Ethereal 06: Revealed

Chapter 6

I could not believe my eyes. Standing in front of me— live and real— was Naruto. Uzumaki Naruto. Even if the world fell apart, even if some kind of apocalypse had hit, I wouldn't have believed if someone said that he or she met Naruto. Or Sakura. Even though I had been secretly wishing that my stupid and unreasonable wish became real, I knew that it was just fiction. Just fiction.

But lo and behold! He was standing right in front of me, so silent that I could hear his heartbeat— I had no reason to deny that my wish came true. No reason to deny that the fiction world was not just fiction. I was burning with excitement.

I am with Naruto. He is real.

I took in a deep breath.

"You are Naruto?" I managed to say in a low voice before breaking hell.

"Yes! Yes! I finally get to see you! I never thought you would actually pop in front of me." I paused, putting both my hands on his shoulders and gazing into his eyes, 'Like, literally pop in front of me."

"What do you mean by that?" he asked, his eyebrows furrowed with confusion. "You make it sound like we dropped from the sky."

"That may actually be true!" I feigned a shocked look by opening my mouth and covering it with my hands. "How— like, just how did you come here? Is Konoha actually hidden in the forests?"

"Er? Yes, Konoha is a hidden village but you have got it all wrong." He tried to explain. "You see, according to Sasuke, we are not in our dimension. He— he said that we have somehow entered a world unknown to us and... and its true! You people don't look like us at all and you are weak." he shuddered.

I kept staring at him, the room reverting back to its silence. I looked around curiously before breaking the question.

"So..." I said biting my lower lip, "is Sasuke also here? I— I didn't see him."

Naruto raised his eyebrows at my question once again before questioning me back. "Do you even know him— us?"

"I know him— you." I said, mimicking him. "Just tell me if he is here or not?" I demanded.

"He is here, like, in this world but not with us." he said, still looking doubtful of my questions.

"What d'ya mean loser?" I asked him, slowly losing my patience over his short and incomplete answers.

"Hah? Who'd ya call a loser you alien?!" Naruto barked.

"You, of course." I said, lightly hitting him on his forehead with my fingers. "So, where is Sasuke?"

He growned and rubbed his temple before replying. "I don't know. Since when did he start telling me before wandering off on his own?"

Oh.

Sasuke was there. I did remember seeing him faintly but wasn't sure.

So he really was the one who saved us from this thickhead?

Another question popped up in my mind and before even processing it, I blurted it out.

"In which arc were you before dropping from the sky?!"

"Hah?" His confused look became even more deep with his mouth hanging open with disbelief and his eyes clearly looking for signs of some sort of head injury in me.

I wanted to laugh.

"Oh just leave it..." I gritted my teeth and went towards the main room. Naruto followed.

As I got myself comfortable on the couch, I saw Naruto looking here and there, inspecting each nook and corner of the room. I grinned.

"What?" he asked, taken a back.

"Never mind." I laughed and shoved it off. I liked to look at him and wonder about—erm— things.

"I still can't believe you are real." I stated once again and this time he didn't ask me anything. He just looked at me, silently queationing my sanity, amd made his way towards me.

There was a minute of silence as he got seated but instead of taking the couch, he preffered to sit on the floor, cross legged.

How cute.

We looked at each other then outside the window and then back again, in utter silence. My mind was yet not ready to process anything but I was sure Naruto had a lot of questions in his mind— as I did.

"Er..." he finally broke the silence.

"Yes?" I looked at him with excitement.

I am talking to Naruto.

"Have you noticed that..." he paused.

"Yes?" I replied in the same way as I had no other words to say.

"That we have the same kind of eyes?" he finally said.

Oh.

I am sure I was a bit disappointed with what he said. I processed his words again and again before realising I had to reply.

What did you even expect him to say? 'Will you marry me?'

I snorted at myself.

Eyes, he says. Our eyes are...

I looked at him and into his eyes again. Hw sat there silently, not averting his eyes even once.

I blinked once, and twice.

"Oh My God! " They really are the same!

"And...." he said as soon as I was over the shock.

"And?"

" I like your hair. Its— its beautiful." he stuttered in his sentence.

Oh my god. Cuteness overload.

"Oh!" I smiled and mentally slapped myself for repeating the same words again and again.

Don't you have something else to say other than 'oh' and 'yes'?

"Reminds you of your mom right?" I managed to say, brushing my hair.

He looked at me, stunned. I was sure he did not know what to reply. At first I thought it was a bad idea to make the reference but then I saw him blushing a bit.

Oh god, I hope he came from the arc where he has already met his mom.

"Yea— I guess you are right."

Thank god.

I clapped my hands together as I got a new idea. I motioned Naruto to stay put and went to my room. When I returned, Naruto's mouth was hanging open.

"You—" he staggered, "You look just like my mom!"

I resemble her, alright. I smiled.

"And...just as pretty?" I asked before realising it.

My cheeks redenned and I could no longer look at him. What the fuck is wrong with you, Naeko?!

The blonde stood up and started taking steps closer to me. I tensed up but then thought better of it.

He is freakin' Naruto. Thickhead. Dumb.

Just as I had thought, there was no need for me to be tensed. He came closer to look at my new hairstyle. I had untied my hair and let it loose on my back just like Kushina did. Simple, with one single clip.

