Sakura POV

After guarding Mr. Tazuna at the bridge, I went to buy food for dinner with him.

Sakura: 'This is a store? There's nothing here.'

???: Yeesh, this place is run down.

Tazuna and I both jumped back in shock when we heard Ryu behind us.

Tazuna: Are you trying to kill me before Zabuza does with a heart attack?!

Sakura: We need to put a bell on you or something!

Ryu: What can I say? When you can travel faster then light, it's hard to not scare someone with your sudden appearance. Anyway here, I'll pay.

He took out a wallet and tossed it to Tazuna. When he opened it it was filled to the brim with money.

Tazuna: How did a kid like you get so much money?!

Ryu: I go on A-rank missions 5 times a day after we finish our normal missions, and they come with high paying rewards.

Sakura: Five a day?!

Inner Sakura: CHA!!! THATS WAY TO MUCH FOR ONE KID TO DO!!

I then felt someone grab my butt.

Sakura: YOU PERVERT!!

I swung around to kick him in the face knocking him on the floor.

After a few minutes we started walking back to Mr. Tazuna's house.

Tazuna: You really surprised me back there. Girls around here don't fight like that.

Sakura: They should! Something is seriously wrong here!

Ryu: Being honest he was kinda asking for that since he probably saw the head-

Just then Ryu stopped mid sentence, and I felt someone grab me there again.

Sakura: Listen buster!

Ryu: Let go of my jacket or-

We turned around to see 2 kids, twins. One bow and one girl. They were taken back by Ryu, who honestly might have hurt them if they weren't kids. They hesitantly put there hands out in front of us.

Twins: Please?

The look on Ryu's face was something I had never seen from him before: sadness and pity. He stared at them for a second before pulling out his wallet.

Ryu: Here, that should be enough for both of you two last for a bit.

The two kids stared at him with joy in their eyes. I pulled out some candy from my bag to give to the kids.

Sakura: Here.

Twins: Thank you.

They ran of after thanking us. I looked at Ryu and he was slightly smiling.

Sakura: 'What is wrong with this place?'

After the kids were gone, Tazuna explained that the bridge will let their village prosper, and there would be hope for them once again.

Ryu: Sakura, I'm gonna need you to keep guarding Tazuna by yourself for a bit.

Sakura: What? Why?

Ryu: Because I realize that this land can't have any hope without that bridge. And Tazuna, you need someone with the power to protect it.

Sakura: Ryu...

Ryu: I'm not gonna let Gatō and his men do as they like with this village. I promise, I won't let anything happen to you Tazuna.

I saw a smirk on his face before he was gone in the blink of an eye.

Sakura: He's so cool sometimes.

We then started walking back.

Sakura: 'Wait a minute. If the 4th Hokage was they Yellow Flash because when he teleported the flash was yellow, then Wouldn't Ryu be the Red Flash?

Ryu POV

After some training in the woods, I teleported back to the village to get some food for dinner. We were all around the dinner table eating.

Tsunami: Ryu, your such a kind child. Not only did you bring ingredients, you helped cook too, and it taste amazing.

Kakashi: I don't even think the four of us knew he could cook.

Sakura: Were did you learn to do that?

Ryu: Eh, it's a gift.

Naruto and Sasuke were wolfing the food down.

Ryu: 'Don't they know that it'll be even harder for them to train if they're stuffing there faces with food?'

Shojo: I guess they're really trying to surpass each other. And then they'll try to go after you.

Ryu: 'Yeah that's never gonna happen.'

Naruto and Sasuke (In perfect unison): I WANT SOME MORE!

In then looked at each other and glared. They then puked in perfect synchronization.

Ryu: 'Frankly I'm kinda insulted that they just puked up my food.'

Sakura: DON'T EAT SO MICH IF YOUR GONNA PUKE IT UP!

Sasuke: I, have to eat.

Naruto: And I have to eat more than him. It's the only possible way I can get strong enough to beat him.

Kakashi: That's true, but puking won't help.

Ryu: Why don't you two just take your time so you won't get sick. That way you can train more.

