After the break was over, everyone was back in the classroom and one team after the other got to know their new Sensei until only their team was left. Annoyed she was sitting on her chair and had her legs back on the table, she actually had no problem if someone didn't arrive on time, but being late for almost an hour is a bit exhausting.

Her thoughts were interrupted as Sasuke poked her knee, trying to get her attention. "What's up with you?"

She just shook her head slightly, before nodding her head toward the door. Sasuke took that to mean she was just as annoyed at the blond as he was.

"Naruto!" Sakura suddenly called,

"Sit down!" Naruto turned his head back to look at her,

"I don't want to! How come our teacher is the only one that's late?! I'm ready to roll! Believe it!" He whipped around to face them completely, "The other groups have already met their new teachers and took off on some adventure or something, and Iruka-sensei's gone too!"

Sakura sighed, "We know, okay?"
Izuna's full attention was drawn to the door as she heard a thunk. She pursed her lips, trying to hold back her laughter, "What are you doing?"
Naruto started laughing deviously as he set up his 'perfect' prank. Sakura's eyes narrowed as she marched over to him, "Naruto!"
"That's what he gets for coming late! Surprise!" Naruto jumped down from the stool he was on, striking a victory pose. Izuna giggled as she looked up at the eraser that was wedged in the door.

She rolled her eyes as the pinkette started scolding Naruto, "You're asking for trouble! You know you shouldn't do that!"

Sasuke grunted in annoyance, drawing Nanashi's attention to him, "Our teacher's a Jonin. An elite ninja. You think that he'd fall for that?" well, if he fell for it, she would really doubt that he was a Jonin.

"Yeah, Sasuke's right! You're so clueless, Naruto!" Before she could continue her rant, a hand appeared in the doorway, and Izuna turned completely to face the new arrival. She looked curiously at the door, wondering if he would really step through the door without noticing the sponge. As a silver-haired man stuck his head in, the eraser falling and hitting him rather lightly.

She really hadn't expected that.

Naruto started laughing loudly, pointing at their new Sensei, "I got him! He totally fell for it!"

Sakura immediately put on an innocent act, "I'm sorry, Sensei! I told him not to do it, but he wouldn't listen! I'd never do anything like that!"

As the man bent to pick up the eraser, he met Izuna's eyes, he looked her over briefly, which surprised her somewhat, did he know her?

He straightened back up, putting a hand to his chin as if he were thinking, "Hmm... How can I put this? My first impression of this group... You're a bunch of idiots."

That pulled us all down first, is this guy for real? Well Naruto was an idiot somewhere but seriously, he probably wasn't much better, after all, he fell for this totally obvious prank.

As they all moved to where Team Seven was going to do their introductions, Sasuke glanced over at his best friend, "You know this guy, Izuna?" she just shook her head, apparently Sasuke also noticed the look he had thrown at her "No, I have no idea" Sasuke nodded shortly before he had to critically criticize their Sensei, he would keep an eye on him.

They continued walking in silence until they got to their destination, and Kakashi leaned back against the railing. While they took their seats on the small set of stairs, as soon as they were settled, Kakashi spoke up again, "Alright. Why don't you introduce yourselves. One at a time."

Sakura spoke up first, "Introduce ourselves? Well... what are we supposed to say?"

"Things you like. Things you hate. Dreams for the future. Hobbies. Things like that," He unfolded his arms, shrugging, and crossed them again.

"Why don't you tell us stuff first?" Naruto suggested, "I mean, before we talk, tell us about you, so we can see how it's supposed to work!"

"Me?" Kakashi pointed at himself. Izuna fought the urge to facepalm, no the sandman, she thought ironically

"I'm Kakashi Hatake. Things I like and things I hate... Mmm... I don't feel like telling you that. My dreams for the future... Never really thought about it. As for my hobbies... I have lots of hobbies!" Izuna now realy facepalmed, was this man for real ?

