(y/n) - your name

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"(y/n)?" the girl hides further beneath the blanket when she hears her boyfriend's voice, feeling the bed dip by her feet as she covered her face with her arms. "Do you want to go out today? The weather is nice. I got you tea as well..." hearing his soft voice made (y/n) feel sick even further, hating how sweet and patient he was being with her while she just wanted to hide away from everything. She hated herself, being a hassle and burden to this sweet boy, wanting him to just realise that he didn't want her and move on like everybody always does. "We don't have to go out. We can watch a movie or read a book?" Draco purses his lips as he pulls the blanket down to see nothing, realising that his girlfriend was making herself invisible but her body was there as the mattresses dipped beneath her. He wanted to let her know that he would wait for her no matter how long it takes, that he wouldn't leave her. He just wanted her to know that she can count on him.

One thing the couple both learned about each other was that they kept things unspoken. Unspoken words that would've helped each other realise how they feel and yet they have been brought up to bottle everything down and push them away until it became too much. They didn't know how to talk about what they felt, didn't know what to say. It all became a heavy weight on their hearts, sinking deeper and deeper.

They tried, tried so hard to say those words but they couldn't. So they sat silently together for some time until Draco left (y/n)'s bedroom with her tea now cold on her bedside table. She heard the bedroom door closed and she wiped her tears away, pulling a pillow over her head.

Why am I like this?

Why am I so pathetic?

Why do I make it so much harder for everyone else?

Draco runs his hands down his face, wondering why he couldn't do anything properly. He slammed his bedroom door closed behind him, yelling out in frustration as he threw his books across the room.

I can't do anything right!

I can't even comfort my own girlfriend!

What kind of useless boyfriend am I!?

(y/n) jumps when she heard yelling from Draco's room, frowning at how she was hurting him like she knew she would eventually. She sat up in her bed, her heart telling her to comfort him but she couldn't move in fear she would be making it worse. So she left. She got up from her room and left the Manor, walking across the Manor grounds to take in the warmth of the sun.

Draco was right, it was a nice day...

She hesitated but forced herself to head back inside the Manor, walking up the stairs to her boyfriend's bedroom door. She went to knock on it but couldn't, pausing against the wood. No, they weren't fighting but they just didn't know how to express what they wanted to each other properly. (y/n) went to her room, writing down on a piece of paper before walking back out to slip it beneath the gap of his door. He instantly noticed the paper flying out into his room, putting down the books he picked up again since he couldn't stand his room being in a mess. He went to pick it up, recognising his girlfriend's chicken scratch and opened his bedroom door to see her take a step back from the doorway. He opened the note and read it.

Do you want to go on a walk with me outside? You were right, it's nice out today.

Draco quickly realised how (y/n) struggled with her words just as he did, smiling at her effort to still talk to him. "Yes. Let's go." he nods, taking hold of her hand and leading her back outside. He felt warm again being near her, seeing the small smile on her face as they walked through the flower fields behind the Manor. The couple enjoyed their time together, not saying a word but listening to the birds singing, the animals from the zoo in the far distance or the buzzing of insects flitting around them. They both sat down in the middle of the field, surrounded by the flowers as (y/n) leaned her head against Draco's chest as he picked some of the flowers to make a crown.

Who knew the boy had it in him to be a sweet boyfriend?

He placed the crown on his girlfriend's head as she sat between his legs, hugging him tightly as she buried her face against his chest. He knew that she was trying to show that she was sorry, trying to apologise with her actions and he moved to hug her tightly. The two of them were stubborn, hard-headed teens who thought they were always right. So it was hard for either of them to apologise to anyone.

"I'm sorry..." Draco heard (y/n) talk and he sighs out from the weight that lifts from his shoulders, holding the back of her head gently and leaning his forehead on top of it

"It's ok. Everything is ok." suddenly the bright day turned dim, a few clouds blocking the sun before it started raining. Not hard enough for it to storm, a sort of warm downpour that mixed so well with the summer air. The Hufflepuff quickly got up to escape the rain but her boyfriend had other ideas, pulling her towards their crystal lake.

