(y/n) - your name

"Could I have your attention, please? Right. Now, today, we will be transforming animals into water goblets." Another day, another class as students sat quietly in McGonagall's classroom for transfiguration. Now normally, Draco would be paying attention with interest but was instead trying to get (y/n) to talk to him again. She was facing the front the entire time, face blank and taking notes while he was trying to grab her attention. "Problem Mr. Malfoy?" he quickly looks straight to see the professor look at him with a raised brow along with the rest of the students, McGonagall glancing at the Slytherin and Hufflepuff sitting next to each other.

"No ma'am."

"In that case, let's continue." she casts the spell and turns a bird into a water goblet before choosing a student to do the spell next. Ron was unfortunately chosen, casting the spell not as correctly which turned his rat into a furry cup instead.

"Professor," Hermione puts her hand up and McGonagall nods for her to continue. "I was wondering if you could tell us about... the Chamber of Secrets?" everyone waited for an answer, the professor looking defeated.

"Well, very well. Well, you all know, of course, that Hogwarts was founded over a thousand years ago by the four greatest witches and wizards of the age: Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. Now, three of the founders coexisted quite harmoniously. One did not." McGonagall explains. "Salazar Slytherin wished to be more selective about the students admitted to Hogwarts. He believed magical learning should be kept within all-magic families. In other words, pure-bloods." Hermione turned around to glare at Draco but he was focused on (y/n), soon giving up and turning away. The Gryffindor girl looks in confusion between the two, wondering what was going on between them

They're not friends... are they?

"Unable to sway the others, he decided to leave the school. Now, according to legend, Slytherin had built a hidden chamber in this castle, known as the Chamber of Secrets. Though, shortly before departing, he sealed it until that time when his own true heir returned to the school. The heir alone would be able to open the chamber and unleash the horror within, and by so doing purge the school of all those who, in Slytherin's view, were unworthy to study magic."

"Muggle-borns..." Hermione mumbles out.

"Well, naturally, the school had been searched many times. No such chamber has been found."

"Professor? What exactly does legend tell us lies within the Chamber?"

"Well, the Chamber is said to be home to something that only the Heir of Slytherin can control. It is said to be the home of a monster."

~~~~~~~~
The transfiguration class soon ends and (y/n) was packing up to walk to the library for her break, heading out with the other students when she suddenly gets pulled into a dim hallway. "Draco-"
"-just talk to me please."
"You know why I'm not!" (y/n) snaps as she looks at Draco who stood in front of her, pushing off the wall and shoving him back.
"It's been days-"
"-what and you think I would just forgive you easily?" she huffs out, crossing her arms. He just looks at her with a frown, scrambling to get something out of his bag and drop it in her hands. It was some chocolates and sandwiches again that he got someone to steal for him from the kitchen. "Did you really think food was going to make me happy?" to be honest, she kinda was.
"I'm sorry ok. I have to say it so my housemates don't get suspicious."
"Fine, fine. You're just so... hot and cold. You act one way and then do a full 180 to turn into someone else..."
"Wanna go to the pitch? It's empty and I have a break." Draco didn't know what else to say except change the subject.
"I do too... I guess we can go." Draco grins as (y/n) hands him some of the food back so they could eat together, him taking hold of her hand and pulling them out into the now empty hallway in broad daylight.
In the meanwhile, the golden trio were talking about who the Slytherin heir was and their number one suspect was Draco Malfoy. They walk down the empty hallway, trying to come up with a plan when Harry sees (y/n) and Draco holding hands. He gasps loudly, stopping from the sight as Ron and Hermione turn around to look at him with concern.
"What's wrong Harry?" he rubs his eyes thinking they were tricking him when he didn't see them again, as if they just disappeared into thin air. Maybe he really was seeing things...
"Nothing... I thought I just saw-never mind." the group goes back to talking strategy.
"Crabbe and Goyle must know! Maybe we could trick them into telling!" Ron says.
"Even they aren't that thick. But there might be another way. Mind you, it would be difficult. Not to mention, we would be breaking about fifty school rules. And, it'll be dangerous. Very dangerous." Hermione warns the boys but they nod, eager to know what needs to be done.
~~~~~~~~

"Get back down here!" Draco exclaims with a smile on his face as he watched (y/n) hover above him upside, dangling his tie just out of reach from him. She giggles and simply flies up higher before he could grab it when he jumps up, zooming around him as her laughter surrounds him.

