Valentine's Day Special!! (Fluff🌹)

This will be a Valentines Day special for Nathan and Lara!! Happy Valentines Day everyone!!!!

Nathan Drake walks past a cafe shop as small flecks of snow fall. With a hum escaping him, he follows a certain road towards a house not too far away. He's wearing a white button up shirt followed by a beige vest, and beige trousers with a black belt. NC is bustling with activity on Valentines Day, with hearts hanging from around the whole town, and streets bustling with life. People chatter and the clouds cover the sky, luckily it's perfect weather to go out to Raleigh-Durham area and get a crepe or two.

Nathan walks until he gets into the cafe. He spots a woman in a red dress sitting in a corner. Her dark hair is curled, and even though she's wearing a jade necklace, another one dons her neck as well. Hoop earrings hang from her ears, and two bracelets don her wrists. One of them is in the shape of a heart monitor and it's gold against her fairly tan skin. Nathan walks up to her, a small smile on his face.

"Shall I order you a coffee, miss?" He asks her. The woman in red looks at him, and says to him in a fairly strong British accent,

"That would be great, thank you very much, Mr...." she trails off. Nathan smiles and holds out his hand for her to take.

"Nathan Drake," he says to her. "Nate. And you are...?" The woman in the red dress smiles and says,

"Croft. Lara Croft." Nathan smiles and his heart races. Every time he would walk into this cafe, on Valentines Day for the past three years, he would see this woman in a red dress like she's wearing now, sitting here, waiting for him, as if their paths were destined to cross and meet. Nathan hums.

"Nice to meet you, Lara. Where do you work at, if you don't mind me asking?" He says, trying to start up a conversation with her. Lara leans forward in her seat some and says,

"Buy me a coffee first, Drake, then we'll talk." Nathan chuckles, then walks towards the coffee barista, ordering two espressos and two crepes, each with powdered sugar and chocolate sauce. When he walks back with the two coffees in hand, he sits down, giving Lara her coffee. She smiles at him.

"Thank you, Mr. Drake. My, my, such a gentleman." She giggles. Nathan perks up at her laugh. Lara looks at him, a smile on her face.

"Your laugh, it's genuine." He says to her. Lara blushes. She looks at him.

"Thank you. No one's ever commented on my laugh before." Nathan hums.

"Well, I have, and I believe I'm the first, yes?" Lara smiles at him again. She nods.

"Yes," she says. "In fact, you are the first." Nathan raises an eyebrow, then laughs softly himself. His heart races and thumps against his chest. It hasn't been 24 hours yet, and already he feels as if his heart is going to burst out of his chest because this woman is exhilarating to him. She's gorgeous and beautiful. He goes up to get the coffee and crepes, then comes back to her. Lara hums.

"You don't disappoint," she says. "I like that." Nathan chuckles.

"Now about that question." He raises an eyebrow. Lara chuckles.

"If you must know, Mr. Drake, I am an archaeologist and an adventurer," she explains. "It's in my blood. I just came down here to North Carolina to see what's in store for me."
Nathan hums softly. He adjusts his wristwatch on his arm.

"I can show you around," he says. "I live in Trinity, North Carolina. It's a very cool place." Lara nods. She smiles at him.

"I would like that very much, Mr. Drake." Nathan stops her.

"Please, Lara, call me Nathan. Or Nate." Lara hums softly, nodding.

"Nate. Okay." She smiles at him, just as the barista walks up.

"Happy birthday," she says to Lara. "May you be blessed with joy." Nathan smiles at her.

"Your birthday is on Valentines Day?" He asks. "If I had known, I would've gotten a present." Lara laughs.

"It's fine." She says to him. She then turns to the window, as Nathan leaves then comes back with forks for the two of them. Lara sips at her coffee, then eats her crepe. She looks at Nathan.

He seems distracted, looking ahead. Lara hums softly, then taps him gently. He turns to her.

"You okay?" She asks him. Nathan nods.

"Yes." He says. Lara raises an eyebrow. She then decides not to question him further, and eats the rest of her crepe. Once they're both done, they just sit there, chatting over coffee.

As the afternoon sun peeks out from behind the clouds, Nathan and Lara leave the cafe and go sit at a bench in Cedarock Park. As they do, Nathan looks at her features.

He has never been this close to a beautiful woman like her, especially now. He then reaches into his pocket. "I got you something." He blinks his eyes at her as he says this.

Lara looks at him. "You got me something for my birthday?" She asks. Nathan nods.

"Yes, I did." He smiles at her. He then pulls out a small box from his pocket. He hands it to her. She raises an eyebrow.

"Go on, open it," he says to her. "I think you will like it." Lara hums then opens it, gasping.

Inside is a beautiful necklace, a heart shaped pendant hanging off a silver chain with her birthstone in the center. Lara smiles.

"Nate, I love it!" She says. She looks at him. Nathan smiles then takes out the necklace from the box, then puts it around her neck. Lara looks down at it, smiling.

"Beautiful." Nathan says. Lara blushes.

"Thank you." She says. He hums, looking into her eyes. They both just sit there, before Lara pulls Nathan in for a kiss, as a soft wind blows in their direction, making the leaves blow, and Lara's hair is picked up by the wind. Nathan smiles in the kiss, then pulls away, smiling wide at her.

"I can't believe I'm finally saying this, but I love you, Lara." Nathan says to her. Lara smiles at him, then kisses him softly.

"I love you too, Nathan." She says to him, as the wind blows again, making the couple shiver. Nathan gets up, offering Lara his hand for her to take, which she does. They then walk back towards Lara's house, who lives in Asheboro. Nathan hums softly.

"This is it," Lara says. She takes Nathan's hands. "I had a great time, Nathan. Thank you." Nathan smiles at her.

"You're welcome, Lara. And happy birthday." Lara smiles and kisses her new boyfriend.

Nathan watches her walk into her home, before he leaves. As he does, he looks up, seeing the window open and Lara waving at him. Sometimes love can easily be found in the most unlikeliest of places, and theirs was in a coffee and crepe shop in Raleigh-Durham.

Sorry this isn't longer, but Valentines Day is almost over. Sadly I won't be writing one for Nathan and Elena, mostly cause I want to do country songs and Daughtry songs based around them and in this book too. Any who, happy Valentines Day, everyone!!
