Chapter 14
Kiyomi's POV
"Kiyomi, where are you going?"
I roll my eyes at Kakashi and continue to exit the Hokage building. Who does that loser think he is? I'm not his child. He's not even thinking about all I've endured just for him to throw me back into this lifestyle. I break from my thoughts after feeling Kakashi pull at my wrist.
"I'm going shopping. Give me some money." I stand in front of Kakashi with my hand out.
Kakashi shakes his head no and encourages me to wear a regular shinobi outfit. He wants me to wear green is he crazy? I need to set a formal impression if I'm going to be responsible for a bunch of kids. I continue to hold my hand out and wait for him to oblige. He sighs to himself and hands over his beige wallet. I begin to walk past him in the opposite direction satisfied with the good amount of cash in his wallet.
"The Genins we've been assigned to are waiting for us Kiyomi."
I tell him I won't be that long as I begin to flash through the village looking for the nearest clothing store.
Sakura's POV
"Where's Naruto?" Sasuke asks.
Why is he asking about Naruto right now? We should be doing less talking about naruto and more lip action. We were so close to kissing earlier.
"Oh, see, there you go changing the subject again. Anyway, Naruto just picks fights with you. Do you know why he's so annoying? because he wasn't raised right. He doesn't have a mother or father, no one to teach him right from wrong. Think about it. He just does whatever comes to his head. If I did things like Naruto, forget it. I mean my parents would get mad, and I get in trouble. So of course I don't do it. But if you don't have parents to tell you how would you know? He's selfish and bratty. He's all alone."
"Alone. Isolated."
"Huh?" I mumble.
"It's not about your parents scolding you. You have no idea what it means to be alone."
"Why are you saying that?" I ask confused about what Sasuke was saying.
I stand puzzled on why he's taking Naruto's side anyway. He's annoying and just picks fights with him as I said earlier.
"Because...you're annoying," Sasuke responds before turning his back towards me and walking away.
I gasped to myself as I watched him walk away from me. Annoying. What? What just happened? He called me annoying! What did I do?
He's never going to like me now. I take my mind off Sasuke when I feel a finger tap my shoulder. I quickly fix my face not wanting the person to see me down.
I turn around to see a woman with long yellow hair and dark blue eyes. She had a nice smile. That was the last thing I remembered before I felt the left side of my cheek sting in pain suddenly. The impact caused me to fall to the ground on my back.
She slapped me. I just got slapped!
"Hey! What's your problem!" I react defensively.
"What's my problem? I have a problem with you running that little mouth of yours. The nerve of you little brat do you have any idea who you're talking to!" She snaps back at me raising her hand again.
Wait a minute. Long yellow hair. Dark blue eyes. Beautiful face. Oh my god, she's the late fourth Hokage's daughter.
"You're Princess Kiyomi Na-
"Lady Kiyomi to you, Do you understand me?" She says picking me up from the ground by the collar of my shirt.
She was the reason we celebrated the other day in the village. The fourth Hokage's daughter returns after 12 years of missing. I feel the right side of my face begin to sting. She slapped me again!
"Hey! enough please it hurts." I cry out clutching my face from the pain. I fall on my butt after she drops me from her hold. I begin to frail my hands around me defensively not wanting to feel another slap from her.
"Were you even listening to me?" She says towering over me.
"Yes! Yes, Lady Kiyomi. I got it."
"Great! So after I run my errands I will be meeting your parents correct?"
What? What is she talking about meeting my parents? Maybe I wasn't listening. She just slapped me not once but twice. I still don't know why. Then she demanded I address her as Lady Kiyomi and not Princess Kiyomi, which the whole village has called her for as long as I remember. Reading about her in our history books, they even called her the fourth Hokage's princess. The only child of the late fourth Hokage. Now she's talking about meeting my parents.
"You seem to be very comfortable talking about your classmate's living situation so I'm curious to know what your home is like. Sasuke was right by calling you annoying. Now, I won't have to hunt you down and find you after your orientation do I?"
She must've overheard the conversation Sasuke and I had earlier. I shake my head not wanting to upset her anymore. She smiles and tells me to stand up. I do so quickly. I watch as she raises her right hand but she had chakra circulating from her palm. I flinch when her hand gets close to my face but she holds me in place with her left hand. She caressed both my cheeks and the stinging sensations I felt instantly disappeared from my cheeks. How did she do that?
"Medical ninjutsu." She answers reading my mind and caressing both of my cheeks one last time. She asked me if I felt better. I nod in approval. She gives me one last smile before flashing away.
I sit down on the bench and begin to reflect on my words earlier. I'm annoying, that's what they both said. First Sasuke then Lady Kiyomi. Now I get it, this must be how Naruto feels. I shouldn't treat him like that. Next time I see him I'm going to be nice.
Kiyomi's POV
I've got to find the right outfit that screams I'm in charge and you're not. I chuckle to myself as I walk past all the different stores.
"Princess Kiyomi over here!"
"Princess Kiyomi! I have beautiful silk for your beautiful skin!"
"Princess Kiyomi I have more for less!"
As I walk and enter each store, I leave with free clothes. As, flattered and grateful as I was, none of the clothes stood out to me.
"Kiyomi is a Lady now, you imbeciles! Lady Kiyomi please step this way!"
I whip my head around to see the loud respectful store owner. It was a small elderly man standing on a chair with a huge smile on his face. I follow into his store and can't help but take in his small frame. I have never seen a man so small. I wonder if aging caused him to shrink in height.
"I have something special for you in the back Lady Kiyomi. I started working on it the moment I heard you returned to the village the other day."
"Really? I'm flattered."
