"What's wrong miss?" (y/n) asks McGonagall as the professor leads all three children back into the castle and towards the hospital wing, a bad sinking feeling settling in the Hufflepuffs stomach. "Where's Hermione?" she asks, realising that the girl was missing from the infamous golden trio.
"I warn you, this could be a wee bit of a shock."
"What do you mean-" (y/n)'s words fade off as the colour drains from her face, seeing her dear friends frozen still and petrified on the hospital bed. "Hermione...?" she walks up to her carefully, lips quivering to see her in this terrible frozen state.
"She was found near the Library, along with this." McGonagall says, holding up a handheld mirror. "Does it mean anything to any of you?"
"No." all three kids shake their heads, the adults sighing before walking away to let the kids be with their friend for some time.
"Why...?" (y/n) whispers, holding Hermione's outstretched hand gently. "She's so cold..." Harry pulls her away from Hermione, seeing how she was growing furious. "Who did this? Who could do such a thing!?" she growls out, eyes brimming with tears again as Harry tries to calm her down away from Ron. "I'm going to kill whoever did this to her!" she hisses out, her powers bursting into flames around her hands and Harry quickly holds them in his to snap her out of her anger-induced power burst.
"I know you're angry but you need to pull back on your powers (y/n)." he whispers, holding her hands in front of her face and she gasps, shaking off the flames.
"How did you not get hurt!?" she snatches her hands away from Harry who takes his gloves off. "It didn't harm me." he says, revealing that she hadn't hurt him like she feared. "I know you're furious, we all are and I promise you we're going to find whoever did this and stop them. We're going to bring Hermione back."

"I can't believe this cloak manages to actually make us invisible, I wonder where your dad got it from..." (y/n) whispers as she, Harry and Ron walked out of the castle quietly under the invisibility cloak.
Curfews and rules were dropped after Hermione's attack, students being forced to return to their common rooms at 6 and classes were to be led in groups by a professor to the classrooms. No one was allowed to roam around without adult guidance. McGonagall even warned that the school might be closed which worried (y/n) since she didn't want to go back to living alone forever. Something had to be done and the boys felt the exact same way. Harry sent a letter to (y/n) by her owl Loki, asking her to meet up with them on the forbidden third floor so he could pick her up and have her join him and Ron beneath the cloak to go to Hagrid's hut.
The kids raced across the field to his front door, knocking on it when the door swung open to reveal Hagrid holding a crossbow in their faces. "What's that for!?" Harry and (y/n) gasp out as the kids pull the cloak off to reveal themself to the giant
"Oh, nothing. I was expecting, ah... It doesn't matter-come on in. I just made a pot o' tea." Hagrid ushers the kids in quickly, shutting the door closed and pouring some tea into the cups but his hands shook while he did it.
"Hagrid, are you okay?" Harry asks as (y/n) rushes over to hold the teapot before the liquid spills over, taking it from Hagrid and pouring everyone tea, especially for him.
"I'm fine! I'm alright." the hugable giant looks panicked and nervous like he was on high alert for something.
"Did you hear about Hermione?" Harry asks as (y/n) leads Hagrid to sit down, giving him a cup of tea to try and soothe him down as he takes a sip.
"Oh, yeah. I heard about that, all righ'." he frowns lightly and (y/n) couldn't wait any longer.
"Who opened the Chamber of Secrets 50 years ago? Was it Tom Riddle? Was it you?" she blurts out, anxious for some answers so she could help Hermione. Everyone looks at her with wide eyes as she taps her foot impatiently on the floor.
"What you had to understand about that is-" there was sudden knocking on the door and Hagrid sighs in annoyance as Fang starts barking, ushering the kids to hide under the cloak again and to stay quiet. They do just that, hiding beneath the cloak as (y/n) stood in front of the boys when Hagrid opens his front door. "Professor Dumbledore, sir!"
"Good evening, Hagrid. I wonder, could we...?"
"Of course! Come in! Come in." Hagrid ushers in Dumbledore and another man Harry and (y/n) didn't recognise but Ron did.
"That's Dad's boss! Cornelius Fudge, Minister of Magic!" he explains, Fudge explaining how bad the situation was about three muggle-borns being attacked.
"Things have gone far enough. The Ministry's got to act."
"Oh, but I never-you know I never, Professor!" Hagrid exclaims.
"I want it understood, Cornelius, that Hagrid has my full confidence." Dumbledore says.
