Introduction: A Human Concept
Since the dawn of civilization, history comes along to be written in its godly library. History helps future generations to study and understand what or how far humanity and the world has come to be. One aspect is the Earth's sapphire waters. The planet was formed with land and water, to which changed throughout its birth and other significant events.
From the Pangea, a super-continent, turned to several continents due to the continental drift. The once massive ocean around the super-continet was now divided and was taken under these new continents, unknown for a certain future for both the continents and the divided oceans.
When humanity came, several aspects were born in order for society to work and thrive. In the aspect of using the seas as a way for further exploration and trade routes, humanity invented the use of naval travel by boats and sails.
Soon, boats become larger, faster, and was built with new forms of engineering and architecture in order to help in controlling the seas for trading resources to other nations.
This was the age of discovery. The Age of Discovery is the era of early human civilization in controlling the seas. Humanity set sail into the oceans with adventure in their hearts, discovering new land, resources, species, and other human civilizations. The seas were then given names for early humans to identify their location in the seas.
The Arctic Ocean from the North Pole, the Atlantic Ocean in the middle of empires, the Indian Ocean at the bottom of the Asian continent, the Antartic Ocean from the South Pole, and the massive blue ocean in the other side of the globe, the Pacific Ocean.
Early civilizations around the world named these oceans respectively. Their role was for both early civilizations to thrive, discover, and establish new kingdoms in their new-found discoveries thanks to the invention of ships. While there are five(5) oceans that are officially named, sailors during the age of discovery who liked the sense of danger and adventure made the figurative term, told as "the Seven Seas".
When times got tough on the Seven Seas, the sailors fought hard against the roar of thunder, storms, and the threat of sea monsters. Written in journals from every sailor and captain, each tells a tale of their journey across the ocean. All for their honor and glory under the flag they serve.
As early civilizations come and go, new nations rose to challenge the achievements of their formers. What also came and went is the age of discovery. When nations become empires, their navies were upgraded, as well as their roles. As adventure for disocvery and trade sailed from the oceans, a new desire sailed as well. Their hearts are soon filled with a new desire, a desire that will change the course of history. The desire, to conquer the seas.
After the Age of Discovery, a new age has begun, the Age of Early Naval Warfare.
In this age, peaceful nations have become empires with the government becoming hungry for power and resources to satisfy those of higher class and their own.
Another part for these empires is that they focused on territorial gain. Several wars between smaller nations and empires roared. Empires didn't just focus on territorial land, they also focused on gaining territorial waters. This is the reason why coastal towns are replaced with fortified naval ports and bases. These bases are built to facilitate their ships on both in trade routes and for naval defense and offense.
From battering rams to swords and cutlass. A battle within the Seven Seas in the Age of Piracy to control the seas and their territories across the world.
From just guns and muskets to large cannons that fire projectiles against another ship. Galleons on different empires faced each other, firing their cannons on port and starboard-side.
In the early age of naval warfare, that desire to become powerful and to conquer the seas has lead to heavy damages and high casualties on all players that partake in several wars. These empires have their collection of their strongest ships in the glory of the flag they served on. Resources and time are highly needed to create such a powerful ship that could be off advantage against their enemies.
Ships back then are built from wood and little steel. But with a rising number of metallic resources and experimenting a number of retrofits to naval use, the once wooden ships are now replaced. The ships are now built with strong metal, to which they can withstand cannon balls compared to the easily destroyed use of wooden infrastructure.
What came along the upgrading of ships is their use. Two ages came after the end of the Age of Early Navy Warfare. These ages coincide with each other before the era of the end came to be.
The Age of Transatlantic Discovery and the Age of Industrial Naval Warfare.
The Age of Transatlantic Discovery is when empires are still standing but in a more civilized and controlled environment. Coinciding the Industrial Revolution, the ships that are built with wood and steel are used in seperate roles, one of these roles is in passenger use. Because of the invention of the steam engine, bikes, trams, and early cars, ships are built for the requests of the human population in all classes. Passenger ships are built to which the most famous ships sailed throughout the Atlantic Ocean. These large steam ocean liners will soon become the modern-era cruise liner ships.
