Chapter 3: Old Friend
"We'll wait out here for you," Kai spoke as him and Liam sat on the chairs outside the administrator office. I nodded before walking in and closing the door behind me.
I looked to see Mr. Brown sitting by a huge office desk that had some papers on it. I looked to see Ethan was sitting in the chair that was in front Mr. Brown's desk. I looked to the side of the room to see a lady in her late 40's standing up.
"Ms. Grinsly," Mr. Brown stood up and stuck his hand out.
"Mr. Brown," I greeted back as I shook his hand. He then gestured me to sit in which I did. I looked over to Ethan to see his lip was busted a little. It was clear to tell he was pissed off.
"I'm sorry to disturb your studies for this," he apologized as he shuffled through some papers.
I shook my head, "It okay."
"Right well let us begin. Your brother here started a fight with some student in the classroom. Professor Dane here saw the whole thing as she was teaching the class. Professor," Mr. Brown gestured her to take over. He gave him a small smile before walking forward to me.
I was teaching and heard some laughter coming from across the room. I looked to see it was the student Ethan had tackled. The student was looking at something on his phone saying 'He's stupid' and then proceeded to swear. Ethan who was next to him snapped and tackled the guy to the floor. I got to admit, for someone who's 13 years old, he can pack a punch. The student he tackled was 20 years old. The guy was able to get a few punches in before the fight was broken up," she exclaimed.
I turned to look at Ethan, "Why did you tackle him?"
"He was making fun of someone who was disable in a video," he hissed.
Mr. Brown nodded, "We confirmed he is correct but it doesn't give him the right to tackle students. We have a policy in this University and it's not going to look good if we allow this act."
"I agree, it doesn't give him the right," I stated as I looked from Ethan to Mr. Brown, "But you can not kick him out the school. I know this is personal and there are rules but his academic records is outstanding for his age. You can't kick him out," I tried to plead.
Ethan let out a scoff, "I don't care. Kick me out. This means nothing for me and I would kick that guy's ass all over again if I had too," he scoffed.
My eyes widened at his response, "Ethan!" I shrieked.
"What?!" he hissed.
I glared at him, "Go wait outside."
"NO! I'm not going to -"
"NOW!" I gritted my teeth at him.
He let out a growl before getting up. He snatched his bag from the side of the chair and walked out the room with of course slamming the door shut.
I looked to Mr. Brown, "I am so sorry about what has happened today. I swear he's never act like this before. It's just been hard on him," I sighed.
"Hard on him?" Mr. Brown asked.
I nodded, "We lost a good friend a few months ago. I thought it was a teenage phase he was going through but now I'm starting to think otherwise," I informed him.
He nodded in understand.
"Here's what we're planning to do. Ethan will remain enrolled in school but under a cost. I will mark this as a warning. If it happens again, we're kicking him out and taking away his scholarship," he explained.
"Thank you so much. I will make sure it doesn't happen again," I promised him. He nodded and stood up before shaking my hand again. "Make sure," he spoke in a firm tone to which I nodded.
I turned to Professor Dane and shook her hand. "I am truly sorry about this," I apologized for Ethan. She gave me a small smile and nodded. I grabbed my back and walked out the room before closing the door behind me.
I looked across from me to see Ethan was slouched in the chair as he was on his phone. Kai was sitting next to him and Liam was leaning against the wall. Kai quickly stood up as he saw me. "What happened?" he asked in a soft tone.
I angrily walked over to Ethan and snatched his phone from his hand causing to bolt up out of his seat. "Give me my phone," he growled.
I took the phone in both hand and used my powers and I bend it and quickly snapped it in half. "Now you have two iPhones," I hissed as him as I shoved the two pieces in his hand.
"FREYA!" Ethan screamed.
"Walk!" I growled at him pointing to the elevator. He rolled his eyes and mumbled something under his breath as he started to walk. Kai and Liam stared at me in shock before walking up next to me as I walked behind Ethan. The elevator opened revealing a guy clutching his bloody nose. His glare landed on Ethan and it was obvious this was the guy Ethan had tackled.
"Get in the elevator," I ordered Ethan.