I watch as he grabs a stool to open a door in the back of his store. I offer to open the door for him and he begins to rant about how He is more than capable of opening his door. I would say different. He is so tiny he can't even reach the knob on his tippy toes.
I watch as he struggles to open the door with his small hand. He begins to feel embarrassed in front of me and decides to throw his whole body onto the knob to twist it to the left. He succeeds but the door swings open and his body flings into the dark room. I couldn't find him so I place my hand against the wall feeling for a light switch. I find it and turn on the light to see a mannequin with a beige blanket over it.
"Okay, Lady Kiyomi! I'm over here please help me!" I hear him call out.
I spot him struggling underneath rubbish on the floor. I pick him up and place him on the huge ladder he had on the left of the mannequin.
"Thank you." He says dusting off his clothes.
"I present to you my finished product!" He shouts pulling the blanket off the mannequin. My eyes fall onto his creation and I fall in love with the outfit.
His creation was a navy blue kimono-style ninja outfit. It had a white outline and white diamond-shaped designs embroidered into the front and arms of the outfit. The end of the dress was a different blue and different texture from the top of the dress. Lastly, there was a white bow holding the attire together in the back.
"I remember how your parents always kept you in kimonos as a child. You were just the cutest kid in the village back then." The owner coos to himself.
"Thank you, sir!" I smile and bow to him thanking him for this beautiful creation he probably spent so much time making.
"Please Lady Kiyomi, no need to be formal with me. just call me Tomi."
"Mr. Tomi take everything in this wallet please." I urge showing him Kakashi's wallet.
"Oh heavens no! I can't take money from you Lady Kiyomi." He objects and pushes Kakashi's wallet away.
I sigh, knowing he would continue to object like all the other store owners did today. He encourages me to go try on the outfit now so he can see if his measurements were correct. I listen and try the outfit on it was tighter than it looked. I come out and show him and he quickly measures me then writes down his measurements. I change back into my original outfit and thank Mr. Tomi again while I continue to change into his fitting room.
"I guess you'll have the outfit ready for me tomorrow with the correct measurements?" I ask.
"No need it's ready now!" he shouts.
I peek my head outside the curtain of the fitting room with a puzzled look. I look to the ground looking for him he was standing there holding the outfit up. He directs me to try it on again. I follow his instructions and it fits like a glove. I tie the bow in the back and smile with contempt.
"Come out and try on the shoes I made with it. The shoes you had on when returning to the village were raggedy."
I chuckle to myself at his words and come outside the fitting room showing him the outfit. He nods in approval and ushers me to try the boots on. They fit perfectly unlike the dress the first time. They were long, black, and sleek. I loved it.
"Now Lady Kiyomi you must know my creation may look soft and pretty but it can be the complete opposite."
I listen intrigued to know where he was going with that statement.
"The cloth of this white bow can hold up to 20 pounds worth of objects. You can store you're special kunai's I assume your father left for you. It can be stored inside of it. Also, the boots seem cute and shiny, right? The heel of it can be deadly when used with your strength." he exclaims pointing at the sharp heel.
I smile with admiration at how thought-out his creation was. It is such an honor to wear this outfit in battle.
"I'm sure you have somewhere else to be, but I please just ask you to leave out in this outfit today. It would make me happy... And bring me more shoppers but don't worry about that." He mumbles the last part to himself.
I smile and remind him that it was my plan from the start the moment I saw his creation. I begin to head out of the room we were in but stop when I hear him call out behind me.
"Oh Lady Kiyomi! one more thing, can you carry me back to the front of the store please?"
I smile and nod and allow him to get on my back. I close the back room door behind me and carry him back to the front of his store where I met him. Tomi slides down my back gently onto the stool he was on earlier.
"Good luck Lady Kiyomi! Make your parents proud." Tomi calls out in a distance as I begin to head back to Kakashi's home.
I thank him and place all the clothes I received from other stores into the long white bow I had wrapped around me. Let's see if it holds. It worked.
I dash to Kakashi's home to find him waiting outside the front door. He held a disapproving look on his face for a few seconds before matching my bright smile.
"Are you waiting for me? How sweet of you Kakashi."
I smile walking past him to enter through the front door of his home. He follows behind complaining about how much time I spent shopping to see me with no shopping bags at all. I giggle and unwrap my bow and all the free clothes that I was gifted with spilled onto the living room floor. Kakashi's jaw falls to the floor in shock.
"My-My Wallet!" He cries out, drowning in worry at the thought that I spent all his money on these items.
I hush him while grabbing his hand and placing his fully loaded wallet back into his possession. He quickly changes his attitude relieved to see I had not spent a dime. I quickly store all the items in Kakashi's empty closet and he was too distracted with his wallet to notice me claiming his closet as my own.
I look over in Kakashi's mirror one last time at myself. I looked pretty but I was becoming a shinobi again. Is this really what I want to do again? I'm now supposed to be some Genins sensei too while having to be comfortable at being a shinobi again. I don't even think I like kids.
"This is what your parents would've wanted. Especially your father."
I look up into the mirror to see Kakashi behind me with a smile he gently pats my shoulder and nudges my back with something cold. I turn around to see him holding a brand new hidden in the leaf village band. I smile at the band and place it around my waist. I adjust it and it sat perfectly around my waist complementing my new outfit.
"You look beautiful. Your parents would be proud."
I feel my eyes begin to water at the thought of seeing my parents again right now. Would they be proud? Would they scold me?
"Now don't start crying we have some kids to pick up. We're beyond late!" Kakashi breaks me from my thoughts as he drags me out of his place towards the shinobi academy.
