(y/n) - your name

"God fucking damn it! Why the fuck is it so cold!?" (y/n) hissed out angrily, holding her cloak tightly around herself as she and Draco walked down a snow-covered path through Hogsmeade. They were heading to an Inn Hermione had told them they were going to hold the meeting, some Hog's Head Inn just off the beaten path.

"You really hate the cold." the Slytherin boy chuckles lightly, trying to cover up his nervousness as he held his girlfriend to his side.

"I mean, I'm wearing like 4 layers of clothing..." he heard her muffle beneath her scarf, admiring the cute way her nose was slightly pink along with her cheeks.

"We'll be indoors in no time." he muses, nodding to the inn that was just up ahead of them, quickly heading inside to escape the cold.

"Thank god...." (y/n) started unpeeling her layers of clothing, setting it aside in the very empty and very old inn. "This is... conspicuous. They got a perfect fit for secrecy..." she chuckles seeing eth disgust on her boyfriend's face of the dirty inn, standing still away from anything that would dirty him. "Ok, time to set up the chairs." the Hufflepuff looks around for anyone, making sure the owners were gone before levitating some chairs and setting them up to face one way for the conference-like meeting.

"Who's supposed to be meeting us, then?" the couple quickly hears the golden trio walk towards the inn, (y/n) looking at Draco who was slightly panicking. He didn't know if he wanted to stay for this meeting or leave.

"Do you want them to know you're here?" his Puff asks her and he shakes his head no. "Ok, I'm going to make you invisible then." she holds his hand tightly, easing his thoughts when he could feel her warmth. "Stay quiet ok." he nods and she kisses the back of his hand to let him know she was there for him and that she wasn't going to let him go.

"(y/n)!" the golden trio smile happily knowing she was there, waving at her and thanking her for setting up the chairs.

"No problem. Let's get this show on the road shall we." she says, looking up at Draco-who she could see only-briefly and standing next to her friends when the people they invited started milling into the Inn.

"Hi." Hermione breathes out nervously, looking at everyone that was inside and she eases when (y/n) squeezes her shoulder in comfort. "So you all know why we're here." she stands up to address everyone from the chair she was sitting on, becoming confident in the cause. "We need a teacher. A proper teacher. One who's had experience defending themselves against the Dark Arts."

"Why?" some random kid asks.

"Why? Because You-Know-Who's back, you tosspot." Ron snaps back.

"So he says." the kid retorts.

"So Dumbledore says." Hermione explains.

"So Dumbledore says because he says. The point is, where's the proof? If Potter could tell us more about what happened at the trials..." another points out, Draco watching the entire interaction with dissatisfaction. He turns to look at (y/n) and his brows furrow with concern when she grasps her back, hearing a hiss of pain whenever the trials were mentioned.

"Are you ok?" he whispers as he moves to rub her back but she quickly steps away from him, her eyes wide with worry and a pang of hurt in his heart. Their hands had broken apart and he frowns at her. "(y/n)-" she subtly shakes her head no, stepping back next to him to hold his hand again while the meeting went on.

"Is it true you can produce a Patronus Charm?" Luna Lovegood asks, everyone looking at her but she looks at Harry.

"Yes, he can." (y/n) pipes up, looking at Hermione. "Hermione and I have seen it.

"Blimey, Harry. I didn't know you could do that." Dean says.

"First year, he fought off the troll and Quirell, second he killed the Basilisk with the sword in Dumbledore's office, third a bunch of dementors and last year, he fought Voldemort." (y/n) lists off one by one, Harry looking at her with wide eyes knowing she was blatantly lying.

Because she was the one who did most of those things.

"(y/n)-"

"-he is the most qualified-"

"-wait. Look, it all sounds great when you say it like that... but the truth is, most of that was just... 'luck'." Harry cuts (y/n) off, looking at her directly. "I didn't know what I was doing half the time. I nearly always had help."

"He's just being modest."

