#17: Birthday Party

It had been around two months since we visited my dad, and Jimin and I were officially dating. It was very cute the way he asked me because on our way home from our visit that day, we stopped to get ice cream on our way back to my house and he asked 'what do I order for my girlfriend?'

It took me by surprise at first but then I gave him my order. He smiled wide and when we got home he asked me to give him a chance. I happily obliged.

Two months later I couldn't be happier.

Namjoon is starting to warm up to him, but that takes time. Since he is working with him, it's getting harder for Namjoon to dislike Jimin. Jimin has been very successful with their website. He had it up and running, updates it constantly, and it is easily navigated. We have even seen more revenue since Jimin has taken over, and the revenue has paid for Jimin's salary. Even given him bonuses.

Jimin was patient. He knew how protective Namjoon was over his older sister, and respected the relationship we had. He never pushed Namjoon, never said anything about his protective side comments or rude behavior Namjoon would still display in our personal lives. I would scold him but Jimin reminded me that Namjoon needed to accept our relationship on his own time. 'It's still new.' He would tell me. Let him see how good I am to you on his own time.

"Noona, what do you want for your birthday this year?" Namjoon asked me one day at our family dinner.

I laughed. "Nothing." I said, making Jin roll his eyes. "Seriously, I don't want or need anything."

"What about a trip?"

"Trip?"

"Yeah." Namjoon shrugged. "Trip for two, a long weekend somewhere. Maybe Germany? You always used to talk about wanting to travel."

"Trip for two, huh?" I asked, seeing the annoyance on his face. "Who would go with me?"

"I figure your boyfriend would." He mumbled making Jin laugh.

"You would want me to go on a short vacation with the boyfriend you don't like and pay for it?"

"I don't not like him." He defended. "I'm just still getting use to him."

Jin scoffed. "You are ridiculous. That boy has helped us out so much and I told you that he would be worth giving a try. Can you just at least admit that you like him?"

"I said I didn't not like him. Not that I liked him."

Both Jin and I rolled our eyes. "He's good to Noona." Jin retaliated. "That's all that matters to me."

"Thank you Jin." I smiled.

He gave me a smile back. "I'm serious. I have never seen you so happy. He treats you like a damn queen and god damn do you deserve it. Namjoon is just being stubbornly protective and won't give him a chance to be a friend."

"Hey!" He defended, but Jin didn't let him.

"Don't you 'hey' me. You know I'm right. If you actually got to know Jimin you would like him, I know you would. And you would be happy for Noona."

"I am happy for Noona."

"Right."

"Alright, that's enough." I said, stopping them from arguing further about this. "Namjoon will get there on his own time." I said to Jin then turned to Joon. "But don't take long just to be stubborn. I really, really like him."

He rolled his eyes.

Just then Jin got a text message and a wide smile. "Alright. We are having cake, ice cream and opening presents at Tae's new place." He looked up with a smile. "We can walk, but I have to go get my present from my car."

He stood and jogged to the font door, leaving Namjoon and I in the room by ourselves. I stood and picked up my plate and Jin's taking them into the kitchen, Namjoon following after me.

"It really isn't that I don't like him." I heard him say as I rinsed off the dishes.

"Then what is it?" I asked. "You wont talk to me about it so I don't know what to think."

"I know." He sighed taking the dishes from me and loading the dishwasher. "I just don't want to see you hurt. Jimin isn't that much younger than me, and things kind of...fell into his lap. I don't want him to think you are....easy."

"Hey!"

"No that's not what I mean. I mean, I don't want him to think that he doesn't have to work every day to make you feel special. I want him to understand that you are deserving of a man who puts in all his efforts in making you happy. I know he met dad...but..."

"That was the last time he was lucid." I whispered.

He nodded. "Exactly. So he even heard it from him. You deserve to feel loved every day."

"We have only just started dating Namjoon. Love takes time."

"You already love him." He accused, making my eyes go wide. He then smiled. "I know how easy it is for you to fall in love and it's okay. I just don't want him to get scared because you know how you feel and run like a little bitch."

We stared at each other for a moment before I sighed heavily hearing the front door open and Jin walking back inside. "Listen. Have I told you that Jimin texts me or calls me every morning or every night that he's not with me. He snapchats me when he's out with his friends. He tells me when women hit on him, and has actually left bars when those women don't take no for an answer. He made my finger print one of the ways to unlock his phone and didn't ask me to do the same for him. I know these are minimal gestures, but they are there. I trust him."

