"Everte stadium!" Draco casts the spell and everyone gasps when Harry goes flying.
He quickly gets up and casts the next spell against Draco. "Rictusempra!" the platinum blonde-hair boy goes flying, landing on his butt and letting out a groan in pain before Snap harshly picks him up by his cloak to push him back to duel.
"Serpensortia!" Draco grins as Harry lowers his wand after he cast the spell, the Gryffindor boy not knowing the countercurse for his spell.
Draco looks at Snape for approval but the professor just breezes past the boy. He frowns lightly and looks down to see (y/n) giving him a quick thumbs up and he smiles again. Everyone suddenly watched as Lockhart tried to get rid of the snake, it flying up but coming back down almost unharmed. It was even more agitated now, snarling and hissing at the students. Harry suddenly walked up to it, speaking in another language as the snake hisses at (y/n) and this other Hufflepuff boy next to her. The both of them didn't dare to move in case the snake got threatened to attack them, looking up at Harry who was speaking in its snake language.
"Potter, what do you think you're doing!?" Draco hisses seeing (y/n) afraid and stuck in a bad situation, her eyes wide with fear and he steps forward to help her but Snape shoves him back.
He watches with concern, seeing her hands shake as she held herself from using her powers when the snake launched to hiss at her and her housemate. Snape finally got rid of the snake and (y/n) sighs in relief as Hermione held her, the Hufflepuff boy next to her snapping at Harry but he runs away. Hermione, Ron and (y/n) rush after him, Draco frowning that (y/n) went after the person that was trying to attack her.
"Harry! What just happened in there!?" (y/n) yells out as the boy crossed the courtyard, stopping to face his friends that stopped in front of him.
"You're a Parselmouth!? Why didn't you tell us!?" Ron exclaims, Harry and (y/n) looking confused.
"I'm a what?"
"He's a what now? Are you calling him a herb?" Ron and Hermione look at the two wondering how on earth they don't know what that is.
"You can talk to snakes." Hermione explains.
"I know. I mean, I accidentally set a python on my cousin Dudley at the zoo once."
"Cool!" (y/n) says but Ron and Hermione had uneasy expressions.
"Uh, once! But, so what? I bet loads of people here can do it." Ron shakes his head no at Harry.
"No, they can't. It's not a very common gift, Harry. This is bad." Hermione says.
"What's bad? If I hadn't told that snake not to attack (y/n) and Justin-"
"-oh, that's what you said to it!" Ron says and Harry looked at him in confusion.
"You were there! You heard me!"
"I heard you speaking Parseltongue. Snake language?" the Weasley kid explains.
"I spoke a different language? But-I didn't realize I-how can I speak a language without knowing I can?"
"I don't know, Harry, but it sounded like you were egging the snake on against (y/n) and Justin, or something. Harry, listen to me. There's a reason the symbol of Slytherin House is a serpent. Salazar Slytherin was a Parselmouth. He could talk to snakes, too." Hermione quickly says.
"Exactly! Now the whole school's gonna think you're his great-great-great-grandson or something!" Ron exclaims.
"But I'm not! ... I can't be..." Harry mutters out.
"He lived a thousand years ago; for all we know, you could be." Hermione sighs out.
~~~~~~~~
It was an extremely cold morning as (y/n) walked up a grassy hill, wrapping her blanket around her tight. She walked until she saw Harry sitting up on a cliff with Hedwig, looking out at the castle and the lake. She sat next to him silently, offering to share her blanket but he shakes his head no.
"I know you never meant to hurt us. I trust you Harry." (y/n) says and he smiles at her softly.
"Thank you (y/n)."
"Ron and Hermione feel the same way too."
"I don't know about that..." the boy sighs sadly, looking back out at the lake that reflected the clear blue sky perfectly. "Who am I (y/n)? What am I?"
"I think that's something we're all trying to figure out ourselves..." she mutters out, knowing that those were her main questions she needed answering about herself too. Harry sighs and leans his head against her shoulder, letting her drape her blanket around him. The two sat together quietly for some time until the boy had to go for class. "Need a lift?" (y/n) asks and Harry nods, gasping in surprise as he hovers in the air from her powers. She jumps up and hovers next to him after cloaking each other, taking the both of them to fly down back to the castle with Hedwig following close behind. (y/n) takes Harry inside the castle and into an empty dim hallway, setting the both of them down and shaking off her powers.
"Thanks (Y/n)..."
"No problem Harry. You know you can always come to me." The boy nods, walking off but he stops, quickly turning round to hug (y/n). She freezes in surprise at the hug but moves to hug him back, squeezing the boy warmly before letting him go. What she doesn't realise is a certain platinum blonde-haired boy watching from the distance with a deep frown on his face. (y/n) decides to go back to her common room, walking out of the hallway but she suddenly gets shoved back in by Draco. "Oi! What gives!?" she throws his hands off her as he narrows his eyes at her.
