Smoke was caught in my lungs as I rolled over to the side, coughing and spluttering.

I glanced briefly at Stiles who was beside me and then up at Theo.

"The body. The body's gone"

I looked around, hoping to catch sight of anything.

"We should get you to the hospital" Theo said. "You took in a lot of smoke"

"I'm fine" Stiles said.

"Me too"

I sighed and the two of us stood up, heading over to the jeep.

I paused when I heard the sound of the radio crackling.

"Suspect in 1-8-7 is in custody and en route to station. Suspect's name is Yukimura, Kira"

Kira?

"What's a 1-8-7?" Theo and I said simultaneously.

Stiles exhaled. "Homicide"

Theo, Stiles and Malia were talking in the kitchen.

I wasn't paying attention to them.

I was too busy sat on the couch, worrying about my brother.

I felt sick. The thought of losing him was painful.

I'm the older sibling, I'm the one that should have been protecting him.

"Kara"

My attention was pulled away from my thoughts as I looked up at Theo.

"You okay?"

"Do I look okay?" I snapped. Then I felt bad. "Sorry I'm just worried"

He sat down beside me, placing his hand on my knee.

"We'll find him. I promise"

"You can't- you can't promise something like that. What if something bad has happened? Like really bad? He could be dead or dying and we're just sat here doing absolutely nothing!"

"Hey" he reached for my hand. "It's okay"

"Stop saying things like that! This isn't okay, none of this is okay!"

He didn't reply.

"I'm sorry" I sighed. "I'm just- I'm so scared of losing him"

"I know" Theo squeezed my hand. "I know how you feel and I know what it feels like to have your sibling go missing"

Before I could even think of a response, Scott burst through the front door and the attention turned to him.

"Hey is Kira okay?" Stiles asked.

Scott ignored him and headed past us and upstairs.

"Scott?" Theo frowned.

The four of us shared looks before following him upstairs.

I was the last person to reach the door so when they all came to a sudden halt, I couldn't see anything.

"Don't get too close" Lydia warned.

I stood on my tiptoes, peering over Theo's shoulder.

"What is he doing?" I asked.

"Tapping into Corey's memories" Lydia replied. "It's usually something only alphas can do"

Theo walked to the other side of Scott to get a better look. "Is it as dangerous as it looks?"

"Probably more" Stiles commented.

"Does anyone know if it's working?" Mason questioned.

Scott suddenly gasped and fell backwards and we all reached out to catch him.

"Is he okay?" Stiles questioned.

"What hell did you do to me!" Corey yelled.

"You'll be alright" Scott promised.

Corey placed his hand behind his neck and then pulled it away. "There's blood"

"You'll heal" Scott said.

"Scott-" Stiles started.

"He'll be fine!" Scott shouted. "Listen. I think it worked. I saw something" he grabbed a notepad. "There were tunnels. Pipes along the walls. There were these huge blue pipes at the entrance. Two on both sides"

"Wait a second I know this" Stiles said as he peered at the sketch Scott had drawn. "I've seen this before. That's one of the tunnels I used to skateboard in" he explained. "Remember my dad caught me one time and told me to never go back?"

"It's the water treatment plant" Lydia confirmed.

"That's where they are" Scott said. "That's where we'll find Liam and Hayden" He dashed off down the stairs and I ran after him, determined to go and help find my brother.

"Scott! Scott slow down just think for a second okay!" Stiles yelled after his best friend. "Kara and Mason should be going"

"Liam's my best friend" Mason said. "I'm going"

"He's my brother. I'm going too" I said.

"Oh did you suddenly get suddenly wolf powers?" Stiles sassed. "I wasn't aware of the development"

"He's my brother. Wolf powers or not I will do anything to find him" I said.

"Well, if you're not going, I could use the help" Scott said.

"No, I'm coming just as soon as I talk to my dad. They're moving the body and he wants to make sure that this time no one steals it"

"How's he gonna do that?" Malia asked.

"I don't know. But whoever took the last one was strong enough to flip my Jeep"

Malia pointed at Theo. "We can bring Theo"

"Maybe I better stay here" he said. "You know, in case the Doctors decide to make a house call for Corey"

"Scott, Stiles is right. We need to slow down and think" Lydia said.

"I am thinking. About how Liam and Hayden could already be dead"

"You could've hurt him, Scott" she argued. "Really hurt him"

"I have to find Liam" Scott said as we headed to the door.

"Hey, text me" Stiles said. "For anything"

"I got it" Malia reassured.

"Anything at all. Okay?"

"Liam!" I yelled out. "Liam!"

"Can you catch a scent?" Mason asked.

"There's too many chemicals" Scott replied.

"Then this might take a while"

The four of us continued running, calling out for Liam and Hayden.

I was becoming frantic.

They'd been gone for hours now.

I was doing everything I could to stop thinking about what would happen if I couldn't find Liam. If I lost him.

"Anything?" Scott asked as we met in the middle.

"Nothing" Malia shook her head.

"Hayden!" I heard Mason yelling. He stopped running when he saw us.

"Okay we need to make sure we're not covering the same area" Scott said, stopping to catch his breath.

"You need your inhaler. Don't you?" Mason said.

"Quiet. I think I hear something"

"It's just the lights, isn't it?" Malia asked.

Scott shook his head. "Come on. This way"

We followed him down endless amounts of tunnels. After a while I was sure we were running down the same ones.

"I'm telling you guys, we've been down this one before" I said, slowing down to catch my breath.

"What the hell are we doing? We're running up and down this place. Up and down tunnels. And there's no way. There's no way that we're gonna find-" Scott cut off, breathing heavily.

"Scott, you need your inhaler" Malia said, looking confused. He shook his head. "Scott, use it. Use your inhaler"

He wheezed, dropping to the floor and getting his inhaler out to use.

"This is all my fault" Scott breathed out. "We're never going to find them. It's my fault"

"Scott" Mason held his hand out.
Scott took it and he helped him up. "We should keep looking. We should keep trying"

"We'll find them" I said, looking between my friends. "We have to"

A/N

this lacked kheo I'm v sorry

So yesterday I finally got my mum to watch a couple of episodes of season 1 with me and I accidentally got her hooked (her favourite is Derek because she thinks he's hot 😂)

So in preparation for the 5A finale, I'm probably going to spend all day tomorrow rewatching season 1 and crying because of how perfect everything was compared to this season

BUT I AM V EXCITED (and worried) FOT THE FINALE.

Kinda hope Theo dies ngl but that would mean the end of the book and I love Kara and Theo too much to part with them

But anyway, I hope you guys liked the chapter (I am aware that it wasn't my best but I'll try and make it up to you all with lots of kheo for the next chapter  yay 😏)