"The rain-"

"-is perfect for a swim." she blinks at him in surprise as he pulls them through the vines to stand before their secret spot, the Slytherin quickly stripping down to his boxers before jumping into the slightly warm water. His girlfriend wasn't sure but didn't think too much about it since she was soaked already, leaning her head up against the rain as she lets out a deep breath with a smile on her face.

Draco turned around to give (y/n) her privacy, shuddering against her touch when she swam up to him and held his shoulder while leaning her head against the middle of his back. He turns around and pulls her close with his arms around her waist, watching the way the rain droplets fell through her lashes and down her pink cheeks beautifully like liquid gems. He nuzzles his nose with hers, caressing her cheek when she nods and he leans down to kiss her softly as the two float above the crystals that coloured the water in different colours.

"What are you doing?" Draco asks when he opens the door to (y/n)'s room, seeing her pile up a mess of random items in the middle with mini piles around her. There were boxes stacked up against the wall all labelled with 'throw away' or 'keep'.

"Sorting through my things seeing if I want to keep them or not."

"Is this everything you own?" It shocked the boy to see how his Puff's belongings all managed to fit in only a couple of boxes.

"Excluding what your mum got me and the things in this room before I stayed here... yeah..." he moves to sit down on the floor next to her, watching her go through her belongings. He saw how hesitant she was about throwing things away, like she needed every piece to show a portrait of who she was as a person, each item claiming a moment in her life. He couldn't relate but he understood, especially when he would go through the journal she gifted him with photos through the years.

"Let me help you." Draco says, pulling out a stack of old textbooks from the first few years at Hogwarts. "You differently don't need those."

"Yeah, I give them all to Ginny when she needs them. I'll send these to her." (y/n) says, setting them aside and peering into the box to see her old notebooks. "Do I need these? We have exams and stuff-I don't know-"

"-we might need them later." the Slytherin chuckles lightly, helping his Puff sort through her things. Most of the stuff she wanted to chuck were random little knick knacks like marbles or bouncy balls. "What's this?" he picked up a paper crane and the Hufflepuff quickly takes it before he could unravel it. "Wait, is that the crane I made you?" he grins seeing his girlfriend huff before carefully putting it on her shelf.

Why is that so cute?

Draco opened a trunk and saw various letters and notes in there too, recognising the writing and his heart melts thinking that (y/n) kept every note and letter he sent her. It was such a simple thing but she kept it all and truth be told, he kept all her letters and notes too. Even the little doodles she does in class.

"Right, forgot I came in here for a reason." the platinum blonde-haired boy remembers what he wanted to ask, his girlfriend turning to look at him. "There's a new ice cream store that opened in Hogsmeade if you want to join me?"

"Yes! Let's go!" the Hufflepuff was happy to do something other than sorting through her things but her boyfriend quickly stops her.

"And leave this mess? No way. We're cleaning this room up first."

"Nooooo." she whines out and he gently pushes her back into her room with an amused smile.

"There's not much to do. Better now than later, trust me." the two quickly clean up the mess in (y/n)'s room, throwing away the boxes full of junk and putting away the kept ones in her walk-in wardrobe before they cleaned themselves up. Draco waited downstairs by the fireplace in his suit, looking up to see his girlfriend dash into the room in a lovely maroon dress.

She always looked so pretty.

"Ready?"

"Yeah!"

"Did you take the nausea pills? This isn't going to be comfortable for your first time."

"I did. So how are we getting there?"

"Using Floo Powder." the Slytherin takes a handful of powder in his hand, pouring some into the Hufflepuff's hand as he showed her what to do. "Just need to stand in here and clearly say Hogsmeade. Now it might take you anywhere in Hogsmeade so I'll go first and you think of me when you throw the powder down. It should take you close to where I am."

"Ok..." the Hufflepuff was very unsure, watching her boyfriend smile at her softly from inside the fireplace before he yells out and throws the powder down, disappearing in a cloud of sparks and smoke. It was her turn next, warily standing in the fireplace as she thought of her boyfriend before yelling out. "Hogsmeade!"
