"How can you two be having so much trouble finding someone to take to the ball? Harry, you fought a dragon, so many girls are just waiting for you to ask them." (y/n) mumbles out as she sat on the beach of the Black Lake, leaning her back against Hermione's legs as she set a book on top of her head to read.
"I find that very hard to believe. Why do you all travel in packs? We can't even ask a single girl out without being glared at." Ron scoffs.
"We don't do that-well I don't." the Hufflepuff corrects but the boys raise a brow at her.
"You and Hermione go everywhere together!" Harry exclaims.
"So? That's just us two and not a 'pack'." she replies back, turning to her side to lean her head against Hermione's legs, the girl patting her head before grabbing her book in her hands to read again. Just then, Krum walks by doing some arm exercises, a group of giggling girls following behind him. "Jesus fucking christ..." (y/n) rolls her eyes at the view but they go wide when she catches Krum smirking at Hermione. She sits up straight as the girl clears her throat, her friend shaking her head despite the oblivious boys. "You-" Hermione quickly grabs her arm and drags her away from the boys as they call out to their friends.
"Don't say it-"
"-you and Krum! I knew it!" the Gryffindor sighs out, closing her book but she nods lightly as the girls head back inside the castle. "Oh my fucking god! Hell yeah! I'm so happy for you Hermione!" (y/n) cheers but Hermione begs her to quieten down. "Did he ask you?"
"Yes he did... and I said yes-"
"-fuck yeah!" (y/n) fist pumps the air as she jumps up into the yeah. "My girl-" she hisses out in pain as she lands back on her feet with a resounding crack, stumbling to the floor but Hermione quickly catches her.
"(y/n)!" she gasps out in worry. "What happened!? Are you ok!?" she asks, looking at her leg that she was leaning off from. The Hufflepuff panicked, leaning down to feel her leg through her stocking. She traced the crack and the colour from her face drains when she felt that they had gotten bigger, touching her heel to feel that a chip had broken off her.
"I'm ok, I just sprained it-"
"-(y/n)! Oh my god! Are you ok!?" Ginny came running up to her, holding her up as Hermione was on her other side.
"I-"
"-let's get her back to her common room!" Hermione says, the girls helping (y/n) back while passing worried looks from the other students. As they went down to the dungeon's corridor, they passed Draco and his crew and the smile on his face instantly fell seeing his Puff being carried back to her common room by her friends. The girls stopped before the door, seeing a random vase of flowers blocking their way. "Who's that for?" Ginny went over to check the flowers, finding a tag to read.
"'To (y/n), from your secret admirer' Oh my god (y/n)! Someone likes you!" Ginny squeals out in excitement but remembers that her friend was in pain. "Right." she quickly knocks on the barrels, it opening from the inside by Cedric.
"Who-(y/n)! What happened!?" he gasps, rushing forward to help her up.
"I sprained my leg, it's nothing. I just need to get to my bed and rest." he nods and picks her up, Ginny passing the flustered girl her flowers as the older Hufflepuff takes her friend away to her dorm.

(y/n) sighs out anxiously as she looks at the cracks on her limb, it fissuring bigger than it was before. She checked her heel to see a piece of her had broken off, her stomach instantly feeling sick and she covered her mouth.
She really wasn't human...
She breathes out, swallowing thickly as she glanced at the boiling metal in the kitchen stove that had turned to liquid. She looked around in paranoia once more, checking that the kitchen was empty as she held the counter, using her powers to hover over to the table and bring over the boiling pot to let it cool down as much as she could before filling up a syringe of the liquid. She had no idea how she knew to fix her cracking problem, something from the deep recesses of her brain letting her know how and that it was going to hurt like a bitch.
She sat on the bench, chomping down on a wooden rolling pin to muffle her screams as she poured the metal into her cracks. She lets out a muffled ear-shattering scream, crying out from the agony as she filled up the cracks. She dropped the syringe on the table quickly, sobbing as she held her leg. She wailed out, breathing heavily as she watched the metal cool to fill up the fissures, turning her leg over to fix her heel.
