(y/n) - your name

"So who are you going with Ginny?" (y/n) asks as her, Ginny and Hermione walked past multiple dress stores for the girls to look for their gowns. It was after school hours and they had permission by the professors to leave the castle to go shopping since the ball was tomorrow night.
"Neville actually asked me." the girl grins happily at her older friends.
"Oh, he's an absolute gentleman! You're going to have a wonderful night!" the Hufflepuff says as she ruffles the young Weasleys hair.
"Are you going?" she asks and the older girl freezes but shakes her head.
"I'm not. I think it's pointless." (y/n) shugs, Hermione and Ginny looking at each other with frowns.
"(y/n) I'm sorry. If I had known, we could've gone together like our pact if no one asked us-"
"-Hermione, I said no to all the boys that asked me. I genuinely don't want to go. I'm ok." she lies and the other girls all nod hesitantly, believing her. "Today is my treat! Let me spoil you both and buy you your gowns!"
"(y/n) you don't have to." Ginny says.
"I need you both to look spectacular! So no matter how expensive, go wild girls!" (y/n) grins happily at them, their eyes lighting up and nodding as they walk into a large boutique. "If you want, we can buy multiple! Go look for your dream dress!" the girls squeal happily and run off, the Hufflepuff smiling faintly as she just walks around to look at the dresses. The smile soon wore off, a sad one replacing her lips and she sighs heavily but she plasters on a happy one again when her friends drag her over to the changerooms for them to try on the dresses they found.
"So (y/n), who are the secret flowers from? Has your secret admirer revealed himself yet?" Hermione says from inside the changeroom as she tried on the next dress, (y/n) sitting on a bench and waiting for her while Ginny changed in the room next to the older Gryffindor.
"Not yet. I've been getting flowers every day since McGonagall announced the Yule ball. They're beautiful though. Each day were different flowers like roses, peonies, violets, camellias or orchids."
"They're professing their love for you through those flowers!" Ginny exclaims, slamming the door open with excitement. "Each flower you received has similar definitions around love, romance or beauty!" (y/n) brushes off the young girls previous words, standing up with a bright smile and seeing her in a beautiful pastel green and pink dress.
"You look like so beautiful Ginny!" she goes up to her, squishing her cheeks happily.
"Really? I actually love the dress. It has this beautiful satin shawl as well. It's so detailed!" the young Weasley beams happily, showing it off.
"Then we're buying it!" the girl jumps happily, dashing off back into the changeroom to switch into her original clothes. "Hermione, are you ok?" (y/n) asks, the door unlocking to reveal her friend in a beautiful pink gown made of floaty material of variations of pink. "Holy fucking shit you're gorgeous in that dress!" the girl blushes at her friend's words, spinning around.
"Really?"
"Yes! Of course! That's the one we need to get! Do you like it though?"
"I do, I love it! I really do!" Hermione beams happily, rushing back into the changerooms to switch into her original clothes.
"Both of yous change and come back out so I can buy for you ok. If there are any other dresses you would like, add that to the pile!"
"Ok!" Hermione and Ginny yell out, (y/n) walking off to aimlessly stroll through the boutique.
She completely missed a familiar platinum blonde-haired boy who had walked down from the upstairs section for men, his eyes catching her immediately amongst the dresses. Draco stopped by the steps, watching (y/n) as she roamed by the dresses until she stopped at a certain dress that had caught her eye. She thought it was absolutely beautiful, touching the soft fabric with want but she stepped back away from it with a sad smile. He frowned when she didn't by herself a dress, going to pay for her friends instead before they left the shop completely.
Draco rushed down to the dress, taking it out from the rack. It was the last of its kind and he immediately went to buy it for (y/n).
~~~~~~~~
The three girls giggled and chatted together with multiple shopping bags in hand as they walked through the castle hallways, sporting off the new items they bought from high-end boutiques which made a lot of girls jealous. (y/n) would happily spoil her friends. They talked about how they were going to get ready tomorrow since tomorrow had been scheduled free of classes for everyone to get ready for the ball. The girls walked to the dungeon's corridor first, (y/n) sneaking her friends into the Hufflepuff common room and up to her dorm room to have a sleepover together.
"(y/n)," the girl looked up as her prefect opened the door after knocking on it. "there's a gift for you outside." Her, Ginny and Hermione rush down to the door and opening it to see another vase filled with flowers sitting on the floor in front of them.
"You got another one!" Hermione grins as her friend picks it up, smiling at the little note that always had something sweet to say about her.
"'I love the way your smile lights up any room, like the stars shining bright to illuminate the night sky. Your secret admirer'."
"That is the most romantic thing I've ever seen!" Ginny awes as she follows her friends back up to the dorm, watching the Hufflepuff set down the vase with the others around her bed. As soon as the vast hits the ground, the flowers suddenly started twinkling, growing brighter in colour before the petals suddenly broke free from the stem to rise up into the air. The petals flew around (y/n) before they suddenly formed words, making her eyes widen in shock.
