"Lockhart may be useless, but he's going to try and get into the Chamber. At least we can tell him what we know!" Harry says as the kids rush into the Professor's classroom and up the steps to barge into his office. "Professor, we have some information for you!" the kids look around with furrowed brows when they see everything inside being packed or already packed. "Are you going somewhere?" Harry judges harshly, the professor making a failed excuse.
"What about my sister?!" Ron snaps at the professor with rage.
"You're running away! You're not anything you say in your so-called books! A fake! A coward hiding behind words! You have no skills, no talents and even the spells you cast are always wrong!" (y/n) yells out, stalking towards the professor as he backs against his table in fear of the little girl. "Let's go, he's a pathetic excuse of a wizard. He's no use to use." she hisses out, the kids walking out of the office. "I'll make sure to tell the professors everything about you and have your pathetic self fired!" the Hufflepuff growls, looking back at Lockhart as her eyes glowed red and the items in the office suddenly burst out from the trunks. The office stood destroyed with pages ripped, glass shattered and objects torn to shreds.
(y/n) slams the door shut violently, cracks fissuring up through the tower from the doorknob she held. The tower suddenly started crumbling as she walked down the steps one by one, ignoring the frantic screams and panicked yells for help as the tower came down behind her. Harry looked at the Hufflepuff with slight fear as she walked past him, leaving the classroom to catch up with Ron who was asking his friends to hurry up.
"Let's go!" he urges them, the kids running down the hallways to the abandoned bathroom that Moaning Myrtle permanently lived in. They rushed into the bathroom, gasping for air when Moaning Myrtle turns around to ask who was there.
"Oh! Hello, Harry! Ron. What do you want?"
"To ask you how you died." Harry asks and the ghost seemed flattered that someone was giving her attention.
"Oh! It was dreadful. It happened right here in this very cubicle. I'd hidden because Olive Hornby was teasing me about my glasses. I was crying, and then I heard somebody come in."
"Who was it Myrtle?" Harry questions.
"I don't know. I was distraught!" the ghost starts hovering down towards Harry from her cubicle as she continued speaking. "But they said something funny, a kind of made-up language. And I realized it was a boy speaking, so I unlocked the door to tell him to go away and... I died."
"Just like that? How?"
"I just remember seeing a pair of great big yellow eyes... over there, by that sink." The ghost floats away and Harry inspects the sink, turning the tap but nothing comes out and that's when he notices a sigil on the side of the metal.
"This is it! I think this is the entrance to the chamber of Secrets!" Harry exclaims as he feels the snake sigil, showing it to Ron and (y/n).
"Say something! Harry, say something in Parseltongue!" Ron begs desperately and Harry focuses, the words coming to his mouth before speaking in the snake language. There was an unlocking sound before loud rumbling, the top of the sink lifting up as each sink spread out open. The kids walked back, watching with fear as they held their wands up ready to fight whatever might come through. The sink with the sigil sunk down into the ground to reveal a dark pitfall behind it, the kids leaning over it with concern to see the neverending darkness.
"Lumos Solem!" (y/n) casts a spell, a beam of light pouring through the darkness to reveal that it was a slide and not just a dangerous fall to death. "Well, who's going first...?" she mutters out, the boys leaning over with her. Harry looks at her and she nods to Ron, him leaning back with his friend to turn him around so he doesn't see what happens next.
"Harry, what are you doing?" (y/n) jumps up and hovers in the air, diving down the tunnel as she lit up the dark walls with her red glow. She zooms through and out into an opening with the floor covered in bones.
"All clear guys..." she says through the tunnel as she settles down on her feet, hoping her voice echoes back up.
"(y/n)!? She went down already!?"
"We're coming (y/n)!" Harry and Ron say, the girl hearing them scream out as they slide down through the tunnel and out onto the floor next to her before they scramble back up on their feet quickly. "Now remember, any sign of movement, close your eyes straight away." Harry says and the kids nod in agreement. He leads the way down the tunnel, crunching on tiny skeletons that the ground was littered with.
Ron squints and sees something huge and curved lying ahead on the ground. When he speaks, his voice is hollow with dread. "What's this?"