"Albus look, Hagrid's record is against him. I've got to take him." Fudge says, Hagrid wondering where they were taking him and begs that it wasn't Azkaban Prison. "I'm afraid we have no choice, Hagrid."
The hut's door opens once more and reveals a man (y/n) absolutely loathed and wished to never see again. "Already here, Fudge? Good..." Lucius Malfoy walks into the hut.
"What're you doin' here? Get outta my house!" Hagrid orders furiously, having equal disdain for the man.
"Believe me, I take absolutely no pleasure being inside your..." the kids quickly shuffle back when Lucius walks up to them, Harry quickly pulling (y/n) back with an arm around her shoulders. "you call this a house?" he goes onto explain how he called the school to ask where the headmaster was and that's why here was here.
"Well, what exactly is it that you want with me?" Dumbledore asks.
"The other governors and I have decided it's time for you to step aside." Hagrid and the kid's eyes widen at the notion of their headmaster being suspended as being the school's headmaster.
"This isn't good..." (y/n) whispers and the boys nod.
"Yeh can' take Professor Dumbledore away. Take him away, an' the Muggle-borns won' stand a chance! You mark my words, there'll be killin's next!" Hagrid warns and Lucius raises a brow at the notion like he was expecting that outcome.
"You think so?"
"Calm yourself, Hagrid. If the governors desire my removal, I will, of course, step aside. However," Dumbledore walks up to Lucius as he stood in front of the kids, looking directly at them and they knew he could sense they were there. "you will find that help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it."
Lucius looks behind him to see nothing and thinks the headmaster is crazy. "Admirable sentiments. Shall we?" he walks to the front door, opening it for Dumbledore as he nods to the kids before walking out with Lucius from the hut.
"Come, Hagrid... Well?" Fudge says.
"Ahem! If, uh, if anybody was looking for some stuff, then all they'd have to do would be to follow the spiders." Hagrid says, glancing at the kids subtly. "Yup! That would lead them right! That's all I have to say. Oh, and someone'll need to feed Fang while I'm away." the hound growls as Hagrid grabs his coat and walks out of his hut with Fudge, the door closing behind them.
The kids wait for a few minutes just in case before taking the cloak off. "Shotty not to feed Fang." (y/n) quickly says, touching her nose with a finger and Harry quickly does the same not knowing what it meant. "Ron's in charge of looking after Fang now!"
"No fair! I don't know what was with the nose touching!"
"Too bad." (y/n) sticks her tongue out at him and he huffs angrily. "Anyway, Hagrid's right. With Dumbledore gone, the attacks would be more serious instead of the victims being petrified!"
"Look!" Harry says, walking over to the wall where a line of spiders was crawling out the window. "Well, come on."
"Hell to the no! I will do anything to help but if it has spiders, no! No! Absolutely not!" (y/n) hisses, yelping as Harry grabs her arm to drag her outside while Ron grabs and lamp and urges Fang to follow them. "Harry no! I'm not going anywhere near spiders!" she screams out, begging him to let her go. She couldn't use her powers to fly away cause, well, Ron... "I'm not following spiders into the dark forest!"
~~~~~~~~
"Why spiders! Why couldn't it be... follow the butterflies!?" Both Ron and (y/n) complain as they follow Harry into the dark first with fang next to them, sticking close to their friend who was holding the lamp out for them and leading them.
They walked through the sparse trees, wary of what could be out there hiding in the darkness as the fog hovered around them. (y/n) was straggling behind, hovering behind the boys so she didn't have to step anywhere close to the spiders as they crawled on the floor, hugging herself into a ball with a shield around her so nothing would crawl on her. It was a risk using her powers behind the boys' backs while they followed the spiders but she will never, go near one.
"Harry, I don't like this... Harry, I don't like this at all!" Ron wails out as the kids walk to an area with tangled tree roots on the surface, the spiders crawling into a dark cave in front of them. Harry kept shushing the boy as he begged his friend to go back home which (y/n) completely agrees. There were too many spiders for her liking.
"Come on!" Harry says, climbing over the branches.
"Oh hell no!" (y/n) quickly runs away, ignoring the boys that were calling out for her. She sees that no one was around and cloaks herself invisible, flying back to where the boys were and seeing if there was another way she could follow them other than going through the cave full of spiders. She flies over the large trees, seeing the boys on the other side and she sighs in relief but that was quickly short-lived when she sees a giant spider crawl out. "Oh hell no..."