The Age of Industrial Naval Warfare is the empires' navies around the world discovering new ideas and inventions that can be implemented to the retrofitting and upgrading their current ships, as well as newly built ships with new naval technology. The ships had become larger and longer than former galleon ships. Built with the same length for ocean liners, they serve a different purpose. Armaments were also upgraded into new types of weapons, such as the more advanced cannons now placed in a turret, secondary turrets and AA guns.
Naval Warfare has changed throughout many centuries that have passed, empires rise and fall, several wars happened between nations, mostly in the continent of Europe.
It didn't take long when HMS Dreadnought was built, now known as the first true battleship set sails along with its many successors.
Throughout the history of naval warfare, several ships were built in several different roles for society to move as time goes on. New types of ships were built, the term warship is considered as part of the "ship" entity but its role was different. Warships are ships that are built to serve the nation they came from, manned by 10s to 100 men to serve on the warship.
However, peculiar events have happened since the end of the 2nd World War, the people, especially in their navy departments have sensed something that there is something strange with the several warships that they have built.
The concept of "human sympathy" towards ships isn't a new concept, considering that most sailors and captains, both past and present tend to call their ships by their names and their official-but-weird gender. It is quite odd when calling a ship or warship by a "he" or "she" considering that the ship is just an object not a person.
But early events back in 1941 suggests the possibility that ships have human emotions in secret, in the eyes of the sailors and commanders onboard.
Records of six men that joined the navy as warships was taken to light to add the history about these six men that fought valiantly in the 2nd World War. These six men are said to be known as, "human embodiments" the term used for sailors and commanders when they discussed the concept of a warship having emotions similar to human emotions.
An incident in the 1960s happened when the battleship USS MISSOURI went on a huge rampage in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Reports suggest that, due to its service as a protector to the Yorktown-class aircraft carriers, their scrapping might be the cause for the battleship to have a mental breakdown. Further studies suggest that this is one of the highly approved evidence of the HUMAN EMBODIMENT of a warship.
Further studies also suggest the possibilities that each and every warship throughout the early age until the current era have their own human embodiments.
Several tales and legends even say that some ships have anthromorphic characteristics.
Nations such as that of Japan, Korea, and China believed the concept. In their collaborative thesis volumes 1 and 2, they tackle the evidences that supports the existence of humans that were named after warships. They say that these human embodiments have the appearance and were designed to look different and advanced compared to normal appearances and designs.
Their history and their beliefs are given a few from the testimonies from war veterans onboard, several documentaries also suggest that these human embodiments may have a soul.
Similar to humans, these human embodiments can die through various means.
In this Naval Research Book, the thesis was proposed by the United Nations to further discuss and understand a more detailed explanation of evidences that supports the human embodiment concept. This was researched by the United States Navy to which several navies took in to collaborate and share their evidences to solidify the existence of such concept.
Games and media are also considered evidences. A game company, YOSTAR has made several gacha games that are popular in the current era of technology.
However, one game is the main focus that supports this thesis.
Released in 2017, Yostar's new gacha game, AZUR LANE, is a gacha game that focuses on naval warfare against the forces of evil known as the Sirens. Its content might be simple, but its lore is much deeper, but that's not the main focus for this thesis book.
The main focus is that AZUR LANE takes the "human embodiment" concept and turning it into a popular gacha game, not just because it is cutesy and its good, but because the characters are based on real-life warships. This means that the game also brings new naval enthusiasts that like Azur Lane and its real-life history.
In this research book, it is a collection of gathered evidence that solidifies the concept that ships have human emotions in the form of human embodiments. They also coincide with humans so it isn't a matter of containment as they're treated equal. Explained through supernatural, scientific, and paranormal means to understand its significant discovery for the future of mankind and its importance for future explorations across all current beliefs.
A collection of drawings will help in understanding the concept in a visual form.