They didn't really learn much from that, she found her Sensei more and more strange and wondered if that would go well at all. "Wow. That was informative" she had to get rid of sarcastically and Sakura also agreed with her "Right, he just gave us his name" Naruto nods in confirmation

"Okay, it's your turn. You first"

"All right, I'm Naruto Uzumaki! I like instant ramen in a cup, and I really like the ramen Iruka-sensei got me at the Ichiraku noodle shop! But, I hate the three minutes you have to wait after you pour the ramen in the ramen cup. My hobby is eating different kinds of ramen and comparing them. And my future dream is... To be the greatest Hokage! Then the whole village will stop disrespecting me and start treating me like I'm somebody important!"

Izuna beamed at her blond friend as Kakashi studied him. "Alright... Next?"

"I'm Sakura Haruno! What I like, uh... I mean the person that I like is..." She blushed, casting a glance over at Sasuke. He shared an annoyed look with Izuna, "Uh... My hobby is..." She giggled, Izuna could only roll her eyes annoyed, "My dream for the future is..." She cut herself off again, squealing loudly.

Kakashi just looked tired, "And? What do you hate?"

"NARUTO!" Said boy looked completely devastated.

Kakashi fought back a sigh, "Okey. Next one."

"All right, my name is Izuna Uchiha. What I like are sunrises and dangos. What I don't like is losing people who are important to me. My hobby is to train and my dream for the future ... I want to become just as great of a ninja as my brother was and pass on his legacy " Kakashi nodded, he hadn't really expected anything else, after all, she was Shisui's sister and he was pretty sure that she would be as good of a ninja as her brother once was.

"Good. Now the last one"

Sasuke propped his elbows up on his knees, steepling his fingers together in front of his mouth. Izuna just sighs at her friend, she knew that he was way too dramatic again "My name... is Sasuke Uchiha. I hate a lot of things, and I don't particularly like anything."

Izuna pouted, "Rude."

He ignored her, his eyes narrowing, "What I have isn't a dream, because I will make it a reality." Izuna now looked at the ground, the joy had now disappeared from her face, "I'm going to restore my clan, and destroy a certain someone." Izuna knew that Sasuke wanted to get revenge on Itachi, she could understand it somewhere but for her it was never an option. She knew Itachi, she knew that he would never do something like that, Izuna believed that there was something completely different behind it, and the only thing she wanted was an answer. She wanted to know how this could happened, and sooner or later she would get these answers.

The atmosphere suddenly turned awkward, and Naruto froze in fear. Kakashi spoke up again, "You're each unique and have your own ideas. We'll have our first mission tomorrow."

Naruto looked excited again, "What kind of mission are we going to have?"

"It's a task that the five of us will do together."

"What, what, what, what?!"

"A survival exercise."

Sakura interjected, "I thought we were supposed to have a mission, not more practice! We already did this stuff at the academy, that's how we got here!"

Izuna could only roll her eyes at so much stupidity that she managed to pass the exam was almost a miracle. What did she expect? Just because she could now call herself a ninja, it's getting easier? On the contrary, now it would be all the more difficult, but Izuna noticed that some people really didn't understand what it actually meant to be a ninja.

Kakashi's visible eye narrowed almost unnoticeably, "This is not like your previous training."

Naruto raised a hand nervously, "So, uh, what kind of training is it, then?"

Kakashi started laughing, unnerving his students. Izuna looked at him with narrowed eyes, what was so funny about that now?

"Hey, hold on!" Sakura said, frowning, "That's a normal question! What's so funny?"
Kakashi laughed again, tauntingly, "Well, if I tell you the answer, you're not going to like it~!" He suddenly turned serious. "Of the 28 graduates, only 10 are recognized as Genin, the other 18 have fallen through and are going back to the academy. In other words, this is a make-it-or-break-it, pass-fail test. And the chance that you'll fail is 66%."

Well, that was more than a shock to them all now. Why had Shisui never told her about it, he could have at least mentioned it once. "See? Didn't I tell you, you wouldn't like it?"

Naruto leaned forward, yelling, "That's crazy! We worked hard to get here! Believe it! What was that graduation test for, anyway?!"

"Oh that. That was just to select the candidates who might become Genin. Or not."

"Whaaaat?!"

Kakashi sighed, "That's how it is. I decide whether you pass or fail. Be at the designated training spot at 5 AM. And bring your ninja gear. That's it, you're dismissed! Oh, tomorrow you better skip breakfast, or else... you'll puke!" and with that our sensei was gone.

