TEN. the i love you painting

AUSTIN MOON loved Charlotte. Did he ever get a chance to tell her? No. He tried on multiple occasions to try and tell the girl he loved her and he just couldn't get the words out.

The one time he actually said the words he couldn't exactly make the sound vocally.

Oh wait. That's been told.

It's relevant per se. Austin Monica Moon did love Charlotte James Taylor and he would shout it from the mountain tops if he could.

That seemed easier than saying it to her face.

A lot of stuff seemed easier than telling Charlotte the little words

At this point, Charlotte and Austin had been dating for months and they didn't seem to hit any major bumps in the road just yet.

Actually, it was quite the opposite.

Austin and Ally had both been up for the worldwide music awards and they were nominated for best debut album.

And because Charlotte and Austin were officially official again she wanted to do something big to help celebrate.

She had it all worked out and she would be excited to give it to him weather or not he won the award.

"I can't wait for the whole world to know you're my girlfriend." Austin smiled.

Though they had been dating for months at this point, they decided that it was best to keep their relationship on the down low.

"Oh... this will be the first time your fans will know we're officially a couple... again." She laughed, "Oh! Should I get a dress that matches your tie or your socks that people won't see. Oh! Should we link arms or hold hands? I think we would hold hands that's cuter, and I'll stand on your left because you think that's your good side."

Austin chuckled softly. Charlotte had been more over the moon about them getting back together than he was it seemed.

She was ready to actually go out and do things with and show people that she was a very committed person to him.

They had gone through the mud and back trying and failing on some occasions to get this relationship to work and they finally felt like they were at a good spot to do so.

He linked his arm with hers as he mimicked the announcer that would introduce them as the walked the carpet.

"Austin and Charlotte have arrived at the red carpet." Austin balled his hand into a fist and held close to Charlotte mouth, "Tell is where your dress is from."

"It's vintage... my moms closet."

"Oh, you already have a celebrity couple nickname for us? "Charstin"? Cool."

"Did you just come up with that?"

"Yeah."

"It's cute." She smiled.

"You're cute."

As cheesy (and what most would say... cringe) Austin really did adore his relationship with Charlotte and would hate to see it fall apart... again.

A COUPLE of days had passed and Sonic Boom was preparing for a little celebration party for Austin and Ally.

"Austin and Ally, I heard the great news. Congratulations." Jimmy smiled.

Charlotte soon walked into Sonic Boom and as soon as Austin saw her, he called her over and laced her hand with his.

"What the heck are you two doing?" Jimmy asked.

Austin shrugged his shoulders, "Nothing much. What the heck are you doing?"

"I mean why are you two holding hands?"

"Oh!" Austin smiled, "Me and Charlotte are back together. I'm going to officially announce it at the W.M.A.S!"

"We're walking down the red carpet together. My mom has this really pretty dress that she's gonna let me wear."

"Austin," Jimmy sighed, "you can't have a girlfriend. Do you know what that could do to your career?"

"Make it better?"

"Try again."

"You have millions of teenage girl fans. If they think you're single, they'll buy more of your albums."

"So selling records is more important than my relationship with Austin?" Charlotte asked.

"Let me put it this way. No one can know you're a couple, and you're definitely not going to the W.M.A.S together. So save that dress for another time."

"But-"

Jimmy cut Austin off, "End of discussion."

Jimmy didn't wait another second before leaving the two alone.

To him, Austin's career meant a lot more than his relationship with Charlotte and they both knew Jimmy held a lot of power in his hands.

"What does Jimmy expect us to do? Pretend like we're not a couple for the rest of our lives?"

Charlotte shrugged her shoulders, "I don't know. I was really excited to go to the award show with you."

"Maybe we still can. If we can prove to Jimmy that we can be together in public without acting like a couple, he'll have to let you go."

"Do you think we can do that?"

"Of course we can."

"Then let go of my hand."

Austin chuckled awkwardly and let go of her hand.

This was going to take a lot of getting use to.

THE BIG night finally came and even thought Austin couldn't bring Charlotte to the awards, Ally decided to take her as her plus one.

Charlotte held her heels in her hand as Carter, Dez, and Trish all arrived at Sonic Boom to get Ally.

"Hey," Ally smiled, "are you okay?"

"No, but don't worry about me. This is about you and Austin and this huge award that your both up for."

As nerve wracking as it was Charlotte had never walked a red carpet before and she would have to do it without Austin by her side.

Charlotte was never hard to spot for Austin and as soon saw her he approached her, stumbling over his words.

"You look... wow."

She smiled, "You look pretty wow too."

"What do you think you're doing?" Jimmy asked.

"Just telling my friend Austin that he'll do so well tonight." Charlotte answered, "Good luck, bro."

A interviewer soon came up and began talking to Austin when he said he was single with Charlotte by his side.

"There's still a chance to snag him, ladies." The reporter smiled.

Austin and Charlotte we're soon pushed apart.

"Get in line!"

"Oh, it's Jasmine Fierra. She's also up for best debut album."

Jasmine smiled, resting her hands on Austin's shoulders as she circled around him, "Hey, Austin. Looking cute, as always. I wrote a love song that world be perfect for us to sing together."

"If I were to sing a love song I would probably only sing it for... you. 'Cause I don't have a girlfriend, so it doesn't matter who I sing it for or who I'm sing with."

"You heard it." The report smiled, "Austin and Jasmine will be recording a new love song together, and Austin and Charlotte are officially unofficial."

Charlotte bit her tongue and let out a deep breath, "Good luck to the both of you. I should probably head inside because I'm not famous."

She turned and grabbed Carter by his wrist and pulled him inside the venue.

"I can't keep doing this." She whispered, "Did you see how pretty she was?"

"Who? You?"

