Liam shifted uncomfortably in the bed and threw the blanket off of him.
"Fuck"
He mumbled, eyes still closed.
"You good??"
Alex whispered behind him. Liam's eyes fluttered open.
"Yeah, just hot."
He sighed.
"Got you covered babe."
Alex rolled off the bed and flicked on the light switch, turning on the fan. Then He jumped back in. Liam groaned softy.
"Alex, you shouldn't have.."
"Why??"
Liam shivered.
"Now it's too cold!"
Alex laughed and wrapped his body around him, snuggling him close.
"Got you covered.."
Liam chuckled and kissed his arm.
"You're gonna be late for work if you don't get up and start getting ready now.."
Alex gripped him tighter.
"Who caaaarres~"
He whined.
Liam rolled his eyes and wiggled out of his grip.
"I care, and your boss will definitely care.."
Liam hopped out of bed and stretched.
"Liam it's too eaaaarlyyy."
He whined again.
"Too bad! come on, go get ready while I make breakfast."
Alex huffed and threw the blankets off of him. Then he smirked.
"I'd rather have my breakfast now actually."
"...well, I haven't made it ye- ALEX!!"
Alex grabbed Liam's waist and threw him back onto the bed, pressing his hands against his back.
"Alex....stop.."
Liam panted out.
Alex rolled his eyes and got off him.
"You're no fun.."
Liam sat up and ran off the bed and out of the room, laughing. Alex gasped and ran after him.
"Get back here!!"
Liam hid behind the couch and covered his mouth. However he forgot about Mochi, who was napping behind there as well. She yawned and looked over to him. He raised a finger to his lips. Alex ran into the living room.
"Liam! Where are you! I'm not finished with you yet!!"
Liam held in his laughter. Mochi sat up and stretched, making her way to Liam. He shook his head.
"No mochi!"
He whispered.
Mochi licked the fingers that tried to push her away, and then started to rub herself against his arm.
"Mochi!!"
Mochi meowed and purred.
"Do you want Alex to find me?!"
"TOO LATE!!"
"AHH!"
Liam tried running again, but strong arms held him down.
"You're a bad boy Liam, running from me like that."
"Ngh! Get off!! I'm sorry!"
Alex ignored his remorse and forced his legs apart.
"Are you seriously about to fuck me in front of a cat?!?!!"
Alex's eyes widened and he looked over to Mochi who was grooming herself.
"Good point..."
"Yeah.."
"Guess you'll have to wait until after I come home."
Alex let go of his legs and helped him up.
"Oh yeah...uh, about that. When you come home I- I have to talk to you about something..."
Liam looked down and rubbed his shoulder. Alex's eyebrows furrowed with worry.
"Is everything okay??"
"I-I'll tell you later."
He kissed him on the cheek.
"Now go get ready."
Alex huffed and marched back to his room. Liam smiled in amusement.

About 30 minutes later, Alex had already gone to work, leaving Liam alone with nothing but his thoughts, and Mochi. He was sprawled on the couch, reading a turf war magazine.
"I'm sooo borrredd."
He sang out. Then he quirked an eyebrow.
"Hey wait, why do I feel like I've read this before??"
As if to answer him, the doorbell rang Suddenly. He put the magazine down and walked over to the door.
"Hello??"
He opened it slightly. An inkling girl with messy green tentacles was holding a stack of papers in her hands. She looked up and gasped.
"I-it's you!!"
"Hey! I haven't seen you in awhile."
Liam smiled and opened the door fully.
"O-oh uhm sorry."
She blushed.
"I-I didn't know you're new apartment address.."
"Oh right, sorry. I guess I forgot to tell everyone I moved."
Liam laughed. She giggled and blushed harder.
"So how have you been Liam??"
"Fine thanks, how about you, uhh"
"You can call me Melon!"
She smiled.
"So far I haven't really been having a good day, I guess I used up all of my good luck. But seeing you again made it a bit more brighter."
She said as she rapped her fingers against the stack of magazines. Liam rubbed the back of his head.
"T-thanks! That's really sweet. Again, I'm sorry that I forgot to tell you I changed apartments.."
She blinked in realization.
"Wait, why did you move anyway??"
"Oh, well you see, me and m-"
"Wait!! Before I forget, here's this weeks copy of the official turf war magazine. I um, I think I gave you last weeks copy by a mistake.."
He gladly took the magazine from her.
"Don't worry about it, thanks!"
She blushed and nodded. Then proceeded to walk away.
"Hey, Where's your hat??"
He blinked and touched her head.
"Oh right, I went and lost the darn thing. A gust of wind blew it right off my head. I know I look rediculou-"
"No! I like it like that."
He smiled.
"I'll see you around! Bye."
He waved at her. She blushed and her eyes widened.
"G-goodbye."
She ran down the hall, holding her face. Liam sighed and closed the door. He threw the book down on the table and decided to take a walk. He paced around Inkopolis plaza, Trying to take his mind off of what he had to say to Alex, but he was so nervous.
"How am I going to tell him...I don't want him to be mad."
He stopped and leaned against one of the trees.
"Why is life so hard..."
He felt something brush against his arm and looked over to a bobble hat that was stuck on one of the protruding branches. He gasped lightly and grabbed it.
"This must belong to- Hey! Melon!!"
He saw the familiar light Green haired Inkling girl wondering the Plaza. She looked around for the source of the noise.
"W-wha- oh! Liam!"
She walked over to him with her hands folded in front of her. Liam held out the Hat in her direction.
"I found your hat!"
He smiled as she took it.
"Y-you really did find it, thank you so much.."
She put it on her head and smiled. Then she looked at Liam and frowned.
"Is everything okay?"
He asked worriedly. She shook a little and sighed.
"N-no. I have to tell you something Liam.."
"What is it?"
He put a hand on her shoulder. She blushed and stared into his eyes.
"I-I like you! Okay! Ever since we met you've been so nice to me. No one has ever been so kind and sweet to me... You even complimented my hair. Everytime I think about you I feel my heart jump, s-so...I think I do like you...."
Her face was red and her hands we're balled into fists at her sides. Liam was frozen where he stood, eyes wide an mouth gaping.
"M-Melon I-"
Her eyes brightened.
"I'm sorry..."
Her brows furrowed and she felt her stomach drop.
"W-wha-"
"I'm already in a relationship, I have a boyfriend.."
Tears were whelling up in her eyes and Liam could almost hear her heart shatter.
"No, I-I- I'm sorry!"
She sobbed out and ran in the other direction. Liam tried calling out to her but she was too devastated to even look back. He frowned and felt light tears build up in his own eyes.
"I'm sorry."
He said under his breath. He wiped his eyes on his sleeve and headed home. He shut the door behind him and made for the living room.
"Liam!! You're back!"
Alex jumped from his seat and went to go greet him. He gave him a kiss and a hug.
"How was your day? What did you do??"
Liam huffed and leant into his chest.
"Today has been an absolute mess..."
He felt a stray tear roll down his cheek. Alex kissed it away and grabbed his chin.
"Tell me what happened."
"No, first I have some bad news to tell you.."
"Like what?"
Liam stepped back and took a deep breath.
"I'm leaving.."