She was really curious how the whole morning would look like, but one thing she knew for sure. She wouldn't fail.

Izuna grabbed her headband and looked at the sky.

She would become a ninja, one that her brother would be proud of, she would not give up, ever. Because that was her way as a shinobi.

The next morning, the time had come. When she got dressed she went to her box at the end of the bed and got a wakizashi out of there. It had been her brother's short sword, which he had bequeathed to her after his death. Shisui had taught her the basics of kenjutsu, so she shouldn't have any problems with it.

So she tightened the sword on the back of her hip, and then met with Sasuke, together they walked to the meeting point. Once there, Izuna noticed that the two were the first, which is why she decided to just sit on one of the branches of a tree.

"Looks like we are the first"

Sasuke didn't really give an answer, but just sat under the tree on which one she was. The two were not alone for a long time, because she could already see Sakura's pink hair, and shortly afterwards Naruto also appeared.

"Morning" she greeted the two briefly,

"Morning" gave Sakura and Naruto back sleepily and Sasuke only gave them a quick look.

Then we all waited together.

After about 4 hours he finally came, "You are too late", Sakura and Naruto complained immediately. Izuna sat on her branch and watched this happen, if she had known that it would really take so long, she would have simply brought something to eat with her

"I ran into a black cat, I had to make a detour," Kakashi exclaimed, which is why we all just rolled our eyes. A better excuse has probably not occurred to him

"Okay, let's start," he continued, he went to one of the tree trunks and set an alarm clock on it, "You must have made it by noon today at exactly 12 o'clock" now Sensei Kakashi held three bells in front of use, and Izuna wondered what he was going to do with them.

"Your task is very easy, you just need to take these three bells off me, that's all. If you can't do that, you won't get lunch,"

"What ?!" Naruto cried, horrified.

"In that case I'll tie you to this post and let you watch me have lunch" it was clear that this 'no-eat' rule had another purpose, but that wouldn't stop Izuna.

"Wait a minute, there are four of us, why are there only three bells?" Good question, Izuna got the feeling that this was about a lot more than just these bells.

"Quite simply, at least one of you will be disqualified this way because he could not feel the task. He goes back to the academy."

That really shocked everyone, even Izuna didn't know what to think of it.

"One of you will definitely fail, but it could be all four of you. You are allowed to use all your weapons, including the Shuriken, if you don't manage to defeat me you won't get to the bells," Kakashi finished, Izuna decided to jump from her branch and stand with the others, they all needed a good plan in any case.

"But the weapons are too dangerous, Sensei" Sakura escaped shocked, of course shuriken were dangerous but let's be honest, they'd all just become genins. They all had no real fighting experience and our Sensei was a Jonin, she strongly doubted that he would not be able to cope with them

"Hahaha, of course you wouldn't even throw a table sponge" laughed Naruto, but she doubted whether it was really the time to joke.

"The class clown there is your weakest slider, you should ignore him, he's a loser" Izuna raised her eyebrows at her sensei, was he doing that on purpose? What did he get out of provoking Naruto like that? Naruto was of course angry about it and now stormed at Kakashi with a kunai, but Kakashi was faster, he grabbed Naruto by the head and held the kunai on his neck

"Don't be in a hurry, I hadn't said 'go' yet" escaped it Kakashi and then let go of Naruto. He's fast but she would be able to keep up with the speed, after all she would soon make sure that she would bear the name 'Shunshin no Izuna'

"Well you attacked me to defeat me, not that bad. How should I put it, I think I'm slowly starting to like you guys." So when someone attacks him he likes him? It's really a weird way to make friends

"Get ready, and ... go!"

With these words we all jumped into the trees and hid, well, all but one.

"Now man versus man okay. Come on," she should have guessed it.

Of course, Naruto wouldn't use his head. His courage was admirable, but she wasn't so sure whether that would help him,

"Compared to the others, you're a little ... weird" that's an understatement "The only weird thing here is your weird hairstyle" and with that, Naruto rushed towards him. He attacked with Taijutsu but Kakashi just avoided him, it got even better, while he kept avoiding Naruto, he also read a book. That went on for quite a while until Kakashi threw Naruto into the river in a ... very strange way.

