Harry screams out in pain as his scar burns him, the cauldron raging with fire as tendrils of smoke almost black-like ink rise from the cauldron. Wormtail and Crouch run away as a body forms from the cauldron, turning into skin and bone before the figure was robed in black. It was Voldemort, back in the flesh and alive again.
Harry watches as he walks up to Wormtail, requesting for his wand and presses it down on his unsevered one, bringing his Death Eater mark to life again. The clouds in the sky roared and darkened, a skull shrieking as its mouth opened to let out tendrils of dark smoke to drop around Voldemort. The smoke clears and Death Eaters appear before him, speaking to them and scolding them until he walks up to the girl laying on the ground.
He leans down and picks up her chin, her hair falling back to reveal the red tears that fell down her cheeks. "Such a beautiful girl." Voldemort hums out, wiping the tears away from (y/n)'s face. "Such a shame I could not convince her to join me."
"Don't touch her!" Harry screams out, furious and full of rage as the man before him carelessly drops the girl down again.
"Harry! I'd almost forgotten you were here." Voldemort sneers, walking up to the boy to tell him what truly happened 13 years ago. "I could not touch you. It was old magic, something I should have foreseen. But no matter, no matter. Things have changed, I can touch you now!" Voldermort eyes Harry with fascination as he studies him, pressing his finger against his scar making him scream out in pain until he lets him go and the boy falls to the ground. He makes the boy pick up his wand, asking if he had knowledge of how to duel with a manic and obsessed expression. Voldemort bows and makes Harry bow with his magic before casting the crucio spell on him.
The boy writhes in pain until the curse is lifted, struggling to get back up until the Dark Lord forced him to get back up. Harry quickly rushes to hide, catching his breath before he grits his teeth and walks back out, will of steel and on his own.
"Expelliarmus!"
"Avada Kedavra!"
A jet of green light bursts from Voldemort's wand s a jet of red light bursts from Harry's and unites in an explosion of gold. Harry struggles to keep his wand steady as it shakes in his hand, beads of light bubble to the surface of the threads and begin to slide dangerously to the boy's side as he gets pushed back until he sends it back onto Voldemort. The two were at a stalemate, domes of white smoke appearing around the two wizards until a great wailing scream echoed around them.
Suddenly two flashes of light burst from Voldemort's wand, appearing next to Harry as they take the form of his parents. "Harry when the connection is broken you must get to the portkey! We can delay it for a moment to give you time but only a moment, do you understand!?" his father informs him, tears streaming down Harry's face but he didn't know if he could do it.
"I-I can't."
"Yes you can." the boy feels another hand holding his shoulder, feeling the warmth of the red glow crawling down his arms to hold his wand steadier and he knew (y/n) was awake again.
"(y/n)!" he turns to see her but his smile falters seeing her creak her head as ink spills from the cracks in her body, dark wings spanning behind her back that dripped ink as she hovers behind him as his guardian.
"Let go. Sweetheart, you're ready. Let go! Let go!" Harry's mother tells him and (y/n) howls out with dark canines as a burst of red erupts from her arms, blasting away the Death Eaters and Voldemort who briefly breaks the connection from the shock. He howls in anger and the ghosts charge into him to blind him, Harry catching (y/n) as she falls into his arm and casts a spell to quickly bring the cup over to him and teleport them away to safety.

Draco was pacing the bleachers as he ran his fingers through his hair, worried sick for (y/n) and hoping that she was ok. It had grown dark, the task being over a long time ago and she wasn't even back yet.
Please, please let her be ok...
He suddenly hears the crowd cheer and turns around to see Harry on the floor with (y/n) and he lets out a sigh of relief but it quickly turns to panic when he realises the Gryffindor trying to shake the Hufflepuff awake. "(y/n)!" Draco didn't know if the scream came from him or from someone else, his heart plummeting when he saw her face fall to the side with her eyes closed. He quickly ran down the bleachers, shoving past students and pushing them away as he ran to her and fell to his knees beside her on the grass. "What did you do!? What happened!?" he shrieks out, holding back his tears as he shook Harry harshly by his collar.
