Sunny's POV

I scrambled over the fence into the backyard of the lady who feeds me occasionally. I saw that the door was left open for us today. Happily I leaped down onto the spiky grass and bounded across the lawn past the other cats. Inside was cold, same as outside. The heater was in the middle of the room today so I crouched next to it, warming my calico fur. Fred, the flirty cat, padded over to join me. He crouched opposite from me and started to groom his orange tabby fur. Socks and Pickles were cuddled in the corner on the large pillow. Everyone thought they were adorable together, but they claimed they were just friends.

Fred let out a hiss that snapped me back to reality. It was freezing and I didn't realize until now. I turned to the heater and saw that Mack chewed through the wire. "Moron! It's freezing now!" I hissed, fluffing my pelt to keep warm. It wasn't working. I wrapped my tail around my ice-cold paws and shivered. Fred took notice of this and as casually as he could, walked to my side. The ginger tom crouched and pushed his pelt into mine. Instantly I felt heat radiating off of him like a furnace.

"You're freezing, Sunny!" Fred exclaimed pushing himself closer. I nodded and curled up into his side. He started vibrating. He was purring loudly.

"This is nice." I murmured quietly.

"Yes. You can go to sleep if you want, I'll tell you if she comes." Fred started licking the top of my head like I was a kitten. His fluffy tail wrapped around my side and he licked around my ears before stopping to rest his head on my shoulders.

I woke up to Fred whispering my name. "Sunny. Sunny, she came. She refilled the food." I yawned and slowly got up. Fred was up too, stretching his legs one by one. Gozer came over and took my spot. I walked out of the small house and bounced down the steps to the outside. Landing beside Tabitha I waved my tail hello to her and Pumpkin and bounded to the golden bowl of food. Fred trotted past them after me and smiled proudly at the two female cats.

"You look like you just did it with some lucky cat." Spots smirked at Fred as he walked by. I almost choked on my mouthful of frisky bits. Fred purred and whispered back to his friend.

"I'm planning on scoring tonight." Fred sat down and started talking with the black and white cat. I stalked over to Fred and licked his cheek. I twined my tail with his and pressed against him.

"Why wait for tonight?" I whispered into his ear. I touched my nose to the shocked tom's ear just as it got hot from embarrassment.

"Ha. Good luck, Fred. I'm going to go find Speckles." Spots wriggled out from the tube he was in and ran away to find his sibling.

"Well, come on then. Drop some fish for the person and let's go! I know an alley that no cat goes into." I purred and dropped the fish I brought on the pile. Fred dropped a goldfish and slowly followed me as I jumped over the fence. Tonight will be fun. I thought happily.
