"If 99.9% of our DNA sequence is the same of other humans, what could account for the missing 0.1% difference" Ms Ramsey said as she turned around from writing on the board. "Theo?"

"Um, nucleotides" he replied.

"That's right"

Kira's hand shot up.

"Yes Kira?"

"Can there be more than one species in the same DNA?" She questioned.

"No but there can be multiple sets of DNA in the same individual. We call that a chimera. Anyone know where that term comes from?"

Sydney raised her hand.

"Sydney?"

"Greek mythology. It's a lion with a goat coming out of it's back and a tail  that ends in the head of a snake" she explained.

"That's right Sydney. Do you wanna read us the full Wikipedia entry off your phone?"

I choked back a laugh.

"But that does get us into the next topic of mutation. As you know from the reading, DNA is a fragile molecule. Isn't it, Scott?"

He looked up.

"Or did you miss last night's assigned reading?"

"Kind of"

"Kind of? Or yes?"

"Mostly yes"

"Well then. Thank you for another helpful transition in topic. Drop forms" Ms Ramsay held them up. "All those now acutely aware that they do not belong in this class-" she slammed a sheet on a girls desk. "-should fill one out" she handed another form to a few more people. "The rest will be on my desk"

Everyone grabbed their bags and headed out of the classroom.

I watched as Scott paused before picking one up.

"Scott-" I started.

"I know but with everything going on-"

"You can't save everyone" I said.

He looked at me, determination clear in his eyes.

"I can try"

"Did you get in to see Lydia?" I asked as Stiles and Malia headed into the library.

"No I tried using my free period but she's still in the ICU and no one besides family is allowed in" he said.

"We got one thing" Malia dumped a book on the table.

She opened it up and I read the title of Beastiary.

"Anything in here about half werewolves half kanimas?" Kira queried.

"The Chimera" Scott said.

"The what?" Stiles asked.

"Chimera. It's a creature made of incongruous parts. And if Liam said he found two burial sites that means Tracy's not the only one"

"Who's the second Chimera?" Kira asked.

"Yeah and why would they bury them?" Stiles added.

"Deaton thinks it's a part of their process" Scott said.

Malia nodded.

"The people in masks"
