Chapter 36

Things continued on that way for nearly 2 months. For nearly the entire first leg of the tour I was on my own, and the effects that had on me seemed to ripple through my daily life. By the time I finally decided I should tell Prince what was going on behind the scenes on his tour it seemed like things had been going on so long it really made no sense to make a fuss about it now. Finally the end of July was upon us and Prince could clearly tell something had been going on.

"Baby." his familiar firm arms wrapped around my waist as he pressed the bare front of his body to my exposed back. Glancing up into the brightly lit mirror over the sink, I watched as he buried his face in the crook of my neck, teeth dragging gently over that spot he knew all to well was my weakness. "Tell me." words mumbled into my still damp, fresh from the shower skin, sending a chill across my body. Resting one of my hands over his on my lower abdomen, as my other came up and sank into his thick hair. I knew he knew what was going on, I didn't know how much he knew, but his actions of late had told me he knew enough. He was just waiting for me to tell him. For me to be honest; for me to ask for his help. I watched, unable to pull my eyes away as his free hand drifted lower on my body, until his fingertips disappeared into my dripping clef.

"Ah," my head rolled back, giving his mouth more room to play along the line of my stretched neck as his fingers worked me like one of his favorite guitars. "Please. . .Please Prince..." My stance widened without question, giving him more room to search my body as his hips rolled behind me, his hot, hard member leaving a trail of pre-cum along the cheek of my ass. Tongue pulling up the column of my neck, stopping to nibble on my ear.

"Tell me mama." two fingers dipped deep into my heat bringing a gasp of air over my lips. My mind a blur with the wild sensations he was causing to wash over me, but he words ringing in my ear with his underlying meaning. "Come on Alexa." fingers working faster, his free hand coming up to grasp my breast, rolling my sensitive nipple.

"Help me Prince." the cry left my body as I teetered on the brink of my orgasm and was met with a satisfied groan from the man behind me. Without a word, his hands moved to my back, bending me towards the mirror, before gripping my hips and slamming hard into my heat. my eyes were lost in the reflection of his in the mirror as he punished my body from behind. Sex was a nearly nightly event with us, always after the shows in his dressing room, but this was different. His sharp hips crashing against me in that hotel bathroom as I gripped the countertop, he was reminding me that he was in charge. Each grunt, each low growl that echoed from his chest served to remind me that he is the alpha here, that I am his to protect, to care for, to defend. My eyes stayed locked on his as the sudden wave of ecstasy spread from my core through my limbs as my whole body trembled in his grip. A few more rough thrusts and he held me against his pelvis, his hips moving in little piercing thrusts as he poured his essence into my core. A hot, open mouthed kiss landed on my still trembling shoulder as he pulled out of me.

"I have some interviews to take care of." Standing me upright and turning me in his arms to face him as I felt him trickling down the inside of my thigh. "Be ready by 7," pushing my hair back behind my ear as he smiled at me "we're going out for dinner and I'm taking care of your problem tonight." with that he left me in the bathroom, satiated, but slightly confused.

Hours later I found myself in a fairly simple sleeveless dark purple, form fitting cocktail dress and black heals with my arm entwined with Prince's as we made our way down to the restaurant next to the hotel. Prince had been gone most of the day, in fact he had gotten back to the hotel with just enough time to change into his high waisted black pants and a solid white button up. His hair had gotten slightly longer and fuller since the tour had started and he was still letting his beard grow in, but keeping it meticulously shaped. I could see now just how hectic touring really was, but for some reason he really seemed to wear all that chaos well.

"I hope you're ready for a nice dinner." he whispered against my cheek as he landed a quick kiss just before we entered the quiet looking establishment. It was obvious he had closed the place for the evening so we could enjoy a nice meal without interruption, but I was starting to wonder what was really going on tonight. He'd not made another mention of taking care of my problem since this morning. Maybe he really didn't know what had been going on, I thought as we made our way to the elegant looking table in the middle of the restaurant that was perfectly set for four.

"Prince why is the table set for four?" I questioned as he pulled my chair out.

"So we can have dinner with, friends" the awkward pause in his words struck me and I looked to the door to see Tony and Trina walking in. My heart sank to the bottom of my stomach as I watched Trina's face light up at the sight of Prince. "Tony, glad you could make it." his voice rang out as he stayed standing behind my chair.

"Thanks for the invite P..."

"Prince it's been so long." Trina's shrill voice pierced through the room as she appeared to head straight towards Prince, only to be deterred when he sat down next to me without even so much as a hello in her direction.

Dinner was awkward. No, that would be an understatement. Dinner made me wish I could crawl under the table without anyone knowing and just disappear. It felt like I was in a room filled with people who all know what's going on, but no one would tell me. Prince and Tony talked about the tour and music, Trina kept trying to join the conversation but without much luck, and from time to time Prince or Tony would try to bring me into their conversation, but it never seemed to last long. At some point after we all finished our main course Trina just completely stopped trying to jump into the their conversation and instead chose to sit across from me, sipping her wine and glaring in my direction when she thought no one was paying attention. That is, until she finally got the attention she felt she was owed.

"So Trina," the tone in his typically soft baritone changed as he shifted in his seat to look at her eager expression covering her far too made up face, "how has the tour been treating you?" he was giving her his full attention, but his left hand slowly slipped over my right thigh under the table, giving me a little squeeze.

