Chapter Eleven

Time Skip: 3 hours later...

Shizuma was running around with Kiba, Akamaru and Ōkami, racing all of them down the streets. After racing for the hundredth lap, Shizuma finished second, behind Kiba, with sweat running down her face as she placed her hands on her knees. Kiba scratched the back of his head as he looked at his cousin with a worried look on his face.

"Why do you want to race so much?" Kiba asked as he folded his arms. Shizuma was panting and stood up straight, wiping he sweat off her face as she faced her cousin.

"It's for my training. Let's do it again!" Shizuma spoke up as she clenched her fists. Kiba stepped back and frowned at his cousin.

"How about we take a break first? I'll go get us some drinks." Kiba said before he ran off into the house they lived in with Akamaru. Shizuma sighed as she sat on the path with Ōkami laying close to her.

"You're fast." A voice spoke, making Shizuma look up. Her eyes widened as she flinched back when she saw Rai sitting in front of her.

"Lord Rai! When did you get there?" Shizuma asked with a raised eyebrow. Rai chuckled as he shook his head.

"That is not important. What is important, why do you wish to race your cousin so much?" Rai questioned as he looked up at Shizuma with a soft look in his eyes. Shizuma released a sigh as she hugged her legs while looking down.

"I thought if I could train myself to run fast, I could hold onto you while you go at a fast speed..." Shizuma explained with a sad look in her eyes. Rai sighed before shaking his head in disapproval.

"No one can hold onto me Shizuma." Rai said, making Shizuma look up with a raised eyebrow, confusion showing on her face. "Kireina is able to do that, but after years of training with her. I just wanted to see how long you could hold on for before you got knocked off." Rai said, making Shizuma's eyes widen.

All of a sudden, smoke appeared in between the two, making Shizuma flinch back. When the smoke evaporated, Shizuma saw there was a large scroll in place. Rai used his snout to unroll the scroll and it showed one signature that was created by blood. The signature was Kireina's.

"We shall hold a contract until the day one of us die, all you have to do is use your blood to summon me." Rai explained with a soft look on his face. Shizuma's eyes were wide, but then she smiled widely. She bit her thumb hard enough to make it bleed and wrote her name in blood in a small circle. Once Shizuma's name was on the scroll, the scroll rolled itself up and disappeared. "I look forward to working with you, Shizuma of Lightning." Rai then said before disappearing in smoke.

"Hey Shizu, I got our drinks." Kiba called out as he ran to Shizuma with two juice boxes in his hands. Shizuma smiled up at Kiba and took one of the boxes. "H...hey! You're bleeding!" Kiba exclaimed as he flinched back, making Shizuma look down at her hand.

"Oh, it's nothing." Shizuma assured, grinning at her cousin, who just looked at her in confusion. She was upset earlier... And now she's happy...

Meanwhile...

Setsuka panted with sweat running down her face as she stood in the training fields. She decided to go back to try and learn the Fire Style: Phoenix Flower. So far she has been able to hit the edge of a target; however she wasn't quite able to hit it fully. Yuuki hopped over to the petite girl with a towel in his small paws. He stood beside Setsuka's legs and showed her the towel. Setsuka smiled softly before crouching down and taking the towel from his paws.

"Thank you, Yuuki." Setsuka spoke softly as she petted the small white rabbit on the head. Yuuki looked up at Setsuka with a worried expression.

"You should take a break. You've been at it for hours now." Yuuki stated. Setsuka smiled before wiping the sweat off her forehead and standing up straight.

"Thank you for caring Yuuki. I'll take a break after one more try." Setsuka passed Yuuki the towel, who sighed before hopping away with the cloth. Once standing beside a tree, Yuuki turned around to watch Setsuka once again. He sighed as he shook his head. She was going to work herself to exhaustion and end up collapsing if she's not careful enough. Just then, Yuuki noticed a small glow in the corner of his eyes. He jumped back and turned his head to see the Phoenix, Kaisai, floating beside him. She smiled softly at the white rabbit.

"Hello Yuuki." She said, making Yuuki flinch back.

