(y/n) - your name

Harry and Ron went through the whole plan without a problem, easily making it into the Slytherin common room with Draco who didn't suspect a thing. "Well, sit down. I need an opinion from you, not like you both are the smartest bunch really." Draco says.
"Opinion on what?" Harry as Goyle asks.
"I'm getting a gift for (y/n)?" the platinum blonde-haired boy questions, sounding like he was unsure.
"What!?" Harry and Ron gasp in shock, Draco quickly coming up with a lie.
"A terrible gift of course! Something that would make her miserable." Draco clears his throat, pulling out a large birdcage and picking up the green cloth to reveal an owl.
"You got her an owl?" Ron as Crabbe asks.
"A rogue owl! I'll set it in her dorm and let it wreak havoc!" Draco quickly says, knowing that what he said wasn't true. Ron and Harry watch how bashful he becomes, their theory of (y/n) and Draco being friends was true! "Anyway, I'm surprised that the Daily Prophet hasn't done a report on all these attacks. I suppose Dumbledore is trying to hush it all up." he says, dropping back on the couch. "Father always said Dumbledore was the worst thing that ever happened to this place.
"You're wrong!" Harry as Goyle almost blows his cover, quickly saying that Harry Potter is worse which Draco agrees completely with bubbling rage and envy.
"And people actually think that he's the Heir of Slytherin!"
"But then you must have some idea who's behind it all." Harry pushes to try and get some information.
"You know I don't Goyle. I told you yesterday. How many times do I have to tell you? But my father did say this: It's been fifty years since the Chamber was opened. He wouldn't tell me who opened it-only that they were expelled. The last time the Chamber of Secrets was opened, a Mudblood died. So, it's only a matter of time before one of them is killed this time." Draco explains before turning to look at the door when he hears knocking. He quickly looks around to see that the common room was empty, and jumping up to open the door. Harry and Ron look at each other, panicking when they had started turning back.
"You sure I'm not going to get into trouble?" the Gryffindor boys whip around when hear (y/n), seeing her walk into the common room and they dash past her to leave making her gasp.
"Don't mind those two, they're too dumb to know anything." Draco says, not realising it was Ron and Harry who were in shock that he invited (y/n) into the Slytherin common room.
"Friends I tell you! Not only that, they're working together!" Ron yells out, the boys rushing to the girl's bathroom where Hermione was hiding in.
~~~~~~~~
"It's not much but this is for you. Happy belated 13th birthday Draco." (y/n) smiles warily as she hands him his gift, sitting next to him in the Slytherin common room and hoping he likes the gift. There was no one here but it worried her that someone might see her here and get her in trouble. Draco opens the wrapping to see that it was a journal filled with magic pictures that move of last year and this year. He flicked through it, smiling at the fact that most of the moments were with them two. "Also, new cassettes for your walkman! You really need to tell me what songs you like or I'm going to end up copying all my favourite songs and giving them to you." she passes him a box filled with multiple cassettes and Draco grins at the gifts.
"They're amazing (y/n). It's more than enough." He gently sets them to the side, reaching over to the couch to pull out her gift. "And this is for you. Happy 13th birthday (y/n) and Happy Christmas." Draco enjoys that excited look on her face as she takes the green cloth off to reveal an owl staring back at her with wide green eyes. "You didn't have an owl so I figured why not get you one? So we can talk to each other easier when we're away."
"He's perfect Draco! He's so cute!" the black owl coos softly, reaching its head out as (y/n) pets him. "Can I take him out?"
"Yeah, he's the most gentle owl that was suggested to me-for you I mean." Draco opens the cage door, the owl hopping onto (y/n)'s arm and she brings him to the couch to let him perch between the kids.
"Hi there cutie!" (y/n) smiles warmly, snapping her fingers as a pile of owl treats appears before the bird, it hooting happily before eating.
"What are you going to name him?"
(y/n) shrugs as she pets her new owl. "I don't really know. What do you suggest?"
"Midnight? Chase? Falcon? Hawk" (y/n) rolls her eyes at the masculine names Draco was coming up with.
"He's an owl, not a falcon." he shrugs, petting the owl when a name pops up in hee head. She didn't know where this name came from or why she resonated so deeply with it. "I wanna call him Loki." Draco gives (y/n) a look of confusion.