"No, Hermione, I'm not." Harry sighs out, holding a hand out for (y/n) to pull her forward away from Draco, their hands pulled apart. She anxiously looks back at her boyfriend who clenches his jaw, furious about finding out everything she had done to save this git's ass and putting her own life at risk because of him and the fact that Harry was holding her hand. "The only reason (y/n) knew about all this is because she was with me at every moment of danger. She helped me." Harry sighs out. "Facing this stuff in real life is not like school. In school, if you make a mistake, you can just try again tomorrow. But out there... when you're a second away from being murdered... or watching a friend die right before your eyes..." the Gryffindor boy looks at the Hufflepuff next to him with a deep frown. "You don't know what that's like. You don't know what we both went through..." Harry let (y/n)'s hand go with a heavy sigh, sitting back down in his seat and she stepped back with Draco.

"You're right, Harry, we don't. That's why we need your help." Hermione says, sitting back down. "Because if we're going to have any chance at beating..." she hesitated, pushing through her fear. "Voldemort..."

"He's really back." the kid asks, everyone looking at Harry and (y/n) who nod slowly, grim looks growing on their faces.

"He's actually been back since the first year. Quirell was possessed by him." everyone gasps in shock, looking at (y/n). "That was the first time we saw him but we didn't know who he was back then." Harry nods in agreement, the group murmuring to each other that the Dark Lord had been back the entire time. "He was the one to control the Basilisk and hurt the students, his Death Eaters attacking Harry and Cedric..." everyone turns to look at the male Hufflepuff, shrinking back from the gazes.

"Wait, how did you help Harry and Cedric if you didn't know where they were?" someone asks (y/n) but the three of them ignore the question as Hermione sets a piece of paper on the table in front of them. She had set out a contract stating the rules of Dumbledore's Army, to never reveal the group and their activities or their whereabouts. The contract was spelled so the contents wouldn't reveal itself to anyone who reads it or finds it without the spell. Each person that was here came up to sign to join the group. One by one they all left except for the Weasleys and Neville.

"Go, I'll put everything back as it is." (y/n) says, the group waiting outside and she unveils Draco. He stood their silently, looking at the contract that sat ominously on the table. "Draco... you don't have to sign." he doesn't say anything, walking towards the contract and signing it.

"If it means keeping you safe." he nods, handing her the paper once he was done.

"You..."

"I don't want you risking your life anymore... I can't..." he sighs out, leaning his forehead on hers while trying to come up with the words he wanted to tell her. Tell her how terrified he was of all of this.

"Thank you..." she whispers, not knowing what she was thanking for but she just wanted to let him know that she was grateful for him being there with her every step of the way. Draco smiles wearily, watching (y/n) sign the contract as well. It felt like they were signing their life away, signing away for something far bigger in the future.

The Hufflepuff jumps to hug her boyfriend tightly and he holds her tight, burying his head against her shoulders. He pulls back hesitantly, letting her put the chairs away. The Slytherin holds his Puff's hand as she takes him outside, still invisible to the group as they walked back to the castle.

"So where are we practicing?" Neville asks.

"(y/n) actually found the perfect place." Harry says.

"Harry, but what happens if Umbridge does find out?" Ginny questions.

"Who cares? I mean, it's sort of exciting, isn't it, breaking the rules?" everyone looks at Hermione as she giggles in excitement.

"Who are you and what have you done with Hermione Granger?" the group all head inside the castle, talking to each other when (y/n) gets tugged back gently by Draco and she looks up at him. She looks around and hide in an empty hallway, unveiling her boyfriend.

"I have to go meet up with the others. Will you be ok?" he asks her, holding her cheeks softly and she nods.

"I'll be fine. I'll just show them the room." the Slytherin kisses his Puff sweetly. He didn't know how to feel but all he knew was that she was so brave and he commended her for it.

"I'll see you later tonight then." he kisses the top of her head once more before running off, the Hufflepuff quickly speed walking back to her friends and leads them to the Room.

"The Room of Requirement guys." she waves to the empty wall that soon reveals a door when she paced in front of it three times, quickly opening the door and letting them in to see the inside filled with duelling equipment. Hermione explained to the others what this room was, them looking around in awe.

"It's brilliant. It's like Hogwarts wants us to fight back." Ginny exclaim.

"Great work princess!" the twins grin happily, each kissing either side of (y/n)'s cheek which makes her blush red.

"Pop off it you two! She's with Draco!" Ron warns and Fred and George shrug.

"So? Doesn't mean she isn't our princess." the twins swoop her up onto their shoulders, carrying her out of the room with the others following her behind.

"Put me down you two!"
