Cold Rainy Night

( Age 18-19)

Y/N and Kiba were sent to the Village Hidden in the Rain to collect some scroll. Apparently it was of top importance and had to be brought back immediately to Lady Tsunade. They were instructed to not open the scroll and to not let ANY one touch it besides the two of them.

Kiba was walking ahead of Y/N slightly, the scroll hidden in his backpack absent-mindedly petting Akamaru as they walked but would pass glances behind his shoulder at her every now and again.

Y/N and Kiba have always flirted with each other, it was just innocent fun and laughs. It started when they were 15, the ripe age to be thinking of the opposite sex (or the same) in a different way than just a friend. Kiba and Y/N took to each other like butter on bread, and have been that way since.

Y/N being the oblivious innocent woman that she was, never caught on that Kiba wanted to be more than just flirtatious with her. He would try and drop subtle hints that he liked liked her but she would blush and flirt back. Kiba was worried that if he was up front with her then their little flirting game would end and she would push him away.

As they were walking Y/N felt a rain drop on her bare shoulder and stopped in her tracks and looked up at the grey cloudy sky. "What's up Y/N" Kiba asked stopping and looking back at her.

"I felt a rain drop."

"Well yeah we are in the Village Hidden In The Rain. That's all it does here." Kiba replied looking up also as he felt more drops. Then the bottom fell out and it began to pour cold rain on them and poor Akamaru.

"Come on there should be a cave up ahead where we can wait out the rain!" Y/N said grabbing Kiba's hand and running into the woods further. Kiba's heart picked up in pace at the feeling of her warm slender hand in his as they ran for cover.

"There!" She called loudly and quickly pulled them into the small dry cave.

"It's dry in here. We can hold up here for now." She said smiling and took off her white body length pull over and laying it out to dry on the cave ground. Kiba followed suit and did the same, Akamaru shook at the moth of the cave and trotted inside and laid down by a cozy looking rock.

Kiba and Y/N stood at the mouth of the cave, careful to stay dry and watched the rain fall. Y/N stood close to Kiba, closer than she normally would, making his heart pound fast, hoping she couldn't hear it. "Hey Kiba?"

Her voice pulled him out of his mind with a shake of his head. "Yeah? What's up?" He asked softly looking at her wet face from the rain. "When we get back to the Village and give that scroll to Lady Hokage, do you maybe wanna...go out?" She asked. Her face blushed a deep crimson red as she looked at the rain, her hands laced together in front of her body.

All of Kiba's breath left his lungs, heat crept on his face, and he bit the inside of his cheek. "L-like on a date?" He stuttered, looking at her with wide eyes.

She laughed and turned her head to look at him, "Of course. What else would I be talking about?" The smile she have him made his knees wobble.

"Y-yeah. Sure. But ain't I supposed to ask you out on a date?" Kiba asked rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment. She laughed again,

"Well you never did so I thought I'd shoot my shot."

"Well thanks for shooting."

Kiba mentally cursed himself for saying something so dumb.

"Kiba we have been flirting for years now, don't be getting all shy on me." She nudge his shoulder with hers and she walked back into the cave and sat down against one of the walls and brought her knees up to her chest.

"I-i'm not shy! You just caught me off guard!" Kiba retorted blushing a deeper shade of red, "Well anyways, it's getting dark out, might as well stay here and get some rest." He said walking to sit to by her, Akamaru came and laid down next to Y/N as she shivered and rubbed her arms with his hands to try and create heat.

Kiba opened his arms out to her and smiled, "Come here, it's a cold Rainy night and you don't need to get sick before our date." And then he winked

Smooth Kiba.

He praised himself in his mind as she smiled and leaned into his awaiting arms and cuddled into his chest, sighing at the warmth her gave off.
