Volnutt and the androids are now on some sort of mission. The mission involving going through the desert city area. The team are near the area, which crossed over with the city ruins. However, Rock could not forget what the commander had said to him, right before he had left for the mission with the androids.

Flashback...

As the androids were about to leave, the Commander than spoke to the Carbon member.

"Volnutt...before you go...I have something very important to talk to you about now."

Volnutt than turned around, and spoke to her.

"What is it?"

She than went close, and Volnutt could tell that whatever it is...it is not good to hear now. She than whispered to him.

"I have heard the entire conversation with 2B and 9S when they are at your house. But I am well aware that you are not entirely truthful with who you really are, as I could see that you have flinched. But you didn't flinch as much when you talked about the Carbons themselves. I need to know from you of who you really are. But I won't dwell on it to the day. I will talk about it another time."

Volnutt was now getting really worried. But as that is happening, the Commander than spoke out to him, with her tone filled with less danger.

"Now...I think it is best that you go with 2B and 9S. You don't want to keep them waiting."

Volnutt, while he is still a bit afraid of what she has done in scaring him, nodded. He than activated the Jet Skates, and leaves.

Flashback Ends...now at City.

Volnutt was still a bit worried about what he is about to do when it is involving the commander herself.

"How did she know that I was not being honest?"

Volnutt whispered. Than, 2B gave out a signal to Volnutt.

"Digger, we're going down now."

Volnutt looked, and saw that they were ready to go. Volnutt nodded, and went with them. They than jumped down, but 2B and 9S held onto their pods to land. Volnutt did a heavy jump, and made a crater when he landed on the ground.

But as they did, they saw that there are robots up ahead. They than looked at each other, and nodded, as they went towards them to go and destroy them.

The robot jumped back, and after a minute of being hit, than tried to charge at the group. Volnutt, however, was able to stop and hold it back with his bare hands, allowing 2B to it it down.

They went to another one, but this one was able to hit 2B, although she didn't gain any serious injuries. Volnutt, however, puts in the Drill Arm, and driller a hole in the robot's chest.

After taking the drill out, the robot fell down and exploded from the damaging arm. Volnutt than went to 2B, and used his left hand to help her up.

"Okay. So where do we go now?"

Volnutt spoke to the androids. 2B than spoke out.

"We go right."

She than went right, to an what seems to be some form of an archway made of buildings.

The others followed, and Volnutt used the Jet Skates in order to catch up quickly.

After now getting next to 2B, she suddenly ran at full speed, now matching the speed of the Jet Skates. This surprised Volnutt a little bit, but he simply keeps on moving with the androids. 9S is also moving at full speed, so he'll keep up with the other 2.

After a little minute, they had arrived at some sort of campsite for other people.

There, they found a supply merchant, who than says that they had a squad-mate that is waiting from up ahead, and told them to go there. He than tells them that there is no way to result from there. Taking that statement in check, he than right it down, and puts it in his backpack.

They than moved on. They wasted no time at all around the deserted city. They went along to another path. They then went left, and at the end of the path, they are in another city that's deserted.

This area is something that Volnutt has not seen before. And needless to say, it is much more messier than even what he had expected.

"Man...I heard the desert had made a gigantic mess to the city entirely. But I never thought it would be this messy at such a large scale like this."

After looking at it, Volnutt wasted no time, activating the Jet Skates, and roll fast towards the very sandy wasteland.

The androids than began to run at the same time. Than, one of the pods than suddenly recorded a message.

"The council of humanity has a message for all our brave androids that are on the surface."

They kept on moving, as they listened to the message the pod's recording.

"Currently, our struggle against he machine lifeforms is at a stalemate. This battle has raged for far to long. I am sure you all find the effort grueling."

The message spoke, as the group are at a strange cliff side.

"But now is not the time to give up. Now, it's than ever, we must forge on. Remember that several hundred thousand humans on the moon want nothing more then to return to earth. Glory to mankind."

The message ends, as the group than go down the cliff, and then back up to a lower part of it.

"These council members are always so stiff."

9S commented on this. Volnutt than spoke out to him.

"There is something definitely wrong."

The androids than grabbed onto the pods. Volnutt was preparing to jump down, but 2B grabbed him, and cradled him like he is a child with her left arm. They than floated down softly. After about 2 seconds, they let go of the pods, and than 2B puts Volnutt down.

The 3 went inside of the enterance and than ventured through. Volnutt, however, went a tiny bit faster, as he rolled down the hill, thanks to his Jet Skates on.

