Chapter 15: Earth's Powercore

"Let your imagination run wild but not impossible. What do you see?"

"Darkness," I sarcastically replied.

Silence took over and I looked to see Ethan giving me a death stare. "Okay, okay. I'm not going to joke anymore," I mumbled as I closed my eyes again.

"I see nature. Trees of green and fields of flowers. I see a waterfall in the midst. On the other side of the waterfall there looks to be a cave. Everything looks so peaceful," I smiled as I looked around.

"What does it smell like?" he asked.

I took in the smell of the place. I stayed silent for a second as I tried to find the correct words. "It smells like... ocean breeze or even a coconut tropical smell in the mix. I could also smell the pollen from the flowers. I could smell the fresh water from the waterfall."

"What do you hear?"

"I hear the crashing of the water from the waterfall making its way into the lake. I could hear birds chirping and the leaves of the tree rustling against each other as the wind lightly blows."

"Touch?"

I reached out and touch the tree. "The tree feels rough but the flowers feel soft. The place feels cool despite how much sunlight is here. The water feels nice and cold."

"What about taste?"

"Taste?" I questioned. What was I supposed to taste?

"Energy. Taste the energy," Ethan huffed out.

"Ohh," I mumbled as I focused and took in the environment's energy. "It feels rich and moist. Like energy, I haven't had before. I feel different," I informed him.

"Good. Now focus on Earth's energy. Put your hands in the soul and feel its wavelength. Feel its power and connect with it on a much deeper level," he softly spoke in my ear.

Aligning myself with the universe, I focused all my strength on reaching that power. A ball of light formed in front of me in the middle of the lake. It was the universe energy. Walking towards it, I reached out to grab it but I was too far. Walking into the water, I started to sink as I got closer to the ball of light. The ball of light felt warm and shined like a star, like a miniature sun but the color of white.

As I was about to touch it, I felt myself becoming stuck in the water. My body was starting to sink into the water as if it was quicksand. I pushed myself to use my powers to reach it but I could. With every ounce of strength, I let out a grunt as I stretched out my arm to touch the ball of light.

"I-I can't touch it," I choked out as I was now sinking. My head went under the water and within a blink, I was back to my spot standing in front of the lake. The ball of energy was still in the middle of the lake. Taking a few steps back, I took in a breath and charged full speed only to get stuck in the same spot. I went under the water again before finding myself back on the shore again.

Looking around, I decided to climb the waterfall since it wasn't that tall. My plan was to run full speed and jump on the ball of energy. Running full speed, I leaped off from the waterfall and found myself falling on top of the energy ball. As I got a foot away from it, it flared up before blasting me back causing me to hit the waterfall before finding myself back on the shore.

Letting out a growl, I opened my eyes to see Ethan shouting at me.

"What the hell was that about? I've been talking to you for the past 10 minutes. You've been mentally gone and your nose and eyes are bleeding," he shrieked in concern.

I stood up and turned around to see the guys were sitting down in the grass waiting for me. Shock overcame their faces as they looked upon mine.

"Did you get it?" Ethan asked from the side of me.

I turned to send him a glare, "Does it look like I got it," I gestured to my body, "I tried. I honestly tried every outcome. I saw it but couldn't reach it excepting one time. When I did reach it, it blasted me away. I'm trying to save the world here and the universe is just telling me to fuck off," I screamed from the top of my lungs as I walked back into the house. I washed the blood from my face out in the kitchen sink and turned around to see the guys just standing around alone with Victor.

I let out a tired sigh, "Please, stop following me. It's annoying and not the safest thing."

Leo shrugged, "We're going to die anyway so what's the point?"

"Thanks for the confidence," I mumbled.

"What do you mean it blasted you away? What did the energy look like?" Ethan asked as he teleported in front of me.

I shrugged, "I don't know and it was like a miniature sun but white. It was in the middle of the lake I picture myself at," I explained.

Ethan started to think before pulling up a search engine. He typed some stuff in before showing me an image. "Is this the place you were at?" he questioned.

