Dream Away

Jack P.O.V
...

I knew I was dreaming. How many times could I see the same picture over and over without it being a dream? Well, whilst I saw them in my dreams, I knew it was my memories. I could remember everything down to the touch and smell.

Every flash of my memories would come back one after another. From me hanging upside down in a tree, showing off to my sister and her friends. Shadow puppets with my sister and who I can only assumed is my friend. She's in all my memories. Honestly, I'm kinda in love with her.

Only problem was, I couldn't really see her properly. It's like the memory was trying to be blocked, but here's what. I could make out.

Her name was Tala. She had long brown hair, braided into two plats. It reached down to her waist.

She wore brown, tattered clothes. She never stayed in the village, but she has these stunning brown eyes. It was like staring into a dark spiral or void. Every time I looked at her...I was lost. Her eyes shone through all the distortion. She looked like a hundred different faces all at the same time. But those eyes were always the same.

I don't know what relationship we had, but I would fall for that girl in an instant.

The scene changed, it was us again. oThe three of us. Flee was jumping around, skating and Tala was back on shore, sitting in a tree. I would smile and wave to her, and she'd just laugh and smile back.

She was beautiful. And I was in love with the girl in my dreams. But, well, she's gone. But that's ok, I can see her when I sleep.

It gave me the warm feeling inside looking at how happy my sister was. She was giggling, smile, just being a kid.

I love her. I miss her...I hope she's doing well in the afterlife.

"Jack!" Flee called out, "Look at this!" She began skating on one leg like I do, "See? I can do it too!"

I noticed Tala watching Flee carefully, as if something was wrong. Flee would be the first one she'd save if something was to ever go wrong. She had that animal instinct.

Well, she has the most confusing past I've ever seen. My village found her when she was younger, that would have been years ago at this point. But, she was animalistic. She knew how to use a bow and arrow like a goddess and was pretty handy with a sword. But no one knows how or why.

She always lurked around the village, curious until my father went and caught her.

Well, as cruel as that sounds, it was fine he raised we, taught her how to speak, and she became my best friend.

For the first time watching this memory, I noticed something different.

At this point I'd usually begin to focus on my sister, but Tala's expression changed. There was anger and worry in her eyes. She stood up quickly, watching something on the other side of the lake.

But I didn't expect to see what I did.

It was her...Lillyana...

The look on her face, it was a smirk. Her arms were folded in front of her, but that smirk just got to me. It was evil. The look in her eyes was there to match.

She took a step onto the ice, eyes never dropping that almost evil glint. Her focus wasn't on me, nor was it on Tala...it was on Flee.

Those green eyes were just watching her every glide. Before she grinned, baring her almost fan like teeth...

Her foot glowed in a bright light, before she slammed into onto the ice.

Crack

My stomach dropped hearing that all too familiar sound. Flee hadn't noticed, but I could see the cracks forming around her feet.

She stomped again.

Crack

Flee stopped in her tracks, suddenly noticing that the ice was getting thinner, and cracking away under her feet. The look in her eyes just seemed to stab me in the heart.

"It's ok, just..." I swallow the lump in my throat, "just don't look down."

"Jack... " she whispered, her little brown eyes looking at me with so much fear. "I'm scared."

She brought back my attention. She was frozen in fear.

"I know...I know..." I say looking straight in her eyes. I noticed that Tala had jumped from her tree was was making her way onto the ice. "You're gonna be alright, you're not gonna fall in."

These words are on auto pilot out of my mouth. I know what's coming, I know she's going to be fine...but I've never noticed that Lilly was there.

"We're gonna have a little fun instead."

There's that line.

"No!" She panicked feeling the ice crack under her feet more, "we're not!"

I smiled at my sister, "Would I trick you?"

Her answer was always the same, "Yes! You would! You always do!"

"Well, not this time," I let off a small laugh, before looking back at where Lily was. She was gone. "I promise, I promise, you're gonna be fine."

Tala kept creeping forward, being careful not to crack the ice anymore. Her gaze was quickly shifting between flee and I. She used her foot to slide crooked stick closer to me. Just as she always did.

"You have to believe in me." I told my sister, smiling to keep her mind off it all, "You want to play a gaame? We're gonna play hop, like we play every day!" I spy the crook in the corner of my eye and begin to move towards it, "it's as easy as...one." I flail about trying to make her laugh. And I did. For the second last time. "two, three."

I crouch down, grabbing the crook, "Alight, now your turn. One, two." She takes a few steps forward, with the ice cracking under each step, before I grabbed her. "three."

She slid across the ice to safety, smiling and giggling as i fell back where she was before.

Then it broke.

The cold pirecd my skin as I heard the two female scream my name, "JACK!"

All I could see wa the ice, and the moon. Just as always...

Wait...what?

ususally this is when i wake up. But instead, Lillyana stood in front of the moon, blocking it out.

"Well, I was after her...but I guess you'll do too." She bared her fangs at me, with a menacing grin, "I'll see you on the other side Frost. I can't wait to see what you bring to the fight."

...

Her green eyes. That was the first thing I saw. Similar, yet different to the ones I was just staring at.

"You're..." Those eyes glowed with excited me, "You're awake!"

I am going to kill her...