After a bit we started cleaning up I noticed a photo on the wall but didn't ask about it. Sakura on the other hand-

Sakura (Being nosey): Excuse me, this picture is torn. Is there some reason for that? Inari you kept glancing at it all through dinner. It looks like there was someone else in it, it's kinda strange right?

Ryu: 'Could she be any more nosey?'

Tsunami: It's my husband.

Tazuna: They used to call him a hero in this land.

Inari then got up and walked out of the room.

Tsunami: Inari were are you going? Father you know not to talk about him like that in front of Inari.

The then stormed out to go after him.

Sakura: Inari's so- I mean what happened to him?

Kakashi: Is there a story behind this?

Tazuna: ....He wasn't his real father he came into our family later, and he brought so much happiness. He and Inari were very close. In those days, Inari used to laugh all the time... but then...!

I then started to hear his voice tremble, and I saw tears dropping from his eyes.

Tazuna: All that ended. He never laughs or smiles anymore. Ever since the day everything changed.

Insert Kaisa flashback here.

He told us everything. About Inari's past, about his father Kaisa, how he brought happiness to this land, how Gatō took that happiness, and how he never lost hope, even after death.

We all stayed silent and then everyone looked at me. It me a second to realize but I had activated my Sharingan unconsciously. I got up and started walking away. Naruto also got up but he fell down on his face.

Sakura: What are you going down there Naruto?

Kakashi: You should take the day off, no more training. You've used to much chakra. If you push any harder it could kill you.

Naruto: I'm gonna prove it.

Tazuna: Hmm?

Sakura: Prove what?

Naruto: That it's true! That in this world... there are real heroes!

Ryu: I don't consider myself a hero. But what I choose to be... is someone who has the power to help.

Kakashi: I was talking to you too Ryu. I can tell from you not teleporting immediately you've been going past your limit.

Ryu: Thing is I was comparing my chakra levels to yours, then I remembered: I have more chakra, and I restore it faster. Don't worry, I'll be fine.

Time skip to Ryu training in the forest.

I used Rakurai for the 10th time for the day.

Ryu: Huh I really do have that much more chakra.

I weaved a few hand signs and blew away most of the stones around me.

Ryu: Ok... got the charge up time down to 10 seconds... allot better in terms of use. On the other hand... I'm to tired to use anything but Flying Raijin and low level Jutsu. I think I'm gonna move to a cleaner area.

Shojo: Good idea.

I walked away from the area and found a nice open field.

Ryu: That's convenient.

I then laid down. I deactivated my Sharingan and closed my eyes.

Haku POV

After I ran into that blonde kid I walked over to a different place to find more herbs, when I ran into the kid who's hairs base was black but he had yellow bangs. It was the Lone Wolf, lying down sleeping out in the open.

Haku: 'This would be an opportune chance to kill him, in fact it might be the only chance I'd get.'

I slowly reached my hand towards him, forming ice in my hand, but I saw how peaceful he looked just sleeping there.

Haku: Hey wake up. You'll get sick if you stay here.

I shook him and when he woke up, he looked over to see right in front of his face, and we both started blushing, since I had no idea I was that close to him.

Ryu: Um, hello. What are you doing out here?

Haku: I could be asking you the same. I came hear looking for herbs.

Ryu: Is there someone your trying to nurse back to health?

Haku: Yes. There is.

Ryu: Well it's early enough so I guess I could help you out. What do the herbs you need look like?

Haku: Like these ones.

He then took a close look at one of the herbs and stood up.

Ryu: Ok, I'll be right back.

He then disappeared from my sight. I couldn't tell were he was even at first, but then I saw him near a tree, then one further back, and then he was right back in front of me. I moved back in surprise at his speed.

Haku: 'So the rumors are true, he really can teleport and can move at the speed of light.'

Ryu: Surprised?

I nodded my head with good reason. I then looked at how many herbs he found and I was amazed.

Ryu: Phew. You start work early huh?

Haku: I like it early, it's calm and I didn't think I'd find anyone sleeping in the woods.

Ryu: I guess you and I have something in common. We both can appreciate peace and quiet.

Haku: What were you doing out here anyway?

Ryu: I was training.

Haku: So your a ninja? Because I noticed that headband.

Ryu: Yeah. I was working on a new Jutsu I created and I pretty much finished it.

