"(y/n)!" Draco gasps as he finally sees her, pausing his pacing in front of the castle doors in his pj's as she walks into the school with the others and he runs up to her.
"Draco!" she giggles as he picks her up, spinning her around happily to see she was back safe and sound. "Ok, put me down." he does as she says, being gentle with her as he notices her wince in pain. He holds her face gently and she notices the tear streaks on his cheeks, leaning up to kiss him to let him know she truly was here with him.
"Should we tell him?" Ron whispers to Hermione and Harry, the three of them looking over at the couple with Ginny, Neville and Luna. They were talking about everything Harry went through after he ran after Bellatrix, cursing her and Voldemort trying to persuade him to kill her. He explained how Dumbledore came to save him and fought the Dark Lord, Voldemort retreating and trying to pry into his mind before running away when the others came to save him.
"About what? That his father is a Death Eater? It would crush the both of them!" Ginny hisses, seeing how happy the Hufflepuff and Slytherin were to see each other again.
"What if he knows already?" Harry mutters out. "What if he is one?"
"I don't think he does. There's no way Malfoy is a Death Eater. He wouldn't do that to (y/n)." Neville says.
"Forbidden love. Quite tragic." Luna simply says, the friends looking at her strangely.
"We should tell him though." Ron asks again.
"How can she still be with him after knowing his father is a Death Eater?" Harry frowns.
"Because they love each other." Hermione says, everyone going quiet.

"Hey..." (y/n) knocks on the bedroom door of the boys Gryffindor dorm, looking at the empty room expect for Harry sitting on his bed with a forlorn look on his face.
"Hey..." he mutters, a weak smile on his face which quickly falters knowing once again, he put (y/n) in danger because of him. She walked over to him, sitting down on the bed in her jeans and sweater. "I'm sorry-"
"-boi, if I earned money from when you apologised for every time I save you or my friends, I would be rich." the Hufflepuff jokes but it makes the Gryffindor sour even more. "Bad joke... sorry..."
"I keep putting you in harms way-"
"-I keep jumping into harm's way." (y/n) corrects Harry. "It's not you Harry. It's... just who I am. I need to protect the ones I care about, protect everyone in this universe. It's my job-"
"-it's not supposed to be!" he snaps, holding his head in his hands. "Friends are not supposed to be fighting Dark Lords or Death Eaters. Why couldn't we be just normal kids?"
"Because we're not normal kids... and unfortunately, not you either..." the Hufflepuff says, remembering the prophecy. "Want to vent?" the Gryffindor sighs and looks at his friend, pushing away all feeling for her.
"One of us is gonna have to kill the other, in the end. Voldermort... or me... but why me?"
"You're the chosen one... the one to end it all..." the girl watches her friend crumble under this realisation, his shoulder faltering from this heavy weight. "But you're not alone. Don't ever think you are. You are never alone. You have Hermione, Ron, your friends, your classmates, this entire school and the Order. There are so many people who have your back. You're not fighting alone Harry."
"...What about you...?" Harry asks, looking at (y/n) who goes rigid. He notices how tired she looked but much better than the night at the ministry and he silently thanks Malfoy for taking care of her. Her streaks were faded but there were still there, permanent and needed to be covered up by long clothing now.
"What about me?" she whispers.
"Are you... are you with me-us? In this fight?" the Gryffindor picks up the sad smile on the Hufflepuff's face, her eyes tearing up.
"Of course I am. Draco called me the Guardian of lost souls." she chuckles, not realising how true that joke was. "I'll protect everyone here. You all deserve a happy future no matter what."
"Really?" Harry whispers, blinking at the pinky that (y/n) raised and he smiles, looping his own around hers.
"Really. Till the very end Harry."
"Promise."
The girl falters but quickly smiles with a nod. "Promise." The two breakaway, standing up to go join everyone who was leaving for their holidays. "See you next year Harry."
"Yes, I'll see you for Year 6." the Hufflepuff nods and starts to walk away but was quickly pulled back by the Gryffindor, the boy hugging her tight. "Thank you... for everything." she hugs him tight, slowly letting go and says goodbye to her friend before running down the stairs to the grand foyer where a certain platinum blonde-haired boy was waiting for her.
(y/n) looked around in confusion as she tried to look for him among the student body all chattering loudly, not realising that he was hiding around the corner for her to walk by him. "Boo!" he scares her when she screams and picks her up from behind, earning a yelp from his girlfriend whose cheeks burn red from embarrassment.
"Draco put me down!" he knickers and sets down his Puff who turns around to look at him with her arms crossed.
"Oh don't be so mad Puff." he pinches her cheek and she swats his hand away, huffing. "Come on princess." he grins mischievously as he pulls her close by her waist, pecking her lips.
"Draco..." she nods to the students who were watching them but he couldn't care less, a wide smile on his face as he coos at her red cheeks.
