"Excuse me, can you tell me where Lydia Martin is?"

Frantically, I looked around the hospital, my eyes suddenly landing on my younger brother. Not bothering to listen to the nurse's reply, I dashed over, trying not to skid on the corridor floors.

Upon seeing me approach, Liam started to stand up, his face twisted in anger. "Where the hell have you been?"

"I'm sorry, I got caught up with-"

"Theo, right?" He shook his head with a scoff. "You've been with Theo."

"Liam-" I started, but he cut me off again.

"Are you with him? Are you on his side?"

"No, Liam. I'm with you guys, I've always been with you guys," I assured, but I knew he didn't believe me. His baby blue eyes flickered to the floor again and he took a deep breath. "I think you should go."

"Don't be like this," I shook my head, swallowing the hurt lump in my throat. Knowing that my own brother couldn't bring himself to trust me hurt more than anything in the world.

"All I care about right now is saving Mason," he said, his harsh voice cutting through me like knives. "I don't need you or your psycho boyfriend getting in the way of that, okay?"

"Liam, I care about Mason as much as you do. I promise I won't let Theo do anything to him."

Liam stared at me for a moment, both of our eyes meeting. He seemed like he was having an inner struggle in his head and I hoped he was seeing sense. I didn't want to jeopardise saving Mason in any way. I wasn't with Theo.

"Kara?" Scott's voice sounded unsure as I removed my gaze from Liam, and turned around, to see him walking over to the two of us.

"I just heard, I came as quickly as I could," I informed, stepping closer as I silently pleaded with him to trust me. "Is she okay?"

"She's gonna be fine, but..." He sighed. "She can't really talk."

"It's over, isn't it?" My brother asked, his voice quivering slightly. "There's nothing we can do to save him."

Scott's phone vibrated and he glanced down at it. "Give me a second."

I watched as Scott headed further down the corridor and exhaled, closing my eyes for a moment, tiredness suddenly getting the better of me. "I need you to trust me when I say that we'll find a way," I told Liam, causing him to glance up at me, his eyes watery with tears. "Please, Liam. Let me help."

He shook his head. "It's over. Just go, Kara."

I stepped back in shock, my brain and body numb. My brothers words felt like multiple punches in the face. I was completely dumbfounded, unable to think or move.

Scott came back over and I managed to pull my lips into an apologetic expression. "I'm sorry."

Scott seemed to open his mouth to protest but I'd already started to walk away.

"I knew you'd be back," Theo smirked as I stepped into the room. He turned around, stepping closer to me. "I'm glad you've chosen the right side this time."

"Mm."

"As much as I'd like to stay and chat," his hand brushed down my arm, making me want to shudder. "We have work to do."

"Did you kill Tracy?"

"She was a liability," he answered nonchalantly.

"And you needed her power," I corrected. How stupid did he think I was?

"That too."

"Are you gonna do the same to me?"

Theo's hand slowly reached up to cup the side of my face. His thumb brushed over my skin and he began to smile. "Why would I ever hurt you?"

I let out a shaky breath, not entirely believing him. "You're not gonna hurt my friends though, are you?" I asked nervously, feeling slightly on edge by the thought of the things Theo was capable of. I didn't want Liam to get hurt and I also couldn't bear the thought of any of the others being hurt by Theo's destruction too.

"Relax, I'm not gonna hurt your brother." I stared at him, waiting for him to continue and hopefully promise the same for the others. He realised I was waiting and sighed. "I can't promise the same for the others."

"Theo-" I tried to protest, but he cut me off.

"Kara, we're special," I started to roll my eyes when I realised he had another cheesy speech coming on. "We're predators. What kind of werewolves, werecoyotes would we be if we didn't hunt? If we didn't kill?" His thumb brushed along my cheek again and I winced under his touch.

"The non evil, mudering ones," I retorted back.

He laughed half-heartedly. "It's in or nature, Kara. You can't deny it. Don't tell me you haven't felt the ravenous urge just to rip something apart yet."

"Oh yeah, definitely," I said, narrowing my eyes at Theo.

"You need to give me your word that when the time comes, I can trust you not to interfere. I need to know that your loyalties lie with me and not with Scott."

"I can't promise you that," I said, mocking his previous words. "But I can promise that I'm part of your pack. And that you need me to pull this off."

Theo bit his lip, nodding. He knew he needed me. He knew that he wouldn't get past the others without me. Theo Raeken would never survive without my help.

"That's right," I stepped forwards, not being able to hide the triumphant smirk on my face. "You need me."

"Is that really how much you doubt my abilities?"

I ignored his question. "You knew this would happen," I accused as Theo's hand finally dropped back to his side. "You knew that, if you saved me from the beast, the night it attacked the school, that you would be able to manipulate me into helping you. You knew how it would look to Scott and Liam when they agreed to meet us. You knew that, after that, none of them would trust me. My own brother wouldn't trust me. And I'd end up back at the beginning again. Back with you."

"You're smart, Kara."

"Thanks for finally figuring that one out," I replied sarcastically.

"Truthfully, I don't need you," his eyes changed into something darker, more nefarious. "I want you."

"Well, guess what, Theo," I stepped closer, so that our bodies were almost touching. There was a small inch of space between our lips and my breath hitched in my throat, my voice coming out as more of a whisper. "You got me."

Ooh so is Kara really on Theo's side now??

I'm aiming to have one more chapter and then this will be finished. Hopefully, it will either be up tonight or tomorrow (:
