Felix's POV

The blond chick was staring daggers at me. Apparently my flirty ways were not appreciated. Oh well. She was hot at least so that took away the sting of her attitude. Her two friends (the pale chick in the band tee with the black bob and the very very feminine looking dude with the brown hair) were looking between the blond and me with weird looks on their faces. Finally the blond thrust out her hand.
"It's nice to meet you Felix. My name is Adrina." She said, still sort of distrustful. Maybe yanking her into a room and tying her friends to a desk wasn't the best course of action. Live and learn. I shook her hand and looked at her friends.
"I'm Megan." The pale chick said.
"Ashton." So the feminine dude really is a dude. Ok. I smiled at them and winked at Megan.
"Pleasure to meet you." I said to Ashton and Megan, smirking. "You're lucky to have such an attractive friend." I said to them, gesturing to Adrina. Her face grew red and I couldn't tell if it was from embarrassment or anger. Ashton started flailing his arms towards Adrina frantically.
"See?!? I told you you were attractive! And you didn't believe me!" He said excitedly. Adrina rolled her eyes at her friend.
"Whatever. I bet he's just saying that so I don't kill him for kidnapping y'all." She said, glaring at me again. Ashton crossed his arms with a huff.
"Why can't you just take a complement sweetheart?" I asked her, rubbing my forehead. Adrina elbowed me in the ribs.
Damn..... I thought. I winced. I looked like I was just in slight pain, but I was dying on the inside. THIS BITCH HAS SHARP ELBOWS HOLY SHIT! HOW THE FUCK ARE ELBOWS THAT SHARP EVEN POSSIBLE?!?
Before I could get my shit together, a dude burst through the door, blonde hair flying as he gasped.
"You-you gotta-" he managed to get out before he passed out. The four of us just looked at him.
"I didn't do it!" Ashton yelped.
"Of course you didn't, you were standing right here." I said, slightly annoyed. Adrina glared at me, before running over to put the blonde guy in a chair. Before we could try to do anything to wake him up, another person ran through the door. She was kinda hot. Not that I was checking her out or anything. Adrina's eyed widened.

"Maggi? What're you doing?" Adrina asked the blonde girl. The girl, who was apparently named Maggi, started to try to stutter out an explanation.

"Monsters... Attacked me and that guy... Mr. Dunkel..." Was all she could manage before a giant monster with the head of a lion, a cobra for a tail, and a goat head on it's back came charging into the room. A name came into my mind ad I stared at it. Chimera.  At that moment, though we didn't know it then, Adrina, Ashton, Megan, the blonde boy, and I became connected. And at that moment, our destinies were connected.

"Chimera." We all said at once. Maggi ran behind the desk before saying,

"Who cares what it is? Run!" We just looked at her, confused. It didn't really register that there was a giant Chimera in the room about to pounce at us at the time, on account of them supposed to be a fictional creature. Well lucky for us, the Chimera chose then to attack.

It roared and ran at us. We gasped and jumped out of it's way, each of us going in a different direction. It ran straight into the wall, before turning towards Ashton. He gulped and started to back away with his hands out. The Chimera crouched and started to stalk towards him. He continued to back away from the beast, while talking.

"Hey there big monster Chimera thing... You maybe wanna not eat me? 'Cause that'd be great..." He rambled. He found himself in a corner and fell down against the wall and gulped. The Chimera reared up, ready to attack, when it received a kick to it's goat head, quickly followed by a chair smashed over it's lion head. I was surprised to see Adrina and Megan were the ones who attacked it.

"No one hurts our friend!" Adrina yelled. Megan started beating it with another chair as if the Chimera was responsible for My Chemical Romance breaking up. Adrina just started to punch the thing. Ashton stood up shaking before running back towards Maggi to catch his breath. I, not wanting to look like a wimp while the girls fought the monster for me, ran up to it and started to mess with the cobra.  I saw the goat head start to eat Megan's chair. I ran to her side and punched it. The goat, not the chair. She looked at me in surprise before saying a quick,

"Thanks man." And beating it with the metal leg from the desk. At that moment, I heard the lion roar and a scream. When I looked over, I saw the lion head biting Adrina's arm as she screamed. But before I could do anything, it was over. There had been three waves of water and a bright light and suddenly the Chimera had one less head. I looked and saw Adrina, Megan, and Ashton staring at it in shock. There was a bright flash and a warm feeling rushing through my body before what was left of the Chimera was on fire. We all watched as it burned to ashes.