He softens as he notices her wearing long covering clothes, brushing his thumb against her cheek. "How are you feeling?" he whispers, gently pushing up her sleeve to see the permanent faded streaks on her skin.
"Better. Thank you for looking after me the last week."
"Anything for you princess, you know that." Draco leans down and presses his forehead against (y/n)'s as he hugs her. "I would do anything for you." she burns from his words, a lovesick smile on her face as she leans up to kiss him sweetly.
"I don't know how I can thank you." the Slytherin leans back and rubs his chin, mocking his Puff.
"Marry me." the Hufflepuff sputters, looking at him with wide eyes like he was crazy.
"What!? Nah you good in the head man!?"
"What, can't I ask you to marry me? Is there something wrong with being a Malfoy?" the boy grins mischievously as he speaks louder at every word, the students around him whispering and gossiping. "You could be my Mrs Malfoy-"
"-Draco! We're still in school!"
"Ok, ok. But I'm asking you again the minute we graduate. You better say yes." (y/n) scoffs with a blush, shoving her boyfriend away to walk off with the rest of the students to the station. "Oh come on Puff! I know you want to!" he runs after her, a smirk on his face.
"Maybe..." his smile widens at that. "Maybe not!" he rolls his eyes with a smile as his girlfriend chuckles.
"I'll make you my wife one way or another! Malfoys always get what they want."
"I'm not an object Draco."
"Mhm but you're mine and you know that."
"Can you stop with the blatant flirting!" (y/n) fans her face, feeling incredibly hot which makes her boyfriend laugh happily. She looks up at him as he wore his black suit, his hair fluffy and soft and his eyes glinting with cheer. She wanted to see him like this only, to see him happy forever. That was her only wish.
"I can't help it when I have the most beautiful girlfriend in the world." Draco grins, kissing the top of her head and his heart soars seeing her smile widely up at him. She was his breath of fresh air, his only sense of freedom. She made him feel so alive, so out of this world. She was everything to him.
"Ok, enough of that now." the couple stop at the station, seeing the train as students start to get their luggage in before they got into the compartments. The Hufflepuff snaps her fingers, ignoring the shock of pain running through her hand as her boyfriend's luggage is put away on the train.
"Thank you." the Slytherin murmured before kissing her cheek and leaning his chin on her shoulder as he pulled her into a hug. He wanted to hold her one more time before they part ways again, taking in her sweet honey and floral scent. He had to go home without her to the cold walls of the Malfoy Manor with his father, forever growing worried for his Puff until they see each other again at Hogwarts.
"Draco?" (y/n) whispers, worried when he held her tighter, burying his face against her neck and not wanting to let her go.
"I don't want to go... I don't want to be away from you..." he whispers, melting against her touch as she leans up to run her fingers through his hair. Draco would be lying if he didn't have that sinking feeling in his stomach like something dark was going to happen and he wasn't sure he would be able to face his love again.
"We'll see each other again. We can call too. And if you want, I can always come over to visit you in secret." he smiles at her suggestions but it didn't help shake off the terrible feeling.
"What would I do without you..."
"I don't know, keep bullying everyone and being a git." the Slytherin leans back and flicks the Hufflepuffs forehead as she whines from the pain, rubbing the spot. "Oi!"
"Promise me." Draco says, bringing his pinky up and (y/n) looks at him with a frown seeing how serious he was. "Promise me... that you'll always be there for me... always be by my side?" she frowns deeper, hands shaking at the promise she had to make for real. She wasn't sure-she didn't want to break it-
"-I promise." she says quickly, curling her pinky around her boyfriend's who eases into a smile. "I promise to be there for you and care for you till the end Draco."
"And I promise you the same, till the very end (y/n). You will always have my heart." she blushes from his sentiment, caught off guard lightly when he kisses her. The Slytherin pulls his Puff closer, gently holding her cheek as he kissed her with everything he had. He poured all his love and feelings into the kiss as she did the same. The Hufflepuff didn't notice the tears that spilled down her boyfriend's cheeks until he pulled away and she wiped them away gently, him leaning his cheek into her touch as he kissed her palm.
"I'll see you soon again Draco..." she whispers and he nods with a smile, pressing a lingering kiss on her forehead before he steps back hesitantly and walks towards the train to get on.
Draco waves goodbye, sending air kisses to (y/n) who flusters and holds the shirt above her heart as he ducks into the transport, disappearing from her sight. She smiles sadly, walking off away from the station to meet her friends who wave at her.
"Another year gone, huh. Another death-defying adventure too." she mocks, Harry, Ron and Hermione rolling their eyes with grins.
"Ain't that the bloody truth." Ron chuckles lightly, looking up to greet Neville, Ginny and Luna who joins them all.
"I've been thinking about something Dumbledore said to me." the friends look at Harry.
"What's that?" Hermione asks.
"That even though we've got a fight ahead of us... we've got one thing that Voldemort doesn't have."
"Yeah?"
"Something worth fighting for." the Gryffindor says, everyone smiling at each other before they all hugged one last time.