My eyebrow rose as I slowly nodded, "Yes. How did you figure that out?"

"Well, I cross-reference everything you described. This is about 20 minutes away which makes sense now. It's the center of the Earth!" he shrieked as he figured it out.

I shook my head, "That's impossible. The North Pole is the center of the Earth," I corrected.

"Yes, to the normal human eye but if you were to tilt Earth so the North and South Pole was on the side, we would end up at that location. The North is the normal center of the Earth but Earth's true center is at that lake. Your mind didn't come up with that image on its own. You're connected to Earth at a certain limit so Earth revealed its power core. We need to go there now," Ethan spoke as he ran out of the room. I ran out of the room and headed outside to see Ethan was gone. The sun was also rising and the stars were now out.

"What's wrong?" a voice came behind me. I turned to see it was the guys including Victor. "Get in," I ordered them as I walked up to the car. I started it up and hopped in the driver's seat before everyone got in. As they got in, I powered up the GPS to lead us to the location before speeding off.

"Okay, well since we're together, I'll keep you up to pace. I could speak to Ethan's spirit. Liam has the weapon in another dimension. He caused a split in time and reality which is why the sky is changing constantly. I have to access the universe's energy in order to get my hands on the weapon since I can't form portals and Liam is stronger than me. It's confusing but eventually, this will all be over soon," I sighed as I was extremely tired.

"Look, I know I was wrong for keeping Ethan -"

"Please, now is not the time. Ethan is still here so let's just focus on what we have now," I spoke in a monotone as I cut Victor off. He nodded his head and sat back in his seat. Within a couple of minutes, we arrived at the location. Parking on the side of the street, the guys and I got out before running into the wood. After about 5 minutes of running through the wood, we ran into the lake.

Ethan was by the shore of the water sitting around. The place was exactly as I had seen it in my vision. As I got closer, Ethan turned around and let out a scoff, "Took you long enough!"

I rolled my eyes and walked in front of him, "I didn't want to leave them behind. So what now? I just walk in?" I asked.

He shook his head, "Not exactly. I did some research and judging by my results, you're going to have to die to get the power. I mean fully die. Become immortal and gain energy. A soul is needed to be sacrificed in order to get another soul, or in this case, Earth's energy. Once getting that energy, it will allow you to unlock the universe energy," he informed him.

I let out a groan of annoyance, "There's always a trick to this. Also, I can't die. Liam had shot me before in the heart and I woke up right after and how do you know I need to die in order for me to get the energy? " I asked a bit confused.

"It doesn't matter. Earth will kill you no matter what as a sacrifice and I know this from your vision. Each time you tried to reach the energy, it killed you," he informed me.

"Alright. So I need to die, get its energy, and everything will work out after that?" I tried to remind myself but it came out as a question. I stepped a foot in the water to feel it was cool.

"Correct."

"There's no way I'm letting you die!" Victor shouted behind me. I turned around to see him marching up to me.

The place rumbled and the water rippled. In the center of the lake, we all watched as the ball of white energy rose out of the middle of the lake and hovered above the waters just 5 inches from touching it.

"I have to do this," I softly spoke as I turned to look at Victor. He shook his head, "No you don't. I'll do it. I wouldn't let you die," Victor cupped my face before walking into the water.

"NO! He can't do it. He'll permanently die," Ethan warned.

I grabbed Victor's hand and pulled him back. "This is not your destiny. This is mine and you're not going to be able to come back alive. I have to do this on my own. I'll be okay," I assured him with a smile. He let out a sigh and kissed my forehead, "I never stopped loving you," he whispered as he released me.

Turning to look back at the ball, I let out a heavy breath before walking further into the lake. As I got closer to the energy, the deep the lake got. Standing a foot away from behind it, I was 5 feet in the lake. I could feel the heat of the energy against my body.

Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath before opening my eyes again. Without a second thought, I reached out and grabbed the ball of energy. As I touched it with both hands, I could feel myself being lit on fire. I could feel the pain and chaos it could cause. I could feel the suffering it could be causing but I could also feel the happiness it had along with its bravery and redemption. It was both of the darkness and of light. Closing my eyes, I focused on the energy. I could feel everything becoming powerful for me. Overwhelming and enduring.

I could hear yelling in the distance but I ignored it. I knew it was Victor but I paid no mind. I didn't want to be immortal. I didn't want to stand by and watch the world and everyone I care about to die as I lived on. I didn't want this burden but I was willing to take this on just to stop Liam from killing people and killing the Earth.

I could feel myself drowning in energy. I could feel myself trying to breathe but couldn't. Is it selfish that I wanted to be left alone? Everyone was good at ignoring me before but now they need me. I was perfectly fine having just my parents and Ethan once Victor was gone. Still couldn't believe he lied about his death. I could also feel a burst of energy from him. He had some sort of power but I didn't know what. Maybe he was also immortal considering he came back from the dead. I watched him died in my arms. I watched him take his last breath. I watched him spoke his last words.

Opening my eyes, I found myself floating in space surrounded by stars. I was dead and this was the energy I was in... I assume. From Victor faking his death to me being attack that night to my parents' death to my brother dying, I felt as if I've lost a piece of me each time. I felt it was my fault that I couldn't save Victor. I felt it was my fault I couldn't save my parents. I felt it was my fault I couldn't save Ethan. It was my fault the universe was going to be destroyed by Liam and it was up to me to stop that. I wish I knew about Kai earlier. How could I have been so blinded by it?

Letting out a sigh, I closed my eyes and reopened them. Emerging out of the water, I stood up and took a calm breath. How could I have let things escalated so fast? Was I that bad of a person? Maybe in a way, I was worst than Liam.

Walking out of the water, the guys all surround me and started to talk. Looking at them, I couldn't hear them. I was still stuck in my own thoughts.

"We need to head back to the house," I mumbled as I pushed through them.

I headed back to the car and dried myself off with my powers before getting into the car. They all got in and we drove back to the house. Once arriving, walked inside and carried Ethan's body out to the backyard. Laying it in the grass, I watched as his spirit form stood next to his body. The guys all stood behind me and looking at the sky, I could see the star placement in my head like a projection despite the stars not actually being out.

Finding the star, I focused on it and held my palm out to the side. Closing my eyes, I focused on opening a portal. I could see the portal opening in my mind. Focusing on the weapon, I could sense its energy was near. Holding my hand out, I send out signaling energy.

Within seconds, the weapon was in my hand. Opening my eyes, I looked to see the weapon was physically in my hand. Closing the portal, I sat on the grass next to Ethan's body. I looked up at him and he gave me a nod before touching his physical body.

I tapped Ethan's forehead with the weapon and I watched as it glowed before Ethan's spirit was now in his physical body. As he was about to take his last breath, I grabbed Ethan's shoulder and took in a sharp breath to which his body mimicked. Using my powers, I started to heal his body from the inside. As I healed him, I could feel our bond as never before. Releasing his shoulder, I stared at his body. His eyes flickered open and I watched as he blinked a couple of times. Within each blink, his eyes shifted from his natural turquoise color to green, golden yellow, then back to its original color.

"Woah," he gasped out as his eyes flickered around in the sky. I looked up to see there was nothing there. "What do you see?" I asked as I looked at him.

A smile rose to his face before he looked at me, "Everything. I see physics. I see the measurement of practically everything. Did you know on your left eyebrow there are 261 hairs but on your right eyebrow, you have 304. Your eyebrow looks symmetrically even despite one having more hair on one eyebrow than the other," he analyzed me.

A grin rose to my lips, "I could see you developing OCD from this with a side of becoming a perfectionist," I joked before I shook my head and hugged him.

"I missed you," I whispered in his hair. He hugged me back and let out a sigh, "I missed you too," he whispered back. We pulled away from the hug and I quickly broke the weapon in half causing it to spark in the middle. Before we could say about word, a loud roar came from the distance.

Well shit.