"Y-you're that Phoenix!" Yuuki gasped as his ears stood up tall, alarmed from the Phoenix's sudden appeared. The Phoenix nodded her head before turning it to look at Setsuka, who continued to do the hand signs.

"Fire Style: Fire Phoenix Jutsu!" Setsuka shouted as she placed two fingers beside her mouth. Just then she shot several small fireballs out of her mouth and they all began to aim at the target in front of her. Setsuka watched with a sparkle appearing in her eyes as the fire got closer and closer to the target, however her smile disappeared as a sad look appeared in her eyes as the fire suddenly blew out before hitting the target. Setsuka sighed as she hung her head.

"That is what happens when you train too hard and don't have enough chakra left, child." Kaisai spoke up, making Setsuka jump. She turned around and stood up straight, thinking it was Kireina scolding her as her sensei has done that several times; however Setsuka was surprised to see Kaisai flying beside Yuuki.

"M-Miss Kaisai!" Setsuka gasped in panic before quickly bowing. Yuuki placed his paw on his head with a sigh escaping his lips. A small chuckle was heard from Kaisai, making both Yuuki and Setsuka look up at her.

"Child do not worry. Kireina has spoken with me and I have seen with my own eyes what you are capable of. I wish to make a contract with you, as you have impressed me with your determination, young one." Kaisai explained softly as she flew towards Setsuka. Setsuka's eyes widened with her mouth opening slightly as well in shock. Did she hear Kaisai right?

"D...Did I hear you right? You wish to make a contract with me?" Setsuka gasped in shock as she stared at the Phoenix in disbelief. Kaisai nodded her head softly and suddenly, an opened scroll appeared in front of Setsuka. Setsuka looked down to see the scroll had one signature that was created by blood. The signature belonged to Kireina.

"We shall hold a contract until the day one of us die, all you have to do is use your blood to summon me." Kaisai explained with a soft tone, looking at Setsuka with a kind smile. Setsuka smiled brightly, her eyes sparkling. She bit her thumb hard enough to make it bleed and wrote her name in blood in a small circle. Once Setsuka's name was on the scroll, the scroll rolled itself up and disappeared. "I look forward to working with you, Setsuka Uchiha of fire." Kaisai spoke before she suddenly disappeared. Setsuka looked at Yuuki with a big smile.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, don't get smug because you have a contract with the Phoenix." Yuuki said as he hopped over to Setsuka, making the young Uchiha laugh softly.

Elsewhere...

Saske was in her garden, her arms out as she stood in a T form. Her eyes were closed as she focused all of her chakra onto her feet. She had several bruises and a lot of dirt on her from falling/failing at the jutsu Kūki wishes for her to perfect. From a distance, Hinata was watching her cousin with a hopeful look in her eyes. Her father and Hanabi were watching too. Hinata's father wore a serious expression on his face as he watched the young Hyūga, while Hanabi watched with a sparkle in her eye as she looked up to her cousin, who she has never beaten in a fight before.

All of a sudden, Saske's feet began to leave the ground as she stepped forward. She was walking on air. Hinata's lips formed into a smile as her father and sister had wide eyes and their mouths open slightly. Saske stopped walking and opened her eyes. All of a sudden however, she began to wobble. Hinata's smile disappeared as she flinched back after watching Saske hit the ground. Hinata's father returned to his normal expression while Hanabi wore a disappointed expression.

"Come on Hanabi; let's continue with your training." Hiashi stated as he began to walk away. Hanabi followed her father as Hinata sighed softly. She looked back at Saske who was sitting up, her arms shaking slightly. Saske had one eye closed as she rubbed her left arm with her right hand, when suddenly a crow landed on her knee. Saske looked at the crow to see it was Kūki.

"L...Lord Kūki...?" Saske questioned as she opened both her eyes.

