(y/n) - your name

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Killing Mudbloods doesn't matter to me anymore. For many months now, my new target... has been the both of you." Tom says, looking at (y/n) too. He complains about how Harry was able to survive Voldemort and destroy him, soon turning to the Hufflepuff girl. "And you, a witch that isn't born in this world, how are you the one holding extraordinary powers!?"

"Why do you care how I escaped or how (y/n) has her powers? Voldemort was after your time."

"Voldemort is my past, present, and future." Tom smirks, writing out his entire name and rearranging the letters to show that he was Lord Voldemort.

"You! You're the Heir of Slytherin! You're Voldemort!" The memory spews out about being known to every wizard, walking over to the Salazar statue to open it and summon the Basilisk.

"Let's match the power of Lord Voldemort, Heir of Salazar Slytherin, against the famous Harry Potter and (y/f/n)!" Suddenly, the stone face's mouth opens and there is a rumbling sound, followed by the sound of slithering. Harry and (y/n) quickly turn around as the Basilisk spills out, uncoiling heavily to the floor.

The Hufflepuff quickly picks up the diary, looking at Tom as he stops the Basilisk. "Kill that thing or I burn you to a crisp." she lights up her other hand as she growls at the memory, a burst of red flames erupting from her other hand and inching it closer to the diary.

"You can't stop me-" Tom screams out in pain as (y/n) didn't waste a second before burning the diary, his body bursting into flames as the notebook turned black and burns in her hands.

"And that's why you just kill the villains during their long monologues..." (y/n) rolls her eyes. "things end quicker..." The papers smoulder and wisp away to just ash, the Basilisk howling loudly with free will now that it wasn't controlled.

"(y/n) watched out!" Harry calls out, the large creature charging after her and she quickly flies up to avoid being eaten, quickly picking up Harry and Ginny to set them far away and hidden away behind a pillar. The Gryffindor peers over and gasps in shock as he sees (y/n) flying around to avoid getting hurt by the Basilisk, her controlling the snake as it wriggles out of her grasp. "(y/n) don't!" he calls out to stop her as she floats right in front of the snake, trying to hold it down in her powers but it breaks free and its tail slams her down the entire chamber. She slams against the wall, Harry yelling for her as the Basilisk slithers towards her. "(y/n) wake up!" Harry screams out, watching with wide eyes as her entire body had those red lightening streaks covering her skin, crawling up to her face with her eyes burning red.

Her power bubbles and grows at her hands as she slowly got up, the glow almost blinding Harry. (y/n) panted heavily from her body burning painfully, snarling up at the Basilisk and looking at it as he hissed at her dangerously. She grew furious, rage burning in her as she remembered Hermione laying frozen in the hospital bed and she snarled at the creature. Her powers build and burned from within her, her fingertips slowly burning and turning black.

Harry suddenly heard light cracking and he panics at the sound thinking something was going to tumble from the ceiling when (y/n) screams out, blasting her powers through the Basilisk. She howls out from the energy being released, slicing through the creature in half and she cries out in pain as she tries to pull back. She was burning through the statue and the wall of the chamber, rubble and debris breaking around her as the wind whipped around her harshly.

"(y/n)! Ginny is waking up!" Harry gasps out and she wails out as she pulls her powers back in, shaking violently for the need to release the pain but she cloaks herself invisible instead. She summons Harry's wand back to the boy, picking up the kids and quickly taking them out of the chamber that had started to break apart with rubble falling from the ceiling to crush everything. (y/n) grits her teeth as she blasts through the rock wall, picking up Ron and taking them back up to the girl's bathroom as the secret tunnels and chambers collapse in itself behind her with a burst of dust.

"(y/n)!?" Ron gasps out as she accidentally drops her powers cloaking her invisible when she dropped the kids in the bathroom safely, falling to her knees as the boys looked at her with worry. She looked like she was cracking, like something was trying to break free from inside her and she quickly flies away before Ron could question her further. She cloaks herself again, racing out onto the Quidditch Pitch and falls to her knees on the grass as she gasped in pain, dropping her powers around her.

"(y/n)!" she looks up with wide eyes to see Draco fly down with his broom, rushing towards her from a distance but she shakes her head.

