Half his face was eerily shadowed. All three of them gasped low as tears streamed down their eyes. I was soon rolling on the ground in a fit of laughter when they screamed like little girls. It took us less than a second to take care of the three guys from Buggy's crew.

We ended up taking two ships to hold us all. I was with Nami and the boys got their boat. It was the only way we could all fit with Nami and her collected treasure and the rest of us.

"Your ship still flies Buggy's flag?" Zoro asked Nami.

She held up her hands and shrugged. "Because it was their ship... I'll take it down some other time."

"Zoro," He looked at me. "How's your cut?"

"Cut? Oh, this?" He pointed to it.

I sweat dropped. "Yes, that."

"It's good." Short answer.

"Hey! Wait!" We looked back to shore and saw someone stranding there. He looked really weird... and thin. "You brats!" The only person who calls us that was the mayor. Sure enough, it was him. He was out of breath. He just stood there, hunched over and holding his knees. We waited for him to catch his breath. When he stood, he had tears in his eyes. "Sorry. I'll return the favor some day!" He called out to us.

We smiled. I ran to the edge of the boat and waved. "Bye, weirdo man! See you again some time!"

"Don't call me weird!" He shouted back.

Luffy answered back. "Don't worry about it! Take it easy!"

"Hey, I thought I had two bags of treasure?" Nami began to search madly for her other bag. I thought she had them both.

"Oh, I left it back on the pier." Luffy replied.

"What did you say?!" She shouted with sweat pouring off her brow. She cluthed the railing of her ship, ready to strangle Luffy.  "You left a bag of my treasure behind?!"

"Yah."

"Just that one bag is worth five million berrie!!"

"But if they were to rebuild the town, they'd need money." He stated matter-of-fact.

"But that was my treasure!" She ranted on. Luffy kind of shied away at her yelling. "Do you know how hard it was for me to steal that!?" She reaches over and stuffed his head into the water. He held onto the ship for dear life. "Why did you have to do that?!"

"Stop it!" He said when he found the time to lift his head. "I can't... swim!"

"That's why I'm doing it!" She pressed on, really pissed that half of her treasure was gone. I sat back and relaxed, watching the whole thing. But I couldn't help but smile. Mira, what the hell did you get yourself into?

"I've realized... what I've done... and I regret it now!" He struggled to break free of her hold.

"Who cares?! You should just die!" Then she shoved really hard and brought his head back into the water. I glanced over at Zoro and saw he was enjoying the show as much as I was. He was laughing his head off.

"What?!" Luffy protested. "Stop it or I'll really-"

"How dare you fight back!" Another hard shove. I started busting up as well at the pair. Yep, this was the place to be. "Then I'm really going to push you into the sea!" Zoro and I just let those two duke it out until Nami got tired of his resisting. Luffy sprang away from her and panted, fighting to get his breath back.

"You really tired to kill me!" He yelled at her.

"What of it?" She huffed and crossed her arms.

I decided to step in. "I'm glad I came along with you guys."

"Eh?" Luffy asked. "You are?"

I nodded. "Yeah. If I didn't, I wouldn't have met such great people. In fact," I added. "If Zoro nor you had come to the island, I'd be living a very unhappy, sheltered life right now." My smile fell from my face to a sad frown. "I will never forgive those bastards who made my life growing up a living hell."

"What happened?" Luffy asked, leaning over the edge of his boat.

I shook my head. "Nah, it's not worth boring you guys to death." I ignored them and sat down, leaning against the edge of Nami's boat she stole, and closed my eyes. I felt three pairs of eyes boring into my sitting figure, so I peeked through my eyelashes at them. Yep, they're staring. Hard.

I sighed. "Fine! I'll tell you."

"Yes!"

"But I'll have to start at the beginning so you know what I've been through." I opened my eyes and let my mind wander back to those days of horrible events. "Now, when I speak, I want no interuptions. If one word is said out of place from any of you guys, I'll stop talking and you have to wait until I'm ready to speak again, for these memories are painful." I took a breath to steady my breathing. And began...

"My name is Elmira Hojosen, and my parents hated me," I started off. "I knew they hated me since I started to walk. All because I was different. I didn't behave like a new born child; I behaved like a new born kitten." I removed my hat and set it beside me. I uncurled my tail so it poked out frm under my skirt. "They always shunned me and asked me to leave to my room and not come out until dinner. This went on for the first four years of my life."

