SEVEN. it's like i'm the universe and you'll be N-A-S-A

COULD YOU believe that Austin didn't actually ask Charlotte to propose to him? It was a simply a figment of the imagination.

Actually, the crazy thing happened.

Charlotte finished college and it had been a long four year for her and everyone involved.

Okay, enough beating around the bush.

Charlotte and Austin had broken up again.

That's not important right now. The important thing here is that Carter, Dez, Trish, and Ally needed to find someway to get the two of them to talk to each other.

Austin and Charlotte couldn't even look at each other let alone stay in the same room.

The break up was messy and all around something that neither of them wanted to relive.

Which is way the new plan was to get Charlotte and Austin back to at least time was to get them both on the Helen Show.

But how was Charlotte, someone who wasn't famous, gonna get on the Helen Show?

It didn't matter, with a push here and a shove there, Charlotte was booked for the Helen Show for what she thought was to talk about her newfound career in medicine.

But no, they had baited both Austin and Charlotte to be on the Helen Show, sitting on the same couch with close proximity, and the first question out of Helen's mouth?

"Why'd you two break up?"

The two of them stumbled out some nonsense when Helen asked another question.

"Charlotte, is it true that Austin showed up at your dorm room at John Hopkins and spelled out, "I'm breaking up with you," in sand he brought from Miami?"

"No, that would be weird." She smiled awkwardly.

"Austin? Is it true that Charlotte's dad paid you a million dollars to stay away from her?"

"A million dollars?" Austin questioned, "No way! Do you know how cheap Charlotte's dad is?"

"Where'd you get your information from?" Charlotte asked.

"I'm making it up." Helen smiled, "Since you two have never spoken publicly about the breakup, all we can do is make horrible guesses as to what happened."

Austin rolled his eyes, "Look, the real story isn't that interesting. I was constantly on tour, Charlotte was busy with school, and we never had time to see each other."

"Aww."

"We we're just upset we couldn't always be together or even talk on the phone, so, we decided that the best thing to do was take a small break." Charlotte explained.

"Then a small break turned into a long break."

"Then a long break turned into a really long break."

"Then a really long break turned into-"

"But is this really anybody's business?" Charlotte asked.

"Well, the important thing is, is that you're both back on my show again. And who can forget Austin and Charlotte's first appearance on the Helen Show eight years ago? Roll the clip!"

The clip ended as soon as it started with the audience clapping.

"I doubt anyone will ever see a talk show appearance more uncomfortable than that."

"Today's pretty close." Charlotte chucked.

"So, how hard is it for you two to see each other right now?" Helen asked, "Is it awful?"

Before either of them had a chance to answer, Dez and Cater slid onto the stage.

The two of them joined Charlotte and Austin on the couch, the ex couple questioning them on why they were sitting there.

"I'm sorry, who are you?" Helen asked.

"Our movie? Thanks for asking." Carter smiled, "We would love to talk about our movie. It's called the Austin Moon story."

"Roll the clip!" Dez shouted.

The trailer for the movie pretty much summed up Austin's career from point A to point B with ease, including moments between him and Charlotte.

"Wow! Look how in love you two were. Such a tragedy." Helen said.

"Tell us about it." Dez said, "We've been reworking the ending of our movie for years, trying to make it less depressing."

"Oh, powerful stuff." Helen stood, "Stay tuned, after this commercial, Ally Dawson is gonna preform a brand-new song."

Once she knew they had completed cut, Charlotte stood, "Thanks for having me Helen, but I'm done."

"Charlotte!" Austin called.

But that didn't stop her from walking off and Austin following behind.

She eventually lost him and found her main target and began slapping her shoulders.

"You and all you're little minions set me up."

Trish furrowed her brows, "Thank you. I'm glad you know that I'm the leader."

"Trish!"

"Look, you and Austin had a messy breakup but you guys can't even stay in the same room for more than five minutes?"

Austin finally found Charlotte and asked Trish could she step away to talk to her.

"You look nice." She smiled.

"So do you. I've been using a new all-natural moisturizer."

There was a long pause before either of them spoke.

"I miss you."

"It's weird not having you around." She said, "We use to share everything."

"Well, at least I still have your necklace." He said, pulling the necklace out of his pocket, "It's almost like having you with me."

"You keep with this with you?"

"Always." Austin smiled, "You know, we always used to be able to lean on each other to get through anything. Ally isn't actually singing tonight."

"Why not?"

"Because we are. A duet. Like what we use to do."

When Austin and Charlotte first started dating that had posted silly little covers on the internet. It couldn't hurt to do one last song together would it?

"Aww." Trish smiled, "Still too close?"

Well, that one last song actually was the push Austin and Charlotte needed. Because live on air they had decided that because Charlotte was completely done with school for the time being that she could actually join him on tour and that's actually what she did.

They were back as a couple and things couldn't have been any better.

TEN YEARS had gone by since that interview and Charlotte was very happy to say that her and Austin did no have octuplets like he had worriedly predicted.

Instead, they had two kids and as promised their names were Saylor and Malachi Moon.

That being said, Austin and Charlotte did end up getting married at some point, Austin actually proposed in Paris in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Of course, Dez and Carter also got married. Having a child via surrogate from Charlotte and to Carter's hatred, they named their son Darry.

Who was only six years old and somehow in college.

To the shock of pretty much everyone Chuck and Trish also got married and had a daughter of their own.

They really had some big changes in their lives they still remained the best of friends.

But there was just one more thing Austin and Charlotte had to do before leaving Miami.

"I'm almost done."

Austin glanced up at Charlotte. Paint had covered the dress she was wearing. Their kids had been downstairs with their grandparents while Charlotte and Austin sat in her childhood bedroom painting.

"We only have ten hours until our flight." Austin chuckled, "No need to rush."

Charlotte held a small smile and put her paintbrush down.

She picked up her painting and showed Austin the new and improved I love you paint.

Only slight changes here and there. The only new addition were their kids.

Austin turned his painting around and Charlotte smiled.

"Stick people?"

"I'm a musician, not a painter."

Charlotte traded paintings with Austin. She glanced over every part of the paint. From the stick figure of herself holding Austin's hand to the poorly drawn clouds in the skies, even the jagged heart with the simple ILY inside.

The newest addition to his painting had been a small house and their kids.

"I love it." She smiled, "And I'm sure the kids will love it when they question who's who in the yours."

The two of them shared a small laugh. Though they had been through many, many things they always did them together and that's all that mattered.

This place they called the universe had wrapped their hands around Charlotte and Austin, but of course, like their daughter Saylor had mentioned, it was like they were astronauts for NASA.

Just a bunch of space and two people trying to figure out how to juggle it and somehow, someway, Charlotte and Austin were able to do that.

Final score.

NASA: zero

Austin and Charlotte: one