He shook his head and folded his hands across his chest. "I'm not getting in there with him," he hissed.
"Ethan, you get your ass in that elevator or so help me God I will drag you in there myself," I hissed at him. He seem to have taken the hint because he got in and stood the furthest away from the guy. I got in along with Kai and Liam.
I pushed the lobby floor and the door closed.
"You know, you're lucky he's just a child," the guy spoke out loud.
"Child or not, I would still kick your ass again," Ethan snickered.
I rolled my eyes and turned to look at both of them. "Look, I'm honestly tried and sick of this shit. You shouldn't be making fun of disable people," I spoke looking at the guy then turned to look at Ethan, "And you shouldn't be jumping people like that. You both are at fault so just suck it up and move the fuck on," I growled annoyed at the situation.
The guy scoffed, "May he should've mind his fucking business and that does the same for you."
My fist tightened in anger and the doors opened. We all got out the elevator expecting for the guy. Before he could exit, I quickly focus and closed the elevator doors to slam shut. The emergency alarm went off and from the side of my head I could see Kai shaking his head as he knew what I did.
We walked out the building and headed to the parking lot. As I walked to my car, I saw Ethan was heading over to Kai who was going to drive home with his car. "You're not getting away from this lecture," I hissed at Ethan as I grabbed his shirt and yanked him towards my car. He let out a scoff and got into the passenger's seat.
I got into the driver's seat and pulled out the parking lot heading home. "Ethan, what's going on?" I asked frustrated by his recent behavior.
He sat quiet as looked out the window.
I let out a sigh, "Is this about Victor?" I asked glimpsing over to him.
He tensed up in his seat as I mentioned Victor's name. "Look, I know this must be hard on you, it is on me too but it gives you no excuse to act out like that. I know -"
"You don't know anything," he hissed.
My hands gripped the steering wheel at his response. "Ethan, I am trying to be calm and reasonable with you but you're making this hard for me," I calmly replied.
He shrugged, "Don't care. Who's the guy with Kai?" he asked changing the subject.
I let out a sigh, "His name is Liam. He's a friend of Kai and just start school -"
"I don't like him," Ethan bluntly responded. My eyebrow rose, "Why not? You haven't even properly met him," I spoke.
Ethan turned to look at me with his eyes narrowed on me. "He seems like a prick and I don't get good vibes from him," he spoke. My eyebrow rose, "You never get good vibes from people," I replied.
"Have I ever been wrong anytime I tell you I get a bad vibe?" he asked. I slowly shook my head. "Point proven," he mumbled.
"Well, you're going to have to get use to him. He looked like he'll be hanging around for a while. Him and Kai look like they had some issues though," I informed him.
Ethan's eyebrow rose, "What type of issues?"
I shrugged, "Not sure. Kai seemed a bit pissed off when he saw Liam entering the class. He asked him why he was here but Liam just said education but judging by Liam's actions, he's not hear for education."
"What actions?" Ethan asked.
"Well, he calls me shortcake, cupcake and likes to smirk and wink at me. He's also very touchy around me. I don't like it and before you ask, yes I told him to stop but he ignored," I explained.
My eyebrow furrowed up, "He touched you?"
"It's fine. Next time he does I'll smack him or something," I gave him a small smile. "How about you just kick him in the balls?" Ethan chuckled causing me to chuckle.
"That works too," I informed him.
The car drifted off into complete silence and I saw Ethan was looking down at his broken phone in his hand. "You kind of deserved that," I informed him.
"I know," he agreed. He placed the two half's of the phone on his lap and shoved them together. The phone reconnected itself as Ethan was using his powers. "Are you going to listen?" I asked.
He nodded his head, "Yes and sorry for acting out. I know you've had it hard as well and this doesn't make it easier."
"As long as you promise to behave, you're forgiven," I stated with a smile.
A smile then twitched up on his lips as he nodded his head. "Deal," he replied.
"Great and you're not kicked out from school. Mr. Brown just gave you a warning and said if you do it again, you're getting kicked out and your scholarship will be taken away," I explained.
