Kushina

As chaos reigned and danger drew near, Kushina huddled inside her home, her fragile body trembling, cradling her newborn soul. Menma slept soundly beside her. Their innocent faces wore peaceful smiles, unaware of the impending darkness that loomed.

"Bring the boy!" A distant yet ominous voice echoed.

"What about the girl?" Another voice questioned.

The mother held her children closer, knowing she could not shield them from the impending threat. The ravages of war surrounded them, relentless screams and the stench of blood filling the air.

Clutching her little ones, she awaited the shinobi's approach, a desperate attempt to protect them with all the strength she had left. Yet, she knew it wouldn't be enough.

Two men entered her bearing the sign of Konoha shinobi. "The Fourth has asked us to escort you."

She took one look at their determined faces and said, "My children come with me."

The shinobi gave her a saddened look and took the children from her.

Reluctantly, she accepted the bitter truth. It was for their safety, for their future, that this separation was necessary. The monstrous, nine-tailed beast threatened their village's existence, and it had to be stopped.

With the new found resolve, Kushina rose and joined the others, stepping onto the battlefield, where shattered souls and scarlet soil intermingled.

However, before she ventured forth, a concerned voice called out to her, pleading for her safety. Sanako, a red-haired lady with weariness etched upon her face, worried for her well-being.

"You cannot go! The portal I told you about is almost complete, and it's too dangerous for you!" the lady screamed, " The Fourth Hokage is already doing everything he can to save our village!"

Kushina turned to her, offering a weary smile. She remembered Uzumaki Sanako–now, Uchiha Sanako, had once told her she was practicing a new un-sealing jutsu. It was supposed to unseal the door to anywhere she wanted. A sad smile crept up her face.

Sanako had been looking after Menma for ever since Uchiha Mikoto had told Kushina about her. She was good at taking care of the two boys– Sasuke, Mikoto's son and her own, so there was no doubt she could handle one more.

"You have two sons to protect, both potential heirs to the Uchiha clan. If you had to choose between them, whom would you prioritize?" Kushina asked Menma's caretaker.

Sanako's confusion deepened as she hesitated before responding. "I may love them both as my own, but only one is the true Uchiha heir."

Kushina nodded, understanding her dilemma. "You see, I faced a similar choice. Konoha–our village, or the two lives I held in my hands. As the wife of the Fourth Hokage, it is my duty to protect them all. I trusted that Konoha would provide a safe haven for my children, as Minato, my husband, had foreseen."

Resolute, Kushina left Sanako behind, venturing into the dark night where the Nine-Tailed monster awaited its demise.

Rain cascaded, washing away her wounds as Kushina witnessed Namikaze Minato, clutching their daughter. His plan unfolded, but she sensed his fading strength. Dread engulfed her as she watched him seal the monster's power, splitting it into Yin and Yang...

No, not that seal! Her mind screamed, witnessing Menma being entrusted with one of those powers.

Little Menma's eyes remained shut, but her peaceful smile faded, replaced by tears.

The Nine-Tailed beast howled in agony, and despair enveloped Kushina as Minato crumpled, coughing blood.

"Minato!" She cried out, rushing to his side.

"Take her to safety... please," he managed to utter. In disbelief, she held their daughter tight, her cries echoing in her ears.

"What about Naruto?" She desperately asked.

"We cannot wait. You are weakened from the extraction. If we delay, we may lose them both," he gasped. Minato looked at her, his smile gentle. "I promise Naruto will be safe too. Our children will be."

She nodded, tears streaming down her face, and hastened to Sanako with their daughter in her arms. Yet, as she reached her, the portal behind the caretaker closed, inch by agonizing inch.

She handed Menma to Sanako, who was already holding her own son, and pushed her into the closing void. She watched as Sanako's disbelief covered her face. She screamed something– tried to tell her something but all in vain. She disappeared with the portal.

A soft cry sounded behind Kushina and her eyes widened. It was then that she realized one child remained.

She forgot Sasuke.

But it was too late. Gasping and weeping, she covered the other child with a cloth, bearing the Uchiha mark—a red and white fan.

As she turned, she beheld a five-year-old boy at the doorway, his presence startling. One glance confirmed his identity—the prodigious genius, Itachi. He cradled the Uchiha child, preparing to depart. Then, he hesitated.

"Why do you trust Sanako so much?" he queried, his tone implying he sought no answer.

Summoning a weak smile, Kushina replied, "Perhaps you will understand in time... Itachi."

Minato's anguished cries echoed in the distance, and she knew she had to leave.

Running and weeping, she witnessed his struggle. Amidst the village's jubilant cheers, they wept, knowing that with the rain's end, their lives would be washed away.

They embraced, clasping hands as the Nine-Tailed beast's monstrous nail pierced them both. Determined, she prevented it from reaching Naruto, shielding him from harm, not even allowing a scratch.

A drop of their blood splattered onto Naruto's cheeks, mingling with his tears, as he gazed at them with an untroubled expression. Oblivious to the weight he would bear.

Before channeling their remaining power into sealing the other half of the beast's power within Naruto, they spoke to him, imparting wisdom and caution, cherishing those precious moments. She, in particular, seized Minato's time to share her hopes.

Tears streamed down her face as Minato wept, and they held their child close, completing the seal that would keep the monster at bay.

The village erupted in celebration, but they wept, for they knew that with the dispersing rain, they too would be washed away...

Kushina accepted their impending demise, their sacrifice echoing through eternity.

A/N

Hello kawaiis! I hope you enjoyed the chapter. I agree this changes a small part of the canon backstory but the upcoming chapters will not change anything else. It will be like a Naruto Movie, happens but doesn't alter the actual story!

Do not forget to comment, vote & share!

Cheers~
