Chapter Five
The camera screen flickers on as Ravioli picked it up.
Ravioli: Hey guys and welcome back to Natural Beauty!
Scallop: CUT! Ravioli, you need to be more descriptive in your intro.
Ravioli: I can do the intro how I want.
Scallop: No you can't!
Ravioli: And why not?
Scallop: Because I said so.
Margaret: Eh?! Just shut up and get it over with!
The rustling of bushes could be heard nearby.
Margaret: Walks right over to the bushes.
Sprinkles: Oi Margaret, I think there's something in that bush.
Margaret: Shut up Sprinkles! I know where I'm going!
Sprinkles: I'm sure you do... but maybe you should step away from the bushes.
An arctic fox leaps out of the bushes right in front of Margaret.
Sprinkles: Oh no, RAVIOLI, SCALLOP!
Ravioli: What's going on?
Scallop: sigh
Margaret: Sprinkles I said I didn't need help!
Sprinkles: That's not me...
Ravioli: Don't worry Margaret! I'll save you! Runs over to the arctic fox and swipes his paw at its face.
The fox turns to Ravioli and starts to chase him instead.
Sprinkles: Okay Ravioli, have fun distracting the fox. Picks up the camera and turns it to Ravioli and the fox who was shredding him. This is called an arctic fox, it lives in this biome because of its white fur that helps it blend into the snow and hunt prey without them seeing it.
Ravioli: HELP!
Sprinkles: The arctic fox's pelt actually changes colors depending on what season it is. In greenleaf, their pelts change to a gray or brown because there is no snow around them and their white pelts would make it hard to catch prey. In some places, it can turn more of a bluish-gray color. In leaf-bare, their pelts change back to the snowy white fur they are usually known for.
As Sprinkles talks about the arctic fox Ravioli starts to drag himself away from the fox but the fox leaped back on top of him. Another two foxes crept out of the bushes and started to help the fox that was already there.
Sprinkles: Ah, here comes the other group members. Did I mention that arctic foxes typically live in groups consisting of one male fox, two vixens, and a litter? You may be wondering why there are two vixens, well, one of the vixens is "non-breeding animal born the previous year that stays to help care for the next litter. These dens generally have four to eight entrances and a system of tunnels covering about 30 square meters." (http://alaskazoo.org/arctic-fox)
Ravioli: THERE'S MORE?! SCALLOP HELP!
Scallop: Laughing his butt off.
Sprinkles: Well, I have to go help Ravioli, I hope you liked this episode of Natural Beauty.
She clicks the camera off and runs to help Ravioli.