"That was a good try, walking on air is indeed a difficult thing to accomplish." Kūki spoke as he raised his head. Saske sighed as she looked away. Kūki suddenly jumped off Saske's knee and stood beside her. A scroll then appeared between the two, making Saske flinch back slightly. "Your hard work shows that you are a good ninja. I wish to form a contract with you, Saske of the Air." The scroll then opened to reveal one other signature written in blood; Kireina's signature. "We shall hold a contract until the day one of us die, all you have to do is use your blood to summon me." Kūki explained with a soft tone, looking at Setsuka with a kind smile. Saske nodded her head, a small smile appearing on her lips as she wrote her signature. She bit her thumb hard enough to make it bleed and wrote her name in blood in a small circle. Once Setsuka's name was on the scroll, the scroll rolled itself up and disappeared. "I look forward to working with you, Saske Hyūga of the air."

And with that, Kūki disappeared in a poof of smoke. Saske stood up, feeling accomplished when suddenly Hinata hugged her cousin, congratulating her for all of her hard work. Just as the two were hugging, Neiji was walking by. He stopped and looked at the two. He smiled slightly before he continued to walk away.

Meanwhile:

Sachi was listening to Shikaku about his Shadow Possession Jutsu's, as she began to question him on how he makes them so strong and long lasting. She yawned slightly as the two walked through the streets of Konoha. They were walking to the Hokage building, when Shikaku suddenly stopped the small girl.

"I've got some work to do now. I'll tell you the rest later, ok?" Shikaku asked as he messed up Sachi's hair. Sachi nodded her head and watched her Uncle walk into the Hokage building. Sachi then sighed before turning around. She then stopped when she saw Mizu standing in front of her. Sachi blinked before flinching back, startled by the Deer's sudden appearance.

"L-Lady Mizu, w-w-what are you doing here?!" Sachi exclaimed in shock as she stood up straight.

"Follow me." Mizu said as she turned around. She began to walk away and Sachi followed, but Mizu began to run. Sachi sighed and groaned as she chased after the Deer. Sachi ran through the village with her sights set on the Deer, who was getting farther and farther away from her.

"H-hey, slow down!" Sachi called out, however Mizu only got faster. Sachi frowned in annoyance as she suddenly began to do a hand sign. "Shadow Possession Jutsu!" Just then Sachi's shadow stretched over to Mizu. Mizu began to run on the left, and then the right, dodging the Jutsu; however Mizu was forced to stop as the jutsu somehow managed to catch her. Sachi released a sigh before releasing the Jutsu and walking towards Mizu. "Did you have to go so fast?"

"Well done." Mizu said, causing Sachi to tilt her head in confusion with a question mark leaving her head. "You caught my shadow, which was the main objective for you to form a contract with me." Mizu said. Sachi looked down at the shadows and her eyes went wide. She then flinched back, which cause the shadows to break apart.

"I did it?!" Sachi exclaimed in shock, making a small laugh leave Mizu's mouth.

"Yes, you did, and now we can form a contract." Mizu said. Suddenly a scroll appeared in front of Mizu. She then pushed the scroll towards Sachi. Sachi kneeled down and opened the scroll up. She then proceeded to bite her thumb hard enough to make it bleed and wrote her name in blood in a small circle. Once Sachi's name was on the scroll, the scroll rolled itself up and disappeared. "I look forward to working with you, Miss Sachi Nara of the Nara Clan." Mizu spoke as she bowed her head down, before disappearing in a poof of smoke.

Sachi looked around, seeing if anyone was around. Once she noticed no one else was around, she clenched her fists and jumped while cheering.

Kireina smiled and waved to Kakashi before walking into her house, closing the door behind herself. She stretched her arms, still smiling slightly as she walked into her living room, and turned the switch on. Once the living room was lit up, Kireina jumped as she found the five animals she could summon sitting in her front room. She then sighed and placed her hand over her face.

"You know, this is breaking and entering." The woman stated, before looking at her summons with a hand on her hip.

"Actually, we didn't beak anything, so it's just entering." Mizu stated, causing Kireina's eye to twitch.

"Well, why are you here? You all usually come here announced, or after I get home, not before." Kireina stated as she stood up straight and walked into the room.