Izuna already thought that this was it for Naruto, but then suddenly shadow clons from Naruto appeared from the river, who now pounced on Kakashi.

But unfortunately Kakashi used the jutsu of exchange and exchanged with one of Naruto's doppelgangers and thus hid. Naruto of course didn't understand and started beating himself up.

Izuna really couldn't believe that he actually passed the exam. When he finally got the idea to dissolve the jutsu, he also noticed that Kakashi had tricked him, and so if that wasn't embarrassing enough, he also tapped into one of the by far most obvious traps, and was now hanging upside down from a tree.

Kakashi went up to him to explain something to him, which unfortunately she could not hear. But it didn't matter when Shurikens suddenly flew out of one of the trees and hit Kakashi, but he had used the jutsu of the exchange again. Izuna was pretty sure that it was Sasuke who attacked and was now probably looking for a new hiding place.

Izuna sighed once before she decided to take a closer look at the current situation. There were four of them, our opponent is a Jonin. Trying to get the bells alone wouldn't work, but if they all tried together they'd have a chance.

The question remains, however, which of them would go back to the academy? She hardly believed anyone would go back willingly. However, in order for them to have any chance, they had to work together.

Shisui had explained to her back then, that most ninja missions are always carried out in teams, that was the most important. Okay, so first of all she'd get everyone together and then they'd make a plan.

It would be best if she started with Naruto, so she left her hiding place and released Naruto from the tree.

"Everything okay?" She asked him and helped him up "Yes, thanks Izuna", he thanked her with a smile, which she replied "I think we should better find the others, and-" Izuna started to explain her plan, but Naruto was already gone

"Wow thanks for listening, really nice"

Izuna sighs again, that will be more difficult than she thought. She decided to look for the other two first, maybe she was more lucky with the two of them. She was now walking through the forest when she suddenly heard an ear-deafening scream. Yes, that's just how Sakura screams, she ran quickly in the direction from which the scream came, when Izuna found an unconscious Sakura who was trapped in a genjutsu. Izuna rolled her eyes, it was clear that she didn't want to know what kind of genjutsu she was in. Izuna decided not to torch and to free Sakura from the genjutsu,

"Izuna? What happened and where is Sasuke?" Izuna just rolls her eyes, sure, the first thing she asked for was Sasuke, what else should she accepted?

"You were in a genjutsu, I broke it. I don't know where Susu is, but I think we should go looking for him" She suggested and Sakura nodded. Together they looked around for him until after a while they saw him trapped in an earth jutsu

"Izuna, Sakura?" He escaped in surprise

"Oh my God, Sasuke is just a talking head !!!" Sakura screamed in panic and passed out, again. Great and that was her team member? She wondered if Shisui had such weirdos on the team at his time as well

"And she should be my partner." Sasuke rolled his eyes

"Izuna, could you get me out of here?" I just gave Sasuke a hypocritical grin

"What do I get for it, Susu?" Sasuke sighs annoyed, it was clear that Izuna would not help him just like that, that was typical again

"I'll buy you Dangos later"

"Deal"

and with one blow, in which she had bundled her chakra, she hit the floor, so that it formed a small crater and Sasuke could climb out.

"Thank you" Sasuke nodded to her and Izuna just grinned

"Don't forget the dangos" again Sasuke just rolled his eyes before the two twisted to Sakura.

The two decided to wait until she woke up again, and when that was the case, the first thing Sakura did was throw herself around Sasuke's neck. Izuna could only roll her eyes again at the sight, did Sakura notice how silly she was acting here?

"I want to have the bell by noon, it will be close but it doesn't matter" came it from Sasuke, when he annoyed, pushed Sakura away from him

"Good point, I think we should maybe-" but Izuna couldn't go on talking, because, there Sakura interrupted her,

"Are you still trying to get the bell?" Was Izuna really just surrounded by idiots, what kind of question was that? That was the task here

"I already touched one thing before, the next time it's mine" really, very nice for Sasuke but he should hear Izuna out "Could you both listen to me ?!" Izuna was more than just irritated, she hated it when people just ignored her. Was it really that difficult for them, to just let her finish speaking.