Haku: 'A Jutsu? If I found out I might stand a better chance of beating him.' What is it?

Ryu: Well I usually don't tell random strangers about my Jutsu.

Haku: 'Of course it wouldn't be that easy.'

Ryu: But today happens to be the day I'm feeling a bit nice so I guess just once won't hurt.

Haku: 'I stand corrected'

Ryu: Ok watch, I'll only do this once.

He held his arm out and I felt a slight electrical discharge come from him. A bunch lightning formed around his hand until it was halfway to his elbow. It then began to surge and three blade like claws extended out from the chakra. He then charged at a tree with extreme speed and he shredded it in half.

Haku: Amazing... it's incredible that your chakra is even visible. So does this mean your training for something dangerous?

Ryu: Yeah you could say that.

Haku: You seem very strong, isn't that enough for you.

Ryu: To be honest, enough is never enough for me. I train so I can reach a certain goal of mine. Until then, I can't stop gaining power.

Haku: Why is that goal so important to you?

Ryu: Let's just say it's to get back at a certain person... a person who's incredibly strong. Even as I am now, I may not be able to do what I must. And there are other people that I know that I need to keep him away from.

Haku: So do you think you could call these people precious to you?

Ryu: Precious to me?

Haku: You see, when a person has something precious that they want to protect, then they become genuinely strong.

He then stopped to think about something.

Tiny Flashback from Ryu.

Ryu POV

We were on a mission and a bandit knocked me back.

Kid Ryu: That all you got?

He then saw that Mei had her guard down after beating one of his henchmen. He went to stab her with a knife, but I threw a kunai and teleported right in front of him and punched him down to the ground.

Mei: Ryu?

Kid Ryu: Let me make this clear, if you ever try to hurt my friends again, I'll kill you.

He was knocked out after the punch I sent his way. I then walked over to Mei.

Kid Ryu: Are you okay Mei?

Mei: Yeah but, Ryu, you eyes.

Kid Ryu: Huh?

I went over to a nearby puddle and checked my reflection. My eyes were red and had what looked like a coma in each of them. I didn't notice at first but I awakened my Sharingan to protect Mei.

Flashback Over

Ryu: Yeah. I guess I did have people I care about. And I do now too.

I then picked up my basket and stood up.

Haku: As long as you have someone who you care for, your power will never cease to grow.

Ryu: Well it was nice meeting you. Thanks for waking me up. See you around miss.

Haku: Oh and by the way,

A/n: Here it comes.

Haku: I'm only 13.

I then walked away.

Ryu POV

I was then shocked to find out that she was my age even though she had wiser words then Kakashi.

Ryu: 'Huh, I like her.'

Shojo: Ryu's got a crush~

Ryu: 'Shut up! And there was something weird about her scent. I feel like I've smelt it before, but it's different. It's probably the perfume she's wearing, stuff like that always gives me a headache.'

I then heard Naruto and Sasuke come from behind me. I could tell they were trying to hide themselves but it wasn't working.

Ryu: Nice try guys, but it'll take 3 more years before you can get past my senses for even a minute.

Naruto: How do you always know?!

Sasuke: Do you have eyes in the back of your head or something.

Ryu: How about this if either of you can hit me in one minute I'll tell you my secret. And you both can go at me together.

Naruto: And they say we're overconfident.

Ryu: Yeah but the difference between us is that I can actually back it up. Now just attack me.

They both followed my order and attacked me together but I was dodging them with no effort at all. Sasuke and Naruto then looked at each other and nodded in unison.

Ryu: What are you two planning?

They both weaved hand signs for Jutsu.

Sasuke: Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!

Naruto: Wind Style: Gale surge!

Sasuke shot a fireball while Naruto increased the power of the flames with the surge of wind. The combination Jutsu shot straight at me and I didn't have time to dodge. Having no other choice I weaved hand signs for my own Jutsu.

Ryu: Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!

I shot out a massive fireball that was even bigger than theirs and I made sure to hold back so I wouldn't hurt them. They canceled each other out and one minute had passed.

Ryu: Times up. Guess I'll have to tell you all another time.

Sasuke: We never stood a chance did we?

Ryu: Not in the slightest. But I wanted to see how far you came, and I'll say, I'm impressed.