They than encounters a small band of robots. They were just a pushover, and they were all easy to dispatch. They than jumped onto some rocks, although Volnutt had to put in the jumping shoes for his right foot, since it would waste time. After that, they went right, and saw a group of large robots. They immediately fought against them.

There were 3 of them. So it would be simple. Volnutt than brought his Blade Arm out for this. When the robot came to him, he immediately cuts it in half. Due to the weapon being mad of energy at the blade part of it, it was able to cut through with no problem at all.

After the robots have been dispatched, when he puts his other Jet Skate back, they went back to the direction they went, and now went inside of a cave.

The trip out of the cave went just fine, although Volnutt had to jump, which was not good, since he does not have the Jumping Shoes in right now.

After a little bit of getting out, they went to another cliff.

"Woah. This one is a little more steep."

He said. He than stepped back a bit, before jumping down.

"Hey, wait up!"

9S than follows. 2B just said nothing, and just jumped down. But 2B grabbed onto Volnutt and went on top of some rocks, this time to avoid any fight with the robots that are down there. But after finding no way out, they immediately fought against them.

Timeskip...

After a little while of fighting and traveling, they immediately found someone.

When she saw them, she than spoke out.

"Hey, our leader told me all about you. Names Jack***, nice to meetcha. I hear you plan to take out all of the machines from the desert? Guess we need to get that entrance open."

Volnutt than spoke out.

"Right, so um...if you don't mind me call you simply 'Jack,' what are you doing all the way out here?"

"Hmm? Oh, that. Well..."

Before she could speak. A large explosion than occurred. She than spoke out again.

"Wouldn't wan to get tangled up in that now, would we?"

Volnutt than looked, as jack spoke out.

"Don't go up trying to be a hero, okay?"

She spoke out again. Volnutt than spoke back to her.

"Noted."

They than continued onward. After a bit more on fighting robots, more and more and more, the eventually made it to the other side of the wall. And it was what everyone expected it to be...sand...sand...and even more sand.

"Yikes! Was it really this bad?"

Volnutt spoke out. He than puts on his Jumping Shoes, and they went down. As they look around, they began to feel a bit unease about what they're into. As they began to look, 2B than suddenly shouted.

"Look out!"

She than tackled Volnutt away, as something came out of the sand to try and attack him. She was able to save him, but Volnutt's head went into something...that men shouldn't go in.

When they stood up, and Volnutt could see again, they saw strange robots.

It looks like they are some sort of tribe. They had masks and clothing to fit that. Than, one of them spoke out strangely to them."

"An...droid."

"Car...bon..."

De...sert..."

"K-Kill."

"Mee-meat."

They than proceed to battle against them.

"These machines are...talking."

2B spoke in genuine surprise.

"Yeah, resistance said that they have been hearing a lot lately. Can't tell you why though."

9S spoke to him.

"Less talking, more destroying, guys!"

Volnutt spoke to them. It was so difficult to even catch them, due to the fact that they dig into sand. Eventually, Volnutt ended it by using the Hyper Shell, though he did tell 2B and 9S to get out of the way and get behind him before doing it.

After that, they immediately continued onward, but Volnutt kept on getting ahead, due to the fact that his Jet Skates allowed him to use the upper sand to launch upwards into the air and go down fast on this one. Needless to say, the Android are annoyed that he had that, and that they have to run. And also...doing stuff like that's very fun!

After a few more minutes of getting through sand, fighting sand robots, and all of that, they finally reached another city. And this one has more buildings than the last one.

Volnutt was a bit surprised, but he was a bit worried.

"I hope that any of the sand robots are not appearing right here."

He spoke out, and than used the Jet Skates to go down fast. 2B, while she is running, spoke out.

"What is that?"

Volnutt than answers to her.

"I think it is some type of residential complex that humans lived upon. There are so many of the buildings present here."

Volnutt spoke out. 2B than said.

"How did you know?"

Volnutt than looked at her as if she's gone crazy.

"I have been studying, 2B."

Later...

The situation is still the same as always. There are robots in the residential areas. Although thankfully, it is not the sand robots here.

As they finished cleaning up, the encountered something that had made Volnutt's heat jump greatly.

"What the...what is that?"

Volnutt said in great fear. 2B than said to him.

"These are android bodies."

Volnutt was very sick.

"My god."

Than, the pod has spoken out.

"Hypothesis: they were killed by local machine life forms."

9S than spoke out.

"What are they doing here?"

The pod's response to him."

"Unknown."

Volnutt than looJed, and saw that they are gathering at some sort of cave here. Wasting no time, he than runs down.

"Volnutt. Wait up."

2B spoke to the Carbon. As they went down, he saw someone.

"There you are."

The robot noticed, and spoke out.