"This is really difficult, that's impress Sasuke, how do you do it, I think only you can do it. You know it will soon be noon that means we are running out of time, we should just give up and try again next semester" Of course something like that came from Sakura, Izuna was pretty sure that the only reason she wanted to be a ninja, was Sasuke. It's so sad that you could laugh about it.

"I'm the only one who can really defeat this person" Sasuke wasn't really aware of what he was saying to Sakura, even Izuna was surprised. Was he really trying here to explain, to the superficial Sakura, what was going on in him, had he found himself in a genjutsu, or what ?

"What? Who eh '... do you mean the Sensei?" Of course Sakura didn't know what all this was about "I cried that day" Sasuke sank into his memories and now Izuna also remembered that night. She had to be honest, however, that that night was nothing to her compared to when she lost her brother. Her brother had been everything to her, and when he died there was nothing left that she could have lost.

"Why did you cry then?" Sakura asked hesitantly "It was mine, em" but Sasuke stopped when he came back to reality and understood what he was about to do. "What had happened back then?" Sakura wanted to know

"I'm an avenger Sakura, that means I have to be stronger than everyone else and that's why I'll go through this training here" Izuna just sighs, she was worried about Sasuke. She hoped that revenge wouldn't rule his life forever. Before she could think about it any further, the alarm clock suddenly rang

"I've wasted way too much time" and with these words Sasuke disappeared, and shortly afterwards Sakura too. Izuna sighed again, well, so much for the topic 'Call everyone together' exasperated, she also went to the meeting point.

Once there, everyone sat down in front of the tree trunks, Izuna sat next to Sasuke by the tree trunk, while Naruto was tied to the middle tree trunk.

"Oh, oh, the stomach growls," Kakashi stated as Naruto's stomach growled, just like the other's. Izuna briefly touched her stomach and looked grumbling at Kakashi.

"Well, stupid. By the way, as far as this training is concerned. I have decided not to send any of you back to the Ninja Academy" that surprised everyone, but Izuna was more confused than surprised. What did that mean now? What was he going to do? Sasuke was just as skeptical as she, Sakura and Naruto, however, were completely over the moon, because they really thought they had passed

"Does that mean we passed?" Naruto beamed with joy

"Yes, it means that you all four have fallen through and will not return to the academy " and with that the whole joy was gone. It was clear that he wouldn't just let them pass, they all didn't get anything in line.

"What do you mean, failed?" came it upset from Naruto

"That we can never become ninjas again? We should be sent back to the academy, if we don't get the bells by noon, you can't just change the rules Sensei Kakashi" well, actually he can, he is after all the sensei

"Well you don't think like real ninjas but like small children, how little troubles" that made Sasuke angry, which is why he wanted to storm at Kakashi, but Izuna grabbed his arm and pulled him back

"Stop storming blindly at him, that won't help you either" Sasuke just grumbled angrily, but sat down next to her again

"Izuna is right, you think it's always about you, eh?" Kakashu began now to explain

"You don't know what it means to be a ninja, you think it's a game, huh? Why do you think we divided you into groups, did you ever ask yourself that, huh?" Why have they been divided into groups? Wasn't that obvious? They would carry out missions as a team, so people were put into a team to cover each other's weaknesses, Iruka had also explained that to them.

"Ah, how should we know, we didn't make the rules Sensei!" Naruto was now more than upset and was getting more and more impatient.

Were they all really that stupid or just doing them so? How many whites should Kakashi give you anyway? "Teamwork, right? If we had worked together, we would have passed" Izuna decided to put an end to all this back and forth with

"Exactly"

"We just need to work together, nothing more?" Sakura hadn't expected that, but she wasn't the only

"No, nothing more." That was a bit surprising for Izuna, she had thought that they still needed the bells to survive.

"Now it's too late but if you had attacked me all four at the same time, you might have got hold of the bells, but well, it's to late now." Kakashi was disappointed, but what else did he expect? All the Genins he had up to now have never understood the meaning, as if it had been different with this bunch of guys

"Wait a minute, there are four of us in the team, but there are only three bells, if we had managed to get the bells together, only three would have had one and that would have led to an argument in the group." explained Sakura, true, but if it really only came down to teamwork, it didn't matter. He played them off against each other, in the life of a ninja one is often deceived.