Time skip to Sakura and Kakashi searching for the three in the forest.

I saw Sakura and Kakashi searching for us up from the tree I was at. Naruto threw down a kunai from a beach he was lying on.

Naruto: High enough for you guys?

He then got up on the branch and started falling but I could tell it was a prank. He then was sticking to the tree upside down.

Naruto: Haha! Just kidding!

Ryu: Naruto you might wanna be careful when you get down their. Cause Sakura's gonna kill you.

Kakashi: Why do I have a feeling that this won't end well?

Just then Naruto's feet unstuck to the tree, and this time it wasn't a joke.

Sakura: You just had to push it show off!!

Naruto started falling but Sasuke got there before he could fall down.

Sasuke: You really are a total loser Naruto.

Just then Sasuke dropped too.

Ryu: GoodGrief

I flashed to the branch and grabbed both of them.

Ryu: Now this is just stupid.

Sakura: Alright! Way to go Ryu!!

Kakashi: If I'm still sane by the time I finish there training it'll be a miracle.

Time skip to Naruto and Sasuke climbing up all the way the the top of the tree.

The three of us were all at the top of the tree, with me getting up the first try and Naruto and Sasuke, taking allot longer.

Ryu: Good job.

Sasuke: Let's go back.

Naruto: Alright!

They grabbed on to me and we teleported back to were everyone was.

Kakashi: So I take it you've finally done it?

Naruto: Yeah! We finally climbed all the way to the top.

Kakashi: Good, then starting tomorrow, you'll be bodyguards to the bridge builder.

Naruto: All right!!

Naruto fell back bringing me and Sasuke with him.

Sasuke: Agh! You are such a loser!

Ryu: Next time you want to do that with us there don't.

After some time passed we ate dinner.

Tazuna: It won't be long now, soon the bridge will be complete.

Inari: But why?

I put my head up a bit at his question.

Naruto: What you say?

He slammed his hand on the table.

Inari: All this stupid training is just a waste of time! Gato's got a whole army! They'll beat you down and the destroy you!! These cool things you all say, they don't mean anything! Now matter what you do the strong always win and the weak always loose!

Naruto: Just speak for yourself. It won't be like that for me.

Inari: Why Don't you be quiet! Just looking at you makes me sick! You don't know anything about this country your just butting in! Always laughing and playing around, you don't know what it's like to suffer and be treated like dirt!!

At his last sentence my started to get angry. I didn't  notice for a second but my pupils were replaced by slits like a snakes.

Ryu: You think that you have the saddest life of all don't you? Like your the only person here who's felt the pain of loss. Well guess what, if you just keep feeling bad for yourself and not face it, your nothing but a damn coward!

For the first time I actually raised my voice in front of everyone.

Sakura: Ryu! He's just-

Ryu: Save it Sakura. I'm pretty sure you the only person in this room who doesn't know what real pain is like.

She the reeled back in shock. Naruto agreed with me before he walked out of the room. I then heard Inari cry a bit before I vanished away.

Kakashi POV

After his little outburst, I couldn't find Ryu anywhere. More time passed and I saw Inari on the porch.

Kakashi: Can I talk to you?

He then slightly turned around to look at me.

I sat down next to him before speaking.

Kakashi: Ryu can be a little harsh sometimes. And not just him, Naruto too. But they don't hate you. Your grandfather told us what happened. To your father. You probably don't know this but, Ryu and Naruto grew up without a fathers too. One thing about Ryu is that he saw his mother murdered before his own eyes when he was 4. She was brutally killed by enemy ninja from the stone. And his father he never knew. He didn't want socialize with anyone and because of that he got into fights with kids older than him. Even though he won most of the time, he still got hurt every time. Still I've never seen him or Naruto cry, sulk, or give up. He's always willing to help. He wants to be strong for others, that's the kind person he strives to be in life. He's willing to lay down his life to be the strongest he can become. My guess is they got tired of crying. Even though they're  young and still learning, they know what it means to be strong, like your father did. They know better than any of us what your going through. What Ryu said earlier as cruel as it sounded, he probably told himself a thousand times. He told you that not to be mean, but to give you the strength to move past it.