"Do you love him?"

Jin walked in, stopping behind Namjoon pretending to hit him over the head with a small wrapped box. I giggled making Namjoon look behind him, and Jin stop his movements and just stare at him.

"I want to tell him first, if I love him. But again, it's a little soon."

"Love has no timeline." I heard Jin say, making us both look over at him. "Noona, how long have you been friends with Hobi?"

"Years." I laughed.

"And it took me how long to fall in love with him? Days. I may have not said it, but I was. He's my forever and I knew it from the very beginning. Sometimes you just know. Time is insignificant."

Namjoon nodded and looked back over to me and I rolled my eyes again. "Boys, I will tell Jimin I love him when I feel its right."

"Fair enough." Jin said. "Are we ready to go?"

I nodded and Namjoon stopped by his car grabbing a large heavy box, struggling to walk down the road with it. Jin and I offered to help but he was stubborn and insisted that he was good. Once we made it over, there were several cars there, including ones I recognized from work.

Jin opened the door and several people, including Jimin shouted "Surprise!" to me. I really was surprised and once we were all inside, the door closed, Jimin ran to me and embraced me in a tight hug. "Surprise, Noona." He whispered to me before kissing me on my cheek.

"Did you do this?" I asked, as the rest of them settled into the house.

"I did." He grinned. "I wanted you to have as many presents as possible." He giggled pointing to the table with several wrapped boxes on it, and a few wine bottles.

I felt my heart flutter and my stomach flop a little. When he looked back over to me, his smile bright and blinding, I closed my eyes and leaned into him. He wrapped his arm around me again, hugging me warmly.

"You are the best present." I said to him. "As cheesy as that sounds, all I want is you."

"Oh, baby." He chuckled, his voice low. "You are going to have me later tonight." As he spoke his hand tangled in my hair and he gave me a light tug, making me look up at him. "You are going to be stuffed full of me."

I was about to scold him when we heard a loud throat clearing from behind us. We both looked to see Namjoon raising one eye brow and his arms crossed. "I was thinking we could do gifts first. That way the guests can leave at their leisure."

"Did you know about this?" I asked trying to ignore the fact that he heard what Jimin had said to me.

"I may have helped." He said grinning now, and lowring his eye brow.

"Sneeky." I laughed and Jimin laughed along.

"Presents sound like a good idea." Jimin said. "I'll round everyone up."

He kissed me quick and then moved to talk to everyone leaving Namjoon to guide me to the living room.

"So you knew Jimin was doing this for me. You don't think that's pretty special?"

"Like I said, I don't not like him."

I laughed and was distracted by everyone coming into the room. I received a lot of wine, a few cards, and a few pieces of clothing that I knew Hobi picked out and told people go get. Jin got me a new phone, and Namjoon's giant heavy box was a luggage case with several items in it. Once all the excitement came down, Taehyung was basically jumping in his seat and I gave him a concerned look.

"You look as if you're about to explode." I laughed now that it was just us and all the guests busied themselves with the cake.

"I'm just so excited for you to open Jimin's present."

I was confused. Wasn't the party his gift? I turned to Jimin who was grinning widely and walked over to the part of the couch that was against the wall. He pulled a very heavy, very large looking square item from its place.

"You got me a TV?" I asked. It was huge, almost as if it was a 32' TV screen.

"No, Noona. I didn't get you a TV."

I turned to Taehyung. "You know what it is?"

"I'm the only one that knows. Open it."

When I got down on the ground, as it was unrealistically heavy and started tearing at the paper. Jimin sat down leaning against the couch, watching as I tore at the paper. It was a large picture frame, and as I tore at the paper, Jimin just watched, his face calm and his eyes patient.

He looked serene in this way, and I was almost lost in his look as I heard Jin gasp once the rest of the paper fell away from the frame. I leaned it back, letting it rest against the other side of the couch and my reaction mimicked Jins.

I gasped and my hand flew to my mouth, covering my lips and nose as I tried to stop all the tears from running down my face.

I couldn't though, and the started to flow instantly.

In this very heavy, very large, very expensive looking frame, was a crystal clear blown up picture of me and my father. It was the same picture that Jimin took while he was with us. It was the only time my father was lucid since he was at the facility, and it was the last time he was lucid with any of us, even Namjoon and Jin.