"Loki? Really?"
"We'll ask the owl then."
"-he won't understand us-"
"-Loki? Loki?" the owl perks, looking up at her. "Do you like that name? Loki?" he jumps up and down, the Hufflepuff girl giving the Slytherin boy a smirk in victory. "See! I know my pet better than you!"
"Yeah, yeah..." Draco rolls his eyes with a smile.
"Are you really staying here for the winter break?" (y/n) asks, intrigued but also concerned about why he wasn't going home. Were there issues with his dad? Issues at home?
"Yeah, just some ministry things my father is going through so my mother suggested I stay at Hogwarts. Granted that I'm going to miss all the traditions but it should be fine for one year." the girl could hear the sadness in his voice, wanting to cheer him up.
"What traditions?"
"Well on Christmas day we'd open gifts in the morning, take pictures together and I would help my mother make breakfast for both of us. She always has different recipes she tries to make with me every year. Then there's the snowball fight against the house elves. We always win." Draco reminiscences and (y/n) keeps all of this in mind. "Of course, father isn't home that time so that's why everyone is normally at ease or in peace of mind to have some fun."
"What else?"
"Well since the snowball fights mean we skip lunch, there is a huge dinner the elves make for us and then after that, my mother and I watch a film together..." Draco frowns, already missing his mother. "My father hated me being so weak but during this time, it was the only time my mother and I would be able to properly spend some time together. Sometimes away in another country..."
"Well your father is wrong, all of that sounds wonderful Draco." (y/n) says and he nods. "I know that Christmas is kinda over but we can still do all of those things."
"What do you mean?"
"The Hufflepuff house is completely empty. The entire house went back to their families so it's just me living in there." (y/n) says, Draco looking up at her with wide eyes as she lets Loki jump up to perch on her arm, picking up the birdcage and the green cloth with her powers after. "Come up in about half an hour and pick a movie you want to watch." she grins at him, opening the door and flying off to get everything ready for him.
(y/n) rushed back to the common room, setting it up with her powers to have a white cloth drape against a wall and moving the couches around to face it. She summons a bunch of junk food in different bowls and packages, blankets and pillows from her dorm room and a film projector stolen from a cinema. Loki was perched on the couch arm, watching (y/n) get everything ready for Draco until he knocks on the wall. She rushes over and opens the door to let him in and he shudders from how warm and sweet the common room was.
"It's so cozy in here..." he feels like he was being wrapped in a blanket. Draco turns to face the couch, gawking at the set-up (y/n) fixed just for him. "How-this is amazing!"
"Just stole a few things but they can be returned." she shrugs, dropping on the couch. "Now, which movie did you want to see?" Draco suggested an action thriller movie and (y/n) focuses, trying to find a reel for it as her hands glowed red. A reel jumps out onto her lap making both the kids jump in fright but laugh seeing that it was the movie film. She sets up the film, being careful with the reel and starting it before jumping beneath the layers of blankets since she has to blow out the fireplace to get some darkness.
Draco huddled in beneath the pillows and blankets, smiling widely as he watched the film. "Thank you so much for this (y/n)."
"It's no problem Draco, really." she whispers back to him, the kids sitting next to each other watching the film and eating sweets together.
~~~~~~~~
(y/n) jolts awake when her head nods to sleep, looking up drowsily to see that it was pitch black and freezing now. The film reel kept spinning and she quickly stopped the projector, the dark common room glowing red as she put everything back to how it was before and returning the equipment away to where they came from. She looks down to see Draco had fallen asleep next to her, laying his head on the couch arm near Loki who was also asleep. She smiles warmly at the two, setting the logs in the fireplace aflame again to get the common room nice and toasty like before.
(y/n) gently picked up Loki and swaddled him in the green cloth, picking him up with her powers along with Draco. She kept him wrapped up in the blankets and took everyone up to the dorms to sleep, setting the sleeping boy in one of the spare unused beds that weren't claimed since last year. He shudders from the sudden cold and (y/n) layers him up with blankets to keep him warm before she gently set Loki down in a nest at the end of her bed, carefully getting into bed herself and curling into her blankets plus the one Draco gifted her last year.