"My hair is still a lot shorter, isn't it?" I mustered the strength and asked before he could come any closer.

"It doesn't matter. You— you look the same." Getting back to his seat, he continued, "but, now you say you even know my mom? Even I did not know her until recently."

I smiled a weak smile as I got seated beside him. I leaned and put my lips close to his ears. This time, he tensed.

"I also know your dad and each and every friend of your's Uzumaki Naruto." I whispered.

"How?" he asked blankly.

"Well... I am sure we both have a lot of questions we want to ask," I said, leaning back to the couch." How about you call Sakura and we can have a small chat." I said as I closed my eyes and rested my head backwards.

Naruto stared at me, probably deciding what to do— whether to trust me or not— before standing up.

"Alright."

"Don't you dare go out of my sights!" I shouted, my fangirl side finally surfacing which quickly made mw embarrassed and I blushed.

"What?" he gave me a weird look.

"I– I mean, I really want to see you do a shadow clone?" I said. "Why don't you send one of your clones..."

A big fat white lie.

He looked at me unbelievably but did as told. Even his clone looked at him doubtfully before going to get Sakura.

We sat there in silence until Sakura came and the clone beside her vanished. I looked at her to find that she had tied her hair.

I frowned.

"What?" she asked, but probably to Naruto as she hadn't even acknowledged that I was there.

She hadn't asked me but I intended to answer anyway.

"You never tie your hair!" Naruto and I said in chorus. We looked at each other and chuckled.

"Jinx." I said and Naruto grinned.

Sakura looked from him to me and then back again."I did it anyway." She said and sat down beside me.

I could see that her wound needed to tended to but before I could say anything, she did.

"We are sorry Naeko...we tried to hurt you."

"Kill you" I interrupted with a smile.

"We are so sorry!" suddenly she stood up and bowed, wincing in pain. She even made Naruto bow in front of me.

I felt awkward.

"Uh— its okay. I am totally fine, see?" I said but I was curious as well. "But why did you try to kill me?" I asked.

They looked at each other before anwering.

"There are many points...shall we tell them all?"

"Shoot it." I became impatient.

" 1. You don't look like us."

"2. You had photos of us all over the house. Even the ones that never happened."

"3. You have too many ninja tools spread all over that we thought you were also one."

"4. You were spying on our village."

"5. You know too much about me—us."

"6. You seem familiar with fighting."

"7.You don't look human but you look like my mom..." Naruto ended and Sakura just stared at him in disbelief.

"Umn...so I see." I counted each question on my fingers, "So there are seven points in total. Lets start with the first one."

"You don't look like us. What does that supposed to mean?" I asked. "Unless you consider Sakura's hair, we all look alike."

Sakura made a face at my comment and Naruto giggled.

"Sorry Sakura but seriously the colour of your hair is not natural... No offence!"

"We are not talking about my hair..." she said with closed eyes, "We are talking in general."

"Oh well...lets see...umm... come with me." I stood up and went to stand in front of a large mirror which covered the whole wall of one side. "Come stand with me, you two."

I waited till they were beside me.

"Now look in the mirror and tell me what differences can you see because I can't see any." I shrugged.

"What the—" Naruto jumped.

Sakura seemed as if she couldn't move. Or speak.

"Guys what happened?" I asked— a dumb pink haired girl and a blonde trouble maker.

Naruto pointed at himself in the mirror, still shouting and shaking.

"Yeah...see what I told you? You are not anime here. You are just like us." I smiled.  "Come on look at yourself...aren't you pretty Sakura and Naruto you are quiet...cute? Can't you see?" I grinned at them.

"So...this is how we look here...we can only see ourselves like this in the mirror." Sakura stated. "If I look at Naruto directly, he seems like the way I know him but when I look at him in the mirror..." Sakura said and trailled off.

"Okay...point cleared. Next." Naruto became impatient.

I sighed. "Point 2 and 5 collide. You will have to believe me...you—" I tried to think of how to explain it to them but ended up telling them straight forwardly.

"Well...There is an entertainment programme— an anime, here in this world, which is based on a boy named Naruto. All the people in it are ninjas, well mostly all. Naruto...well he was 12 when he got to know about his secret." I looked at them to see their reactions.

Naruto was stunned but Sakura told me to go on.

"He met his team mates and became friends with them but it took time. Eveyone thought that he was a nuisance. His team mates— Sasuke and Sakura— totally ignored him. Naruto liked Sakura but Sakura liked Sasuke and Sasuke was a dumb ass. The last survivor of Uchiha. He wanted to kill his brother so he went off to Orochimaru to get stronger. Now he is a rogue ninja of Konoha. But Naruto wants him back because he made a lifetime promise to Sakura." I looked at their dumb faces.

"So..that is why their are photos of you and your friends all over here. And that is the reason I know everything about you because, you are Naruto and you are Sakura." I said and finally finished.

Please god, let them believe me.

Both of them didn't say a word. I knew they would need some time to process all these stuffs. I mean, who would believe that there is a show about them? Not me.

Since I knew that they wouldn't utter a word for the next few minutes, I continued.

"Okay..for 3 and 6, I like ninjas a lot so I practiced at home...all by myself. 4, I was not spying, I was watching Naruto! And as for 7, I don't know."