"Stay away!" she cries out, the streaks in her body bursting with power and she screams out in agony from the sudden surge escaping her body, a blast ripping through the Quidditch towers and travelling across the land. Draco quickly flew up to avoid the blast, screaming out for (y/n) as he saw her fall back on the pitch after the blast dissipated. He ignored the destroyed pitch, flying down to her quickly and jumping off his broom to rush to her side. His hands shook as he saw her laying there still, unmoving and so quiet.

"(y/n)? (y/n) wake up, please! Open your eyes!" he begs her, holding her in his arms as her head rested against his chest. "Please! Just talk to me! What happened!?" he couldn't get her screams and cries out from his head, the pained agony on her face as her powers ripped out from her. She had used too much of it too quickly, never having to fight against something with it. She used her powers for defence but never to attack, she didn't train for that. "(y/n) please!" Draco didn't like how her skin suddenly felt cold, panicking when he noticed the cracks on her skin. They weren't red but they fissured through like the cracks on a stone statue that was sure to break apart. Her skin didn't feel soft, only cold and smooth like marble.

"(y/n) come on!" Draco leans down, trying to hear her heartbeat and he closes his eyes in relief when he hears it faintly. Like a very faint soft padding against her chest. He leans back and saw the cracks slowly start to fade away, the colour coming back to her skin again. "(y/n), come on, open your eyes!" he shakes her lightly and she faintly opens them, turning her head to look at the destroyed pitch before raising her hand. A faint red glow encircles the pitch, the towers slowly lifting up and melding back to each other. Draco purses his lips as he watches (y/n) fix the pitch back to how it was before dropping her hand and passing out in his arms.

Draco moves to pick up his broom, gently holding (y/n) up and moving them both on the broom securely before slowly flying up to the astronomy tower so no one will catch them out in the open field. He carefully takes them both off the broom once they landed, dropping her on the floor in front of the bench gently. Draco gets off his broom and sets it down next to him, moving to sit next to (y/n) before pulling her against her chest and wrapping her in her cloak to try and keep her warm through the night.

~~~~~~~~
"(y/n)... wake up... please..." the girl groans softly, her whole body aching as she struggled to move. She lifts her head and looks up to see Draco looking at her with relief that she was awake.
"Everything hurts..." she mumbles out, blinking against the sun that was blinding her and she realises that they were in the astronomy tower. "Wait, the Basilisk! Harry, Ginny and Ron-" she stops, memories flashing in her head and she remembers what happened in the chamber and out on the pitch.
"(y/n), what happened? You broke the Quidditch pitch. You've never done that before! And you were screaming in pain." Draco asks, concerned for her as he helps her sit back up straight. He didn't know what to say about the cracks on her skin he saw last night, deciding to not ask her that yet since she looked very distraught at the moment.
"I..." she furrows her brows, looking at her hands. "I killed the Basilisk... Ron knows that I have powers... everything hurts..." (y/n) whimpers, tears brimming her eyes and Draco pulls her into a hug.
"You killed the thing that was petrifying all those mudbloods...?" he asks, shocked and worried about any physical injuries she might be sustaining right now after her battle. "Are you wounded anywhere? Did it hurt you anywhere?" she shakes her head no.
"Blasted it in half with my powers..."
"You... what?"
"Just a beam of energy blasting out. I destroyed the chambers, it crumbled in itself because I couldn't control my powers. It was too much... I had to save Ron, Harry and Ginny but Ron saw me like how you saw me on the pitch before I exploded."
"Your red eyes and glowing streaks... your powers..."
"He knows now..."
"Then Potter would know by now too if that Weasley hasn't already told him." Draco hisses, keeping a note to threaten the two to make sure they keep (y/n)'s secret or he would curse them out of Hogwarts.
"I lost control Draco... it just ripped through me, I couldn't stop it..." he holds her tight, letting her feel his hug and she sighs in relief that she had feeling back. "I'm sorry..." she whispers, remembering how she could've hurt him if he didn't manage to avoid the blast.
"You have nothing to be sorry about (y/n)." Draco mutters out, letting her rest against his shoulder. "Everything is ok now. You can rest. We will deal with Ron and Harry later."
"Thank you... you were there... I needed someone..." the Hufflepuff girl mumbles out tiredly, yawning and the Slytherin boy pulls her closer to let her sleep against him for a little longer until she was better again. Draco doesn't say anything, taking off his Quidditch cloak and draping around (y/n).
