Chapter Three
After a bit of arguing, there was a majority vote on what they should do. Everyone, minus Aaron and Corey, agreed that they want to do the seance, that way there they could get it over with while they're not only just feeling jittery from the alcohol, but also because that way there they have it over with.
"Fine, you guys can summon a demon into the house, I'm not doing it though. I don't feel like getting murdered by some demon from hell when I'm still young," Corey snaps, storming off to another room. Aaron follows, not only wanting to get out of the seance but also wanting to have some alone time with the other that stays out of most the demonic things.
Elton sighs, looking at everyone else. "Shall we get onto the seance then?"
They all nod.
They get it set up, making the room dark and having candles as the only light. Once they have everything together, they sit down in a circle on the floor, joining hands.
Sam glances around at all the other friends, still personally having some doubts with the paranormal things, even after all the things he's seen with his friends.
All of them close their eyes, then start to chant a certain phrase that Colby told them about, sounding more like a cult than a bunch of friends hanging out for a "peaceful night."
Little did they know that the night wasn't going to go peaceful.
Corey and Aaron are in the other room, making out. You see, they've both had a crush on the other for a while now, especially after they all broke up with the girls that they were dating. In the slightly intoxicated state they're in, they both ended up confessing to the other, Aaron crawling into Corey's lap.
After a minute or so in the room over, they all stop chanting the same phrase, and open their eyes. Sam glances over at the hand of the person to his right, Colby, biting his lip.
"If there's any spirits here that want to talk to us, make yourself known," Elton says, looking around the room in paranoia. Tension fills the air, all the friends both wanting to get a sign of something but also not wanting to summon a demon into Elton's house.
Then, the candle flickers, almost going out. Sam's grip on Colby's hand tightens. Colby gives Sam a look, saying it's okay and stay calm, nothing is going to hurt you. I'm right here.
Sam nods gently, looking back at Elton. "Guys, remember; whatever you do, do not break this circle until we send whatever we summoned back." Elton's voice was harsh as he spoke, showing all the friends that are participating how serious this is.
"Should we all ask a question or two?" Colby suggests, looking over at Elton.
"Whatever we want to do, Colby," Elton shrugs. Colby nods, preparing to ask his own question.
"Spirits, if you are here, may we ask some questions?" Colby asks curiously, not really knowing how it's going to answer, seeing as they didn't bring a Ouija board this time. Then, knocks come from the attic; two knocks, to be exact.
Jake is the next one to speak up. "Knock once for no, twice for yes."
Two more knocks come from above.
"Well, we got spirits that want to talk," Jake mutters, and Elton sighs.
"Remember guys, we need to be enthusiastic about this, or else it won't work," Elton looks around the circle at all of his friends that decided to play the game.
Sam nods hesitantly, still holding on to Colby's hand tightly for comfort. Colby then speaks again. "What year did you die?"
One knock comes from the ceiling, then a pause, followed by nine more. After another small pause, a one, and then two. "1912..." Jake mumbles, and Elton tries to pinpoint a thing that happened in 1912.
"Guys," Sam speaks up. "Titanic sunk in 1912, does that mean... we're talking to someone from the Titanic?"
Two knocks come on the ceiling.
"Alright, well, someone else should ask them a question," Elton looks over at Jake, who nods.
"Are you a girl?"
A slight pause, then a singular knock.
"So, we're talking to a male who died on the Titanic," Elton pieces together, and Sam just continues to chew the inside of his cheek.
"I can't believe this is happening..." Sam whispers, starting to believe in the paranormal once again from just this.
"Any more questions, Jake?" Elton asks, and Sam plans out his question he's going to ask.
"How old were you?" Jake asks.
No answer.
All of the friends playing look over at the blonde, and he bites his lip. "Do you want to hurt us?"
Two knocks boom from the ceiling, then the candles going out.