"The day right after my forth birthday, they walked with me to the docks. I was afraid they were going to toss me in the water and let me drown, but I saw a boat. Just a tiny little boat that looked as if it could only fit two people comfortably. I became excited, for I was finally getting off that Marine base island. Boy was I wrong." Tears filled up at the rims of my eyes. I blinked and they spilled over.

"My mom crouched down in front of me and said 'Elmira, daddy and I have to leave. For good.' I asked her why and my answer was a sharp, 'Don't ask questions! You are a horrible child and I don't know how I could have given birth to a wretch like you!' It stung and I started to bawl. I clung onto her leg, begging them not to go. She pulled me from her leg and held me at arms length as she got down to my height. 'Listen, Elmira. If you ever leave this island, you will end up throwing the world into chaos and destroying it. The death of the world will be at your hands. It will be all your fault.' I took her seriously and pleaded for them to stay with me."

"That earned me a slap to the face. 'Don't think such silly thoughts. If we stay, we will be the laughing stalk of the whole town.' Hot tears ran down my face. 'Momma, please don't go,' I begged again. She didn't listen and she pushed me away from her. Both her and my father climbed into the boat and sailed away, leaving me hurt and crying on the docks, calling for them to come back." I wiped away the fresh tears. I peeked up and saw Nami with tears and a tissue in her hand. Luffy was holding back his, but snot was falling from his nose. Zoro had his head bowed and eyes closed.

"But my sad life didn't end there," I continued "Helmeppo found me an hour later and offered me a place to sleep, since they were tearing down our home. I bit his outstretched hand and ran off, saying that I hated him. I actually didn't hate him; I hated my parents for leaving me. That year, I let my nails grow into sharp claws and I would scratch anyone who got near me. I stayed in the shadows of alleys, living off any stray mouse I could find. It wasn't much, but it was something."

"At times, I would hear people walk by the alley I stayed in and they would whisper, 'That's Elimra Hojosen, the most dangerous woman on this island.' 'I hear she can destroy the world if she leaves the island.' 'I heard that the island nulls her power so it's not as strong.' I didn't know what they were saying, but I knew it wasn't nice. In just two years after my parents left me, everyone shunned me on the island when ever I would pass, or they'd give me the most hateful looks ever. I ended up getting used to it in the end, but I still cried myself to sleep at night." I heard Nami sniff.

"On my tenth birthday, I was eating three mice instead of just one because, well, it was my birthday. That's when Ririka found me and offered to take me in. I had grown to hate the people on this island, but she was new, so I cut her some slack. As she led me to her restaurant, the towns folk would give us, more like me, hateful looks. Ririka didn't know what I was so she was curious as to why people acted that way to me. At that time, I had gotten myself a hat and curled up my tail under my skirt." I sighed deeply.

"When we got to her place, I told her it was my birthday and I was given a small cake all to my own and a nice, comforting bath. When I had left the bathroom, Helmeppo was there, searching for me. When he spotted me, he stormed over to me and shook me viciously, wondering as to why I had traveled so far from my alley. I knew he was still angry from me biting him. I didn't answer and he shoved me at a Marine and ordered him to take me away and to give the usual 'Birthday Treat'." I shuddered.

"What's the 'Birthday Treat'?" Luffy suddenly asked as I was about to continue my story. I closed up and looked out to the distant waters. There was the sound of two fists colliding with skull. "You idiot!" Nami and Zoro scolded. I was glad that Luffy asked when he did. I wasn't sure how much longer I could last. My tenth brithday was tthe worst birthday ever. After I had gotten whipped ten times- no, I don't even want to think about it.