"Oh it's been great." sitting up a little taller and squaring her shoulders as she pushed her surgically enhanced chest out slightly in his direction. "I've had a really fun time getting to know everyone," taking her wine glass and swirling the viscous red liquid as she glanced up through her lashes with a devious grin, "of course I was hoping to get more time with the musicians." I caught Tony giving her a suspect look from the side as Prince started drawing lazy lines over my thigh with his finger tips as he sat back in his chair slightly.

"Well this isn't vacation for us Trina." the tone of his voice becomes firmer as he speaks, Trina looking eager to add her two cents at any moment, but he was not allowing her to get a word in until he saw fit. "We stay pretty busy while we're on the road and that does leave a lot of time for things to happen with out us knowing, or at least that's how it appears if you're not paying attention."

"Well of course you can't be everywhere all the time," her overly dramatic laugh fell flat like a knife scratching a piece of fine china, "but we've managed to create a little family behind the scenes Prince, I mean we're all here to support you."

"I think you mean to support the tour." Tony's irritated and confused sounding voice finally entered the conversation as he looked down at Trina without her even bothering to return the eye contact he was trying to make. Her only acknowledgement of her boyfriend being a silent shrug of her shoulders.

"Speaking of that family," Prince turned in his chair, bring his hand from my thigh and pushing a few stray hairs back behind my ear, "how have things been going with everyone while I've been so busy?" the slight glint in those multifaceted eyes told me he knew what he was doing and there was a point to all of this. As I opened my mouth to speak, still not sure what words would tumble out, she invited herself into the conversation.

"Oh Prince," acting coy as she reached over to brush her fingers over the back of his hand that was now gripped around his glass of water, "I'm sure you don't want to hear all about our boring days."

"I didn't ask you." Pulling his hand back from the glass and her touch, turning his full attention back to me. This was my chance to clearly express my frustration and as I drew a deep breath I told myself I wasn't going to miss this opportunity.

"Well," I began as I looked across the waiting faces of the three people at the table, "Trina here hasn't been my biggest fan and for some reason after the night of the first show no one has really wanted anything to do with me." My eyes stayed on Prince as I spoke and his stoic expression didn't change with anything I said. From the corner of my eye I noticed Trina crossing her arms over her chest and cocking an eyebrow at me while Tony just looked completely confused.

"Huh." broad shoulders covered in that crisp white shirt jumped slightly as he made that universally known questioning sound. His fingers entwined with mine on the table top as his gaze turned to the defiant looking woman sitting across from me. "What's been going on Trina?" She drew in a deep, loud breath through her nose as she started to explain, and I was hanging on her every word.

"Honey she's not right for you and we all know it?"

"Honey?" Tony's voice loud as he looked at her like she'd grown a second head.

"Don't call me that." familiar lips pursed and I watched as his jaw clenched under his dark beard. "And when did you decide she wasn't right for me? Was it the night you watched us having sex from the doorway of my dressing room?" He knew she was there I asked myself, my eyes widening without my permission.

"What the fuck!" Tony exclaimed like an innocent bystander watching an atrocity unfold right before his eyes.

"I know things about this girl. . ." her voice sharp as she jumped to defend herself and change the topic

"I've heard what you think you know." Prince's voice rising as his face became colder.

"You watched them have sex?" Tony was clearly struggling to move past that little piece of information as the entire room seemed to be engulfed in tension.

"She's not the type of person you want to associate with." those were the last words I was going to stand about me.

"What the hell is it you think you know about me that's so bad?" turning my burning eyes to her, my temper finally boiling over.

"You know exactly what you did you miserable bitch."

"Don't say another word Trina." Prince growled from his position next to me.

"No Trina," standing from my chair, "just what have you told everyone about me?" my voice on the verge of yelling.

"Shut up Trina." Prince warned as he stood next to me, wrapping his arm around my waist "keep your misinformed mouth shut for once."

"She wants to know," her eyes shifting between the two of us, "did you forget already?"

"Damn it Trina!"

"You're a baby killer!" my breath caught in my chest, I felt like I'd been punched everywhere all at once. My body jolting from that verbal punch she threw in my direction.

"Shut her up Tony!" Prince yelled as he watched the color strip from my face. Tony tried pulling Trina to him, trying and failing to stop what was about to happen.

"Alysha told me all about what happened." her mouth just wouldn't stop moving and the words continued pouring out. "How you killed your baby after you decided you're boyfriend wasn't going to make in the industry." Her words didn't make and sense and just kept swirling through my head. "Now you're just out here looking to trap a bigger name."

"Alysha told you. . ."

"Prince has always wanted a family, you think he wants to be with a baby killer?" even though the story she had was wrong, completely wrong, her words still cut. They cut straight to my deepest insecurity.

"Tony get this bitch out of here!" Prince yelled, a sound so unfamiliar to me, as he tried to wrap his arms around my waist. "I want her on the first fucking flight out of this country, I don't care where the duck she goes and I never want her around me or Alexa again!" his arms trembled around me as I shook him off, Trina's words still running through my mind like a fast moving computer virus corrupting everything in my mind. Free of his grip I turned quickly on my heels and moved quickly to the front door of the restaurant. The last thing I heard as I left the room was my name thick with concern forced from his lungs.
