(y/n) - your name
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"(y/n)... are you here?" the girl quickly cast an invisibility dome around her, holding her breath as she turned to see Draco standing at the top of the astrology tower stairs. He had a frown on his face when he didn't see anything, stepping towards the bench but stopped. "(y/n) please..." he begs, needing to see her after days of worrying. He had a feeling she might be up here but he wasn't sure if she used her powers.
He sighs as he sat down on the bench, right next to (y/n) as she sat huddled with her knees to her chest and multiple papers scattered around her a like mess of colours and images. Colours and images that she couldn't get out of her head plagued her mind every night. Those damn images and colours that gave her nightmares, hearing the pained screams of people she didn't know but sounded familiar.
"(y/n) please... I miss you..." Draco runs his hands down his face. "I'm sorry, whatever I did I'm sorry..." the girl frowns hearing Draco's words, desperate and sad. She couldn't say anything, didn't know what to say as she watched him leave the astrology tower that she couldn't even hide in anymore. She couldn't stay in the dorm, her housemates asking her questions and bothering her, just getting up all in her busy like the nosy shits they were. She just couldn't stay there anymore or she was worried about hurting them when she got mad.
(y/n) sighs as she leans her head against the bench, dropping her magic as she looked at the mess of papers around her. She closed her eyes in exhaustion but once more she was bombarded with the images of people fighting large abnormal creatures on a dark wasteland, multiple orange portals opening up in the vast open-air as an army walked through. The images flashed again, purple skin, red metal, blue suit, green skin, black suit, red magic, silver metal, lightning and green eyes.
Those bright and familiar green eyes that were filled with tears, those green eyes that looked so familiar to her that it made her heart hurt.
(y/n) snaps her eyes open, not wanting to see those images again and she wrings her fingers through her hair. She quickly got up and waved her hands, the pages coming to her palm in a simple stack and she turns invisible before flying out of the astronomy tower to Blake Lake. She settled down against a tree, waving off her powers to just watch the water.
She didn't realise a certain boy walking towards the lake to avoid the judgmental and hurtful stares. "(y/n)?" she turns and sees Harry, cursing as she waved her hand to fly away but he stops her and grabs her hand before she disappeared. "Wait! Please don't go." the girl sighs and makes herself visible, looking at the boy as he drops his grip. "Can we talk?"
"Yeah... yeah ok." the kids went to sit against the tree, looking out at the lake. "Are you ok? I heard what happened..." Harry rolls his eyes, an angry scowl on his face.
"Of course, the whole school obviously knows."
"I'm not mad Harry, I'm scared for you..." he looks at (y/n) in surprise, seeing her frown with worry in her eyes. She was the first person to actually talk to him without hatred, to actually think that maybe he didn't do this in person, that he never put his name in the goblet on purpose. "I just don't understand how your name was in the goblet. I know you didn't do it but I don't want you to get hurt. Is there any way you can get out of the competition?" Harry shakes his head sadly. "Shit..."
"I told Sirius, about everything that happened." the Gryffindor says, telling (y/n) everything that he knew and everything that has happened while she was gone. Including Ron not talking to him and being shunned by the entire school and Sirius talking to him through the fireplace. "Where have you been? The group has been worried."
"I just... I just needed some time away..." Harry watched as (y/n) brought her knees to her chest, a stack of papers next to her. "Harry, don't worry it's nothing-"
"-it's not nothing (y/n). Something happened and you haven't left your common room in days. Did Malfoy say something, did he hurt you-"
"-it wasn't him." she cuts off the Gryffindor who looked at her in confusion. "It was me... it's all me..." Harry didn't know what to say, didn't know how to comfort his friend.
"Look, I know you won't tell me what happened, but you know you can talk to me, to Hermione and Ron."
"I know-"
"-you can talk to Malfoy." (y/n) looks at Harry who looked blankly at the lake. "As much as I hate the git, he cares about you. You can talk to him, whatever happened between you two. He's been more annoying and miserable without you." the Hufflepuff takes in her friend's words, shocked at how bad Draco wanted to talk to her.