"We came to tell you that the girls have all become successful in their tests. We have formed contracts." Rai spoke as he held his head up high. "We came to inform you of that. Now that we have contracts with the girls, you won't be able to rely on us as much as you used to." Kireina nodded her head and smiled.

"I know. That's why I wanted them to form contracts with you. So, they could rely on you instead. I know that I won't always be there to protect them, so they can always call on you if I am too far away." Kireina explained, making all the animals stiffen slightly.

"Kireina, you sound like you're going to die. I don't like the sound of that." Kūki stated as he frowned. Kireina laughed and shook her head.

"I don't plan on meeting the grim reaper yet." Kireina stated with a soft smile on her face. "Not at least until the girls are all able to control their special abilities." Kireina stated before looking at the group with a serious expression. "What I meant by what I said... is that I know the girls well, and I know how passionate they can become. If they choose to disobey me and go on a mission, I told them not to, they can rely on you to help them."

"So, you are basically telling us to allow them to disobey you?" Kaisai questioned as she leaned her head forward slightly to look at the woman. Kireina shook her head once more.

"No. If they were to disobey my orders, I will give them the consequences, however, it's just a caution in case they end up in a situation they can't get out of." Kireina explained. Just then, there was a knock at the door. Kireina turned her head to her front door, sighing before turning her head to the five summonses. "Thank you all for everything you have done for me."

"No Kireina. Thank you for being a reliable Ninja and Teacher." Mizu spoke softly.

"We shall always stand beside you." Kūki spoke with his head held high.

"Until next time, Kireina." Rai spoke, before all five-summons disappeared. Kireina sighed, when she heard another knock coming from her front door. The female turned around and walked to the door. She opened it and saw the five girls standing in front of her, all grinning. She raised an eyebrow.

"Well, you five don't seem as exhausted as you were earlier. Did something good happen?" Kireina asked, smiling slightly as she looked at the girls. They all continued to grin before cheering.

"We all got out contracts!" Kireina laughed slightly as she opened her door more.

"Come on in, how about we have some cake I brought earlier today as a celebration?" The girls all nodded happily as they walked into her house. Kireina smiled more as she closed the door. Meanwhile, on top of the house opposite was Kakashi, standing with Asuma and Guy.

"You know you don't have to keep an eye on her anymore Kakashi. She's getting better." Asuma stated as he folded his arms. Kakashi said nothing as he continued to watch the house.

"Now, now, Asuma. You should know our Kakashi does not quit a mission until he's sure it's completed!" Guy stated as he hit Kakashi on the back, making the male go forward slightly. Kakashi sighed as he stood up straight, hands in his pockets.

"I just want to make sure she is ok. Kireina is good at hiding everything behind a smile. Trust me. I know..." Kakashi said as he closed his eyes with a sigh.

Kireina laughed as Guy fell on his face. She was stood with Kakashi, Asuma and Kurenai, watching the male show off his new move. Kakashi looked at Kireina, wearing a serious expression as he watched the female laugh.

. . .

"Man, Guy sure likes to try hard." Kireina said, smiling as she walked with Kakashi through the forest alone. Kakashi looked at Kireina and frowned as she walked with her arms folded behind her head.

"You don't seem as sad as I thought you'd be." Kireina stopped smiling and looked at the male, tilting her head.

"What do you mean Kashi?" Kireina questioned with a raised eyebrow. Kakashi frowned.

"You just found out your mother is dead, but you're laughing and smiling like it's nothing." Kireina looked down, a shadow forming over her eyes as her hands dropped to her side. The female stopped walking, which made the male stop walking as well. "Kireina?" His eyes widened in surprised as he watched a tear fall down her face. Kireina then looked up at Kakashi, smiling with tears running down her face.

"You have no idea how much pain, a smile can hide, do you?" Kireina questioned, causing Kakashi to sweat. He looked away, feeling guilt in his words. "It hurts so much, but I can't tell anyone. I don't want pity. I want comfort. So if I smile, I'll get that..."

Kakashi opened his eyes, sighing as he turned around, walking away with his hands in his pockets.

"Let's go." Asuma and Guy looked at each other before following the male.