"Exactly, I purposely played you off against each other." Kakashi explained, she knew it, he had deceived her from the start.

"I wanted to see if you succeed in putting the group above your own interests, a Genin must have the ability to work in a team, but hardly any of you are even got the idea." Izuna now noticed how grateful she was that her brother had taught her so much. The others, however, only now seemed to understand how childish they had behaved

"Sakura, you were only worried about Sasuke and not lifted a finger to help Naruto who was standing right next to you." Sakura looked embarrassed when she realized how stupid she had acted. Izuna, however, strongly doubted that she had really understood it.

"And you Naruto, you try everything, all the time just pulling it off on your own." Naruto also saw now, through Kakashi's words, ashamed to the side

"And you Sasuke, from the start you thought you were better than the others, what an arrogant." Sasuke looked angry on the floor, he was annoyed that he hadn't seen through this simple deception

"Izuna was the only one of you who tried to get you to teamwork, but you never heard her." Izuna looked surprised at Kakashi, who gave her a short smile.

"Ninja missions are always carried out in groups, of course you need the special skills of the individual, but the team is the most important and every Shinobi knows that." Kakashi began to explain

"If the individual does not put himself above the group, it leads to the failure of the mission, maybe you even lose a fighter. An example." Kakashi grabbed Sasuke as fast as lightning and held a Kunai to his throat

"Sakura! Kill Naruto or Sasuke will die" Out of reflex and shock, Izuna jumped up and quickly pulled out her Wakizashi. The others were just as shocked and didn't know what to do.

"All that has happened before" Kakashi let go of Sasuke and Izuna calmed down again, she put her Wakizashi away and took a deep breath

"I've never thought about that before" only now did Sakura slowly begin to understand that a ninja has to be ready to give his life, if necessary

"It is quite possible that you have to do it with an easy job, but it can also go about live and death, you could risk your life on every mission" Kakashi went to the monument which wasn't far away. She knew this, Shisui had shown it to her once and also explained to her what it stood for

"Have you ever looked at the stone here, the names that were carved here? They are the names of ninjas who were grounded as heroes in our village" Izuna Immediately noticed how Kakashi voice became more depressed and she could also understood why

"That's it! That's cool. Hey, I have an idea, I think I'll have my name carved into this stone too, I don't feel like living insignificantly and then dying, I want to be a hero Sensei. A hero" Izuna just looked down with a sigh, Naruto really had no idea what kind of stone that was. But she couldn't blame him either, at least he had no one to explain it to him.

"I'm talking about very special heroes" Kakashi looked briefly at Naruto "Eh, I don't understand, what do you mean by Sensei?" Naruto didn't understand what Kakashi meant, a hero was a hero, right? What other heroes should there be?

"Well, tell me!" Naruto got more impatient when Kakashi didn't answer "They are all SIB heroes" and that made the mood even more depressing

"Oh, it sounds super cool for me" Naruto didn't know what he meant by that but it sounded more than cool to him.

"Naruto" Izuna now intervened and looked at Naruto insistently, who just looked at her confused. "SIB means: Sacrificed in battle. They no longer live." Now the penny seemed to have fallen too and he looked ashamed at the floor.

"It's a memorial stone. The names of my best friends are carved here" Izuna thought so, he had been a ninja for a long time and of course had seen more than them.

"Well, I'll give you another chance, but it won't be easier, you only have three hours to get a bell." Izuna looked surprised at Kakashi, he gave them another chance? She had the feeling that there was something else behind it

"You can now have lunch to recharge your strenght, with the exception of Naruto" it was clear, no wonder he had tied him to the tree trunk

"What ?!" Naruto was not very excited about it and looked up at Kakshi "That's the punishment for the fact that you wanted to eat alone earlier and whoever tried to give him food failed immediately." Kakashi explained and Izuna watched him critically

"I make the rules here and you follow them, understand?" we all just nodded silently and Kakashi left us with that. When Izuna was sure that he was gone, the first thing she did was to cut Naruto loose,