Ethan let out a sigh, "Good and thank you for everything."
"Of course little brother. Now that that's out of the way, mind telling me how you managed to take down a grown man?" I asked causing him to chuckle.
"That my sister, is a secret you will one day find out," he replied laughing. I shook my head, "Fine. Since we were suppose to go to our next class but didn't cause someone got into a fight and caused chaos, do you want to grab some Subway before heading home?"
He sent a glare at me, "That sentence was very specific and of course."
I shot him a smile and turned at a green light heading to the nearest Subway. "Text Kai and -"
"Couldn't he just figure it out himself," Ethan groaned as he pulled out his phone. "Since when you had a thing against Kai?" I asked confused.
Ethan let out a sigh, "For a while now. Everyone has been pissing me off," he mumbled as he was texting Kai.
"Awe, you piss me off too," I added causing him to roll his eyes.
I looked ahead and felt my body tingling as I came to a stop at a red light. I casually looked around and my eyes widened along with my heart dropping as I saw a familiar face.
"Victor?" I mumbled in confusing as I was looking straight across the street to my left. Just 30 feet away, I could see him walking over to a car. His hair looked as soft as I remember with the shade of brown and his body was fit as well. I watched as he pulled out his phone from his pocket before quickly getting into the driver's seat.
I turned to Ethan who was staring at me a bit shock. "Did you see that? That guy looked like Victor," I shrieked pointing to the car that was parked to the left. Ethan shook his head, "That's not possible. Victor is dead," Ethan spoke in a blunt tone as he looked to where I was pointing. I examined Ethan for a second to see his phone was in his hand.
I looked back at the car and saw the driver's door opening again. A guy got out but it wasn't Victor. He took off his hoodie and threw it in the car before getting back in and closing the door.
"But I just saw him," I mumbled to myself as I was now becoming sad.
Had I officially lost my mind?
A car beeped their horn behind me as the light was now green. I let out a heavy sigh and drove down the street and took a turn as we parked in front the Subway. I passed Ethan a 20 dollar bill.
"Same as usual?" he asked. I nodded my head, "Yes please," I spoke.
He closed the door and I watched as he looked behind to were Kai was now pulling up. Liam got out and met up with Ethan as they walked in. I pulled out my phone and unlocked it to call Victor's number only to receive a busy tone. I hanged up and let out a sigh. Maybe I was going crazy but it didn't make sense. I know I miss him a lot and couldn't just imagine that. Then there's also the way Ethan replied to my reaction. He was to blunt about it as if it was nothing or normal. Something didn't feel right.
A few minutes past by and Ethan came back into the car with two cups of soda and the bag with the Subway sandwiches. "I got us some cookies as well," he informed me as he placed the rest of the change in my hand. I thanked him and placed the change in my bag before driving back to the house.
As we got to the house, Liam, Kai, Ethan and I spent the rest of our day in our living room talking and eating. As today was Thursday, it was our last day of class for this week. It was now night time and Kai and Liam were stepping out to come back. Ethan was also going to step out to meet with his friends.
"Didn't I ground you from going out yesterday?" I asked as I leaned against his bedroom door frame.
He nodded his head, "Yes but I will still go anyways and besides it's only to study and hang out with friends. Nothing dangerous," he reassured me.
"Right," I casually replied. "A 13 year old boy walking through the streets at night is normal. What can ever go wrong," I sarcastically replied.
"I know right," he mocked. I rolled my eyes, "I'm serious Ethan," I spoke in a firm tone.
He walked up to me and held my hand, "Look, I promise to come home early. Nothing's going to happen and besides, I got my powers to protect me," he informed me.
I let out a sigh, "That's not good enough. How about I start dropping you off there. It's just the library, I know but I -"
"Freya, I'll be fine. Trust me," he reassured me. I let out another sigh and nodded. He then hugged me to which I hugged him back. He finished got dressed and left the house. A few seconds passed by and I walked into the backyard. Focusing my powers, I called a fly at my service.
"Hello, my name is Chip," the tiny thing spoke in front me.
A smile rose to my lips as it sounds to cute. "Hi Chip, I'm sorry to disturb you but I need a favor."