Charlotte squeezed her eyes shut and balled her hands into fist, "Carter, I know you're trying to make me feel better but now is not the time."

"Look, don't you know that Austin would do anything for you?" Carter asked, "He's only trying to protect you."

"From who? Jimmy?" Charlotte sighed, "Austin and I have been on this rollercoaster of emotions for a long time and I finally feel like I can tell him I love him and I can't even do that anymore."

"Yes you can!" He held her shoulders and rocked her back and forth, "Wait, what did you say?"

"That Jimmy's ruining my life?"

"You love Austin?"

"Yes, I do and I got him this stupid little gift and now I can't even give it to him."

"Oh, you're gonna give it to him. Jimmy is no match for Carter."

"Butt out. I don't need help. I need you to support me."

Carter sighed, throwing his arm over Charlotte's shoulders.

"That I can do."

The two of them entered the seating area of the venue where they spotted Trish, Ally, and Dez.

Trish had gave Charlotte the rundown of the conversation Jimmy had with Austin.

He either had to pick his career or Charlotte.

"Austin can't quit music. It'll kill him." Trish said in a whisper.

"So what am I supposed to do? Break up with him for the third time?"

Dez leaned forward, telling the two to be quiet as the show was starting.

Charlotte heavily sighed and slid down in her seat.

She glanced down the row and saw Austin staring at the stage.

Charlotte stood from her seat and caught Austin's eyes so he followed her out.

"What's going on?"

"Trish told me what Jimmy said. You're career is very important to me because it's something you've always wanted."

"We just have to keep to our relationship a secret." Austin said, "Whenever we're in public, or whenever Jimmy's around. Or whenever someone has a camera, or a phone with a camera, or a whenever there's a window."

"We can't do that. I don't wanna do that."

"I know, but what are we supposed to do?"

"Your career is very important." Charlotte said, "And I would really, really hate to be the person to hold you back. So, because I broke up with you twice. You can break up with me it so it's not as bad."

"Charlotte."

"Look, you're gonna go to the studio and make great songs and I'm going to work at this job and make kids happy. We'll be friends. We've always have."

"I... I don't wanna lose you again."

Austin stepped forward, resting his hand on the cup of her cheek.

"Um," Charlotte sighed, her voice shaking, "I... I, um... got you something whether you won or not tonight."

She pulled the folded paper out of her pocket and handed it to him.

He gently unfolded it and smiled, "A painting?"

"When you painted that I love you painting I knew you weren't ready to say it and I wasn't going to push you to do so. So, I made my own and whenever time is right we'll say, okay?"

"Charlotte-"

"You have an award to win." She smiled, "And I'll be cheering you on no matter what."

She dropped his one hand gently and stepped away from him.

In the matter of seconds he had just lost the girl he loved and all because she didn't want him to lose his career.

"THE NOMINEES are... Kid Reflux, "Hood Dreamz"... Jasmine Fierra, "Fierce," Lonely Highway, "Rowdy Mountain Monday," Austin Moon, "Superhero"... and Ally Dawson, "Finally Me". And the award for best debut album goes to... "Fierce"! Jasmine Fierra!"

Carter quickly stood from his seat, "Rigged!"

Charlotte quickly pulled him down as Jasmine made her way towards the stage.

"Thank you." She smiled, "They always say that it's an honor just to be nominated, but the truth is winning is so much better!"

Jasmine's speech was cut short when Austin jumped on stage.

"I'm sorry Jasmine, can I borrow that for a sec?"

"Sure."

"Thanks. Love your album by the way." He said, grabbing the mic, "Hey everybody. I have something to say. By doing this, I could be throwing away my career... but I don't care anymore."

"What is he doing?" Carter asked in a whisper, "I would've done the same."

Austin continued, "A good friend once told me, "without love, what's the point of any of this?" I can't hide it anymore. When I came here tonight, I was so excited to tell the world that... I have a girlfriend... And her name is Charlotte Taylor."

The crowd awe'd the blond boy on stage as his confession and downfall of his career played in front of people's eyes.

"Charlotte... I love you."

The girl held her mouth agape slightly as tears clouded her eyes and Carter violently shook Charlotte's shoulders back and forth.

She held a bright smile as she stood from her seat and picked her floor length dress off of the floor, heading on stage.

Like said, Charlotte wasn't a person to show a ton of PDA, she would hold a hand here and there and if Austin was lucky she would kiss his cheek.

But when your boyfriend had just confessed to millions of people that he loved you and put his whole career in the line... I mean, he deserved something more than a hand being held.

"Austin?"

"Charlotte?"

She gave him a bright smile, "I love you too."

Austin smiled down at her and pressed his lips against hers tenderly, applying gentle pressure.

You know what they say?

Third times a charm.

DAYS HAD passed and Jimmy Starr still hadn't changed his mind about Austin being signed back to the record label, but Austin reassured everyone that he had made the best and right choice.

On the crazy flip side of things, Trish, Dez, and Carter were going to California for who knows how long.

Dez and Carter were going to a film camp for a while and Trish had signed a boy band and needed to get a little closer to the group.

As for Ally, she had a tour to go on, so she would also be out of Miami.

That left Austin and Charlotte alone in Miami.

Austin had been setting on Charlotte's bed with his back against the headboard as she rested her head on his lap reading a book aloud.

It was the little things that Austin missed about being with Charlotte.

The ability to play with her hair, the way she would always use strawberry lotion before going to bed, they way she would read aloud and have no idea what she was really saying.

The only difference?

His I love you painting had been hanging up above Charlotte's dresser. It was surrounded by pictures of her and her family and close friends and of course the small things that meant a lot to her.

Austin Moon felt good. He may have lost his career, but his ultimate mission was complete.

Austin Moon got his girl back.