"I'm sorry! I couldn't-I'm sorry!" the Gryffindor cries out, the Slytherin throwing him away as he lands back, watching the platinum blonde-haired boy cry for his love to wake up.
"(y/n)...? Please... wake up... Princess wake up... This isn't funny..." he joked, his lips quivering as he cried, hiding his face when he gently held her cheeks with shaky hands. "(y/n), I'm begging you..." he held her in his lap, leaning over her while the crowd behind him quietened down in confusion. "Please... please wake up..." he begged over and over again, the professors circling around the boy to cover him from prying eyes as Hermione and Ron ran to Harry to comfort the crying boy.
"(y/n)...?" Hermione looks over, seeing her friend unmoving and her eyes well up with tears. "No... she can't be..." she crawls over to her, holding her hand with such fragility that she might break in her hands.
"Malfoy..." Snape presses, placing a hand on the boy's shoulder but he shrugs it away. Draco was so heartbroken, whispering pleas for (y/n) to come back to him as he cradled her head in his lap. "We need to take her-"
"-you're not taking her anywhere!" Draco yells back, tightening his hold on (y/n). He couldn't care less that everyone finally knew about his relationship with her, he just wanted her to be ok. The boy quickly wiped his stray tears away, hiding his vulnerability to put on a facade for the crowd. He had to be strong. That's what the Malfoys were. They weren't weak, they weren't scared. They showed everyone that they were the superior ones as purebloods, they were the ones to be feared. He wouldn't show anyone how broken he was. He had to be strong. Strong for (y/n). Even if it killed him.
Draco ignored everyone as he picked up (y/n) in his arms, hiding her face against his shoulder as he walked away. People watched him in confusion as the professors escorted him back to the castle, Fudge declaring Harry the winner of the Tri-Wizard competition and Cedric coming in second place to gain their attention again. They turned to cheer for the students, making Draco sick to his stomach at how oblivious they all were.
"Draco...?" the boy gasps and looks down to see the girl in his arms whimpering in pain as she opened her eyes and he stops, Snape and McGonagall quickly glancing at each other in shock.
"You're ok!" Draco cries out, leaning his forehead against (y/n)'s knowing she was awake again. "I thought I lost you..." he watches as the cracks on her arms fade away along with the rest on her body, making her look like a normal girl again as her canines disappear and the ink on her skin dries off.
"He's back... Voldemorts back...He's alive..." the professors look at each other warily. "Moody is Crouch junior... Harry's in trouble."
"We need to tell Albus!" McGonagall gasps out.
"I'll take her to the castle." Draco nods, letting the professors rush off to warn the headmaster as he walks inside the castle and back to his bedroom with (y/n). The couple was quiet this entire time, the boy setting down the girl gently on his bed before he burst into tears. "I thought I lost you... when you just laid there-when you didn't wake up-I-" the Slytherin didn't know what to do with the tears that ran down his face, didn't know what to do with the pain in his chest or the feeling of a dam exploding inside him. It felt like everything he had shoved down regarding emotions just rushed out through his tears, falling to the floor in front of his girl's legs as he rest his head in her lap.
(y/n) was the only person Draco could feel vulnerable with, to let himself feel like himself and feel every single emotion with no judgement.
"I'm sorry Draco..." (y/n) curled down over him, running her fingers through his hair as she cried herself when he clung to her desperately. She was in so much pain, physically and mentally and she just wanted it to go away, wanted Draco's pain to go away. "I'm sorry..." she didn't mean to hurt him like this, hating how he cried for her and he quickly looks up at her to hold her cheeks as she wiped his tears away.
"Don't apologise, please. You didn't do anything wrong. I'm just so glad that you came back to me... I don't know what I'd do..." he trails off, standing up quickly to pull her into a tight hug. He held her tightly, making sure that this wasn't a dream and that she was here with him right now. That he didn't lose her. He never wanted to ever lose her, to have her laying in his arms like that again. Draco swore to himself that he would always protect (y/n). He was done letting her do things on her own, done letting her take the hits and sacrifice herself to save others. He would be by her side in whatever fight she finds herself in and help her.
Because who would he become if he doesn't save the one that held his heart in her hands?