"No need to be sorry. What can I do for you?" it spoke as it flew around in circles in front me.
"I need you to follow my brother to where he's going until he comes back home," I informed him.
"Of course," he spoke as he was now flying off over the house.
"Can we help too," a bunch of small voices came in front me. I turned to see about 4 other flies. "Sure," I smiled at them before they followed behind Chip.

Ethan's P.O.V
As I left the house, I walked down the driveway and headed down the street. I couldn't believe Freya is so worried about me. I understand why she's worried but lately she's been to paranoid of me but then I can't blame her. I've been acting out a lot. It's been a hectic month or months I should say. Now there's this Liam guy who shows up. Every time I'm near him, I get a bad feeling. I don't' like him at all. It's understandable why he's friends with Kai. Him and Kai are too similar.
I turned the corner into a dead end street to see a black SUV parked up. I made my way to the car and got into the back seat. The driver nodded to me in the rear view mirror to which I nodded back. He turned the engine on and did a 180 before taking off. After 40 minutes, the car came to a stop. I got out the car and walked through the ally way before walking up to a side entrance that was guard by some buff guy who went by the name Nev. He nodded to me and opened the door for me to walk in.
I walked in and then past some double doors. I walked into the elevator which had one button. I pushed it and the elevator went up to that floor. After a few second, it dinged open and I walked into the penthouse. Looking at it from the outside, you would think this was a shitty building but once you see the inside, it is the most stunning thing you've ever seen.
Walking further in, I saw some of the guys just lounging around. "I need someone to run these prints," I spoke pulling out a finger print that was on a piece of tape. It was Liam's fingerprint. After him and Kai left the house, I quickly dusted the bottle and took down his prints.
A guy stood up and took the tape before walking off. Footsteps entered the room from behind and I turned to see him standing in sweats and a white shirt.
"Ethan, my man," he hollered as he walked up to me.
A smirk rose to my face as we did a bro handshake. "Victor, the man," I replied causing him to chuckle.
"What's new?" he asked as he settled down on the couch. I sat on the couch across from him. "Not much," I shrugged.
His eyebrow rose, "Really? Heard you got into a fight," he spoke leaning back on the couch. I rolled my eyes, "Of course you did."
"Look kid, I know you're pissed at everything that has been happening but you can't make this hard on yourself nor on your sister. She's trying her best to raise you right and make sure your doing good," Victor spoke in a firm tone.
I let out a sigh, "I know. It's just so hard to act normal when we're basically living with Kai. The fucker basically lives with us and he's the one that shot you. Couldn't you just tell Freya and kill Kai?"
He shook his head, "Told you, it's not that simple. Freya would never believe me and -"
"Victor, we have proof. He lied about being a foster child. His parents are still alive, you got his DNA from the blood that was in the woods when you shot him and he literally has his own gang. What are you waiting for?" I asked cutting him off.
I rubbed the back of his head in frustration, "Just the right moment. If we spring this on her randomly, she might break and it may put her in harms way if she confronts Kai about it."
"So when exactly are you planning to tell her?" I asked. Footsteps enter the room and we both turned to see it was the guy I had given the finger print too. "Results," he informed me as he passed me the paper. I thanked him and took the paper from him before he walked away.
I started to read of from the paper. "I don't know. I have to figure out something quick. Maybe next month or something," Victor informed me.
"Well, you better do it fast because we've got another problem," I informed him causing his eyebrow to raised.
"Some guy name Liam just arrive in the City. I get a very bad vibe from him. Freya said that Kai and him are friends but it looks like they've got some problems on the low. He has the same cocky attitude Kai does but a bit more and you're not going to like this," I hissed as I passed him the paper.
He reached over and took it. I watched as he read it and tensed up all at once. I could sense the rage he was feeling and I couldn't blame him. I felt the same way.
"They're brothers," he growled as his eyes were now flaming with literal fire.
~~~~~~
Damn, Kai has a brother!
He's been lying to Freya and you all along and said he never had a family! Bet you didn't see that coming.
Hope you guys enjoyed the chapter. Love you all!!