Afterwards, we didn't have a chance to get our bearings before another figure came through the door. It was Mr. Dunkel, Adrina, Maggi and I's homeroom teacher. He looked at the ashes and looked at us, sighing. "Did you have to kill it?" He asked us, glaring. We were surprised, to say the least. He bent down and swept a hand over the ashes. They swirled upwards and into a jar he pulled out of his coat pocket. Mr. Dunkel examined them, his eyes widening. "You four?" He said in surprise. "All in one place? This is too easy." He started laughing.

"What's so funny?" Megan said suspiciously. He ignored her and continued to laugh, to the point of tears. We looked at each other and were about to try to figure out what to do about our bizarre homeroom teacher, when the blonde boy stood up and grabbed us, pulling us back.
"Hey! What're you doing?" Adrina asked him angrily. Mr. Dunkel looked up and gave a twisted smile.

"Ah, Matt. It's good to have you join us!" he said in a sinister voice. He started to walk towards us dragging his cane on the ground behind him. "You know, you really have made this easier on me. Now I don't have to hunt the five of you down." Mr. Dunkel remarked. What? What was he talking about? What did he want from us? I couldn't figure it out. "Now..." Mr. Dunkel had stopped walking, and was standing with his head down, like he was waiting for something to happen. "I can kill you all right here!"  He lifted his head to reveal a twisted smile that seemed too wide for his face, and an insane look in his eyes. We were all shocked, and Maggi screamed. That's right, I thought. Maggi's here.

I don't know why that was the first thing I thought, but in hindsight I guess I knew she would be important to us. Mr. Dunkel lifted his arms, and it seemed like the shadows themselves were surrounding him, like a tornado of darkness. He started to levitate off the ground and slowly began to spin, laughing again, but this time, more sinister. I started to loose hope. Sadness washed over me like a tsunami, and I realized everything was out of my control. Why fight it? He seemed determined to kill us and we were just a bunch of stupid kids. As I started to sink to my knees to accept my inevitable end, a voice like sunshine rang through my head.

Don't give up, Felix! You must stay determined! Fight the darkness, and show this horrid man the light within you! I looked up at the others, and saw them resisting. Matt was struggling, but remained standing. Ashton was holding his head in his hands, cringing in concentration. Megan was standing up with tears streaming down her face. And, most surprising, not only was Adrina still standing; she was smiling. She was beaten, bleeding, about to die, and she was still smiling. How? She began to laugh. Not a creepy laugh, or a sarcastic laugh, but a genuine joyful laugh. It was beautiful. Like a bell on a Christmas decoration. It made me smile a bit. And then, she opened her mouth, and sang.

Her song didn't have any words, just a string of beautiful notes that seemed to case away the sadness. It resonated off the walls, and brought joy. I soon found it easy to stand and face Mr. Dunkel. And it seemed the others did too. Even Maggi came out of her hiding spot. Ashton, Matt, Megan and I stood up and walked to Adrina's side. We looked at each other and nodded.
Do it now, everyone! The voice said. We all raised our hands and Adrina started to glow. I felt the heat again, flowing through my veins, heading towards my hands. And as Adrina finished the last note of her song, it burst out. A steady stream of fire from me, water from Adrina, Ashton, and Megan, and vines from Matt. They all twisted together and barreled towards Mr. Dunkel, hitting him and exterminating the darkness. He screamed and fell to the ground; unconscious and no longer a threat. I felt light headed and golden dust came off of all of us, collecting together to form a beautiful girl with brown hair, green eyes, and wings. She beckoned to us and we all went to her, including Maggi.
"Quickly, before he comes to his senses!" She said, grabbing us all. We were instantly teleported outside. "It's not safe for you here anymore. You must come with me, for it is time for your quest to begin."
