(y/n) - your name
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Draco was the first to wake up since he was an early rise, rubbing his eyes and looking around the unfamiliar room he was in until he saw (y/n) fast asleep in her bed. He suddenly remembers the movie night they had and he smiles at the memory, deciding to do something to repay her back.
"Loki..." Draco whispers to the owl that was hopping around on the bed, cleaning himself with his beak until he looks up at the boy. "Stay here and keep (y/n) busy if she wakes up. I'm going to make her something in the kitchen." the owl nods, waddling to his owner's head and staring down at her. The boy grimaces at how well the bird understood him, rushing to his common room to brush his teeth, change and freshen up before going to the kitchen. It was still too early in the moving for the elves to be around so he had time to make something.
Let's hope I don't blow anything up...
Meanwhile in the Hufflepuff dorms, (y/n) was waking up to the feeling of someone watching her intently and she groans as she opens her eyes. She almost screams in pure fear when she sees her owl just staring down at her with wide green eyes. He hoots and moves to plop its feathered body directly on her face.
"Loki!" she sputters out against his feathers before picking up the owl as it wriggled in her hands, sitting up and setting him down on the bed. "You're a weird owl..." the bird hoots again, flying up to perch on top of (y/n)'s head and honestly, it was too early to fight with the owl so she simply gave up with it. She got out of bed and noticed that Draco was gone already, probably back in his common room and she shrugs. She goes to the girl's bathroom to brush her teeth, change and freshen up before heading downstairs with Loki still on her head. "Are you even an owl?" she asks him and all she gets back is another hoot.
(y/n) heads out of the common room to go to the kitchen, seeing smoke filter out from beneath the doorway gap and loud clanging before she barges in. "What in the bloody hell!?" she gasps seeing Draco standing in front of her frozen, holding a cloth he was using to try and fan the smoke away from the pans. "What are you doing!?"
"Trying to make breakfast..." the boy whispers, knowing he failed as everything pauses and glows red. (y/n) takes over, putting everything where it's supposed to go and taking care of the mess. Burnt food gets crushed, dirty pans in the washer, windows open to push the smoke out and cleaning up all the surfaces.
"Why were you trying to make breakfast!?" the Hufflepuff questions the Slytherin who rubs his neck nervously.
"I wanted to do something to say thanks for the movie night..."
"Draco... it's fine, you don't need to do all this. How about this, you sit down and I'll make something easy. Staying alone in an apartment makes you learn very quickly for a 13-year-old..." Unfortunately, it's something no 13-year-old should ever go through, to grow up quickly and learn how to fend for themselves, to cook and clean and learn how to just survive without the help of an adult but there was nothing (y/n) could do. It made living a little easier, however, that she was more mature than a normal child her age, feeling like she was older than she physically was. Which can't be right... right?
Draco nods and lets (y/n) do her thing, watching Loki stay perched on top of her head in confusion. It turned its head to stare at him with its wide green eyes and he gets very disturbed by it.
Did I get scammed into buying a creepy owl...?
"Why... why is Loki on your head?"
"I don't know. I don't think he's a normal owl." (y/n) shrugs, heading to the fridge and leans down to get some eggs and milk which makes Loki fly off since he was going to fall. He moves to perch on top of Draco's head and he sits still in fear with his arms out.
"Uh, (y/n)..." she turns around and laughs seeing the frightened look on his face as Loki just sits on him. "I think I made a mistake buying this thing..."
"Loki, down please." the owl hoots and jumps down, perching on the table and closing its eyes to sleep in a sunspot.
"He genuinely scares me..." Draco says, looking at the owl until (y/n) sets down multiple plates of food. "How did you make all this!?"
"Stole a few from restaurants but mostly made here." she shrugs. "I wasn't sure what you wanted to eat so there's a bit of everything." he looks at all the food in awe, smiling at her widely.
"Thank you."
"Dig in!" (y/n) says, both kids diving to eat as she gets a bowl and summons owl treats for Loki, to which he immediately wakes up from his sleep and bounces over to eat.

"Oh my god, the whole place is covered in snow!" (y/n) gasps as she jumps into the knee-deep snow, crawling out but sinking in further. "What in the bloody hell!?" Draco bursts out laughing when she tries to jump out back into the castle but falls face-first into the bed of snow. "Are you ok (y/n)? Can I help you (y/n)? Nah you're just laughing in my face right now!" the Hufflepuff girl huffs out as she gets up, shaking off the snow from her face as Draco calms down from his laughter.
"I can't help it! Your face!" he snickers seeing her cheeks and nose turn red, (y/n) picking up a bunch of snow and throwing it at his face but he quickly dodges it.
