Adrina Ashton and Megan

-•Adrina's POV•-
Ugh. School. I thought as I walked through the doors. It was the first day of my freshman year of Highschool. I hadn't been anything special in the eyes of my classmates ever since I moved her the summer before 3rd grade. I mean, sure, I was know as that one weird girl who is a freakishly fast swimmer, but that doesn't account for much. It only confused people more after I told them I wouldn't swim competitively like my sisters. They didn't understand the way the water made me feel. Oh well. I only really need my two best friends.
I only have two friends at the moment. Megan and Ashton. I met them in 6th grade and we had been inseparable since. We all loved water. I liked to swim in it, Megan liked to drink it, and Ashton liked it when it would rain. We're just a bunch of lunatics.
But who knows. I thought as I walked up to the open doors of GBHS. Maybe this year I'll actually be someone special.
"Hey! Adrina! Over here!" I heard someone call my name. I looked up and saw Megan waving at me. I smiled and ran over to her. Ashton wasn't with her.
"Hey Megan." I said. She looked at me closely.
"Are you sure you're Adrina? Ash isn't with you for once." She said, kinda skeptical. It's true. Megan and I are pretty close, but Ashton and I are practically inseparable. So it was natural for Megan to be surprised that Ashton wasn't with me. I rolled my eyes.
"Yes Megan. It's me." She gasped. Literally. She put her hand to her chest and actually said,
"Le Gasp!" I have weird friends. Suddenly I felt a pair of arms around my neck and a weight on my back. Instinctively I grabbed the legs that were around my waist. Speaking of weird friends...
"Yo dudes!" The person on my back yelled. I laughed and turned my head to face the mystery person.
"Hey Ashton." Megan and I said. He smiled and I dropped him. He landed on the ground with a thud. We looked at him and burst out laughing.
Ashton had landed on the ground with one leg bent over the other, one hand on the ground behind him holding him up, and the other behind his head. His face held what he probably assumed was a seductive expression. A suitable way to land for my friend who was the self proclaimed, "Gayest Gay To Ever Gay." But actually, Ash wasn't completely gay. He was actually Bisexual. But enough about my best friend's sexuality because that's not important! Anyways after we finished laughing Megan and I helped him up.
"Good to see you Ash." I said. I hadn't seen him all summer because he had moved. We had all thought that Ashton wouldn't be able to go to Galveston Bay High School because of it, but luckily they moved close enough that Ashton could go to Highschool with us. We all walked toward the school and started to talk about our summers.
Megan had gone to a camp for a month. That surprised us because her general attitude is "ew humans" and she spent most of her time up in her room watching Anime and reading Homestuck. Which was why her mother decided to send her out to nature for a month.
Ashton had spent the summer hanging out with his sisters Lilah and Leah and his brother Josh.
I spent mine in Mexico for a week, a week of camp, and swimming a lot in my Grandma's pool.
As we walked inside, I thought I felt someone's eyes on me. It was kind of unsettling and a chill washed over me. I turned around to yell at the creep, but no one was standing there. Ashton put a hand on my shoulder.
"Hey are you ok?" He asked me.
The feeling faded and I shook my head. "I'm fine. Just thought that someone was staring at me." He smiled.
"Well of course someone would be staring at you. You're cute!" That was one of the things about Ashton that annoyed me. He always called me cute.
"I AM NOT CUTE DARN IT I AM FREAKIN HOT!" I yelled in annoyance. They laughed and we walked inside.
Still, I couldn't forget that feeling of sheer cold and terror that had come over me that morning. Later I would wish I hadn't brushed it off as nothing. But I would have to wait to see why.

Hello reader! Thanks for reading the first official chapter of my novel! It'll get lots better and might not have as many authors notes as the book continues. So... Thanks!
