After asking my Mom I went upstairs and let myself fall onto my bed.

I excitedly took out my phone and texted Jacob.

"My Mom said yes. When shall we come?", I typed.

I didn't need to wait long for an answer.

"7:30pm?"

"Sounds good."

"Okay laterzzz K"

I smiled.

"Laterz J"

We were finished at 7:20pm.

I chose a short summer dress in a light blue colour and decent sandals for the occasion.

The dress left my neck naked so I put on a small silver necklace.

I decided to wear my hair open so that it flooded down my shoulders till my waist in beautiful light brown waves.

I also put on a bit of mascara but nothing more because I wanted to look natural.

"Everyone ready to go?", Dad shouted from downstairs.

"Coming!", I shouted back and ran down the stairs.

Mom wore a tight beige dress with matching heels аnd Dad had put on something formal, too.

Even Alex looked well groomed tonight.

So when we walked towards our neighbors house, I have to admit that I felt a bit proud.

We really slayed.

"Ding dong."

A beautiful woman - Jacob's Mom - opened the door with a big smile on her face.

She wore a long olive green dress.

"Hello, finally we get to meet each other. Come in, come in!"

And then she greeted everyone of us - my parents with kisses on both cheeks and my brother with a hand shake.

I was a bit surprised when she hugged me, but it made me feel welcomed and I immediately knew that I liked her.

Caroline - Jacob's older sister who wore a short yellow dress - was next and now I was prepared for the hug.

Next in line was Jacob's Dad. He just gave me a handshake and smiled at me proudly.

And then - last but not least - was Jacob.

He wore a suit and looked AMAZING.

I repeat AMAZING.

Oh how I wish I could go to prom with him...

WAIT WHAT?

We just met and were BEST FRIENDS.

Nothing more.

I didn't quite realise that I was staring at him until he interrupted my thoughts.

"Hey", he said with a little nervous smile on his blushing face.

"H-hey", I said back and blushed too.

He looked me deeply into the eyes and I didn't look away.

I opened the mouth to say something, but...

Suddenly he came closer until his lips were near my ear and I could feel his warm breath against my skin.

"You look beautiful", he whispered.

I smiled and I think he smiled too.

He was so close...

"Thank you", I blushed.

I think he realised that we were really close so he backed off quickly.

Jacob scratched the back off his head nervously.

"You're welcome."

We stood there for ages and didn't know what to say, until his Mom broke the silence.

"Guys you coming? Dinner's ready!"

I slightly shook my head to get myself out of that trance and said: "yes, I'm really hungry!"

I tried to put on a smile and wanted to go, but in the corner of my eye I saw that Jacob was still standing there and staring at me.

"Jacob?" I chuckled softly.

"Y-yes?"

"Come, dinner's ready"

"O-oh yeah..."

He still seemed to be lost in thoughts so I took his hand without thinking about it and pulled him towards the dining room.

When we got there I realised everybody was looking at us so I quickly let go of his hand.

Mom chuckled.

"Everything okay?"

"Yeah, yeah, everything's fine", I said and sat down at one of the still empty chairs.

Jacob sat down next to me.

"Well everything's fine apart from the fact that I'm dying because of hunger", I added jokingly.

Everybody laughed.

"Well let's eat then", Jacob's Mom said.

The food tasted DELICIOUS.

I had never eaten so good in AGES.

"This food is so good", I confessed and let out an enjoying moan.

"I'm glad you like it", Jacob's Mom said and smiled at me.

To be honest, we had a lot of fun.

The whole table laughed every two minutes and we got to know each other pretty well.

I liked my new neighbors and I got the feeling that maybe moving to the USA wasn't so bad at all.

"So Katharina, how was the trip to the town center yesterday? Jacob told us you guys had a lot of fun", Jacob's Dad wanted to know.

"Yeah that's correct, it was really nice", I smiled and glanced at Jacob, still smiling.

He smiled back, but not that big 'I have fun"-smile but the little, cute and deep smile which isn't quite there but you know it is.

The evening went on pretty well.

Oh and I forgot to mention that both Jacob and I seemed to accidentally touch each other a lot.

But that didn't mean anything because the chairs were pretty close to each other.

I don't know why, but every time we touched, a little goosebump went through my body.

Weird.

At about 11:30pm we had to say goodbye.

At first I hugged Jacob's Mom and Sister and then I shook Jacob's Dad's Hand.

The others were already gone when I came to say goodbye to Jacob.

Even my family were on their way to our house already.

Now it only was Jacob and me in the light of a flickering street lamp.

"See ya tomorrow?", he asked but it sounded more like a statement.

"Yep."

"So... goodnight I guess."

"Yeah, goodnight..."

Before I could turn around, Jacob came closer and kissed me on the cheek.

"Sleep tight princess."

His words weren't more than a silent whisper, but I still heard them.

I smiled.

He had already turned around when I said the following thing: "Sleep tight my prince."

Again it wasn't more than a silent whisper, but I think he still heard them because he stopped the turn back and I could see a smile on his face.

I couldn't help myself but I smiled back.

Then he was gone.