She picks up the syringe with shaking hands, crying heavily as she poured the rest of the metal will up the hole. She screams out against the wooden rolling pin, it cracking between her jaws and crumbling to the floor. She held back the painful screams, sobbing heavily against the table. Her vision had dark spots flying around as she tried to calm her breathing, wiping her tears away shakily before waving her hands over the items to send them back from where they came from in their original forms.
The metal in her skin cooled down drastically and she carefully stood up, slowly putting weight on her damaged foot. It didn't hurt as much as before and it didn't break any further, as if it was back to normal and she sighs out as she snaps her fingers to wear stockings and her shoes beneath her uniform. She hesitantly takes a step, limping from the slight ache but it would go away soon. (y/n) grabbed her books and her belongings, turning invisible to fly out of the kitchen and head to the Great Hall where her next class for the study break was in.
She hides in a dark corridor, landing on her feet and turning visible before walking towards the room. "(y/n)!" as soon as she steps into the room, Ron and Harry wave her over but not without earning a glare from Snape before he walked over to her. He eyes her limp, his lips pursed.
"Granger has in formed me of your condition. Admirable of you still attend class even if you were a few minutes late (l/n). I suspect the work I assigned is already completed?" she nods, taking out a pile of papers and reports in a binder she had completed months in advance and passing it to the ebony-haired professor who always looked impressed. "You may leave or you may stay. You have finished this year's work so you are free from my class."
"I'll stay. It's close enough instead of my common room..."
"I can escort you."
"It's ok sir. I'll just rest here." Snape nods, hesitantly walking away as (y/n) slowly walked to where the golden trio was, sitting between Harry and Ron who moved to give her space.
"Hermione told us what happened. Are you ok?" Harry whispers.
"It's a sprain, I'm ok-"
"-I distinctively heard a crack (y/n)! It's not nothing!" Hermione exclaims.
"I got Madam Pomfrey to patch me up a couple days ago. I promise you I'm ok." she says, trying to get her friends to believe her and they nod hesitantly.
What she didn't know was a certain Slytherin hearing into the conversation with worry. When Draco saw (y/n) being carried by her friends to her common room, he became anxious and worried. He had paced his common room and tried to figure out how badly the injury was since she never came to see him, his friends trying to calm him down that she would be ok. He didn't believe them until he would see her in person. He was the only one who knew how nad her injuries would get, especially if they were the result of her using her powers.
(y/n) looked over at Draco who frowned, giving him a smile but his frown deepened noticing how her eyes were red. "She's been crying..." he whispers, catching his friend's attention.
"What?" Blaise asks, looking over at the girl who was talking to her friends about the boys being the only ones to not have a date to the ball.
"Her eyes are red like she had just been crying..." Draco mumbles out, his heart aching and wondering why she didn't go to him if she was sad or in pain.
"I'm sure she will tell you Malfoy. For now, we gotta finish this work before Snape kills us." Theo says.
"Oi Hermione, (y/n), you're both girls." Ron says and (y/n) face palms at the sentence.
"Oh well spotted." Hermione scoffs, working on her sheet.
"Come with both of us-" Ron groans in pain when Snape hits the back of his head with a book, (y/n) slapping a hand to her mouth to silence her laughter when Harry gets hit too. Draco would be amused too by the scene but he was too worried about his Puff.
"Come on. It's one thing for a bloke to show up alone. For a girl it's just sad." (y/n) frowns immediately at the sentence, knowing full well that no one had asked her but her face goes blank soon after. The boys knew they fucked up as she narrowed her red eyes at them.
"I'm not going, even though I would love to see you both fucking humiliated, and Hermione actually got asked, you bastards!" She sneered at them, both girls slamming their hands on the table and standing up, grabbing their stuff.
" And I said yes!" Hermione snaps at them both, her going to Snape to hand her work in.
"They're lying right?" Ron asks and he yelps out in pain as (y/n) smacks the back of his head, her walking away with Hermione.