"I can't-"
"-just... just sit with him at least or let him speak to you?"
"...ok..."
"Good, cause the git it coming this way."
"What!?" (y/n) looks over and sees Draco coming to the lake, Harry rushing off after saying goodbye while the Slytherin ignored him and sat down by the tree with the Hufflepuff. The two sat quietly together for some time, the boy searching his mind for something to say.
"How are you?" he cringed at the question, knowing full well the girl next to him wasn't ok. He had heard her crying most nights he hovered outside her window on his broom.
"Ok...?" (y/n) cringed at her own answer.
"(y/n)... after what happened that night-"
"-I'm fine-"
"-bullshit!" (y/n) looked at Draco in shock, not expecting him to curse. Maybe she had been rubbing off of him for too long. "You can't be fine after what happened that night and you just locked yourself away! Did I do something wrong? Tell me, please! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry-"
"-it's not you Draco! It's me ok! I saw how you looked at me! I know I'm a monster-"
"-you're not a monster! You never were!" the Slytherin grabbed the Hufflepuff's hands, her trying to pull away but he held her tight. "You're not a monster (y/n), not to me."
"Draco you shouldn't-" he holds her face to have her look at him, her frowning at how he was too close to her and that he should just run away to save himself.
"You're not a monster. You are not her, not the boggart. You didn't scare me away (y/n). I was scared for you. I didn't know how to help you when I heard you in pain. And when you locked yourself away, when you were crying and I couldn't help you again..." Draco breathes in, trying to calm the spew of words falling from his lips. "It killed me..."
"I'm sorry... I couldn't bear to see you-"
"-nothing would make me hate you. Nothing would make me see you any less." the boy lets out shakily, leaning his forehead on his Puff's as she closed her eyes and a few tears fell down her cheeks.
"I'm sorry-"
"-stop apologising, you did nothing wrong you git." Draco chuckles lightly, (y/n) smiling before she leans back. He wiped her tears away before sitting back. "So, how old are you anyway? 100 years old? 1000 years old? Who did you have to sacrifice to stay so young?" the Hufflepuff scoffs, crossing her arms as she lets the tension dissipate, the Slytherin chuckling.
"Boy has comebacks! What, took you the last few days to come up with that?" she retorts back with a smile, leaning back against the tree as he did the same. The two of them sat shoulder against shoulder, the girl leaning her head on his shoulder.
"But serious (y/n)... Are you? What happened that night? What's with the papers?" Draco asks, looking down at the stack of papers on the ground next to her. He was the only one (y/n) could truly talk to, he was the only one that knew everything going on with her and she needed help figuring out what she was.
"Remember how I told you I might not be from here...? That night with the goblet, I saw flashes of people, I think... fighting some kind of war. I was there but like blurred out like a dark figure. I saved them all... I think..." she says, picking up the papers and handing them to the platinum blonde-haired boy who sifts through the mess of drawings.
"A war? What kind of war?" he asks, confused but worried.
"I don't know. It all just became faded after that. Trying to remember what I saw." (y/n) says, putting her hands out as she watched her powers streak through her skin like red lightning. It all was so familiar to her...
"Who's this?" Draco frowned, seeing a drawing of a man. Black ebony hair swept back from his pale skin that was stained with tears, bright emerald eyes staring at a dark blob of a figure in his arms like he was cradling them and crying out for them to wake up.
"Someone I used to know... he... it's hard to explain..." the boy looks over at his Puff as she rubbed her chest with a painful expression. "I think he was family..." the Slytherin's chest ached seeing the warm look in the Hufflepuff's eyes, the very same look she gives him and he knew he gave her. He put the picture away, stopping short at one more that was just a mess of red and black, black piercing eyes looking at him from the paper.
"And this...?" the kids looked at the picture of a figure, red all over them and dark wings spanning out from their back. A dark red crown sat on their head, red magic spilling from their hands like a supernova exploding.
They both knew who that was but they couldn't bring themselves to say it.
