"Guess what?"

"What?"

Soo slams the door of the apartment, causing the walls to shake with the impact. She shuts off the television and flips on the lights and pushes Anais' feet from the coffee table, causing the carton of ice cream in her hand to nearly tumble to their carpeted floors.

It's a Friday night, and Anais has been curled up in a blanket in the dark watching Playing It Cool with Chris Evans and now she's kind of pissed because you don't just pause Chris Evans.

Anais lifts an eyebrow. "And you say I'm dramatic?"

"This is serious, Ana!"

Anais frowns, bringing a new spoonful of Triple Chocolate to her mouth.

"What is it, Soo?"

"You'll never believe what just happened."

"What?"

"Anais, I'm freaking out..."

"What?"

"I was walking home and...Oh my god, Ana I run into...Anais I said 'yes'..."

"Soo, what???"

"Anais..." Her face is buried in her hands.

"Soo...?"

"Louis just asked me out."

"You Bradford son of a bitch."

"What-Lou, what the hell?"

Louis practically throws himself into the flat and out of the window, because Zayn is sitting on the fire escape having a smoke, and there's not enough space for the two of them to both be out there, but Louis has practically given Zayn a heart attack and he very nearly chokes on his cigarette.

It's still Friday night, and Zayn was sitting outside in solitude until his mate came home and made a scene. Niall hasn't come from dinner yet and he's been expecting him before Louis, since they were supposed to chill and watch the game.

"Anais, Zayn?"

Zayn furrows his brow, taking another drag on his cigarette. "What about her?"

"I have to find out from Liam through Niall? And then I get it confirmed by Soo?"

He shakes his head. "What the hell are you talking about?"

"Anais!"

"Okay?" Zayn is visibly confused. "What about her?"

Louis narrows his eyes. "I thought we were better mates than that, honestly."

"I like, I swear I don't know what you're talking about, Lou."

"You start dating one of my best mates and decide not to tell me?"

"What?"

"He did what?"

"I know!" Soo sighs, sinking into the couch beside her. "It was all out of the blue-Ha. It was literally all out of the Lucky Blue Smith."

"Not funny," Anais grunts as Soo sighs, shaking her head. Leave it to her to make jokes in this situation.

Anais sticks her spoon in the ice cream. "So, what'd you say?"

"Heh-" She grins sheepishly. "Well, I said 'yes-'"

"Of course."

"But, what was I supposed to do? Say 'no?'"

Anais rolls her eyes. "I can't believe you didn't see this coming, honestly."

"Umm, excuse me? What?"

"Honestly, he's been crushing on you since forever, Soo Joo."

"What?"

"You're just so cute and innocent and blind you didn't notice," Ana shrugs, giggling as she spoons more chocolate into her mouth. "Surprise."

"Well, you're coming on our date."

Anais chokes. "Huh?"

"I said I'd do it if you'd double," she grins. "Heh-Surprise."

"What? Why? I don't want to third wheel! That's so weird and desperate!"

"You aren't third-wheeling," Soo chuckles. "You're double dating, obvi."

"Yeah right," Anais rolls her eyes. "Okay, great. With who? My imaginary boyfriend?"

"Um, what are you talking about? You've practically got a real boyfriend."

She snorts. "Says who?"

"Says me. Says everyone. Says Zayn Malik."

"Dating?" Zayn exclaims. "What?"

"Yeah. You thought I didn't know. How long were you gonna keep that from me, anyway?"

Zayn shakes his head, snuffing out his cigarette. "I don't know where you heard that from, Lou, but Anais and I," he shakes his head again, "we're like, we aren't-"

"S'not what Niall said," Louis says. "Said he talked to Perrie and-"

"Wait, Lou," Zayn shakes his head-Now he gets it. "Are you really gonna believe Perrie?"

Louis folds his arms across his chest. "Well," he asks, stepping back from the window.

Zayn rolls his eyes. "Well, what?"

"Well, what is it, then?"

"What is what, then?"

"What are you and Anais, Zayn. God-Are ya being purposefully daft?"

"We're...we're-"

Zayn unfortunately has no answer for this.

Aside from their last class on the roof, Anais hasn't even acknowledged the kiss, let alone spoken to him about it.

Zayn doesn't know what the fuck he and Anais are.

Louis throws up his arms. "Look, are you double dating with me or not?"

"Double dating?" Zayn repeats.

Louis rolls his eyes. "Are you bringing Anais, Zayn?"

"Wait, um," he shakes his head. Zayn is beyond confused. "Let me talk to her, yeah?"

What the fuck is he going to tell Anais?

"Okay," Louis nods. "Fine, then."

"You did not talk to Zayn."

"Okay well," Soo huffs, "obviously not, since I don't know him."

Anais sighs in relief.

"But, there's no way that if everyone in the school thinks you're dating, you haven't at least heard-"

"Believe me, I haven't," Anais says, kicking off her blankets.

Soo seems unconvinced. "So you're not-?"

"Not what?" Anais laughs.

"Well, do you at least like him?"

"I-Uh..."

Okay, so that's the question, really. Obviously, Anais thinks he's attractive-How could you not? But, Zayn is, well, Zayn and he's impossible to read, so even if Anais did possibly, sort of, maybe, kind of like him, would she ever find out if he had feelings for her, too?

She shakes her head. "I've taken a vow of celibacy, so it's impossible for me to answer that question."

"I hate you," laughs Soo.

"It's the life I lead."

"Well, you don't have to unbuckle your chastity belt on a date," Soo states. Then, she grins, "Unless you want to."

"I'm not fucking him, Cara!"

"I didn't say you were, Ana," Soo sings. "And excuse you, I'm not Cara!"

Anais laughs.

"But I do need you right now, bestie. Please? It'll be so much less weird if you were there, too!"

"Okay, okay," Anais sighs, because yeah, even though she knew that Louis had feelings for her, Soo is just a cute little oblivious baby and she knows this.

Soo jumps happily, throwing her arms around Anais' shoulders.

"Thank you, thank you! God, Ana; I love you!"

"I know, I know," she grins, except her grin falls because damn it, now she's practically going out on a date with Zayn.

Holy shit she just got nervous.

Soo runs from the room. "I'm gonna tell Louis you're in!" She calls down the hall.

"Okay," Anais replies, the nervousness expanding in her stomach.

She falls onto the couch and groans, feeling her blankets vibrate beneath her.

It's her phone.

She picks it up.

She's missed a text from Zayn.

Hi, so...Apparently we're dating? x