"Haha very funny." (y/n) huffs out, trying to crawl out of the snow but she decides to fly out, wringing out the snow from her clothes which dry off. "We can't move in this-let me try something real quick." the girl hovers next to Draco as she controls the snow, the white pile swirling around like white magic as it swirled around them. The boy watched in awe as (y/n) transformed the snow into two tall towers with snowball ammo and barriers, decorating the field like a battlefield. "Tada! Welcome Draco Malfoy to your Christmas snowball fight!" the boy rushes over to one of the towers, in absolute awe as he was able to go inside and walk up the stairs to stand at the top.
"THIS IS AMAZING!" Draco gasps out in awe, (y/n) flying to the other tower and setting down on it, picking up a snowball. Before she could pelt it at Draco, some other students rush outside and she quickly turns invisible, frowning lightly at the fact that she couldn't have fun with her friend.
"Malfoy! How in the bloody hell did you manage to get this done!?" It was a bunch of Slytherins that had stayed behind, in awe of the large snow towers.
"It was just here!" Draco quickly says, not wanting to take credit for (y/n)'s work.
"Who cares! Snowball fight!" the kids scream out, pelting a snowball at a random Gryffindor that was walking past with their friends.
"You absolute gits!" Now it was Slytherins versus Gryffindors, (y/n) flying down from the tower and staying to the side after revealing herself as she watched the battle commence. No one was paying attention to her while they played anyway.
"(y/n), what is happening here!?" Harry and Ron gasp out at the scene of flying snowballs when they walk out of the castle sometime after, the both of them suddenly pelted in the face as they fall back against the floor. Draco and his friends burst out laughing, the platinum blonde-haired boy quickly stopping one of the goons from hitting (y/n).
"Oh, that's it Malfoy!" Harry hisses out, both boys joining the Gryffindors to battle against the Slytherins. (y/n) watched in amusement, hiding behind a castle pillar to turn invisible again before flying over to both towers to create more snowballs for the teams.
"(y/n), do you think you can hit Finnigan over there?" Draco asks next to the snowball fight, feeling the wind breeze over him as she flies over. She picks up a snowball behind the specific Gryffindor and smashes it over his head, laughing silently.
"How!?" Seamus huffs out as the girl flies away next to Harry, forming snowballs in front of him to let him know she was there.
"(y/n), I can't get a hit on Crabbe and Goyle! Can you send some over?" he asks her with a grin, watching as two snowballs hover up in the air and fly forward to hit both boys over on their butts. He bursts out laughing, thanking her as she played advocates for both teams.
When it looked like that both teams were at a stalemate, (y/n) hovered above the teams and took control of all the snow. The kids all scream or gasp in awe as they fall to the ground, watching the snow swirl above them like a white blanket before dropping on them all. Heads pop up one by one above the white blanket of cold fluff, the kids all laughing with joy before jumping up to head back inside after a long snowball fight.
Draco waited until everyone was gone, looking for (y/n) as she became visible to him. "That was so much fun!" he grins happily, talking about how funny the Gryffindors looked when they got hit. "Hey, let's make a snowman." he noticed the slight defeat in his friends eyes when she couldn't play in the snowball fight, pulling her over to start making a snowman together. The two quickly made their own snowman each, rolling up the snowballs in 3 different sizes. (y/n) helped Draco put the head on top of his, summoning carrots, scarves, sticks, coal, and beanies. The Slytherin boy made a Slytherin snowman and the Hufflepuff created a Hufflepuff snowman.
"They're cute." (y/n) grins, quickly creating Hunter and Loki as two little snow owls. Draco doesn't say anything, pulling her down back and she gasps as both of them land on the snow. She looks over at him as he starts moving his arms and legs up and down, realising he was making snow angels and she does the same. "Ok, I'm cold and wet now." (y/n) chuckles as she sits up, wiping the water off herself.
"Yeah, I don't want to get sick. Let's head back inside-oh it's dinner now too!"
"You were right! Great timing!" the kids sluggishly get up, freezing from their clothes being soaked and (y/n) warms each of them up. Draco watches with amazement at how she wrung out the water from the clothes to get them dry, little water droplets floating away and dispersing into smog in the cold air.
"And when I think there's nothing you can't do." he muses as the kids walk into the castle to head back to their common room.
"I can't bring things back to life. That's something I can't do." (y/n) shrugs. "Hey, we can have dinner while watching another movie if you want." she suggests and Draco quickly nods.
"Let's watch a horror movie!" both kids split away to freshen up and change into warm clothes in their dorm rooms, sneaking off their dinner from the Great Hall and setting up their movie marathon in the Hufflepuff common room like they did the night before. Draco and (y/n) spent all night watching different movies, snacking on sweets and popcorn and spending their entire Christmas break together.