My forehead rested on my fathers; you could see his hand holding the bottom of my head, and the small but genuine smiles we had in the moment the picture was captured. It was beautiful.

"How?" I asked, leaning down and pressing my forehead on the floor. "How did you do this?"

I started to sob and I felt Jimin's hand take hold of my waist and pull me on his lap. My back was against his chest, and he held me tightly as I started to sob. Taehyung and Jungkook left the living room, leaving Jimin, myself, Namjoon and Jin together and distracting the other guests from what was going on.

"It took me a long time but I finally was able to find someone who could get it this big and it not be blurry or pixilated."

"You did this?" I heard Namjoon ask.

I felt Jimin nod. "I wanted to give something to her that was meaningful. I know that Mr. Kim has not been back with any of you since that day, and I know that it didn't happen often with Noona. I wanted that moment to be the memory that sticks. Not the sad ones."

"J-Jimin." I gasped. I struggled to turn around, but when I was successful I wrapped my arms and legs around him. "Thank you."

"I'm so glad you like it."

"Like it?" I asked, pulling back. His eyes were deep and his hand played with a strand of my hair. "Jimin I love it. I-"

I swallowed thickly and wiped the tears that had fallen from my eyes. "What is it?" He asked, one of his hand moving to cup my face. He moved his thumb softly back and forth over my cheek and then my jawline.

I felt an overwhelming feeling spilling out of me, as if the feelings I had been holding in were about to flood my entire being. I looked up to see Namjoon and Jin still in the room, but standing back, and I saw Jin smiling, and Joon look neutral. When I locked eyes with Namjoon he nodded at me once, making me return my gaze to Jimin.

"I love you, Jimin." I smiled.

I felt his body tense immediately, and his eyes went wide. Just a second later, his body relaxed and the smile that I love so much spread his lips and he let out a small laugh. "You do?"

I nodded, another tear falling. He wiped it away and then pulled me in, kissing me deeply. His perfect plump lips moved smoothly across mine, and I heard him take in a deep breath through his nose. As I was pressed up against him, I could feel his heart beating wildly in his chest. My own heart had to have been breathing just as hard.

When he disconnected the kiss, he pulled me so that my face was tucked into his neck and he rocked me slightly.

"I love you too, Y/N."

I closed my eyes and hugged him even tighter. We stayed there together for a long while before Jin came over and tapped me on the shoulder.

"There are some people who are going to be leaving. You should probably say goodbye."

I nodded and Jimin let go of me smiling. "I will go put this in the spare room for now." He said. I smiled and gave him a kiss thanking him.

I said my thank yous and goodbyes to several coworkers, one making me laugh as she left.

"Girl you better hold on to that one." She said gesturing to Jimin. "I thought about walking around naked to get his attention before I saw him kiss you."

I laughed. "He would probably look." I joked.

She smiled. "No. He has had his eyes on you the entire day. He wouldn't notice if the entire room was naked and you were fully clothed. You would be all he would be paying attention to."

"Really?" I asked, blushing by her comment.

She nodded. "I've seen him at work. He gets hit on a lot, especially by Amy down in HR. He blows her off every time. You've got a good one."

I smiled and turned over to Jimin who was looking right at me. "I think so too." I said giving her a hug as he left.

Once everyone was gone I walked over to Jimin and wrapped my arms around him from behind as he was cleaning up the living room. I started kissing heavily on the back of his neck, making him groan deep within his chest.

"Noonaaaaa."

I giggled at his reaction, his body starting to heat up. "Jiminie, baby, I want to go home now."

He took in a sharp inhale turning and grabbing my hand, leading me to the front door. "Taehyung-ah! I will be back tomorrow to finish cleaning and get the picture from my bedroom."

"Bye!" he called back.

I giggled and was suddenly pushed up against his car, his keys in his hands as he grinded his hardened member into me. "Mmmm.' He groaned. "I don't know if I can wait until we get to your house."

I smirked and cupped his member, feeling it throb under my fingers. "If you make it to my house, I'll show you what the back of my throat feels like."

He opened the door and pushed me in hurrying to the drivers side. I couldn't help but laugh at his behavior. I truly did enjoy my time with him.

I know I loved him.

And that night he proved to me how much he loved me.
