Chapter 11 - Dog Days
Charlie POV
I woke up, stretching out my arms. I looked at the clock then ran to the bathroom at bathe. After I bathed, I changed into a jeans pants, a red T-shirt and white sneakers. Grandma gave me some notebooks and a new bag. She casted a spell to hide my ears. She smiled, cupping my face with her hands. "You are growing up too fast" she laughed.
"I want to stay now" I frowned.
"Nope. You are going and no excuses" she said, pushing me out of the house.
Before I could say anything, she slammed the door. I started my journey down the hill. I bumped into Fuzzy when I reached the main road. She greeted me with a hug that made me feel uncomfortable. "I'll help you with your first day, newbie" she smiled proudly.
"Thank you, I'm really thankful for what you are doing for me" I smiled softly.
"Loosen up! Let's talk like we are best friends. We are after all" she laughed.
"Best....friends" I said slowly.
I remember my last master always called me that. He played with me everyday and I even got to sleep beside him in his bed. I felt safe and loved. I still remember the first day I met him.
His mother adopted me from my previous home with my real family. It was his birthday and I was the surprise. I was placed in a wrapped box with holes which scared me. I cried moving in the box towards him. He opened and looked down at me.
"Mom, he's awesome!" he smiled.
He wrapped his arms around me and patted my head. "I'll always protect you, little guy. My only best friend" he laughed while I licked his face.
I turned into this human...animal thing a year later and I had to run away not to scare him.
I came back to reality when we reached the school building then went inside. I got my class schedule, sadly we got the news we were in different classes. I'm in the last year class.
"Don't worry. I guess you are that smart" she smiled nervously.
"I will wait for you at the lunch time and when school is over" I said, showing her the school schedule.
"I'm sure you will make a lot of friends-"
A bell rang. I wanted to bark but I had to hold it in. She waved and ran to her class.
I walked to my assigned class. I entered and the teacher guided me to the front of the class. "This is Charlie Bones. Please let him feel welcomed" she smiled softly.
"Good morning!" the class exclaimed looking at me.
"Go-Good morning" I shuttered.
She told me to sit beside a boy with brown hair and green eyes. He looked very familiar as he glared at me sitting beside him.
"So, what's your name newbie?" he asked. The teacher told you and the others already.
"Charlie-"
"I know. I just thought you were a rude person" he chuckled. Huh?
He took out his notebook and gave me. "Mason," he said and I blinked. "my name is Mason Silver. You missed some notes so..." he grinned.
"Thank you" I smiled softly.
Time skipped...
As soon as the last bell rang, I ran to Fuzzy in her class. I wrapped my arms around her and sobbed. "I missed you" I frowned.
She smiled nervously, looking at her friends beside us. They stared at us then acted like nothing happened.
"Good boy" she whispered, giggling a little.

I finally reached home. I was very tired that I released myself into my bed. Grandma smiled, looking at me from my bedroom doorway.
"Grandma, I miss your pumpkin soup" I said, burying my head in my pillow.
"If you catch the chicken for once, I will" she smirked.
"Mean...." I mumbled.
She laughed. "I'm too old to catch one"
"You got magic" my eyes sparkled.
"It doesn't mean I must use it to do everything" she sighed.
I groaned, wrapping myself with my blanket. She kissed my forehead and whispered good night.
"Grandma"
"Yes?"
"Can I learn magic too?"
She placed her hands in her hip and glared at me with a small smirk on her face. "You are too young" she said then closed my bedroom door after leaving.
I smiled evilly, taking out one of her magic books I snuck into my room. I read the different simple spells and tried them out. I succeeded. Pshhh....I'm too youn-
A flower pot suddenly turned into a man eating plant. It growled at me.
"Are you okay?" grandma asked from the kitchen.
I stuffed some of my squeaky toys into its mouth. "Yes, grandma!" I smiled nervously.
I threw it outside, down the hill. Nothing is going to happen....
I heard a lady screaming. I better go down there...