"You're too slow!" she mocks, hovering in front of him upside down with a giant grin and he huffs out, stomping away and she thinks she might have gone too far. "Draco?" he disappears by the Quidditch equipment building, floating back down to the ground while she held his tie tightly in her hands. "I'm sorry!"

"You soon will be for calling me too slow!" he yells out from the other side of the pitch, taking out his broom and getting on. He had a mischievous smile on his face, (y/n) grinning back just as widely.

"You wouldn't dare!"

"Don't underestimate me (y/n)!" Draco calls out as he zooms after her, making her gasp and quickly shoot up into the air. He chased after the laughing girl, trying to reach up to her as she weaved in and out of the Quidditch stands, circling around the pitch to try and shake him off her tail. He catches up to her quickly, gliding next to her and tilting her way before she flies down below him. He looks down to see her smiling, her peeling backwards so now she was behind him and Draco quickly stops before he crashes into a stand.

"You're good at flying, but not as good as me." she taunts him, hovering next to him to give him his tie back

"Says the all-powerful witch who has an advantage over everyone." Draco rolls his eyes, relaxing on his broom as he watches (y/n) hover over behind him. Her feet gently stand on the end of his broom before she launches up to the sky, flying fast through the sky and stopping above the clouds before relaxing back to let herself fall. "(y/n)? (y/n)!?" The Slytherin panics as he sees her fall backwards, gaining speed faster and faster and he zooms down to try and catch her but she was too fast. "(Y/N)!" he gasps when she quickly turns around before hitting the ground and launches back up, a ring of red light bursting from her as she zooms past him. Like a boom of light, she spins around and the air around her shimmers red. The whole scene was magical to Draco, him leaning on his broom in awe as he saw (y/n) light up. She flies back down to him, a wide smile on both of their faces. "Show off."

"Someone has to. You've been up on that high horse of yours for too long." she chuckles lightly, flying back down to rest and the platinum blonde-haired boy follows suit. He sets his broom down next to him as the kids sit on the floor in front of each other to eat.

"Are you coming to the Quidditch game at the end of this week?" Draco asks, eating chocolate.

"You know sports isn't my thing." (y/n) shrugs and the boy pinches her arm. "Ow!"

"Just this once. It's my first game too."

"Ok, ok. You drive a hard bargain." she sighs out, pointing up to the sky. "I may or may not be there, invisible in the clouds while cheering you on." Draco smiles, actually excited for the game now.

~~~~~~~~
It was finally game day, the skies bright and blue with a few speckles of clouds drifting by. (y/n) was hiding next to the Quidditch rooms where the players were changing, cloaked invisible and waiting for her friends to come out. Harry comes out first in his Quidditch uniform and she pulls him to the side as he yelps, appearing before him and he sighs in relief.
"Good luck Harry." she hovers in front of him, winking before disappearing again and he grins.
"Thank you (y/n). And thanks for the brooms too." he chuckles when she makes her hands visible, giving him thumbs up before disappearing again and he walks away.
(y/n) waits for a bit for Draco, expecting him to come out by himself but he was surrounded by the other players that were encouraging him that he would do good. He was nervous but hid it well as best as he could, expecting to see (y/n) but he was disappointed when he didn't see her. He walked out by the entrance of the pitch, trying to get himself ready behind the rest of the players when he suddenly felt hands on his shoulders.
"You'll do great Draco." he sighs in relief like the weight floats off with (y/n) as she appears behind him.
"You actually came to the game."
"You asked!" the two kids whisper, hiding behind some pillars as (y/n) drops to the ground in front of him.
"But I didn't actually think-"
"-hey, I'm going to support you even though you're a pompous git. What are friends for." Draco smiles widely in amusement as he sees (y/n) disappear in a ripple, almost like the Cheshire cat with her smile disappearing last. His team was called out onto the pitch and he feels her shove him forward.
"Games on kid. Batter up!" he hears her say, wind rushing by him and he knew she had flown away to watch the game from above him like an angel.