"Snakeskin..." (y/n) gulps with fear seeing how big the snake must be. The kids look at each other in fear as the ground suddenly shook around them, and debris dust floats around them before they lept away from falling rubble. (y/n) quickly jumped with Harry, spreading out her powers to protect the boys as rock and large boulders fell down from the ground until it all became quiet. Harry and (y/n) sat up, squinting through the settling dust to see a solid wall of broken rock sealing the tunnel between them and Ron.
"Harry! (y/n)!" Ron coughs out, yelling out for his friends.
"Ron! Ron, are you ok!?" Harry yells back.
"I'm fine! But what do I do!?
"Wait here and try and shift some of this rock so we can get back through! (y/n) and I will go on and find Ginny!"
"Stay safe Ron!" (y/n) calls out, stumbling back with Harry.
"You too (y/n)!" he yells back. Harry and (y/n) turn around to see a towering stone wall and a door carved with seven serpents on it, the boy unlocking the door with Parseltongue. The snakes on the door retreat back with each lock coming undone one by one, the giant door swinging open for the kids to walk inside the tunnel. (y/n) snaps her fingers and cloaks her and Harry invisible, holding up a shield around the boy as he climbed down the ladder at the end of the tunnel and she floats down with her powers.
A vast chamber stretches ahead of the kids with rows of stone serpent heads following along the path. The serpents rest in pools of black water, an enormous statue of Salazar Slytherin up ahead at the end of the chamber. Several feet in front of the statue, Ginny Weasley lies motionless and Harry dashes towards her with (y/n) flying after him.
"Ginny!" he takes her into his arms, her head lolls to one side with her cheeks as white as marble. "Ginny, please don't be dead. Wake up. Wake up! Please, wake up!" A pale hand clutches Tom Riddle's diary to her chest.
"She won't wake." Harry and (y/n) turn around, the Gryffindor's brows furrowed in confusion when he sees Tom Riddle standing nearby and the Hufflepuffs brows furrowed at how this person was able to see through her cloaking powers. She drops the cloaking since it was useless, looking at Tom who was strangely blurred around the edges as if she was looking at him through a misted window.
"What do you mean, 'she won't wake?' She's not...?" Harry asks as Tom walks up to the kids.
"She's still alive, but only just."
"Are you a ghost?"
"A memory, preserved in a diary for fifty years." (y/n) stayed quiet as she watched the interaction between the boys, Tom looking over at her to see her hovering protectively over Harry from behind him with her glowing eyes. Harry asks Tom to help him, warning him about a Basilisk being in the tunnel.
(y/n) gasps when she saw this memory suddenly taking hold of Harry's wand before she could, snapping the wood in two before the kids do anything to stop him. "It won't come until it's called. You see, as poor Ginny grows weaker, I grow stronger." Harry looks down at the girl in shock as he slowly stood up. "Yes Harry, it was Ginny Weasley who opened the chamber of Secrets."
"No. She couldn't. She wouldn't!" he exclaims at the memory that circled around him.
He explained how it was Ginny who set the basilisk on the Mudbloods and Filch'scat and wrote the threatening messages on the walls because he was controlling her in a sort of trance. "Still, the power of the diary began to scare her. And she tried to dispose of it in the girl's bathroom. And then, who should find it, but you? The very person I was most anxious to meet."
Harry glared at the memory, growing angrier. "But, why did you want to meet me!?"
"I knew I had to talk to you, meet you if I could. So I decided to show you my capture of that brainless oaf, Hagrid, to gain your trust."
"Hagrid's my friend! And you framed him, didn't you!?"
"It was my word against Hagrid's. Only Dumbledore seemed to think he was innocent." Riddle goes on about how he knew it wouldn't be safe to open the Chamber again while he was still at school, since Dumbledore kept a close eye on him. So he decided to leave behind a diary preserving his sixteen-year-old self in its pages to one day lead another to finish Salazar Slytherin's work.
"Well, you haven't finished it this time. In a few hours, the Mandrake Draught will be ready, and everyone who was Petrified will be all right again." Harry smirks.