'Puff, will you go to the Yule Ball with me?'
"(y/n)! Someone asked you out! SOMEONE ASKED YOU OUT TO THE BALL!" Hermione shakes her friend happily by her shoulders as she was just trying to process the words, a smile growing on her face as she teared up.
"Someone... actually asked me..."
"You have to pick yes!" Ginny exclaims, the girls watching the petals form the two options. (y/n) remembered the first word, her cheeks flaring red knowing exactly who it was since he was the only one that calls her Puff.
"Yes, yes I will go to the ball with you Draco." she whispers, the petals flying together and circling around her bed to reveal a green gift box before it flies out of the common room back to their maker.
"What is it?" Hermione asks, her friend pulling on the silk green ribbon and lifting the box up to reveal the dress (y/n) was looking at before in the boutique, a sweet smile growing on her face at the beautiful gesture from a certain Slytherin.
Meanwhile, in the Slytherin room, the petals flew to Draco as he sat on the couch with his friends. He quickly stood up, heart racing at the answer that would show up in front of him. The petals danced around him before forming the word that he had been hoping he would see.
"She said yes!" he breathes out in shock, his friends cheering for him. "She actually said yes..."
~~~~~~~~
The cold night air brought in gentle snowflakes that flew around the warmly lit Hogwarts castle, students all dressed up elegantly in their robes milling about and waiting for the ball to start. Music drifted through the air, mingling with the excited gossip and chatter as the students waited in front of the Great Hall. The closed doors were decorated with Christmas wreaths and tinsel, as well as the rest of the castle walls with Christmas trees decorating every corner.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Hermione whispers as she peers over the ledge, (y/n) standing with her as she saw Draco nervously pulling at his cuffs at the bottom of the stairs.
"No, but I want to prove everyone wrong because you are a stunning girl and you need to be shown off as one." she says and her Gryffindor friend smiles at her happily, holding her hand. "Now, head up high and let the show begin." the girls grin at each other before stepping out from the corner, walking towards the steps where everyone looked up at them in confusion since the both of them were wearing simple black gowns with their hair down.
But that soon quickly changed when Hermione and (y/n) raise their hands, looking at each other with mischievous grins and snapping their fingers at the same time.
Everyone watched in awe, gasping as both girls dresses suddenly glowed red with sparkles and light shimmering from the bottom of their feet. The red light circled around them like bright ripples as their gowns changed into different ones, the magic rising up their body to envelop them into their stunning gowns. The magic went up to the very end of their hair, styling it and the makeup to emphasise their beautiful features.
Hermione wore her stunning lonk pink gown, her curls twisted up into an elegant knot at the back of her head. (y/n) wore a long dark green tulle dress with sequins, lace and satin, her hair curled and pined in a half updo as her curtain fringe framed her face. The red magic that spun around them gathered above their heads, bursting into light fireworks as sparkles shone down around them and attached themselves to their dress and their hair to make them shine.
Everyone burst into applause and cheered for the girls, (y/n) looking at Hermione who smiled at her. "Thank you, for everything (y/n)." she hugs her tightly before walking down to Krum who waited at the bottom of the steps. The Hufflepuff turned to find Draco looking up at her with wide eyes and she blushed, waving to him.
"She's absolutely stunning..." Draco whispered out, his friends snickering at how he was caught in a trance at the girl that held his heart. He was held up by Blaise and Marcus since he had stumbled back from her beauty, a hand over his heart and hearts in his eyes watching his Puff descend the stairs. They could tell how in love he was with her, a sweet smile on his face and the way he looked at her with adoration like she was his entire world. He had fallen for her and he had fallen hard.
"Hi..." (y/n) whispers shyly, standing before Draco whose cheeks were flushed along with the tips of his ears. He wore black velvet dress robes with a high collar, his soft platinum blonde hair swept to the side just as she liked, his fingers only adorned by the single ring she bought him.
"Hi..." the Slytherin stumbles forward into the Hufflepuff as his friends gently shove him to her, them winking and heading into the Great Hall to leave them together. He stares down at her softly, stepping back to take her in and falling even further at the fact that she wore green along with the necklace he got her for her birthday. "You're beautiful, absolutely stunning..." he whispers in awe, the girl flushing at his compliment.
"And you're handsome, absolutely gorgeous." (y/n) says, smiling seeing Draco blush brightly in front of her as she leans up to gently brush a loose strand back, him taking hold of that hand to lift it up to his lips and kiss the back of it.
"Shall we princess?" he says, holding out his arm for her and she loops her arm with his, chuckling at the way she blushed from the pet name. They walked into the Great Hall, Harry and Ron along with the other students absolutely gobsmacked by the scene.
"Malfoy asked (y/n) to the ball!?"
