I am 'bout tired of things black people create being stolen from us and named something "European" to appeal to the media and society in general.  This kind of ignorance annoys me so much.

The biggest example of this is the style of cornrows.  Kim Kardashian wore two of these and the media went wild.  More specifically, young white girls/ wannabe white girls went wild as if they haven't seen cornrows on the black girl in their history class.  Then they started calling it boxer braids.  I don't really know which one came first.  Kim K braids...Boxer braids...still the wrong name.

Did y'all know this one girl in my school (not white but wannabe white girl) jumped into MY conversation I was having with a friend on how ignorant some folks are only to say some dumb shit?  She said something on the lines of "Aren't cornrows, like, more though?"  Matter fact, I think those were her EXACT words.

What she was basically saying was that "boxer braids" are two braids and cornrows are multiple braids.  All I heard was "Cornrows are the ones the super ghetto black people wear in, like, jail, while boxer braids are, like, super cute."  Are you dumb??

They're called cornrows.  One cornrow, two cornrows, three cornrows, TEN.  It doesn't matter how many there are, the style of braid that is attached to your scalp and sits on top of your head is called a cornrow.

Please do not get it twisted.  Stop stealing shit from us!  (That includes bantu knots, bonnets, etc. It's ours.  Borrow don't steal.  There's a difference.)