"They never give up! Run! Run! Must! Run!"

The androids and Volnutt went forward, until they reach the tunnel's end. And that is when things really took a jump here.

"Woah...I think they might need the bodies for something."

Volnutt said. He than jumped down, and went to the robots. The robots are having strange stuff around them. It's like their preparing for something to be born, despite there's robots, and there are no organisms. The robots noticed, and they were not happy. One of them jumped down, one of the sand robots, and spoke out.

"I'll get you for this!"

Than, all of a sudden, all of them ran to Volnutt, who takes out his Spread Buster, and start to shoot them. But more and more are still ganging up on his. But before they could reach him, 2B and 9S intervened.

"Volnutt...wait for us next time."

2B spoke to Volnutt.

"...okay."

He simply spoke. He than bring out his Blade Arm, and began to cut them down, as using the Spread Buster. It was one large mess...but they were able to prevail...or so they thought.

For a season, the robots froze for a moment. They thought that they had lost power, before they all suddenly began to move.

They than began to act crazy. They began making strange movements. It is like there is something inside of their heads. Than, they began to climb up some metal beams, and began to gather, until they stop as a large legion of robots.

"What the? What's happening?"

9S spoke out. 2B remains silent. After looking at it for a few seconds, Something unexpected than happened. It began to open up, and a white liquid came down. The liquid, however, covered something. When the liquid cleared out, 2B spoke out.

"An Android?!"

9S, however, Denies this and spoke out.

"No! This...this is a machine!"

Volnutt, however, responded.

"Why do I know this is not good?"

Than, the machine than stood up, and looked at them.

Volnutt made his first move. He uses the Mega Buster and fires at this thing. After firing, it than spoke out to them.

"Nnnnn...nnnngghh...An...droids...why...fight?"

But than 2B and 9S made their move. They immediately attacked it, and began to cut it. After a little while of doing so, it than defended, and spoke out.

"Sword...dodge...projectile...deflect..."

"I think he's evolving!! We better finish this, quick!"

Volnutt than decide to do another thing. He puts the normal arm into his backpack, and brought out his blade arm. He than used a combination of the both of them. He than cuts the machine, than shoots it. The machine tried to kick him, but he got out of the way. He than cuts the machine as fast. 2B and 9S are also finishing this as fast as they could, but the machine is actually very tough to even crack.

Suddenly...it teleported onto a metal beam, and began to fire energy blasts at the group below. 2B and 9S began to get out of the way. But Volnutt is a better idea. He than took off the Mega Buster, and put the Shield Arm in place. He than activated the shield, and was able to deflect it. Although he did get launched back. The energy hits the machine, who than tumbled down.

"Volnutt!"

2B shouted. Volnutt, however, stood up, and charged at the machine. He than activate the energy blade, and stabbed it in the chest. 9S than does it in the stomach, and so did 2B. After that, they yanked the blade out, and the machine falls down. 2B, under the mask, has her eyes widened at what she's seeing.

"Is this...reallly...a machine?"

Volnutt looked at it, and than saw something.

"It's not over yet."

He than pointed at the injury, which is now beginning to be covered in light. Suddenly, a hand bursted out from the light.

"What the..."

All of a sudden, another being came out. This one resembles the other one.

"Damn it! Not another one."

It than begin to groan...and than, scream.

"UuuuuuaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGH!!!"

The scream was so loud that it was making 2B and 9S cover their ears, and making the area shake violently. Volnutt, while covering, than comes in and kicks it.

"I have heard enough screaming!"

Suddenly, everything began to collapse, as 9S spoke out.

"Come on! We gotta get out of here!!"

Everyone than ran. Thankfully, Volnutt has his Jet Skates on. As they ran and jump, 9S notice a building fall down, revealing a way out.

"Come on! Through that hole!!"

They wen upwards to try and get out. Thankfully for Volnutt, he was able to escape from the building by being very fast. They went out, and the entire thing has completely collapsed.

Back at the Base...Bed...

Volnutt is in his room. His new room. He is now fixing his arms that have been used. Mostly due to the fact that he had been inside of a desert, as there's sand inside.

"But what on Earth's that?"

Honestly, what he had encountered is beyond anything he's seen. It was so...so disturbing. He can't get it out of his head.

"I think we should be careful about this more. Who knows if these machines are still alive."

He said to himself. He is unsure how much they are evolve. He's very worried. After getting all of the sand out of his which no longer clogs the mechanisms, he feels himself getting tired.

"I think...I should rest."

He than gets out of his chair, gets onto the bed, and then falls asleep. But before he falls asleep, he saw a string of white appear above his eye. After that...he is out.