I stood up and went to the far side of the boat. I could feel their concerned gaze on my back, but I wasn't going to continue my story; not today.

~~~~~~~~
I woke up with the rising sun and watched it's pretty colors as it danced across the waters. They turned from grayish blue to a brilliant blue that reflected all the colors from the sun. The waves crashed into the side of the boat and made it sway softly. It was very calming and relaxing. No wonder so many people lived out at sea; it eased away all your troubles and gave way to a free mind. Just what I needed. I thought to myself.
Once everybody woke up, Nami set to work lecturing us. She had a firm gaze as she looked at us. "There's no way we can get to the Grande Line in our condition."
"I agree." I piped up. Zoro and Luffy looked at her like she was crazy. Luffy had an apple core between his teeth.
"That's right." He said something smart! "I still prefer to eat meat." Spoke too soon.
"Wrong kind of condition, Luffy." I told him.
"Oh. Well, I still want meat." He then proceeded to stuff the whole core in his mouth and eat it. I rolled my eyes at him. "All we ever eat is fruit."
"That's what you guys do." I said as I slowly leaned over the edge. There! I swiped and had a fish in my hands. "Since I'm a Neko, I can eat meat raw and not get sick." To prove a point, I took a bite out of the fishes' middle and chewed.
"You haven't been sharing!?" Luffy tackled me.
"Hey, get your own!" We started to fight over the fish, me getting the upper hand. I managed to get Luffy's hands and legs tied into a knot. Once I had that done, I tossed him back onto his ship.
"No fair!" He protested as the tried to pull free. Zoro laughed at him and Nami was trying to keep her cool. Me? I just ate more of my fish; right in front of a struggling Luffy.
"Mm! So tasty!" I finished the fish and tossed its bones back into the water.
"No fair no fair no fair! Guys, we need a cook! Pronto!" Luffy somehow got his legs free and started working on his hands.
"I'm with Luffy," Zoro agreed. "Some sake would be nice." That earned him an apple to the face.
"What are you guys talking about?" Nami asked. Luffy's arm stretched out after he finally got free and grabbed the apple. "I'm not talking about that!" She said sharply as she tossed an apple in the air and swiped at it, catching it sideways. "I'm saying the Grande Line is the most dangerous place in the world. There will be lots of pirates there looking for One Piece and they'll have powerful ships." Luffy stuffed the entire apple in his mouth and Zoro scratched his chin where the apple hit him.
"Then let's just make them our friends." Luffy offered stupidly. I so wanted to slap his stupidity from his brain. Wait, does he even have one?
"Not only do we lack manpower, but our ship is clearly not equipped." She continued on. "There's no way we'd make it there safely."
"Looks like we still need a chef," he glared daggers at me. "And a musician."
"Musician?" Zoro busted up laughing.
"Tch! Musicians stink. You can never find a good one anymore these days." I countered.
"I'd like to see you play!" Luffy called to me from his perch.
"I don't play; I sing." I stuck my tongue out.
"Then sing!" He yelled.
I huffed and sang to get him off my back.
"Gathering up our dreams
Going to search for our desires-- One Piece!
Compasses only cause delays
Filled with excitement, I take the helm
If we can prove the dusty old treasure map,
Then it's not a legned anymore!
It's alright if our problems
Get on some elses' nerves
Because we think too much about them
Gathering up all our dreams
and going to search for our desires.
A coin in the pocket, and
You wanna be my friend?
We are, we are on the cruise!
We are~!"
I smirked and crossed my arms. Every jaw was gaped open. I've still got it. "You think we still need a musican?" I asked Luffy smugly.
He got over his shock and nodded. "We just need music to go with the song now!" I dead panned. "But that was really great singing. When did you learn to sing like that?"
I cast my gaze to the ground. "I don't know, it just come naturally." Then I spotted a big fish.
"Wow, what are you not good at?" He asked, but I was only half paying attention. I went to swipe at the fish, but it was too fast and I fell in.
"Ah! Help!" I cried out. "I can't swim!" Something grabbed my ankle and pulled me under.
--------
Zoro
"I can't swim!" I was about to reach my arm out to get her when she suddenly sunk under water.
"Shit! She ate the Devil's Fruit!" I dove into the water after her. I swam hard after her and saw her struggling to swim upwards. Wait, I though when you ate the Devil's Fruit, you couldn't move under water? Did she not eat one?
I took a hold of her arm and tugged, but she didn't come up. The next thing I know, something large floated beside us, knocked unconscious, and Mira is in my amrs. I quickly swam up for air and broke through the surface. We coughed and sputtered as I helped her onto Nami's boat before I crawled into mine. As I panted for air, I asked, "What... the hell... happened... down there?!"
