just when hangyul thought he had the confidence to face the alpha when he felt that all familiar tug on his hand, stopping him in his tracks, tears started to stream out of his eyes. that left the alpha shocked as he let go of the beta's hand and watched as the beta sat down by the wall and hugged his legs close to his chest.

"h-hangyul?" minjun said after the beta's sobbing started to get louder, "what's wrong? why are you crying? is it because of—"

"g-go away!" hangyul pushed the alpha away from him, making him fall onto his bottom. he didn't even know why he was crying. his body just reacted like this when the strong scent from minjun hit him. he was weak. he felt submissive. betas weren't supposed to feel like this.

". . . . . . hangyul" minjun mumbled, getting up and wiping the back of his jeans, "tell me what's wrong. i know you don't cry for no reason. you— you hardly cry"

thankfully, everyone else was busy in their classes or else they would've seen hangyul crying. he knew he hardly cried. he just had enough. he had enough of minjun. his body was reacting weirdly and he couldn't control it. he was frustrated.

"why do you keep on bothering me?" hangyul, wiped his eyes on his sweater sleeve, "i don't like you anymore minjun! go back to your omega boyfriend!" the sudden outburst made minjun shocked.

after a minute of silence and hangyul trying to control his unstoppable sobs, minjun spoke up, crouching down to look at hangyul, "i wanted to talk to you so that i could say sorry. i'm sorry for hurting you"

hangyul swallowed his saliva, looking up with tear stained cheeks and red eyes, "d-did you really love me? it was just an act wasn't it?"

"i did love you" minjun said, rubbing the back of his nape, "but i told you before that i preferred omegas and you're a beta. us, alphas just have our preferences, gyullie"

hangyul heard something. it was the sound of his heart breaking into a gazillion pieces. it was all just because he was a beta? was that the reason why? do omegas kiss better? do omegas treat their alphas better? was it because they looked cuter? did they sound sweeter when talking?

"don't call me that" hangyul jerked his head to the side as he dug his head back into his arms as he felt another wave of tears coming out of his eyes. betas made up the majority of the population in their society. of course only alphas and omegas were destined to be together. betas were nothing special, "so i was just a toy for you to play around with? was it fun playing around with me?"

minjun put a hand on his shoulder, but that was slapped away by the beta, "hangyul—"

"we're done right?" the crack in hangyul's voice made the alpha a little guilty, "you have no reason to be here then"

"hangyul" the name slipped out of the alpha's tongue as he drowned in guilt. was it wrong just to end it like that? just because there was an omega that appeared in front of him one day?, "d-do you like seungyoun?"

"i don't see why i need to tell you that" hangyul mumbled, sniffling a little more, "go away. i don't want to see you anymore and stop bothering me" he wiped the remaining tears and got up, walking away from the alpha and ignoring the aching pain of his heart to hear the truth. he heard the alpha call after him, which he ignored and continued to walk.

stupid omegas. just because they were small and petite and had the sweetest pheromones. how pathetic. he couldn't help but feel jealous.

he turned at the end of the hall and bumped into someone's chest, "ah sorry" he wiped a small tear that slipped out of his eye and sniffled.

"hangyul?" the familiar voice made hangyul look up with glossy eyes and a little bit of snot coming out of his nose from all the crying. the alpha looked at him, cupping his cheeks worryingly, "were you crying? what happened?"

hangyul was going to cry to himself when he turned at the end of the hallway, knowing that minjun wasn't following him, but seungyoun was here. he couldn't cry in front of his sunbae— or could he?

"s-seungyoun sunbae" he immediately leaped into the alpha's arms, hugging him tight before letting a third wave of tears come out of his eyes. the hot droplets soaked onto the alpha's hoodie before he could even respond.

seungyoun decided that he'd ask the beta later. he just got out of his class and was on his way to find yuvin and jinhyuk who was on the other side of campus when he ran into the beta. he thought he heard talking and he was right.

his head whipped around when he saw students coming and he immediately put the hood of his hoodie onto his head. he pulled the beta closer to him in hopes of hiding his face. once he saw the group leave, he let go and watched as the shorter rubbed his eyes and sniffled.

hangyul had to admit it, crying into seungyoun's arms wasn't bad at all. he found it almost a blessing even though his heart was broken to pieces a few minutes ago. he found comfort near the alpha when he barely knew him except from him being extremely popular and handsome.

"are you feeling better?" seungyoun asked, caressing hangyul's cheek. the beta nodded, clutching onto the alpha's hoodie as he wiped his tears.

"i-i'm sorry sunbae" hangyul sniffled, moving his face away from the fabric to see the wet stains. he tried to wipe it off with his sweater paws but to no avail, "i-i got it all over your hoodie sunbae!"

seungyoun shook his head, calming down the panicking beta with a small smile, "it's alright. i'll get it washed later when i get home" the alpha's smile faltered and a worried expression appeared on the taller's face, "are you okay?"

hangyul nodded his head, cheeks tinting slightly red. he didn't think he would pounce onto the alpha and cry all over him. it was just a natural reaction when he saw the taller. he just had to embarrass himself again in front of his sunbae didn't he? this is driving him crazy.

"you don't have class anymore, right?" the alpha asked, making the beta shake his head, "i'll escort you back to the dorms then" seungyoun said, grabbing hangyul's hand and dragging him along. meeting up with yuvin and jinhyuk was going to have to wait. now, he just wanted to find out why the beta was crying so much. before hangyul could even utter a word out, he was already following the alpha with a small blush on his cheeks. somehow he felt a little better already.

watching from behind was none other than minjun who had his fingers curled up into a fist as his teeth gritted against each other. he let out a sigh and crossed his arms in front of his chest as he walked the opposite way.

"of course it had to be cho seungyoun" he mumbled bitterly.