"You like Potter!" he shoves her against the wall and she gasps from the impact, pushing him back harder.
"No, I don't! What kind of idiotic idea was that!?"
"You were hugging him!"
"Doesn't mean that I like him! People just need hugs sometimes when they're upset!" Draco looks away hurt, arms crossed and (y/n) realised that he was jealous. "You want me to hug you, don't you?" he doesn't say anything but doesn't deny it either. "I won't hug you unless you ask Draco." she snickers, the boy sighing and dropping his arms to his side.
"I want... a hug too..." (y/n) moves to hug Draco, wrapping her arms around him and he freezes for a second before wrapping his arms around her shoulders. "You're very small." he snickers, realising how he had to bend down to hug the girl who felt very warm against him. It felt nice to hug her.
"Draco!" (y/n) gasps when he suddenly lifts her up, holding his shoulders tightly as she kicked her feet. "Put me down!"
"Yep, small." he grins, setting the girl down when she started wacking his shoulder. "Ok, I'm sorry! Stop hitting me!" (y/n) stomps off in embarrassment, Draco quickly following after her. "I'm staying for Christmas by the way." She stops and looks at him with wide eyes, a grin growing on her face.
"Really!?" he nods. "I get to torture you over winter break now!"
~~~~~~~~
"That's some real bad luck Harry, to be found with the petrified Justin. It really looks bad on your part even though you didn't do it." (y/n) says as she was eating dinner with golden trio, Harry explaining to her and the others what happened so far. With him hearing the voice again, one of the ghosts plus Justin being petrified and such. The girl shook off the stray snow that was falling over her, covering her food so it doesn't get ruined even though it was fake snow to bring a Christmasy feel to the winter break.
It was the winter break again, and almost all of the students heading back home in fear of being targeted next leaving a few stragglers at Hogwarts here and there. "Everything's set. We just need a bit of who you're changing into." Hermione says as she sits back down on the bench with a plate of sweets for everyone, (y/n) moving over on where she was sitting on the table to leave space for the plates.
"Crabbe and Goyle." the boys say.
"We also need to make sure that the real Crabbe and Goyle can't burst in on us while we're interrogating Malfoy." Hermione warns.
"How?" (y/n) asks as she eats some cake,
"I've got it all worked out. I filled these with a simple Sleeping Draught. Simple, but powerful." Hermione takes out some cupcakes, setting them down on the table.
"You know, you're scary in your own way girl." (y/n) mumbles out, picking up a cupcake to smell it and it smelled normal. No potion scent or anything to reveal it's suspicious nature.
"Thank you." Hermione takes her words as a compliment with a smile. "Now, once they're asleep, hide them in the broomstick cupboard and pull out a few of their hairs, and put on their uniforms." the boys look at each other hearing this risky plan.
"Whose hair are you ripping out then?" Ron exclaims.
"I've already got mine. Millicent Bulstrode-Slytherin." Hermione takes out a vial of hair. "I got this off her robes. I'm going to go check on the Polyjuice Potion. Make sure that Crabbe and Goyle find these." she points to the cupcakes and both boys nod.
"Well, this sound like this plan isn't going to crash and burn so Imma go and crash into bed."
"Wait, you're not helping us!?" Ron begs but she shakes her head.
"I think you three are capable enough. I trust what you're doing-oi!" (y/n) hisses as she turns around when she feels someone pull off the hair tie of her braid, her hair unravelling. She groans as she sees Draco snickering at her as he walked past, spinning her hair tie around his finger. He just wanted a reason for her to come and talk to him. "I'll see you guys later." (y/n) sighs out, jumping off the table to run after the Slytherin boy who sat with his goons, waiting for her.
The golden trio just looked at each other after the strange interaction. "Is it me or do they seem buddy buddy?" Ron asks and Hermione and Harry quickly nod.
"Exactly. He says they're not friends but I think he's lying." Harry says, remembering how Draco was holding (y/n)'s hand, even if it might be a strange hallucination on the boys part.
"You don't think (y/n) has been telling our plans to him?" Hermione asks.
"Nah, no way." All three of them said quickly.
"But I think there's something going on with the two of them." Harry says, pointing to the two as (y/n) had climbed on the table to grab her hair tie from Draco who was laughing and keeping it above his head away from her.
The golden trip could hear her whines to give it back to her and he does, dropping it on top of her head. Draco took out his wand and twirled it around his fingers, (y/n) picking up on the signal before he walked out of the Great Hall. The Golden trip watched as she nonchalantly walked across the table, tying up her hair and waving goodbye to them before leaving. They all quickly rush over to the entrance, peeking their head out when they heard giggling.
Draco was hugging (y/n) before he picked her up, making her gasp in surprise before punching him on the shoulder to let her go and he does. "They're friends!" the trio gasp out, seeing the two walk away while chatting happily.