Mira sat up and looked into her lap. "I haven't told you guys everything yet."
-----------
Mira
I took a deep breath to steady myself. "You see, this happened before. It was when we were fighting Buggy. I was so freaked out, that it seemed as if time itself had frozen, but only I could move. That's how we were able to win. I don't know what it was because it never happened on the island." I curled up into a ball and wrapped my tail around me. "I think it might be the power my parents were talking about. What if I really do destroy the world?" I began to shake as the tears flowed and mixed with the sea water.
A hand was placed on my shoulder. "You won't destroy the world." Nami comforted. "It won't happen."
"You don't get it!" I cried. "I have never felt so... so much power in my entire life! It's as if the fate of the world rested on my shoulders and I coud do anything! I keep telling myself that it was luck that made us win, but a voice keeps telling me that I did it; I made us win..."
We sat in silence for a while. Nami pulled out a map and read it. "If we head south, there's a small, inhabited island. It would be best if we found a good boat there."
Luffy leaned back a bit. "Ahh! Time to eat some meat!"
I gave a small burp. "No thanks, I'm full."
Luffy sagged and looked at me with a jealous face. "You would be..." Zoro just laughed.
Finally, we saw the island Nami was talking about. "There!" I jumped up and pointed to it! "LAND!"
"MEEEEAAAAT!!"
"SAKE!"
Conk! Conk! Conk! "Shut up!"
"Yes Nami..." We said in unison.
"Hey, why did I get hit?" I asked her.
"Because you were in on the yelling!" She growled.
"Well, isn't that what you're supposed to say when you see land?" She held up a finger, but remained silent. I crossed my arms and smirked. "Thought so."
We docked on the white sands and stretched. I shook off the rest of the salt water from my body and covered my ears and curled my tail. "Ah~! Land, how I love thee..." I cooed. "Welp! I'm heading into town. See you in about an hour!"
"Wait right there!" I turned back to Nami. "We stay together, clear?"
My shoulders slumped. "Hai..." Man! I was ready to explore and everything! This was the second island that I got to set foot on since I left my home town and I want it to be memorable...
I let my eyes travel across the sand and rocky edges of the shore. A sloped path led to the town and Luffy was drooling for meat, causing a small puddle around his feet. Suddenly, the trees and bushes around us rustled. My ears pricked up from under the hat and listened. "Guys, we're not alone on this beach."
"Careful," Zoro warned as he put his thumb on the hilt of his katana, ready to pull it out. I reached for mine.
"Watch out!" Zoro and I shouted at the same time as tiny projectiles launched at Luffy. He started to lift his feet and dodge them and it looked like he was dancing. Nami took off to hide and I pulled out my own black bladed katana. I got in front of Luffy and hit every projectile aimed for him with the blade.
"Ah~! Thanks, Mira." He sighed.
"It's not over yet." I cautioned as they stopped firing. Then, of all other things to pop out of the shrubs, tiny pirate flags whooshed up to signal us that we weren't the only pirates here (heehee! I just called myself a pirate! how cool is that?!). Luffy started to freak out in excitement and Nami said that this wasn't the time.
I used my Neko senses and picked up the auras of the others who were here. I sweat dropped. "Guys, there's only, like, four people out there..."
"No there isn't!" A voice boomed. "These are my pirates and we conquered this village! Everyone praises me and calls me Captain Usopp!" A guy with bushy black hair tied down by a bandanna called down to us. What's up with his nose? It's so long! "If you're thinking of attacking this village, you should just save your strength. Otherwise, my 80 million men will crush you like a bug!" The flags waved in the air all around us.
80 million men? More like you and three little kids...
Luffy's jaw dropped to his stomach. "Incredible!!" I face palmed. He fell for it...
I took a few steps forward in front of Zoro and sucked in a deep breath. "LIAR!!!" All was silent; even the breeze suddenly stopped.
"Uh?" The smugness fell from the guys face but he fough to keep it there. "No! No, I speak the truth!"
I began to dance around in a circle. "Liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar liar! I can see right through you! Liar liar liar liar li-"
"Enough!" He shouted and I stopped. "I, Captain Usopp, will give you mercy for calling me a liar, but not the next time!"
I smirked. "Liar liar liar liar! I see your knees shaking!"
"You're lying?!" Luffy called up to him.
"You saw right through it?!" He began to sway.
"See, he even said 'You saw right through it?' Clear indication." Nami stuck out her tongue playfully.
"Damn you!" He shouted from his ledge. "80 million might be an exaggeration, but I have many strong and powerful companions!"
"So, three little kids are your strong companions?" I questioned.
"Captain" Usopp paled. Oh, won't this be fun? I thought with a smirk.
